OMG! This place is amazing! We were just passing through Franklin and wanted a decent meal at the end of a long day of driving. I saw Chrysalis on Yelp. It had good reviews and was less than a mile from our hotel. What an incredible surprise! The crispy eggplant appetizer might just be one of the best things I've ever tasted! The red pepper sauce on it is mind-blowingly good. In fact, everything was absolutely delicious. The ambiance was great and the service even better. My only disappointment is that this restaurant is 546 miles from our home. You can bet we'll head straight for this place the next time we're in Franklin. Oh yeah, and the bill was reasonable too. read more

My hubby and I stopped in randomly and boy what a gem we found. All the food and drinks we tasted was an experience for the tastebuds. Our waiter was wonderful and the bartender made our drink amazing! They have a large GIN selection so that was a plus! read more

Chrysalis - Charcuterie - Italian Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

Chrysalis is a wonderful Tapas Treat! We are not big fans of red sauce but the meatballs were amazing. The sauce was bursting with freshness and out of the ordinary. Burrata was the Bomb!!! Both tried different salads and were blown away by the Bread Pudding with Strawberry topping. Hannah our server was fantastic. We will be back when in town!!! read more

Came here on a date and I have to say, she loved it. Service was great and food was delicious.

Nice little Italian restaurant with plenty of gluten free options! I had the chicken pesto sandwich for lunch and my husband had gluten free chicken pesto pasta. Both of our entrees were good and had nice presentation too. They had some other cool options such as a build your own charcuterie board. read more

What a fabulous little spot this is!! I was recently traveling through Nashville and Yelped up this gem for a spot to try some local fresh healthy food for lunch. A wonderful modern Italian experience where they serve house made pasta dishes, small plates with really nice craft cocktails and a fab wine list. The interior is well appointed and nicely decorated. The service is extremely friendly, efficient and speedy. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for freshly prepared locally sourced and delightfully prepared dishes. read more

Great food and drinks. The service was friendly and the setting is nice for families or meeting friends.

Food cooked when ordered. Outstanding menu. Craft Cocktails available. Service excellent and Owner Chef visited Our table!. Ambiance similar to Chicago, New York, LA and SF. My family had a wonderful experience and we will return and we recommend to everyone in the Middle TN AREA! Ciao Bella. RonyX read more

The food is incredible at this Italian restaurant. Definitely recommend coming here. I got the Alfredo pasta with chicken and it was a 10/10. The restaurant is fancy inside and has a vast amount of great food choices to choose from and alcoholic beverages. The service was good too. read more

Really fantastic place! Probably the only restaurant I've been to that has "small plates" with portions large enough to share. The wife and I had four and walked out stuffed. The wine and alcohol selection looked substantial and the tiramisu would've been discussed here if I weren't too full! Definitely recommend getting reservations. read more

Chrysalis - Menu as of Oct 2023 - Italian Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

Since the closing of Molinari's in 2020, after a 35-year run, we've desperately needed a quality Italian restaurant in the Cool Springs area. Thank heavens the void didn't last long. In 2021, Chrysalis came to the rescue and we finally made it here in 2022. Get a reservation weeks in advance if you're dining on the weekend, because this place is wildly popular and books up quickly. We organized a nice little charcuterie board as a starter, listed on the menu as piatto (Italian for plate). This allows patrons to choose any items from a list of 25 choices! I highly recommend the fresh mozzarella, the house almonds, and the prosciutto di parma among many exceptional options. You cannot go wrong with a single main dish, but I'm obsessed with the newest menu addition, Vongole in littleneck clam sauce. Vongole is Italian for clams, and you'll get lots of them amidst a perfectly al dente pasta (request bucatini, a thick spaghetti-like pasta). It gets a great boost from the Grana Padano cheese and lemon zest! Additionally, the garlic shrimp Alfredo is so spectacular it might be the best Alfredo sauce in town. There is no question that Chrysalis rivals Pastaria for best Italian food in the Nashville metro! We found the Bread for Two to be uninspiring, but the house salad is stupendous! The Cioppino, one of my favorite American foods but difficult to find this far from San Francisco, looks so intriguing that I'll definitely return to try it! And I must mention that Lucy is a PHENOMENAL server! Look for the stunningly gorgeous waitress with long red hair and you'll get fabulous attention to detail, great menu advice, tremendous patience, professionalism, and the best service you could ever imagine. This is our new favorite Italian restaurant. read more

Food was good, I'd go back but probably won't crave it. Service was friendly, I sat at the bar as I was eating alone. Good recommendations. I went later toward closing and it was chill inside, not too busy and fast service. read more

I stopped in here with a couple of co-workers a couple of nights ago. I thought I saw happy hour on their website, but we weren't given a happy hour menu. Instead, we were just told that drinks were 20% off after I ordered my first one. The drinks are good and definitely worth the 20% off price. We also had the mussels and the meatballs and both were good portions and tasty. The service was fantastic. There were actually two servers for the whole place while we were there and they both checked in on us and got our orders out quickly. It's a bit small inside but it's cheerful and welcoming. I do feel like it's more of a place to have a whole meal than a happy hour and I think that's what most people were there for. read more

We dine out a lot, and for some reason, we had not been to Chrysalis. My mistake. We met the owner at a charity event and ended up at the restaurant the next evening. The pasta dishes, salads, bar ... all exceeded expectations. We've been a few times now, and I'm stuck on the bolognese. read more

To say that we won't come back it's an understatement. Do not recommend this place at all! After many months without a date-night due to a new baby arrival, we were excited to try this place. Ambience was welcoming and the decor was nice. After looking through the menu for the hundred time before doing the awkward look-around if anyone will take the order. The server finally came over and politely apologized. The hostess never told her that we had been seated. We ordered the Burrata to start and the Braised Beef Short Ribs and Pesto pasta with Chicken. Burrata came out. Delicious. It all went downhill when the entrees came out. The Braised Beef was overflowing with olive oil and it was extremely bitter. It was inedible to be honest. The chicken in the Pesto pasta was beyond chewy and undercooked. According to the server, after she brought the plates back to the kitchen, the chef agreed that the plate was extremely bitter. By this point we lost our appetite and did not want to eat anymore. They took the noxious dishes off the bill and we paid for what we had eaten. The hostess dismissively dropped the check on the table and gossiped about us with the bartender. The waitress felt bad about all of this but there was nothing that she could have done to fix it by that point. Go somewhere else, the food is not worth your money! read more

Excellent neighborhood Italian eatery at the quiet end of Cool Springs, with a casual but stylish ambiance. Food was excellent and well presented and complimented by a good selection of wine and full range cocktails. Service was friendly and efficient but unobtrusive. Staff were knowledgeable about the various menu options and responsive to requests for recommendations. Wide choice of dishes on the menu to suit everyone and every taste. This place will definitely be on my list for a return visit. read more

We live about 1:45 away and were in town to visit friends and stumbled into Chrysalis on a whim. Wow! What a find! We'll be driving back for the sole purpose of dining here. While three and a half hours of driving for a meal well under $75 may seem ridiculous, this is the best Italian food I've eaten in...well...ever. And I've eaten a lot of Italian food, including during 6 years of routine travel to Italy. The meal was absolutely delicious, the service was timely and friendly, and the ambiance was casual but refined. Simply top-notch! read more

The staff. The food. The drinks. All are amazing. Very friendly place with waiters and waitresses who care and are attentive. The head bartender can make anything and does it well. Our waiter last night had cool metal round earrings that we talked about. Highly recommend. read more

Chrysalis is located in a small strip mall with easy parking. We were there on a Friday evening at 5pm without a reservation. It wasn't long before the tables were pretty filled. The decor is very open with a full wall of many colorful butterflies...thus the name. The bar area is small and could be used if the tables are full. Especially on a Friday evening or weekend a reservation could be necessary. There are booths and tables spaced out nicely. Our server was Lebo who has been there a while. Lebo is very familiar with the menu and offered suggestions as well as how foods were prepared. I enjoyed their Aperol Spritz that had a dash of orange bitters and lemon added to the usual spritz formula. If possible it made the Aperol Spritz even better than the usual. Our table had the mussels, Chicken Saltimbocca, and pan seared trout. The portion sizes are just right. Not just right is the bread, it is dry and tasteless. There are about five offerings for dessert but we were all topped off from our delicious meal. read more

Simply five stars. The best Italian dinner I've had since Boston's North End. I was early for a meet up with Matt S. so I made a quick bathroom stop to wash my hands. Clean, tidy and a nice space. A good start. The dining room is lovely. Beautifully and tastefully decorated and the light strings are absolutely darling. At the table, the paper menus are great and I love the concept they have of ticking off your own options to assemble your own choices for antipasto. I was sorely tempted but decided to just stick with dinner tonight. Josh took care of us tonight and he is FABULOUS. Attentive, funny and a great waiter who had stories out the wazoo. I had mentioned at the outset that here I am at an Italian restaurant which is the second hardest cuisine on a keto diet (the first is Chinese) and he said that they absolutely had a great option. I should have the cioppino and not only is it keto, it's delicious. I'm sold. But no, then Josh goes into a full five minute story of the history of cioppino and it was amazing. I've never heard this before and it really filled out the experience. Oh, but wait. Now the cioppino arrives. FIVE DANG STARS RIGHT HERE. Beautifully presented, a fantastic fish stew with mussels and shrimp and salmon and clams it's in the amazing broth that yes, I scooped it all up with the spoon and still had to have a tiny end crust of the not keto bread (delicious, by the way) to mop the bowl clean. Oh my goodness. Lovely restaurant. Great staff. Fantastic meal. I'm absolutely in love with Chrysalis. [Review 16058 overall - 272 in Tennessee - 1563 of 2021.] read more

Too expensive for the small portions. Food taste was average or slightly above but not all that for the cost

We LOVED Chrysalis! Our server, Brenner, was outstanding. He paid attention to all our needs, while leaving enough space so that we could enjoy our meal together. He paced the appetizers and main meal perfectly. Since we were there early, and Brenner wasn't busy yet, he stopped by to chat several times, and he has a lovely, engaging personality. We got the bread for two, and the pig and fig flatbread to start. Both were delicious. I had the pistachio crusted rack of lamb, and my husband had the lobster pasta. Soooo good! We don't live around here, so the sad thing is that we can't come here on a regular basis. If we are here, however, we will be sure to come back to this excellent restaurant. read more

Everything!! Excellent food and service. Small, quiet restaurant! Good place to dine with a few friends or family.

Great food and service sometimes slow to serve and the seating is like strip mall type restaurant but good food and drinks. Loud for sure

Amazing food. Very casual and inviting atmosphere. My wife and I would definitely come back again.

Very beautiful and nice ambiance restaurant! Just what I wanted to celebrate our mother last weekend. Hannah was very helpful and made sure we were taken care of. She even assisted with taking our picture. The food and drinks were all very delicious! I would love to come back next time during dinner and try something other than pasta. Also, the limoncello is amazing! Love the tart and creaminess of this dessert. This would also be a great spot to drink with your girlfriends, eat some charcuterie, and have some dessert to catch up. read more

Coming from NJ/NY and moving to TN has been a struggle when it comes to finding good Italian cuisine... But guess what we found it along with the hospitality!!! From walking in and meeting Amanda at the front door, to being hosted by our Bartender, to being served by our waiter Brenner, to Andrew providing some incredible deserts this night out with my loved ones was second to none. Every dish was just outstanding and the service impeccable. If you have not been... I highly recommend you visit because everything is fresh and cooked on the spot daily, but the service is from the heart and it is shows. One of the best if not best meals my family and I have had since we've moved to Nashville! read more

Chrysalis is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in Franklin (and possibly all of Nashville if I'm being honest). The food is just delicious - we have never experienced a misstep - but it's about more than that. From the minute we walk through the door, we are always treated like friends. The low staff turnover in the time we've been visiting is a real testament to the work environment Andy has created here too. They are kind and unfailingly patient with guests of all sorts. It's hard to choose favorites from the menu but we especially like the So Too the Sage cocktail, the melanzana, the pan-seared rainbow trout, and Hayley's panna cottas. This is where we want to be when we're celebrating (even something as mundane as making it to the weekend), and it's where we want to be when we need to feel cheered up. It is my happy place each and every time. In a town full of great places to eat, Chrysalis really stands out from the crowd. read more

This place is so cute and the service was VERY good! The wine I had was delicious, and my husband loved his meal. The only thing I didn't love was my entre, I got the short rib, it just didn't have much flavor and the meat was mostly fat. But the appetizer was great and the dessert was great. I would definitely go back, I'd just get a different entre! read more

Great food and service! This is easily one of my favorite Italian spots in the Nashville area. The fettuccine Alfredo is so delicious!

I went here with a friend for my birthday and was blown away by the service, food, and cocktails. The amazing (get ready to hear that word a lot) service started at the door with the gentleman at check in. He was fast, efficient, and friendly despite it being a very busy (and booked) Friday night. Having arrived early for our reservation, we sat at the bar and had a cocktail while we waited. The bar service and cocktails were exemplary. I didn't catch our bartenders name, (she was a very sweet brunette with an undercut) but she was fantastic, on top of her section of the bar, great attitude, great service, and everything about the cocktails was excellent. The same seating host came and got us at the bar and seated us in a booth with Brenner as our waiter where the exemplary service continued. By this time we had a had a few cocktails (we were celebrating my birthday, don't judge! ) and were being less than diligent with placing our order. Brenner was attentive without smothering us and managed to make sure we never felt forgotten or rushed. When we did manage to order, the food came out fast and was both delicious and visually appealing. My friend and I were able to enjoy our night out and catch up in the amazing environment created by the equally amazing staff. In a time when quality customer service seems to be on the decline, Chrysalis absolutely raised the bar on service to a whole new standard. Well done, Chrysalis, you've gained a loyal customer! read more

We came here after reading recommendations for an Italian restaurant in Franklin. We made a reservation and went for dinner. The vibe is cool! It feels modern but casual and comfortable. We ordered cocktails and they came quickly and were perfectly mixed and balanced and served over a large ice cube. We started with half sod the kale salad! Perfectly portioned and so good! We each ordered pasta entrees and they were delicious! Our only complaint would be the wait to get our entree but it was so good we knew it had been made to order so the wait is worth it. We highly recommend this restaurant and we definitely will return. read more
