Dumpling 만두 순두부 (소고기, 고기만두)
Paige W.

BCD is always reliable, and this location had a significantly faster estimated wait time than the BCD off of Wilshire. For a party of 5, we did wait a good amount outside since they were cleaning up 2 tables for us. Very courteous when we asked for wait times. All the soups arrived first, with the tofu japchae and seafood pancake coming out second. The rice is hot, always get the crispy rice at the bottom if you like the texture! The soup is flavorful, the Dumplings, Kimchi, or Original (mild) are always my favorite go-to options. My group liked the Assorted with clam though. BCD's menu will have something for everyone, and all the side dishes are great complements to the dish. This location is clean, reliable, and what you expect out of BCD.

It was pretty busy when I went but the food came out pretty quick. Really liked the soup since it had good flavor and had a lot of stuff in it. The bulgogi was pretty good too and paired well with the soup. I prob over ordered a little since it was too much for just myself to finish since the portion was pretty big. I liked all the sides with it.

Bibimbap
Minerva H.

I got the bibimbap- which had a lunch special deal. Hearty, nutritious, and refreshing meal on a hot day. The bibimbap portion was generous for one. It comes with your choice of tofu soup- I got the one with dumplings. They also pour, I believe, hot barley tea into the hot stone which was holding your rice so that the bottom bits of rice don't go to waste, and it becomes rice soup. Plus with all the side dishes, this was a very filling meal. No nonsense, hearty meal. The employees were super on top of it, serving everything efficiently. This location has a pretty big parking lot too, and is usually less busy than the other location in Ktown.

Amazing food and amazing service! They are super quick widdit lol I sat and got my food within 10mins. They're ready to take your order as soon as you sit, so come ready hehe The banchan came first, ofc, and I will have to confirm it's one of the best banchans in town! The kimchi is perfect. I think the fried fish was mackerel? It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dumplings soon tofu was soooo delicious-Hearty, super tasty and just the right amount of spicy&tofu&soup ratio. I do wish it had more dumplings because they were soooo good. They replenish the banchan if you need. The front of house is super attentive! They came and served my rice from the clay pot and then added water for the traditional sungnyung (toasted rice water) for after my meal. I love this place. It's a true classic. Come, and you will leave happy and full. It gets busy late night so come early!

Plenty of parking around. The restaurant was pretty empty at 9am on a Friday. Service was quick. The tofu soup was pretty bland. I had to add my galbi in the soup for more flavor.

LA kalbi main order that has only 5-6 ribs

It's been awhile I haven't been to BCD. I have them another chance and did a pick up order today. I ordered LA Kalbi main order and this is what I received for $30. Btw I am 5'2 so my hand isn't big at all. It had about 5-6 ribs. Very disappointed. I shouldn't have gone back. I don't think I'll give them any more chances. This is not acceptable.

The BBQ short ribs at BCD Tofu House on Western were excellent..tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. Really enjoyed them. Only downside was the service. After they dropped off the food, no one came back to check . I had to flag someone down because part of my rice was burnt and I needed a fresh serving. Overall good food, just wish the service matched it.

Sides for 3 people (raw eggs for tofu soup)

Appeared to be free parking on the lot, but wasn't sure so we parked on the street. It may be difficult to find street parking. We came at 4pm on a weekend and street parking wasn't too hard to find. The place was starting to get busy at 4pm. By 5pm there was a line. Got the C2 Bulgogi Combo Sliced Rib Eye with plain Seafood Tofu Soup for $29.49. The bulgogi was too sweet that we didn't finish it. The seafood tofu soup was alright. It had 1 shrimp, 2 tiny clams, and 1 mussel. Plain soup was really plain and had barely any flavor. We also go the C8 Yellow Corvina Combo with plain Beef Tofu Soup for $28.49. The yellow corvina was alright, it wasn't as salty as the small side fish. The beef tofu soup had slightly more flavor than the seafood soup. We also go another seafood tofu soup (S3) for $17.99, but mild spiciness. It wasn't spicy and added a bit more flavor. Overall, we felt the quality of the food was not good. The waiters were very fast in taking the order, dropping off the food, and giving us the check. There was a water girl who did refill our water cup frequently. Felt like an assembly line. If you want something fast, be in and out in an hour, then this is your place. Not ideal for talking as it gets loud and you feel rushed to eat fast.

LA Galbi (BBQ Short Rib) 갈비
Rebecca N.

Didn't enjoy BCD the first time I had it a few years back, so decided to give it another shot... but unfortunately wasn't much better. Got the galbi entree (upwards of $30) which I usually like, but it was so excessively greasy here. There was a decent amount of meat but I couldn't finish because it was so heavy and unpleasantly coated in oil. I don't think I'll be back.

V Vegetables 야채 순두부 (호박, 버섯, 브로콜리, 양파)
Kathryn F.

I love soon dubu so much that I had to come to this location after having been to the one on Wilshire last night. This time I had the vegetable version, which was delicious, especially the oyster mushrooms. This location has the same polite service, but is quieter and less upscale. There's parking and today, no waiting in line.

Dennis Z.

The food here was very delicious. I recommend eating their Soon Tofu soup. And the small side dishes do not disappoint. Service was efficient and quick. It does get crowded during lunch, but it's manageable. Expect a wait time of 20-30 minutes.

Galbi combo with beef tofu soup (mild)
Karina S.

Love BCD, especially their combo meals which I think are such amazing value! In my experience, this location is typically less crowded than the one on Wilshire, even though it's smaller. Got the Galbi combo with beef tofu soup (mild, which wasn't too spicy at all), which was a sufficient amount of food for 2 to share. The meal also came with a stone pot rice, banchan, and fried fish!

Rosse M.

Damn man. I was so impressed with the service at this specific location. The manager take around and checked on every table. The servers were so kind and patient. 10/10. The food is always so consistent, quality never drops.

The soup was simply delicious with a smooth velvety texture and flavor. The ramen was so good (freshly made every day) in its finest al dente texture with a nice large diameter. Rare in The OC. The rib meat can be removed with chopsticks ! And the most tenderness of protein. The kimchi cabbage and radishes are so delicious. Spicy but not kickass (ok for me) biting into sweetness I've never tasted anywhere in the world that serves K-ramen. Service is most excellent as they immediately greet you, seat you, menu, then, the table top appetizers are served. I believe the owner or chef brought the entrees. That's different! He came out later to see how everything was! As I tried to visit him in the kitchen to compliment, he's gone! Inside has plenty of seating with booths on one side and bench seats on the other with chair seated tables in the middle. Highly recommend this place. Competitively priced. I'm looking forward to returning to order a kalguksu for myself. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty busy. Service was a bit slower than we would have expected, even taking into consideration that it was a weekday. We arrived early before the rush but were still impacted by it before we finished. My friend's soup broth dish really should have come out first but it came long last, we had to ask about it. I suspect they forgot/missed it, though they did not acknowledge it.

At Joy, Ku delivers a menu of Taiwanese fast-casual fare similar to its sister restaurant (and Michelin-recognized) Pine & Crane. Here, the modern menu of Americanized Taiwanese comfort food feels infinitely more approachable than the dense novels at traditional Chinese banquet halls. Joy is set up on a busy corner of York. Enter to join the queue before a backlit menu board. The cold salad selection is illuminated within the trim deli case. Sturdy wooden stools are pressed up against two-seater tables, while a cushioned half-booth runs along the back wall. Vaguely rural pan-Asian knick-knacks decorate the off-white walls. As the sun sets, the warm lighting feels infinitely more moody. The loud chatter, dance music, and clanging of metal silverware feel more like a bar than a fast-casual Chinese restaurant. My finacee and I visited for an early weekend dinner, and we arrived to a full house. We kicked off our meal with a slice of Sesame Scallion Bread. The puffy triangle was a cross between a hoagie bun and a King's Hawaiian roll. It was neutral and dry by itself, but we enjoyed pairing it with chili oil. Across the rotating sides, we were drawn to the Wood Ear Mushroom and Lotus Root salads. Of the two, we preferred the chewy, oily 'shrooms, but the apple-like texture of the chili lotus root slowly grew on me. My fiancee's favorite dish was the Thousand Layer Pancake with egg and cheese. The piping-hot rolls achieved the crispy-yet-oily combo that most fried dishes only hope to reach. Lastly, the Dan Dan Noodles were creamy but lacked depth of flavor. The Jidori chicken supplement was fine, but I found myself wanting spicy mala and minced pork. The service team worked together like clockwork, and the bill approached $40. Broadly, Joy felt like an Americanized, vegetarian-friendly take on Chinese comfort food. The entire meal was generally enjoyable, and my fiancee firmly swore that Joy exceeded her experience at Pine & Crane. Nonetheless, the flavors and textures (while familiar to the American palate) felt subdued; I'll be more likely to stick to the SGV stalwarts in the future.

I haven't seen bae-chu kimchi with oysters in a loooong time, esp at a restaurant. I was so surprised when I found that they have the traditional kimchi with oysters. As for food, we ordered jaeng-ban (tray) cold noodles, and that was good!
