Great night out comedy club that is family owned! Funny talent and nice intimate venue

JP's for Valentine's Day why not try out or for the first time! I was looking for fun things to do for Valentine's Day and this place popped up, I got tickets and decided it would be a nice fun end to our night! Very cute place, seating was a little different than what we are use to but it wasn't bad! Love that they are locals and you can tell they love what they do! We loved that it's family owned and we LOVE supporting locally owned businesses! Great acts all the way through! Place was clean and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. had high hopes for JP's Comedy Club, but unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing, particularly in how they treated the LGBTQ community and people of color in the audience. While comedy often thrives on edginess and provocation, there's a fundamental line that should not be crossed when it comes to respect and humanity. Throughout the show, both staff and performers targeted individuals in the crowd, making jokes that were not only disrespectful but also hurtful. Pushing boundaries in humor is one thing; outright disrespecting someone's sexuality or gender identity is entirely unacceptable. Upon entering, we were charged for two drinks, which felt more like an unnecessary cash grab than a welcoming gesture. Things escalated further when the owner, JP, made comments about being a police officer. It became evident that he is out of touch with the realities of that role, and his remarks demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and respect for the audience. His disparaging comments toward minorities were particularly concerning and left a sour impression. They advertise big-name headliners, yet much of the show featured local acts. At one point, a black male audience member was subjected to disparaging remarks about his race--what year is this? It was at this moment that we decided to leave. In essence, this club seems to cater to a specific crowd, but it's not a welcoming space for anyone who identifies as LGBTQ or anyone who isn't a white male. The uncomfortable atmosphere ultimately drove us to exit early. I sincerely hope they take a moment to reflect on their approach and consider how they might foster an environment that embraces humor while respecting all individuals. If your idea of comedy involves belittling minorities and repeatedly singling them out, it might be time for some self-reflection. Comedy can be fantastic, I've visited numerous clubs, and it's clear that there's a reason this venue is situated in a strip mall with only half its seats filled. read more

My wife and I have been going to JP's comedy Club for nearly two years and it is often the highlight of our week! They do an amazing job of making everyone feel comfortable and part of their "family". They have a diverse slate of performers who run the gammit of hilarity. The service is always fantastic and the smiles from the staff are genuine. The Club is also a comedy school, so it is pretty cool to see up and coming comics. Some of the performers have become headliners and appeared on shows like Kill Tony. So cool to be able to support a local business that brings comedy to a city, starving for laughs. I believe the attitude of the female in charge, yelling at us to stand outside then opening the door and not even addressing us at all and telling the other people in line who were behind us to come inside, we were not late, we were there before 7pm. There was no reason for her to tell the people behind us to come In and not us... period.. maybe you don't have a lot of minorities that you interject with but no mater what our color.. human kindness is free! I reached out while we were still in the parking lot letting you know how she made us feel and it was completely overlooked and not as important! So maybe it's just one of those places you know only white folks are welcome.. it's clear now! read more

Just left the 7:00pm show with headliner Vince Carone. Oh my gosh - all the comedians were funny! My husband, my friend and i laughed alot tonight. JPs Comedy Club is so much fun! It's family owned and run by JP and his wife. They are a comedy club and a comedy school so you see a whole set of talent. They offer free tickets all the time and it's a 2 drunk minimum. They have a variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic options for guests. Went here with another couple as they had a coupon and honestly, I was not expecting much from a comedy club in a strip mall. It is true what they say do not judge a book by the cover. Everything was amazing from the time we walked in the door. The acts were great. Had some good laughs and good drinks best part wise we were supporting a local family run small business. This was a great venue the owners are amazing the people they have for the show are top notch. They don't know this but I had a huge life moment that needed celebration for and I couldn't have picked a spot that truly made my night!!! Went to JP's for the 1st time and loved it! The outside of the venue made it look a little iffy (small and in a strip mall), but it is actually an intimate, nice little place. Owned and operated by family (veterans). The comedians were a mix of local and national talent and because of the size, it was also a little interactive with the audience. There is a 2 drink minimum and service was fantastic. I will definitely go again! read more

Awesome little family owned comedy club! Every comedian we've ever seen has been hilarious. It's amazing they get such talented comedians for being in a strip mall in GIlbert. I just have 2 little complaints- While I appreciate they keep it very clean, maybe they could use a cleaner that doesn't have such a strong smell. Also, JP needs to switch up his act. It's the same every time. Although funny, it's not so funny hearing the same bit after 6 times. ;) read more

Absolutely love this place! You can tell right away it's full of life thanks to organized, clean, and a welcoming atmosphere. The comics were hilarious, great balance of new and veteran comics, the drinks were reasonably priced, and the staff made everyone feel welcome. It's awesome to see a small local business creating such a fun community spot. One improvement that would go a long way is if they were able to open a kitchen and sell food along with the show. But we wanted a fun night out and we didn't want to drive 30 min to some other show, PLUS they have affordable tickets, so we tried this place out. OMG THIS PLACE IS ACTUALLY FUNNY!
