We had a great time seeing Joe Dombrowski! The service was good, the staff were really friendly, and the food and drinks were awesome.

Tempe Improv Nice intimate venue to see a show and be as close as you want to the stage or performer. Stan Chen was one of the opening acts that is a local, he did a great job and was excellent to listen to. Wonderful local humor and great delivery. Jiaoying Summers was as good as expected, she starts off her show with her comedy side and then ends with her "what species are you?" So funny and if you want to be a part of her show and are Asian, sit toward the front, you will certainly be spoken to as part.of.her show. Ordered endless sodas that came out in a carffe, of course could not drink the entire thing. Pretzels were nice to have, good size warm and soft, go.for it French Fries also a nice appetizer to have with the pretzels Was a great evening of entertainment and laughter. Have fun

Wings. Take a close look friends, this plate will cost you $18....ugh fine, $17.95 (basically the same thing as $18) - Fried chicken wings served on a rectangular plate with a side of creamy dipping sauce and celery sticks, likely at a restaurant or bar.

If you're looking for a quick review - entertainment was amazing! Go for that but don't plan on going for the food and drinks. Overpriced, cold, and "meh". Oh you saucy devil...you want more! Ok ok...read in... Let's start with the obvious ...I searched far and wide to get an actual breakdown of what the "2 drink minimum" means. Because if you're going to make a 2 drink minimum policy, for gods sake, just be transparent about what fulfills that. I didn't find it anyplace (even asked that lil' AI fellow on their website). Let me share what I didn't know until I sat down at my table... *1 bottle of wine - fulfills the 2 drink minimum for 2 people *1 bucket of beers- fulfills the 2 drink minimum for 3 people *Everything else, ya gotta order 2. *No, a glass of water doesn't count but a bottle of water will (but come on, you knew that ) Personally, I think the drinks are pretty overpriced, especially if you're requiring me to get two. And before you come for me, the red wine I got is $11 a bottle in the store and they're charging $50. A soda is $8. A margarita is $18 (ugh. Ok it's $17.95 but let's be real, that's $18). It's clear....ya'll are serving some SERIOUSLY overpriced drinks. Food wise- eh. The fries were also overpriced and cold, BOTH sets that we ordered. The wings were decent. Again, not worth the price. Need a visual? Check out the menu prices for the restaurant right next door....compare them to this place's prices.... And I can say, the quality far exceeds at the restaurant next door. (Don't @ me with "oh but this is a comedy club"...I can tell man, the food and drinks are a joke.) If the prices could just drop the price a few bucks, it would be awesome. Like $11 for a margarita, maybe $8 for fries? I can promise you, my drunk a$$ would order more than 2 drinks and a round of fries for everyone. Oh! There's also a 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Overall, yea, you should go, it's a fun thing to do! But realize the food and beverage are pretending to be five star steakhouse when they're really a fast food joint owned by your weird uncle Sal.

It has been a few years since I have been to the Tempe Improv and everyone in my group had a great time at the Nicki Glazer show. We got there early and had a reserved table for cocktails, appetizers, and dinners before the show. Service was excellent and it was a great night.

We love going to the Tempe Improv. We always have a good time. On this visit, we did not purchase tickets because we only plan to go to dinner at the restaurant that is next-door. By the way, that restaurant is fantastic! We purchased tickets online while we were eating. It was very easy. The line outside can get pretty long. But once the doors open, the it moved quickly, and we waited less than five minutes to enter. Our server was very kind and helpful. We did not feel like drinking alcohol so he helped us navigate the menu so we could fulfill our two drink minimum. My husband ordered soda and I ordered still bottled water. My husband and I did not like that we could not sit next to each other. We had to sit across from one another and the tables are very very close together. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back.

    Let's get our laugh on

Ask the Community - Tempe Improv

Is it cold at the location?

No. It was very comfortable inside when I visited.

Is a Covid vaccination card required to enter?

    No, it is not.

So 2 drinks minimum per person attending? If there were three of us it's a 6 drink minimum?

Yup. That's the math. Drinks can be soft drinks if that helps.

    Are 18 year olds allowed?

Yes. It has been my experience that people 18-21 can see the show. But they are sat at a table that no one is drinking alcoholic beverages. This is the way it was years ago. I would call and double check because management has changed.

I just wanted to leave 5 stars to help compensate for the amount of people complaining about the 2 drink minimum.

We actually got there around 2:30 PM, and a line had already started forming, but once the doors opened, everything moved pretty quickly and smoothly. With the Royalty package, we received VIP badges, and after check-in, we were welcomed at the entrance and given a colored crown (which determines your team and seating section). You then move through a line for photos (not free--I paid about $25 with a deal), and afterward you have about 30 minutes to walk around, shop, and grab drinks before the main arena opens. Once seated, our host greeted us and got us settled. The food was actually better than I expected! The chicken was huge and tender, the potatoes and buttery corn were really good, and even the soup was decent. The only thing none of us enjoyed was the dessert--it tasted like a frozen éclair and wasn't our favorite. I did appreciate that they offer boxes if you can't finish your food. As for the show, it was just okay from an adult perspective--kind of cheesy and repetitive at times. But honestly, the boys had a blast, which made it worth it. The one downside for me was how often staff came by trying to sell items like light-up swords, flowers, and flags--probably every 30 minutes or so. Even after saying no, they'd come back offering discounts, which got a bit annoying. Overall, we had a fun time and it was a great experience for the kids. Would I go again? Probably not--I feel like it's more of a one-time experience--but I'm glad we did it!

I still enjoyed my time each time even though we were probably the youngest as someone got my husband and I tickets here for my birthday the past two years. The music was fantastic and we saw the variety show and the Grand Finale show and I enjoyed seeing multiple genres of music. The lead singers and musicians were phenomenal, and I absolutely loved the costume changes. The outfit changes really held my attention and was a great part of the show. The food, however, was just okay. I wouldn't come here for the food alone, but rather for the overall experience and to do something different. The meal included vegetables, potatoes, mashed potatoes, spinach cheese ravioli, chicken Parmesan, pulled pork dish, and a pineapple fish dish. This was the same food both times we went, so I'm not sure if they ever change it, I wish they did for a change. The pulled pork and cheese ravioli were good, but I wasn't a fan of the other dishes. The chicken Parmesan was probably the worst I've had as it wasn't at all what I expected from a traditional chicken parm. Dessert is a slice of chocolate cake that's already at your table when you arrive. I did think it was a nice touch that they pass out foil before the show ends so you can take it home and not waste it. The recommended tip listed on a sign at the table is $5 per person, so in addition to your ticket price, expect to pay at least that much extra. Drinks are also not included, so that's another added cost. Overall, this is a great experience, more so for 50+ and would make a fun gift, especially for a couple looking to do something different. I wish they had a family friendly show where it encouraged families with kids as I could see my kids who love music at 2 and 4 enjoying the show and dancing! I sat about in the middle of the theater and had a good view of everything. I really think most seats will be just fine!

(Would have been 3 Star review, but I gave an extra star for the company cast)…read moreThe Senior Center in Buckeye hired this company to do a "50s Sock Hop gone sour" themed party. It was a fun event, the hired actors were good and the food was decent. I don't know if the Senior Center provided the food, or if it was part of the show cost. Regardless... if you've never been to one of these murder mystery shows, it can be extremely confusing. The actors gave each table a hard book folder with notes in it, they chose one person from each table to be a "suspect" of the murder. Not a whole lot of explanation goes in to what each suspect is supposed to do. You really have to read the notes in the folder. I was chosen as a suspect and I needed to say specific things when all the suspects were interrogated up in front of the audience, on a microphone. "Anxiety spike!" A couple times, everyone in the room has to go around to other tables, or mill around the room, asking questions to try and figure out who the killer is. It gets very convoluted. I noticed that some people just gave up because it was too confusing. There should be a little bit more explanation as to what people are supposed to do, ESPECIALLY the people from the audience who are chosen as suspects, or people who have NEVER been to a murder mystery themed show. Overall, it's a fun time, but be expected to do some reading, take some notes and actually participate in the show. It's not like you're there just watching a tv show. Kudos to the company actors. They were fun. Good job, cast!
