We visited this club Saturday, June 16th…read more I called ahead; asking about packages & hours the club gets busy. They answered all my questions and mentioned there was free entry with passes on their website. Most clubs are in rather seedy areas - but Sugar 44 almost looks out of place nestled between a McDonalds and a Wells Fargo. This is a very small club; and the free parking is commensurate with that. We arrived at about 8:30, and parking was available; but when we left a couple hours later, it was a bit difficult to get out. We felt safe despite the poor lighting. The club entrance is on the side, under an awning. This is a walk-in, seat yourself scenario; there are no hosts or people to bring you in. As you go in, the bar will be in front of you with a few TVs above showing sporting events. The bar appears to have seating for about 12 people. To the right of the entrance is the curtained VIP dance area. The DJ is visible to the side of the bar and the main floor continues on to the left. The floor is a bit crowded due to the small size and amount of furniture. We estimated about 12 tables flanking the small stage; which itself had seating for maybe 10 patrons. There is a single small stage at Sugar 44 with a single pole; enough room for a single dancer to do a good show without having to cover a lot of ground. The music was reasonably diverse & we appreciate diversity in all things; including dancers and music. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained. We enjoy meeting and getting to know the staff at the clubs. Our server, Savannah I believe, showed up right away. We liked her. She took good care of us. Soda was $5, drinks $9-10. They didn't offer any sort of "date night" packages or small group offerings so we just ran a tab. They do have bottle service for large groups, though. The drink quality overall seemed ok. We like a real diversity in club talent; variations of styles, body shapes and sizes -- we really enjoy getting to talk to them and get a sense of their personalities. There was a pretty small pool of dancers when we arrived (understandable - we were early). Better by the time we left. Overall, we found the diversity and "quality" of dancers overall to be "fair". Most ethnicities were represented and there was a good range of body types; large and small breasts, short and tall ... what we didn't see were more to the extreme sides; the "beach blondes" nor "pierced tattooed bad ass brunettes" The Gal loves so much. The "girl next door" was missing too. We love great pole work and Sugar 44 is above average. Several dancers were extremely energetic and performed very well. The dancers as a whole were "6s" and "7s" with a few exceptions. The club is low pressure for us as a couple. We were only approached once and she was friendly. We bought her a drink and chatted her up. I wouldn't call it "couples friendly" - regulars got a lot of attention. Not recommended for first-time couples. No VIP this visit, but we did get information to share with you. VIP requires a $20 "wrist band". These grant you access to VIP areas. The dancers will then give you private VIP for $25/song. The songs do not seem "unnaturally shortened" here. There are also "Champagne Rooms". One VIP area has a large privacy curtain and appears to be able to service 8-10 guests; each have a very small divider between them. I am not sure it would be comfortable for couples in there. I'm hoping the area behind the DJ offers something more couple friendly. There are table/floor dances available at $10. We'll update this review when we actually get VIP time. The club is ok for couples; perhaps with repeat visits we'll get more attention like the "regulars" seemed to get. We were treated well by staff and talent. We will most likely be back.

This is the second time I've seen this happen. This is a show that is mature and adult in nature. It's inappropriate to both show children and put the performers in a position where they have to choose between performing striptease for minors or refuse to perform. Personally, I will be leaving the show next time if I discover children have been admitted again and just eating the cost of the ticket. The owner must be fully aware and is allowing this situation to exist. The show itself was very good, but I can't enjoy a show under these conditions.

I usually like to catch the early show cause the crowd vibe is a little bit chiller. However, I've never had an issue at this establishment and will continue to catch my favorite comedians here. As I do think they extent a diverse roster of comedians. The last time that we attended, we actually ordered some food. And I really enjoyed the wings. I thought they did a really good job on the buffalo wings and the sauce was very tangy and the wings were fried hard as requested. All in all, it's a really good establishment with a parking lot and there are other places to dine and eat, near the establishment.

I was also one of the first people in line, so I politely asked the host if I could move. She told me I could go to the back of the line. I asked for a manager, and about 20 minutes later he came over. I explained the situation nicely and asked if I could see the other tables to see if there was somewhere I could actually see. He kept telling me it didn't matter because the people at those tables were "his height." I asked again if I could just look, and he said, "No, I don't think that's necessary," followed by "I don't need to." When I asked why he was being rude to me, want me to have a bad time , He literally said "That's your choice." Then when I asked for his name, he refused to give it to me. I asked again and he said, "I don't have to do that." I ended up asking a server and the managers name is Micah. I'm literally looking around right now and seeing open seats where we could have been moved. I was trying to be as nice and reasonable as possible, and I honestly don't understand why I was treated this way, I am literally tearing up right now. Micah was extremely unprofessional, and unfortunately I don't think I'll be coming back because of my treatment.

By the time we scanned the QR code and found a song it was already hours long -- we went out into the main part of the fairly small bar area and got a drink but then ended up leaving because it was going to be way too long -- plus we didn't really fit the theme -- oh well, the karaoke looked good -- there is a stage (I don't like when everyone sits at their seats) -- so maybe I will be back on a different night, when I check the theme, haha.

Waaaay to close to showtime to do that. Actors never left the hotel, so clearly gammage knew there was an issue well before 30 minutes. But they didn't both to text, email, or post of social to give a heads up the the THOUSANDS of people who made the drive. Zero excuse for not communicating as soon as they knew the show was likely being cancelled. Gammage management needs to be replaced for how they dropped the ball. PS: Oh, and 12 hours after the show was supposed to start and still no email or social to even acknowledge the cancelled performance. Shame on you!

I haven't been to Christies since 2007. Back then it was incredible. I went back this past Saturday night 2-23-12 as part of a birthday party and what a disappointment. We decided during dinner to go and we called to find out what the cover would be and were told over the phone that it was 10 dollars each. Upon our arrival we were informed that it was actually 12 dollars and not 10 dollars. Nothing like a little bait and switch to start your night off. We asked if at the very least that the birthday girl could get in free..... no chance... she has to pay too. So we all go in and as usual it is a beautiful well maintained establishment. But wow... the girls look like they got into a little too much of Walter White's Breaking Bad stash (crystal meth).... These women look like 75 pound skeletons with bolt on surgically enhanced breasts. If you like skin and bones then these are the girls for you. On top of all that these women were so tweaked on meth that they were all miserable. Seemed they didn't want to be there at all and they all had a sour puss on their face. The energy in all of their dances was severely lacking. The usual pestering for a lap dance was noticeably missing. Usually the girls are bugging you every minute or two for a dance but in the 3 and half hours we were there only two girls asked anyone in our group of 7 if they wanted a dance. Of course we declined due the gross skeleton factor. Although the fact they weren't bugging us turned out to be a positive thing. On a stranger note, the ladies we were with were getting into the music and were dancing.... suddenly they were told by the bouncers that they couldnt dance in the club because it is competition for the dancers. Not really.... the ladies in our group were much hotter than the dancers... LOL. Now let's get to the beverages.... All I can say is wow!!!! 8 beers and one diet coke... SIXTY NINE DOLLARS !!!!! WTF... That's $8.62 per drink, quite a profit margin. Not to mention I foolishly opened a tab and am really quite certain that I only 5 beers but hey they said I had 8 and I really didn't want to argue about it. It's my own fault for opening a tab. In closing I would not recommend this place unless you enjoy women who are so strung out on crystal meth that they look like skeletons and you like overpaying for grossly overpriced drinks. Our group will never return to this establishment. read more

I was a dancer here, but I started off as door girl during the day. I'd get a first hand experience of Bill being the most racist manager I've seen. I've worked at 7 other clubs and this one is by far the worst. I have been traveling and hasn't been in for a few months and decided to work a couple of shifts since I was back in town. I've never had any problems with the Night Shift. So if you're a dancer or customer my advice is to go in the night time. Anyway, I could go on to list different instances where girls were not hired based on their color of skin and weight. I'll instead state my last straw. I was working day shift and this was a very slow day. Security was at the bar and I had been with a couple that came in for a while. I decided to get up and use the bathroom and as I was walking in a guy asked where I was headed to and I told him I needed to use the restroom. As I go into the restroom he proceeds to follow me and I tell him to get out. He tried to force himself into the stall with me but that's when another dancer came out and saw him. He decided to then leave the womens restroom. I used the bathroom and went straight to the manager. The manager immediately told me to point him out and as we were looking for him he approached us and said he was said he was sorry and he shouldn't have done that. He excused himself from the club and he walked himself out. The manager didn't tell him to not come back and security was still behind the bar. It wasn't until the manager started accusing me of leading the guy to the womens restroom that security came out. I want to say that I was very scared of what that guy was going to do to me in that bathroom. In no way did I entice the man to come after me like that. I'm really upset that the club manager would think I'd do something like that after I had JUST explained my hurt of the situation. I was lucky that a girl come out to see the guy in time but there was still no rush to come get me. My safety and the safety of other girls is not a priority here. read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Please don't come here OR WORK HERE . You might not be able to tell by first impressions because the place looks nice inside & the girls are decent looking, but the managers that run this place are SEXIST, and RACIST, as well as most of the employees here. ( bartenders & front door workers ) First off they falsely accused my friend of "smoking drugs " in the bathroom , after one of the dancers that was working there walked out of the restroom who looked like a straight up tweaker, my friend doesn't even do drugs like that and is more heavy set so that didn't make sense. Then asked us to leave after he falsely accused us of " smoking drugs " , afterwards then stating that we needed to leave because we weren't men and can't be there without a man ? That's not a law in the city of Tempe , so therefore it's sexist and they are racist towards Hispanics & people of color . I've heard and seen it first hand up front from multiple employees, and customers would tell me the same thing.notice how no black women work here ? Weird huh Secondly, The managers are sexually harassing the dancers who work here I've seen them flirting and touching the girls who work here inappropriately, and have been told by multiple girls who work here that the managers ask the girls if they will trade sexual favors for things. On top of that I overheard the managers talking in the office that they need to stop hiring heavy set girls or " larger girls " because they think they are ugly. read more

Once again. If there was an option for zero stars... that would be my choice. Customer/dancer from this place eager to tell you the truth about Tempe Christie's Caberet! As a customer you'll be greeted with rude girls and slow service. The girls here will steal and scam any man dumb enough to fall for it! So beware! As a dancer it's endless! It's extremely racist you'll only see a certain type of girl here... if you're a black women you won't get hired. They are super judge mental so if you are "overweight" you most definitely won't get hired. Many girls have heard the main manager Bill making fun of a girl he thought was too "fat". Security in the day (Marc) extremely rude and put off, he constantly harasses the girls for tips even if there is no money coming in. Very disrespectful. As a female you will NOT be safe here. Security and management only care about money and not the girls who keep the club running. A man walked into the womens restroom and tried harassing a girl to the point of crying.. the manager blamed the girl!!! They didn't even ban the creep! They allow extras to happen in the back even though multiple girls have been caught by the police. They run this place only for your money and they DO NOT give a single care about you or anyone else safety or enjoyment. Needless to say we will never be back and i recommend to go to other strip clubs in the valley.... And to Christie's I hope you learn to treat humans better and run your business better. read more

Does look good from the outside and the inside.... But had the same problem twice.... The girls there are not great and will charge you for more lap dances than what you have .. This has happened twice ... to me at the sameplace ... Once with this girl called Brazil (Claims to be from LA and wants to be in Vegas ) another names Ginger a MILF little old.... I had two lapdances from them and I was done with her ... but then they started telling me that I had 5 lap dances and they would just not leave from there with the money of 5 lap dances ... I didnt really want to make a scene there but then ... I behaved like a gentleman and gave her the money .. which she had not earned ... May be she needs her boobs done .. feed her kids ... what ever the reason is ... this is not the place I would like to go again and give them a third chance ... two time the same incident .. I am donw with that place....and would not recommend anyone to go there... and I really dont want the girl to promote the private room during the dance .... all the girls are only interested in having a private dance in a room ...its all about taking every $$ out of ur pocket and not giving the best service ... there are better places in phx to go and have fun ... read more

This used to be my favorite club in AZ, definitely not anymore. The last couple months this place has gone down hill fast. The new guy running it I think his name is Steve is rude and could care less about the customers, the girls are old, overweight or they don't speak any english at all. Christies used to have the hottest girls in the valley but not now. The only person that was helpful was the female manager but I forgot her name. If she was smart she would go to a better club she's wasting her time in this dump. You'll be lucky to find one attractive girl among all the old overweight ones. Doesn't matter when we go in the club is dead maybe 10-12 customers tops. Don't waste your time and money. Check out any other club and you will be better off. Clearly the owner doesn't care about the club and it's reputation any more. Sad. I also forgot to mention how terrible the music was. They used to play all top 20 and classic rock alittle bit of everything but now is all hardcore rap full of vulgar language and inappropriate words. No one is going to want to listen to rap for longer then a few minutes and lately thats all these guy play. read more

Wish I could give this place negative stars. Ladies seriously DO NOT work here. Ive worked at a couple clubs and this is by far the most unprofessional place I have ever been. The club is beautiful and some of the staff is extremely nice but the manager Steve is a serious creep. He is inappropriate says creepy things and wanted to take a picture of me when he hired me on his personal cell phone. Seriously this can't be legal. I hadn't even worked a shift and I was already asked to hang out with him, take a picture and he said some of the creepiest things to me. Seriously he's older then my father WTF. I recommend Bourbon Street the club is gorgeous and the people are extremely professional and make you feel comfortable. I will never go back to this place as long as I live. read more

I tried Christie's and it was a great experience! I was expecting the typical trashy club and I was wrong! Christie had excellent service and friendly employees! The club was well kept and clean! The food was deceit and a two for one happy hour!The gals were beautiful and classy!The prices are reasonable for the the high quality you get! Not like the overpriced Vegas crap! I just left there..I went in on dayshift and was really happy I took my lunch break there.. I walked in the manager was welcoming and actually had a good vibe..the food was great..the dancers actually had me stay later than I wanted to because they actually treated me like a person than walking wallet. They didn't rush me or make me feel pressured..music was great the DJ was playing all the classics and even sprinkled in some newer music but I didn't mind it at all because the whole time it felt like a day party..I will be taking more lunch breaks there.. read more

Worst strip club ever! Over priced drinks! Man-faced and fat strippers! We were there 1.5 hours and not one stripper approached our table or any table in out vicinity! Not that I would have wanted to get a lap dance from a man faced cow, but I did have a pocket full of cash and a drinks in me, so I probably would have. Too bad for them. Been here's many times and it's by far the best experience I've had every time. From the minute you walk up to the entrance, during your stay and all the way up until walking out the door everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Solid prices and great service. The attitude of the doorman here was a welcoming one when I got out of the taxi, felt comfortable, The cover charge is reasonable, and really enjoyed the layout of the stage, the stairs coming from the second floor, the position of the chairs around the stage, the bar behind the stage. And the chairs and tables out and about the perimeter of the set-up. Kinda makes you feel like your on TV with the arrangement and atmosphere of the place. Like how the dancers on the stage welcome the next contestant coming down from the stairs. Nice for the girls probably makes them feel not so awkward. Yeah we can complain about 3/4 song being played, but come on the lap dances are only $10.00. If you do the math $20.00 buys you 1 and half dance. I was on my second drink when the girl I wanted meet came on stage. After her performance I went up to her and asked for a lap dance. She is cute, nice smiles and a sweet personality. We talked during the lap dance and asked about the VIP. She took me upstairs introduced me to her manager, went around and she explained the package deals. The dancer and I agreed on the $400.00 one and I let the dancer decide whether we could have a free bottle of champaine or wine. Not really a champaine drinker but she likes orange juice with hers, I tried it and liked it. The first hr was over, we agreed on a second hr and the management treated me very well. I had a great time, sure, I spent money but I saved and prepared for this out on the town event. Wanted my trip to AZ something special and this establishment and the beautiful dancer I spent two hrs with was all worth it. I found out money buys you the finer things in life. Lets keep policy policy not add and take away whenever we feel like it. I just looked at her like she was crazy and left. No need to didn't fight it, just thought it was odd.

It's 5pm and I pull in the parking lot and there is plenty of space to park which is nice. But the parking lot is empty, except for staff vehicles. I'm greeted by an awesome door girl, she's polite and I compliment her on her very nice boots. Since this club is being promoted heavy on social media by promoters and dancers alike, I told myself they deserved the benefit of the doubt, my review is as follows. My 0-5 scale is simple. 0=Disgusting / 1=Dirty / 2=Poor 3=Ok / 4=Great / 5=Excellent. Cleanliness Overall: 2 Kitchen = Idk I wish I could see it because of how the Restroom was, hope I don't get sick. Main floor = 3. Could have used a vacuum but Ok overall. Restroom = 0. Only 2 of 5 dispensers had soap, it needs to be deep cleaned, disinfected, and oh the smell in there was really bad. Staff: 3 Chef = 4 , determined by food taste, don't know who made it DJ = 0. Non-existent Manager = 4. Polite, thanked me for coming in. Bartender = 1. Inattentive, Rude, Self-Absorbed, Phone in hand the whole time. Door Girl = 4. Polite Dancers: 2 Pole Entertainment = 2. Still learning apparently Only had 2 dancers , neither of which introduced themselves. Meal: 3 Food = 4. Looked and tasted great, portions could have been bigger for price paid. Drinks = 2. Can't make a Decent Long Island. Small glass for $12 Service: 1 Bartender = 2. Poor service, no tip. Waitress = 0. Non-existent Music: 1 Bartender just plays whatever she wants on her phone. Vibe: 2 Hostile Value: 2 Overall : 2 Summary What I would do if I owned or managed the place 1. Replace the Bartender, the promoters, the Dancers, and find a good DJ. 2. Hire a company to deep clean the entire club, especially the restrooms. Maintain it clean. 3. Remind everyone who works there that the customers are willing to spend money when they are happy and being attended, this should be priority #1, there are many other clubs where they can have a better experience. In order to attract and keep clients regularly. As for me, I will no longer be returning until it's been restaffed and cleaned. For now Crazy Girls for lunch it is.

I should mention that I've never really been the bar/club type gal, but whenever friends drag me out, I'm game once in a while, lol. I had a nice buzz going on when we arrived, but my friend told the rest of us not to "act drunk" because they WILL NOT let you in if you show any signs of being drunk, so be warned! We didn't stay long, but we had a drink each, went out on the dance floor for a few minutes and then went to our next stop. This place is pretty big, so next time I want to explore more areas of it. If you're looking for something to do downtown Phoenix, this is the place. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Trivia nights are fun, drinks and food are both discounted while Trivia is going on. Their food is exceptional (especially for a dive bar), and especially when their Lead Cook Donovan is working. Their bartenders Hannah and Christian are the perfect Duo, extremely friendly and completely set the vibe of the entire place making you feel welcome, ALWAYS in a contagiously good mood, and always laughing about something. These two have a way about themselves that every bar owner can only hope and dream to find as qualities/attributes in their bartenders, and it wouldn't surprise me if they've gained a solid fan base/following of regulars by now. Between Donovan's stellar food, and Christian and Hannah's good vibes i can't help but make this my go-to spot for a cold beer or Irish car bomb. Cheers guys!
