We had a great last minute date night at this new gem. The food is fresh, small bites and perfectly plated. Homemade pasta is amazing. We look forward to coming back soon. read more

Really wanted to like this place. Service is okay. Food, atmosphere, and price is not. Seriously one of the most disappointing date nights my husband and I have had. read more

We went to Chrysalis for the first time. We enjoyed the decor with a butterfly theme and a collage of various butterflies in glass on one wall. We were seated promptly, and the waiter brought us virgin drinks mixed per our requests which were delicious - a peach drink and a virgin mojito. We both ordered gluten free entrees, but the pesto one was a bit bland while the capers and garlic with artichoke hearts and asparagus was tasty. We shared a tasty arugula salad. We liked having gluten free options, but wish both dishes had been flavorful. No extra Parmesan or pepper were offered. read more

Fabulous! 5 star food and service! Wide variety of fine Italian food and the added unique option of build your own charcuterie boards. Full bar with only good wines to choose from. Small tasteful environment surrounded by butterflies and reminders of hope, peace and transformation. UPDATE: 2nd visit even better than the first!! OMG. Watermelon and goat cheese salad! It was SO good that I'm taking my son back tonight for more!!! The lemon drop cocktail and Limoncello Trifle were consumed too quickly to get a photo, lol. read more

Chrysalis - Watermelon and Goat Cheese Salad. It was even prettier before we dove our forks into it. - Italian Near Me - Franklin, Tennessee

This was an unexpected delight. Visiting Nashville my husband and I happened to pop in on this place. The service is next level. But the food is out of this world. As a southern NC cook, I'm difficult to please. But this place is unassuming and you can tell the chef knows how to push boundaries yet stay authentic to the Southern cuisine. I hope the next time I visit Nashville, they are still there. This will be my top choice coming. read more

We have loved Chrysalis, the service and food. Always excellent! This last visit was beyond disappointing. Two dishes were inedible. After sharing our thoughts with the staff, we were told that a new chef was being trained. Sure we understand training, but everything being sent out should be tasted and approved before sending out. We sent two plates back and expected the chef to make an appearance to apologize. We got very little in the way of apology, just an excuse. I don't know if we'll come back. What was our "go to" "we can depend on a great meal" favorite place in an area with few decent restaurant, has now lost our "#1 status" read more

The perfect place for six friends who haven't seen each other in ages to get together. The food was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was friendly and made great suggestions. I am from out of town, but if I was local, this spot would be in my regular rotation. read more

Went tonight for the first time. Great spot with a nice ambience, delicious menu, and great drinks. Will definitely be visiting again. It's great having a fresh take at a local restaurant because there certainly isn't anything around town like this! read more

Chrysalis - what's not to love! Great food for very reasonable pricing in a wonderful environment

This was a great new place. Anytime there's a new place that opens in the neighborhood, we make an effort to visit -- and I'm glad we did. There are a number of cocktail options and charcuterie board options. It'd be a great place to grab a drink and just talk over a cheese board. The entrees though are just as impressive. All of the food is delicious and can be served as three styles of dishes (pasta, panini, flatbread). Looking forward to going back! read more

Chrysalis is our FAVORITE spot for date night. We come at least once a month and are always so pleased. Our go-to meal is the Vodka Diavolo. Their menu changes with the season, so there are always fun new dishes to try. You can tell there is a real chef behind the dishes. The cocktails are always fantastic as well. For my birthday they gave us a complimentary tiramisu that was the best tiramisu I have had in a long time. We always recommend Chrysalis to everyone. It is such a hidden gem that brings in lots of locals. Definitely check it out if you haven't! read more

The food and service are superb at Chrysalis! We had the Caesar and House Salads (the Prosecco Vinaigrette dressing is amazing and half size is perfect for one person) and shared the Cioppino (a favorite of ours) which was very good and plenty of food for two. The dining area can get quite noisy during the 6:30 main dinner hour. The great food still makes for a wonderful experience for an evening with friends. (I still don't recommend for Valentine's, Anniversaries or other special celebrations for couples.) read more

Great time and great cocktails. Unique small plates you won't find elsewhere and great atmosphere

Love the people and the food! Will definitely continue to support anything Andrew does!

Chrysalis is absolutely impeccable, especially with its commitment to providing a satisfactory experience. This is the one location I can always rely on for memorable dinners and successful dates. read more

I am a naturally lazy person, so this review is two weeks belated- but the need to leave a review has been on my frequently ignored to do list every day since. My fiance and I dined at Chrysalis on a Wednesday night at 7 PM. There was no wait and we were seated quickly in a quite spacious and comfortable booth near an especially cute alcove featuring warm neon lights and velvet couches- and I immediately made a note to return one evening for cocktails only so I could get cozy in that corner. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely- though it's a quite large room with vaulted ceilings, the owners have managed to make it feel inviting and close. I'm not usually one to gush over atmosphere in a restaurant, my primary focus generally being to stuff my face, but I was truly blown away by the artistic touches and thought put into decoration and setting, especially considering that the outside of the restaurant is fairly unassuming. The entrance is set to greet you with a velvet couch that begs for a photo op, the ceiling is hung with twinkling lights, the bar is gorgeous solid marble, one wall features an expansive collection of pinned butterflies and another is a handpainted mural by a local artist. Then there's the bathrooms- clearly set for selfies! I was impressed before I ate a single bite! On the way over, I had already perused the menus, and was especially excited for the cocktails, which are as involved as any you would expect in a Nashville high dollar speakeasy- certainly not typical for an actual restaurant- and we were a bit disappointed to find that the establishment had not yet begun serving liquor. However, we ordered a couple of local beers, and they were served in the specific glassware for that beer style, which was a nice touch. We started our dinner with a build your own charcuterie board- the server brings you a list and a pen, and you check off the things you want! I am an absolute sucker for a meat and cheese board, and being given the opportunity to mix and match to my heart's content was such a nice surprise. We ended up ordering half the list, at least, and I was enamored with the pickled grapes, which had such an intense flavor that I couldnt leave them alone long enough for my fiance to get more than one. Our server also recommended the mushroom toast, which has to be my favorite item there. The presentation was gorgeous but looked to me like it would be hard to actually cut into and share- it was not. We destroyed that poor plate in maybe two minutes flat. The way the menu is set up for entrees allows you to pick an entree and then choose how it is served- over pasta (of which they have several types, made fresh in house), as a flatbread, or as a sandwich, if I remember correctly. We chose the osso buco, served over pasta, and shared it before moving on to a salmon dish. The food is incredibly well priced, both for the portion and for the quality. Between our appetizers, our salads, our two entrees and sides which we ordered at separate times, and then dessert, we must have had at least 6 courses, all of which arrived perfectly timed and perfectly temped, which is not an easy feat. For dessert, we chose all 3 options- date night turns us into ridiculous gluttons- and I was absolutely blown away by their tiramisu. It's easily the best I've ever had. My fiance has never cared for tiramisu, but this one he loved. The berry gelee was both beautiful and delicious, sprinkled with crystalized basil that sounded so strange but balanced the tart and sweet perfectly. The third dessert was a citrus cannoli that didnt really win my heart, but I've never been a huge citrus fan so it may just be better for someone else's palate. We were served espresso with dessert, pulled expertly from a verrrry expensive looking espresso machine, and the owner came by to gather our final thoughts on our experience (he had visited our table once before already, and appears to be very involved in making sure everything runs smoothly). The only concerns I had, he already had noted himself and had plans to fix in motion- such as the headlights from vehicles entering the parking lot shining directly into guests faces, for which he said they will be placing mirrors along the bottom half of the window, so that the room stays nice and open feeling without that terrible glare! He seemed appreciative of feedback and very driven to make his restaurant our new favorite spot. We cannot wait to return, especially now that cocktails are back in the menu ;) and I wouldn't be surprised if Chrysalis succeeds in becoming our very favorite date night restaurant. read more

We found Chrysalis Modern Italian restaurant in an online listing and decided to give it a try. It was an amazing experience. Our server went to extremes to make sure we had a great time and was especially sensitive to my dairy allergy. Food was outstanding and atmosphere was perfect. Highly recommended this restaurant for a fresh take on Italian fare. read more

The flavors were excellent, wait staff informed and helpful. However the bread was dry and disappointing. The pasta dishes were tasty but needed more sauce. I was also disappointed that the tiramisu was not 'ready'. Looked like a popular place! Atmosphere was great. Will try again. read more

We had an amazing meal at Chrysalis. The food and service were fantastic. We will definitely make this a regular dining spot for us.

Enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was tasty. Lebo was our server, and she was attentive and friendly. Great spot for Italian in Franklin!

Just moved here from GA and a great find. We all had different entrees from the Diavlo, Bolognese and Veggie Pesto everything was fantastic. Good prices for quality food. The fresh Tag was perfectly cooked al dente. Drink menus are diverse. Service was excellent and a nice quiet lunch for my sons birthday. Do yourself a favor and try it, we'lll be back for sure. read more

We wanted a nice lunch in the Cool Springs area and decided to try Chrysalis. What a treat! We were specifically looking for a burrata cheese appetizer, and theirs was divine. When we gobbled up the crostini that accompanied the cheese, the waiter was quick to offer more. My daughter chose a flatbread for her entree, and I went with their pesto pasta. So good. We will be back. read more

Great ambiance. Pretty good food. Nice assortment of wines. Can get kind of loud when it's busy making it very difficult to hear whomever you are dining with. We've gone twice. Ordered rosemary focaccia, Quattro formaggi both we would recommend. Dishes are the perfect size read more

Don't bother. Waitress was very nice but the food was terrible. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from . . .

My wife and kids ate there last night and it was great. Atmosphere is really nice. The food is delicious. We ordered the polpettine, melanzano, vesuvio and fig n pig flatbreads. All were super delish, but the melanzano and fig n pig were unbelievable. Our waitress was made great recommendations and was great. Highly recommend! read more

The food and service were both excellent. Must try the rainbow trout with brussel sprouts!

It was a nice ambience, food was ok, bread was not. Had the focaccia bread, not good, texture was off, more like cake or cornbread. Bread is everything at an Italian themed restaurant, need to upgrade that. Biggest thing that stood out was they don't have wrapped straws, so one of the servers brought us straws with his bare hands and put them in our cups, gross! He was not our server, he was helping her out, she did an amazing job, that was the highlight of the visit. read more

Fussy Italian. Food was ok but honestly would have been better if they weren't trying to make it extra special and trendy.

Service good. Food so-so. Probably will not go back. Too many options to go to so-so restaurants.

The ambiance, service, and food were wonderful. This was my second visit and both were super enjoyable. Don't forget to make a reservation. read more
