Great service. Very attentive. The meatballs were awesome and the cocktails yummy. We enjoyed the tiramisu for dessert.

Everything was amazing and Lucy made the experience even better. 10/10 would recommend this place for lunch or dinner. read more

Excellent food and service. Space is quaint, clean, dimly lit, it's cozy and inviting. We made a cheese board with the cutest selection card. Delicious Caesar salad and i had the eggplant over bucatini. My husband had a flat beard with chicken and prosciutto. Said it was great. Angela was our server she's a doll. So friendly. Kind and helpful. Super attentive. The manager stopped by to thank us and make sure everything was great! We had a nice date and will be back soon. Made reservations on Yelp. So easy read more

We generally enjoyed dinner, but there were some issues. Service was rushed with courses coming way too fast and before we had finished others. Pasta was terrific, tuna carpaccio was just ok. Wine list not great. For a neighborhood restaurant, it's very nice. We'll return but sure wish they would slow down the service! read more

My waiter was the best, but the items I found on Yelp were seasonal and not available. I'm from RI and am a big time foodie. I manufacture my homemade pasta sauce AKA Gravy and from the photos on Yelp I was thinking I had found a hidden gem. We had three different entrees and they all were flavorless. It was my 50th birthday and I was very disappointed. My cousin spent so much money. I felt so bad. read more

Staff is very friendly! Food was delicious- husband said his Caesar salad was the best he's ever had and I loved the bolognese and bread for two! Such a great restaurant- we're just sorry we don't live close enough to go more often! It's definitely a visit every time we are in Nashville, though!! read more

Wanted to send a "thank you" note to Hannah and the team at Chrysalis in Cool Springs, TN. Elise and I had a reservation for 1815, met warmly and immediately taken to our table. Great crowd, beautiful mural on the wall, comfortable furnishings, all great. Hannah, our server for the evening, promptly came over introducing herself and came back quickly asking if we were celebrating and thanking us for coming in just fantastic. We started with a cocktail. Me a Paper Plain and Elise ordered a Blood Moon rising and we loved! Went next to the panzanella, as beautiful as it was tasty, then went with the house made spaghetti pasta with the alfredo sauce and shrimp and then the butcher's cut of pork chop with polenta with a great recommendation by Hannah for the of Primativo wine which matched perfectly! Hannah was always available when needed but not obnoxiously which we valued. Finished with the limoncello trifle. Loved it! Please visit! I believe you will enjoy as much as we did! read more

If I could give this restaurant a standing ovation I would. It was a serendipitous selection on our part and we were delighted. Brenner, our server was worth 5 stars on his own. This young man is going places. It is obvious he loves what he's doing and if you are fortunate enough to get him as a server, you will understand what I mean. The food and presentation also easily merits a five star rating. It is fresh and made in house every day. Beyond the pale delicious. My husband, sister, and myself enjoyed the Bolognese, and if we could've licked the bowl we would have. My brother-in-law had the trout and he said it was really really super good. No lies. It looked wonderful. We shared a wonderful bottle of super Tuscan that was reasonably priced and very very good. And on top of all that we had to have dessert even though we were pretty full by this time. My husband and I shared the tiramisu .one word, Yum!! My sister and brother-in-law shared the cheesecake and honestly I'm not a cheesecake person, but wow did that look good. Coffee was excellent. We have literally zero complaints. The restaurant is charming. It is clean, and everybody does their part. Andrew, the owner stands alone on his own as the personification of graciousness humility and delight in what he is doing. And no we are not related. I wish we were I could eat like this every day lol. Don't take my word for it just go, I promise you will not be disappointed. read more

Creative flair. Limited menu options. Not what I think of as an Italian restaurant. But it was good food

We dined at Chrysalis tonight, it was our second time. Disappointingly, our experience tonight was not up to our first one. The house salad had very little toppings and the dressing was hardly noticeable. I had the halibut and it was fabulous, especially the sauce! My husband had the Saltimbocca Pasta. It was too sweet and marsala forward. The Tirimusu and Bread Pudding were both delicious. The service is outstanding and so is the ambiance. It's a lovely spot, hoping that tonight was just an off night. We will go back and hope that the next time is more like the first, won't be ordering the Saltimbocca though. read more

Hmmmm Meh.... wait I had to be reminded that I was in no means experiencing Italian food bliss but instead was fed food that did not reflect the prices and service of a fine dining restaurant. Let's be real this location has been churning for a while now - Thai, Mexican....etc every few years....I'd except nothing less from this place too. Everything we ate was 1. Either meant for people recovering in the hospital - bland and tasteless or 2. Either meant to send people to the hospital - severely undercooked. After $$$ down the Italian gutter - we were left to wonder - were we better off at Carrabba's or even Olive Garden? This was one of those hit it and quit it kinda experiences. We did hit it and now we've quit it!! Oh yeah - the one star was for the hostess who had the memory of a goldfish!! Bravo!! Ben Fatto!! read more

Absolutely one of the worst dining experiences ever; came from out of town for a wedding and researched reviews for restaurants in the area. One of two things is true...either there are some dishonest people here or no one here has ever eaten in an Italian restaurant. It was loud. Very loud. Been in sports bars during major games that were quieter. Apps and salads fine. The entrees almost inedible. I had the flounder. First, it wasn't flounder. Dry and with no flavor. Wife had the salmon. Same thing. Don't waste your money. If you think this place is good, do yourself a favor. Go to Olive Garden. You will love that. read more

Fantastic place great food, awesome staff, This is definitely one of my favorite places for dinner and a cocktail

3.5 Stars Pros: Great Atmosphere. Perfect Date Night. Eclectic, friendly waitstaff. True Northern Italian Food. The Bucatini was amazing & cooked perfectly. Why 3.5 stars - Overall, the food was solid but not spectacular. The "soup" was more of a pasta sauce than a soup. The salad had some great bites and other really salty bites. Both pastas had good flavor & as mentioned the pasta itself was amazing. But the pasta was overwhelmed by the amount of sauce. And, they didn't have iced tea (big negative in my southern roots book). If you go, definitely order the bread. We needed it with the amount of pasta sauce we had leftover. I would go back, but I'd try other restaurants in our area before making the return trip. read more

Andrew, the owner, took the time to walk us through the menu, since it was our first time! We were celebrating a birthday too. The dishes were well-priced and not too large, so that the 4 of us, could each taste several things. The pastas were fantastic! Were split a "made-2-order Charcuterie board to start with, and each item was pleasing. Finishing off with a House-made Tiramsou, that was to die for!! Truly a nice experience, and great food! Thanks, Andrew! read more

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend! We had the salmon limone with homemade fettuccine and pasta bolognese. We asked for old fashioned drinks made with tequila repisado rather than bourbon and they were perfection . Bread pudding for dessert was phenomenal. read more

We are visiting from out of state and saw this restaurant had great reviews so decided to give it a try. We were impressed. We went on a Monday night and did not have reservations. Lucy met us at the door and worked us in even though we had no reservations. Lucy stuck with us and she was AMAZING. She had such a great attitude and was so friendly. It was apparent she loves her job and takes pride in what she does. Her recommendations were spot on. We got the Burrata, meatballs and bread for two. It was all so very good. Hats off to the chef. Aside from Lucy (again, who was amazing), everyone else was great. The manager came by to see how we were as well as another waiter. This restaurant is on our list to revisit next time we come back to Tennessee. I would definitely recommend! read more

I have eaten here 5 times, but yesterday was my first lunch. The 4 times before, I have loved it. Great food, service, drink selection, and ambience. The food was quite reasonable for what you get, even if you were to do the small plate/tapas menu. Expect about $100 or more if having drinks and a nice dinner. However, my rating here was highly affected by the lunch. I was taking some coworkers out there to show them this cool place. We arrived at 11:30 on a Friday to no one there other than a server and cook. No music or lighting. We thought it was closed. It was somewhat odd, but no big deal. We sat down and were given menus which looked to be the dinner menus. The menu had just changed that day, and was a big surprise. Full priced entrees and very few flatbread choices. It was quite expensive for a lunch ($15-22) for just the entree. Nothing else included. While the food was good, the table was left a little confused as we left there for nearly $150 for 5 people for lunch, only one person didn't have water, no apps, no bread, no dessert. Plus, it was all men I brought and everyone absolutely licked their plates clean due to the medium-small portions. My whole point is although very good food, it was not worth it this time around at all. It kinda embarrassed me in front of my coworkers that we went there. I tried to get everyone to order more, but I'm sure deep down they were afraid that would make for an extremely expensive meal and they were just being polite. I may be back for dinner, but never again for lunch. The dinner is 5 stars actually, but it's hurt by the lunch's 2 stars. This hurt my confidence in this place a lot. Yeah yeah, I'm aware of inflation and labor costs, but either do lunch properly or don't open for lunch. read more

The food was amazing. Since we were sharing our main entrée, they were more than accommodating in bringing two separate dishes. Our service was provided by an excellent young man by the name of Brenner . He responded to all of our requests with "sure, of course, and no problem."All with a smile on his face.! we particularly like the fact that Andrew, the owner, was visible and friendly. All said it was a wonderful evening and we would definitely come back another time when we're in Nashville. in fact, we've already told another couple to try the restaurant. Well done Andrew! read more

Chrysalis is a unique Italian restaurant that takes an original approach to simple dishes. My family always goes for birthdays, and the food never disappoints us. The service is quick and the waiters/waitresses are kind and friendly. Almost five stars from me, the only issue I have with the restaurant is the pricing of some dishes. Overall a wonderful place to eat and drink. read more

Recently, we tried this place that is doing a take on modern Italian. The place itself has apparently been there more than a year, but I had never heard of it until recently. I wanted to really like this place and the ambiance was good, as well as the food, but it wasn't knock your socks off. I had the saltimbocca which had good flavor, but no extra Parmesan was added or even asked if we would like it and I think that would have intensified my like for it. The focaccia and different butters were good, but the texture was not what I think of focaccia as. The thing they did well on, was service. The waitress and manager were both very pleasant and personable. read more

We went for my son's 17th birthday and it took so long for drinks to come out (15-20mins), then a long time for food to come out, we kept having to flag our server down for anything as she clearly tried to avoid our eye contact. At the end, she tried to smooth everything over by bringing my son a free dessert for his birthday. We were there for at least 2 hours. This is the second time we've had a bad experience with this server. (Female w/large glasses). Our food was good, just very disappointed in the service being it was my son's bday and on a Thursday night (12/19/24). If we come back we will be sure not to be seated in her section. We've had much better experiences with other servers there. read more

A Malort's cocktail? Update: I suppose I should add, someone from our party did order the "if you know, you know" despite protests from our party and it was not good and had plenty of whisky enthusiasts in our group. As explained by the business manager's response; a half ounce of Malort's is roughly .40, Rittenhouse Rye averages $1 an ounce, and Amaro Montengro at about $1.40 an ounce. Plus, if you are just going out to cram the maximum amount of booze in a drink, there are far cheaper ways to do it and it will still taste just as terrible. I didn't find my review excessive or bitter but I can go ahead and add on. To lessen my "hyperbolic diatribe", although it was a fight to be told that. I still stand by everything below. But here's a little more. Everything we ate was fair, our server had the personality of a dinner place. Nothing remarkable about this place. The cocktail combined with the response of the business manager just reflects the pretentious vibe of the whole place. Side Note: If you have not had the displeasure of having Malort's, I promise you they did not throw back shots... No one does that for fun. Don't believe me? Just search it on YouTube. Original Review. I am not apologizing for this. Selling an $11 Jeppson's Malort's mixed drink should be a crime, maybe a federal offense. You can not take something that tastes like liquid baby poop that has been set on fire and cover it up with anything. It's not trendy, not cool.... It's repulsive. Not to mention, the mark up on the drink. If it is served with a 1oz pour; that is about .80 of booze. I thought the prices were pretty inflated for a strip mall restaurant. This place tries way too hard. read more
