My wife and I tried Chrysalis out while visiting friends in Franklin. We were pleasantly surprised by how great everything was! We loved the handmade noodles and the quality of the vodka sauce. The portions were great, and we were both full with just our individual servings. Our server, Lucy, was kind and welcoming. This definitely is worth the stop in Franklin and it was by far one of our best meals in our time visiting both Nashville and Franklin. It was a great meal for my wife's birthday. My friend and I shared a charcuterie spread with two cheeses the humboldt fog (goat cheese- kinda tastes like a mild blue cheese. Pairs well with the fig jam) and Ubriaco Classico which is a red wine hard cows milk cheese. We also got the Soppresatta and Calabrese Salami, marinated artichokes, roasted garlic, Peppadews (delicious lightly sweet red peppers), and Crostini. All of this was delicious. Let me start by saying I am a very picky diner. This is the best dining experience we have had in a long time in our area! Dropped in to celebrate our 28th Anniversary. The ambiance was really nice. Our server was amazing. We started with the Pork Belly Appetizer. It's melted in our mouths. Moved on the the Shrimp Alfredo with house made fettuccine noodles. The wife said it was the best she'd had. I had the Elk Rack with whipped parsnips and grilled asparagus. It was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Ordered the bread plate and again...fantastic. Finished the night with Tiramisu. The presentation of every plate we had was beautiful. I really can't recommend Chrysalis enough. It will be my number 1 for anyone looking for a place to dine. We had a nice experience at Chrysalis. Our server, Lucy, was very attentive and helpful. It has a cute ambiance despite being tucked into a strip mall. We started with the bread for 2. It had good flavor, but was a little dry. It didn't remind me of true Italian bread. I wouldn't order this again. I ordered the salmon pasta. They give you 3 choices on which kind of pasta you want. Only one of the options was homemade, which I find disappointing. I went with the homemade fettuccine and it was very good and cooked Al dente. The salmon was also cooked well. The dish had a lot of capers which made it saltier than I would have liked and the artichokes were huge which made it difficult for me to eat. Overall it was a solid dish. My husband had the short rib risotto. The short rib was good but the risotto was very bitter. I asked the server what was bitter and she said maybe the tarragon chimichurri? I don't know if it was that or they over cooked the lemon? If it was me, I would have sent it back, but my husband will never do that. My MIL ordered the carbonara and that was probably the best dish. It was made appropriately with egg and pasta was Al dente. Finally we ordered the homemade cheesecake for dessert. Definitely smaller than expected, but it was soooo creamy!! I didn't love the crumble on top as it takes away from the creaminess when you're eating each bite, but that's personal preference. I also thought overall pricing for the food was average which is good because most Italian places I find are way too expensive for what you get. Had the Polpettini - veal & pork meatballs in marinara sauce, Bolognese - veal, pork, san marzanos, parmagiano, and Vodka Diavolo - shrimp, sausage, crimini (mushroom), salabrian vodka rosa sauce, Espresso Martini, Paradise Found and Limoncello Triffle. 6/9/2025 Arrived at 6 pm hoping to have a nice dinner with my wife, 6:15 pm ordered two meals, margarita flat bread and halibut dinner. At 7 pm still waiting for dinner which finally came out around 7:10 pm. Flat bread was cold and halibut dinner was barely luke warm sitting and a bed of rizotto which was sitting on about a cup on water on the plate. Waiter told us it was a wine reduction not water, which I beg to differ, no matter it was all cold/ Luke warm at best. The manager came over and apologized and said he'd give us a free dessert and walked away. We then told the waiter it was not acceptable, and the manager came back again and said if we would have made a reservation it would have been better and tried to lay the blame back on us, he picked up our plates and walked away with no more apology saying he would not charge us for dinner, so we got up and walked out. How a reservation would have made a difference I don't know. What a waste of time !!! Also the pricing on meals was more than $$ given above. So holy crap it's a good thing this didn't exist when I lived in Franklin, because they would have all of my money. This place is a double threat. The cuisine is amazing. First of all we thought we made the reservation for 5 but they only had us down for 4. The hostess gave us zero fuss looked at the computer and said, "no worries, we will make it happen".... In a era where attitude can set the tone for a good meal or bad experience I'd have to say this was a breath of fresh air. Now the food; AWESOME. This is a hybrid tapas place and the food did not disappoint. If you're a picky eater, now worries, something you like is likely on the menu. The homemade pasta was outstanding, cooked perfectly. At first glance, it was an upscale, intimate restaurant. Sweet decor and a very well stocked bar. If you're looking for a nice restaurant you can bring your kids to this might be the place for you. I didn't expect it to be a restaurant where kids would be screaming at several different tables but I guess it's more of a family place than I expected. And obviously the restaurant staff can't be responsible for parents allowing their kids to roll around on the ground and scream. The staff was super nice but pretty frazzled even though it wasn't that busy they seemed disorganized.I kept them three stars for trying really hard but we actually left before we ate because it took so long. We sat for 23 minutes before someone took our drink order. It seems like there's a trend to have to lights turned all of the way up at restaurants these days. But for me I'm looking for an entire experience. I love good food great wine and a nice ambience. I think they could definitely benefit from dimming the lights and putting in some SoundCloud dropped from the ceiling. We stopped by a few nights later but again the team seemed frazzled. We were walk-ins and there were only four tables with people but the hostess asked us to wait while she checked to see if she could seat us. She never came back. I had an opportunity to have dinner here during a recent visit to Nashville. It's a cute Italian spot located in what appears to be a shopping plaza. Cute decor with an open kitchen. I absolutely loved the mural on the wall. Now on to the food. I started off with focaccia bread. It came with 3 types of flavored butter and it was hard to choose a favourite. They were all tasty. I liked that you can have your meal made as pasta, panini or pizza. More places should do that. I opted for my old stand-by of Italian sausage with penne. However, there were several other types of pasta to choose from. My dish was delicious, as was my side of broccoli. Can't say enough about our dining experience tonight!!! The atmosphere has a fun vibe perfect for dinner with friends. The menu is Italian with an elevated twist. The focaccia bread and butter trio is spectacular and the house salad was so delicious. And all the pasta dishes we tried were fresh and yummy.
