This restaurant was worth the 40 minute drive from Mt Juliet. For picky eaters like myself, the chef definitely nailed it on every dish! I had the seafood platter and from a Rhode Islander, I APPROVE. And for a pizza lover like my husband, he was in heaven! As delicious as the food was, the service was even better. Josh, was the perfect server. He made our night by just being a wonderful human. The owner was sweet and celebrated our 5th anniversary with us. We are very grateful for a memorable evening and will be coming back. P.S the cocktail menu is phenomenal! read more

We stopped in for a late light lunch. The restaurant is delightful! A great atmosphere and friendly staff! Felicia was a wonderful server- such a friendly personality and very attentive. We had the truffle mushroom toast, a kale salad with salmon and a house salad with shrimp. All were absolutely delicious. The salmon was cold perfectly! A great experience. Highly recommended!! read more

My fiancé and I just went here for dinner and it was INCREDIBLE! We got the focaccia (delicious with three different compound butters), house salad (unique with tons of great flavor), and he got the Veal Milanese (light yet tons of flavor) while I got the rainbow trout special (beautifully prepared and so fresh). We finished off with the cannoli which was incredibly rich and delicious and the perfect way to end the meal. Our evening was made by our wonderful server, Josh, who went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of an had a pleasant first experience dining at Chrysalis. We are already planning our next dinner here!! read more

The food is good, but the service is terrible. Even worse if you are a person of color. I went to the restaurant with two friends (all of color) and they completely ignored us. The waitress named Lissy never approached us when the table they gave us was in her area. However, she offered water and took the order of all the people around us. It is a shame that in the 21st century, there are still people who discriminate against another human being because of their skin color. I don't think that's an excuse for the behavior exhibited by waitress Lissy and bartender Felicia. A big thank you to waitress Lebo for taking our order and for the service. If you are black, you should not visit that restaurant. read more

Delicious modern Italian cuisine. Service was fantastic! Very quiet and easy to have conversations.

Superb! Made reservations for 4. Called and asked to add 2 more to the reservation and, even though they were packed, managed to accommodate. We were seated promptly, and, soon as we settle in, Felicia took our drink orders. Once drinks arrived, we ordered some munchies and, surprised as I was, the Watermelon Panazella was AMAZING! For our main meal, 3 of us order the Cioppino and, having lived in Italy for 5 years, was every bit as good as any I had there. Truly a wonderful dining experience, and Felicia helped to knock it out of the park! Well done! read more

We were visiting out of town but traveled thirty minutes to try this place. I'm glad we took the time to travel to it, because it was awesome! It was some of the best service I've ever had in a restaurant. The waiter was super knowledgeable, attentive but not overbearing. It was an A+ experience. The place itself was really cool Inside too and had a fun vibe. The food was excellent and beautiful as well. I would 10/10 recommend this place. Don't be fooled by the outside which kind of looks like a small strip mall... the inside, food and dining experience was just beyond! read more

First time visitors. Did not have a reservation and were seated at a table. Would recommend reservations on busier nights though. Staff was really friendly and helpful with the choices. For starters (sorry no picture) charcuterie board (Piatto) which was fresh and really tasty. The Meatballs were amazing and had a lot of flavor. The Vodka Diavolo was really tasty, full of flavor and did have some heat. The heat was not over powering. Great atmosphere and the again the staff was great. Compliments to the chef and the staff. read more

I have to admit, I was really skeptical of this place before I first visited - it's a modern Italian restaurant in a Cool Springs strip mall. Not your typical location for an upscale, fun, date-night-out, but color me shocked -- Chrysalis has done the the impossible and made a fun, hot restaurant in the 'burbs. I've gotten takeout from here once and lunch twice and all of my experiences have been exceptional. The interior truly makes you feel like you are in an upscale restaurant for a happy hour with friends or celebrating an anniversary. Everything here is made fresh to order, has a unique Chrysalis twist (the champagne pistachio dressing on the house salad should be sold by the bottle. It is so freaking good), and reminds me of eating in much pricier Italian places in bigger cities. The salicce flatbread comes out with oozy, delicious cheese and sausage and sauce and is not to be missed. I'd also really recommend the limoncello trifle for dessert, which is light, tart, and refreshing, even after a heavier meal. All that aside, the true gem of Chrysalis and the reason I will soon be a regular is their knockout bar program. From their house cocktails to standard cocktails, all are honestly just amazing, and every time I order a drink here I am shocked I am in Cool Springs and not a hard-to-get-into-bar downtown. The service is also incredible-- shoutout to bartender Jennifer who toured me through the cocktail menu and made just unreal drinks my second time here. They have happy hour specials every afternoon and days with whole parts of their drink menu on discount (cocktails on Tuesdays, wine on Wednesdays right now) right now. Indoor dining and takeout only and the staff does not wear masks at this point, if that is important to you. Chrysalis has been one of my favorite new, unique restaurants to the Brentwood/Franklin area and I will certainly be back for more! read more

Inventive food and drinks, ambiance was fantastic. My wife is gluten sensitive, and just about everything on the menu has GF options (except breads of course...). We dined at the bar, conversation with other guests, and with Ben, head bartender, was excellent. Ben is clearly passionate about mixology, and knows all about the spirits on the shelf behind him. Artist in action. We will be back! read more

Food was great, bartenders were amazing and drinks were top notch, especially if you like gins.

Just had a wonderful lunch at Chrysalis with a dear friend. Our favorite dish is their shrimp Alfredo. It is delicious. It had jumbo shrimp, mushrooms and arugula with a very light Alfredo sauce. Our waiter,Brenner, was excellent and very attentive. He had the bartender make our favorite cocktail which is a cosmopolitan with a splash of peach purée. DELICIOUS! We will definitely enjoy another lunch there soon. read more

The decor is very modern and clean. No old world Italian stuff hanging around. My husband and I had dinner there last night. We were blown away by how tasty the food was. We started with the Focaccia bread which was really good. He then had a Caesar salad and I had the house salad. Both were very well plated and my house salad had a zesty salad dressing that I loved. Our entrees consisted of Shrimp Alfredo over fettuccine that was delicious. My husband ate Saltimbocca and he thought it was very good. Dessert was a Limoncello Trifle - excellent! Service was also excellent. Our server was Ashley. We will be going back! read more

Everything about it! Best chicken Alfredo I've ever had! Also awesome service and laid atmosphere

I have been to Chrysalis twice and loved the atmosphere, the cocktails, the food and the service. I love that this is not a huge restaurant but more bistro like and the décor is so unique! The focaccia bread and home made Italian is delicious. The Fig and Goat Cheese pizza was a great starter and it was so fun to build our own charcuterie board. I have had the Shrimp Alfredo and the cioppino; both were excellent. My husband had a pork belly special and friends had a lamb ravioli. All were delicious. I don't know what they do to their cannoli, but if you have even a morsel of space left for a dessert this one will not disappoint. read more

This is such a great restaurant. Have been several times for dinner and lunch. Each time is better than the last one. We took friends their last night for their first time and they loved it. The food was great, drinks wonderful ( fabulous bartender!!)and Molly was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient with us. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I haven't written a review during COVID because I think restaurants deserve grace, but I'm writing this one because of COVID. My husband and I rarely go out to eat because we want to be responsible and safe. Williamson County no longer has a mask mandate but most businesses take precautions to protect their customers. When we got to Chrysalis, we saw masks so we sat down. However, after being seated, I noticed one server with her mask under her chin. I whispered to my husband that we should put our masks back on just in case she was our server. We did. She was. Even though we ordered with our masks on, she continued to keep her mask on her chin, even when we had to remove our masks to eat. Anyway, I know this masklessness might appeal to many in WC, but if COVID safety is important to you, this isn't the place for now. There were what looked like managers there last night, and yet, no one enforced mask wearing. That said, she was the only staff member not wearing a mask properly and it looks like you can order food to-go. The food was pretty good. I got the alfredo which had a generous portion of shrimp and my husband had a caesar salad with chicken, which he liked. There was one minor thing for me... I kept getting a strong smell of truffle oil. I don't know if it was our food or someone else's but the smell of truffle oil is so strong that it felt like I was tasting it, if that makes sense? I can't stand truffle oil, so next time I would ask what dish they use it in and avoid ordering that. The best part of the meal was probably the cannoli and the limoncello martini. I wasn't sure if I liked the cannoli at first as I was expecting a traditional cannoli, but the more I ate it, the more I liked it. The shell tasted kind of like toffee or something. It was very hard and sticky and sweet, but yummy. It's definitely a special and unique dessert, worth ordering. The decor, as others have said, is super cute. Also, it smells like a coffee shop, which is amazing, and the pricing is fair and reasonable. All-in-all, it was an okay experience because of the mask thing, but also, the service wasn't great. I'm cheering this place on but also disappointed that the managers who were on duty didn't pick up the task of asking their staffers to wear masks. I wish I would have been brave enough to say something or just take our meal to go, but I wasn't. read more

We were really hoping to give this place a crappy review so that we could get a witty clap back from the owner. BUT, not possible. We started with an Italian 75 (a twist on a French 75) and then ordered the truffle flatbread. Delicious! Then ordered one of the chicken dishes and a pasta dish. What I loved was how this restaurant is a "yes" place. I wanted to have some beef added to my marinara pasta dish, and well they happened to have veal meatballs so they added that! SO. DAMN. GOOD. Hubby wanted his chicken dish to be served over a bed of mashed potatoes. Yep they could do that, too! Top quality ingredients, ambience was great, and I appreciated how incredible our server Maria was. We can't wait to come back and try some other dishes! Totally recommend. Good portion sizes and the price were perfect! Oh and the 9 Oz wine glass option is brilliant :) PS-I'm a Pinot Noir junkie, would love to see that added to your wine list! read more

The absolute best. Lucy was our server who was amazing. Her recommendations were SPOT ON. We got the focaccia bread which tasted like a savory donut it was so good. We loved all three homemade flavored butters but the Kalamata olive one was my favorite. The vodka shrimp pasta with mushroom noodles was stunning. The flavors packed a huge punch with just the right amount of spice. We'll be back for sure because we didn't have room for desert and the menu was so good! read more

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe was cool, everything looked good on Yelp. We ordered several dishes to take back to the hotel. I'm not sure what spice they use in their red sauce, but it had a really, really awful flavor. We couldn't eat the eggplant parmigiana/pasta dish. Both of us literally spit it out. The polenta was flavorless and runny. Inedible. The Tuscan stew was pretty good, but just tasted like a can of beans. Barely tasted a broth, and it needed salt. The Cesar salad wasn't the best I've had or the worst. The best part of the meal was the salmon on top which was well seasoned. Overall a big disappointment and waste of money. We threw away 80% of the food. read more

How do I even describe the culinary pilgrimage that awaits you at this truly remarkable restaurant? Visited this restaurant for my birthday with a few girlfriends last night and had a great meal. Unique menu that is much needed in the Cool Springs area. The left side of the menu is appetizers/ sharable plates, the right side has options to make any dish (full portions) a sandwich, pasta or flatbread. Great spot for a girls night out but also could be a nice date night or family dinner. Owner stopped by our table and was very hands on- very knowledgeable on wine. I dropped the ball on dinner reservations for my mom's birthday and decided to make reservations at Chrysalis at the last minute, and I am SO glad I did! The staff members were incredible -- we'd go back just to have Brenner as our server again! All of his recommendations were SO good and our entrees were great. This new Italian eatery just opened in Cool Springs snd it was with much anticipation that I took two friends to dinner tonight. I was met at the door by s waitress who refused to allow me snd my guest to enter the restaurant without out masks ( which we all forgot). While required, the establishment did not provide Mack's so we had to scramble to find other establishments near by to provide them. We then back in snd sent less than 2 feet to our table, This aside, we were ready gif a great meal. The same waitress then informed us that there was no wine or cocktails available despite the on line menu offerings. The limited menu offered pasta and a few other items. We selected a number of cheeses and nests for our antipasto and asked gif bread which took a long time to get. I ordered the paparadelli with the chicken saltimbocca. The other guests ordered pesto bucatini with chicken and paparadelli pasta Alfredo with shrimp. In addition, I ordered the small Caesar's salad. The salad arrived with literally 4 Romain leaves , a few crumbled croutons and a minuscule amount of flavorless dressing, The saltimbocca was chopped up chicken with extreme salt soaked pasta. It was completely inedible and I quickly asked for a replacement. In the meantime, both Gherthe said their food was awful. The pesto dish was tasteless and bland. The Alfredo shrimp pasta was simply awful, we had to ask for salt to try to get some taste in the food. My replacement dish was the Puttenesca pasta with chicken which was a little better but very amateurish st best. There was no dessert menu but we told the cannoli was made in lace cookie snd the waitress had no idea if the filling was made with ricotta or not. After dealing dessert, made the mistake of ordering an espresso. I can't put into words how dissatisfied I was with even that! Simply horrid espresso. Thus was one of the worst meals I have had anywhere st any time. Maybe it will get better but it's going to take a complete overhaul in the kitchen and waitstaff. read more

Great place for food and drinks. I like the bar for drinks and meeting people - hanging out.

We had the marsala flatbread, the shrimp alfredo pasta, the burrata appetizer and creamed spinach - everything we ordered was fantastic! the creamed spinach is by far the best i've ever eaten! Amazing ! the service was great -the owner and manager came by to check on us. they have a charcuterie menu. lots of custom cocktails with not so Franklin standards - lots of unique options and plenty of gin choices. Highlights - the creamed spinach the Milkweed cocktail and the cannoli! 6 dollars for the cannoli - what ??? the cannoli was homemade not too sweet with a chrunchy shell. their prices are really reasonable too! What a wonderful surprise for us! We stumbled across this restaurant on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The drinks were tasty & our entrees were awesome. Everything is cooked fresh & it shows. I had the saltimboca with penne and it was very flavorful. The chicken was cooked perfectly & the sauce was a savory compliment to the pasta. My wife had the seafood feast & that was an appropriate name! It had salmon, shrimp and a generous scallop. My wife isn't a big eater & she devoured her plate. Her favorite was the salmon which was tender & cooked perfectly. We ended the night with a light tiramisu which was a fluffy & fitting punctuation to a great meal. The service was excellent & the room is just the right size to feel intimate. We'll be back! read more
