The food here was pretty good, but for a pocha the drink options were pretty limited. I visited this pocha on a Friday night with some friends and our experience was decent. For food, we ordered the King Friend Combo and Kimchi Fried Rice: - Chive Jeon: This was good, it was crispy and savory. I also liked the dipping sauce since it was garlicky. I would've like if the jeon wad thicker though. - Beef Belly Tteokbokki: This was my favorite dish of the night. It was well balanced with soft rice cakes, generous portion of beef, fish cakes, and veggies. The sauce was also great and not too spicy. - Rolled Omelette: The omelette was fluffy and wasn't dry which I liked. It also came with a side of ketchup which complimented it well. - Kimchi Fried Rice: Solid Kimchi Fried rice, but I've had better. My friends and I wanted to get the watermelon soji, but it was unavailable at the time we went which was a bummer. We ended up getting two bottles of flavored soju at $14 each. While that is generally expensive for bottled soju, it was better that other pocha spots who charge for the same at way higher prices. Since this is a pocha, I wish they offered more drink options other than bottled drinks like cocktails. They have free underground parking which was nice. The service was also pretty good and efficient. Overall the food was great, but I was disappointed due to the lack of drink options. I also wish the vibes were more fun inside. I would maybe come back for the food and the plus of free parking, but I'm not sure if I would come back here with drinking in mind.

Wanted some whole fried chicken, or in Korean, tongdak. This has got to be their specialty. It was good. Tender, crispy skin, and piping hot. Tried their crispy rice seafood soup. It's okay. If you want some seafood essence soup, give it a try. The server gave us a complimentary kimchi pancake. Would be willing to try it next time. Crispy and flavorful. All in all, comfortable spot to hang out with friends and drink soju. On a Friday night, free parking.

They cancelled our reservation just now when I made the reservation 6/10/2026. If they can't get this basic reservation right, you know they can't do anything else right.

My girls and I had an excellent time at this cute Pocha spot in Ktown last Friday. The portions here are huge & perfect for groups. I loved the presentation of all the dishes here. We had a lot of fun enjoying soju with the spicy, sweet corn, sour sauce, umami seafood pancakes. The service was really attentive as well!

Green onion pancake - this may be the best of these kinds of pancakes we've ever tried, and we've had them looooots of places! Flavorful, nice ratio of chives to batter, excellent crispy edges (which were encouraged to eat first), and served with an excellent soy dipping sauce. We ordered the plain version. Teriyaki chicken - thigh meat, nice sauce, but I wouldn't really call it a traditional teriyaki sauce. It was creamy. They recommended eating it with rice and their rice is actually very nice. Well cooked, great texture. Butter shrimp - butterflied but shells on, so beware and don't just bite right in unless you enjoy shell. Slightly spicy but nothing serious. I'm a spice wuss and this was fine for me. Comes served on a bed of finely shredded cabbage. Maybe a little overcooked? Pork belly skewer - tender but the flavor was not our favorite. Sausage skewer - these are tiny and come with ketchup on them. Just okay. Neither of these skewers felt worth the price we paid for them. We would skip skewers next time and try other dishes. Ordered a Cass and it was $11, which seemed a little steep. Our server Paris was a doll, very friendly and gave us great recommendations. She was fantastic! She very kindly brought us some watermelon slices to finish ooff our meal! The space was comfortable. They have call buttons at the table. Easy clean restrooms. We came late at night on a Wednesday. Parking was easy & free in their lot. The downstairs parking garage closes at midnight (at least on weekdays), so the parking lot attendant told us to park on the upper level despite the 15 minute signs. They do come thru the restaurant at midnight remind you of you are parked below.

Amazing new spot in K-town! Tried the fried chicken (통닭), seafood scorched rice soup (해물 누룽지탕), and the half & half Korean pancake. Everything was super tasty, affordable, and the portions were generous. - The fried chicken (통탉) was hot, crispy, and delicious--just like the original Korean style. You can ask for different dipping sauces too, which is a nice touch. Hard to find this style around K-town! - The seafood soup(해물 누룽지탕) came packed with seafood and was reasonably priced. I personally found it a bit mild, so if you like spicy food, ask them to kick it up a notch. - The half & half pancake (전) was perfectly crispy and so good. Most places make you order two separate ones, so having the half option was such a win. Overall, really impressed--definitely coming back to try more dishes. Service was also super friendly and attentive. 5/5!

9/10 Overall: This is a brand new pocha spot located in the heart of KTown that has a variety of dishes ranging from soups to skewers and of course, traditional pocha dishes! Everything is packed with flavor and the atmosphere is perfect for a late hangout with friends. One of my favs was their spicy chicken, it had just the right amount of heat and a perfect crunch. The service is also great, the owner is incredibly kind. The prices are a bit on the higher side though in my opinion. Volcano mala casserole $40: 4.5/5 Super delicious mala flavor with a generous amount of meat! It had thinly cut brisket, glass noodles, tteokbokki, fish cake, a variety of veggies, corn, and mushroom soaked in a spicy and salty broth. Hot fried chicken wings $20: 4.5/5 I loved the crunch and the flavor on this one! Sweet, spicy, salty, and tender wings with a side of a cabbage salad. It was a bit pricy for the amount though. Pork belly skewers $3: 4/5 Super tender cuts of pork belly that went so well with the salt dipping they provide. Bacon-wrapped rice cake skewers $4: 4/5 Bacon added so much flavor to the crispy rice cakes! The sauce drizzled on top is also delicious and super flavorful. Korean style sausage rice cake skewers $4 3/5 I liked the crispy rice cakes and the sausage but the flavor on this one was not as strong. The sausage was also a bit dry for my liking.

Yummy yummy! My friend and I were craving fried chicken and King Pocha popped up on Yelp--so we drove over since it was just a couple blocks away. They offer free parking, which is always a plus. There was no wait when we arrived, and we were seated right away by a super friendly man (possibly the owner!). The tables have call buttons for service--such a neat touch--so we used it to place our order. We got 1 whole fried chicken, French fries, and a side of the steamed egg dish. Everything was so good. There wasn't a single thing left on the table besides the bones. We were initially skeptical about ordering an entire chicken, but it ended up being the perfect size for the two of us and wasn't overly fried. Service was amazing--helpful, attentive, and genuinely kind. By the time we left, the place had filled up.Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

I think this is a new spot. We randomly stumbled in there today because everything else was closed on Christmas Eve. Free parking, super nice staff here! And...They are an LAFC supporters spot and play highlights of Heung Min Son on repeat. Love that. BUT the food was so much better than I had expected for a pocha! The oven roasted chicken was crispy perfection, and they cut it up into quarters for us to eagerly devour. Make sure to ask for hot sauce, to compliment the sweetness of the slaw! We also had the seafood crispy rice soup (haemul nurunji tang), and I was amazed by this!! I know the army stew (buddae jigae) is the crowd pleaser, but if it's a cold rainy night and you want something savory, I'd really try the seafood crispy rice. Check it out! 잘 먹겠습니다!!!

came here on a Friday night because I was really craving pocha-style food, and I'm so glad I found this hidden gem in a great Ktown location. The atmosphere immediately reminded me of my trip to Korea -- cozy, lively, and authentic. I ordered the spicy boneless cheese combo, and it completely hit the spot. It was flavorful, cheesy, and had just the right level of spice. It brought back so many memories of Korean street food -- highly recommend! On top of that, the customer service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Can't wait to come back!

Hangari Kalguksu is doing really well for themselves! It is good to see. There have been so many changes, but I am not a fan of the changes. What was once meticulously fresh prepared side dishes are now generic looking out of a jar side dishes. They have started to feature more things and have expanded their menu, as well as expanded their shop so that it is much bigger. Still packed! Parking is still valet and a hassle. The waiters and waitresses now speak perfect english, which was nice. Kalguksu is still very good. Overall, it feels more commercial than homely now. As a commercial restaurant, it is good. However, not a place I would travel for anymore. I can get this experience from most local spots. I am keeping this review at a 5 star, because it still is worthy of a 5 star. However, it is a lesser 5 star than 13 years ago.

Parking is always a pain in Ktown, but they offer valet for around $5, which makes things a lot easier. This time we ordered the Pork Belly + Jowl Bossam Combo (Large), and I have to say the jowl was the star of the meal. It was super tender and even better than the pork belly. They give you everything you need to make your own wraps. We also got the Budae Army Kalguksu, and the portion was huge. If you're a fan of army stew, this was fire. It came loaded with Spam, sausage, cheese, and plenty of their knife cut noodles. This place gets pretty busy, so expect a wait during peak hours. Even with a full restaurant, the service was still friendly and attentive. I'd definitely come back for the bossam, and next time I want to try more of their other kalguksu dishes .

If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
