My husband decided to surprise me. He knows love piano bars. We had a great time at this bar in Tempe. The employees were all very friendly, especially Nick at the front door. He was super helpful. I was waiting for my husband to park. I believe he may have parked at the Mexico border...Or at least that's how long it felt for him to find a parking spot. He did find a public garage close by with lots of parking. It was four dollars to park in the garage. The bar was surprisingly bigger than I thought it would be. There was plenty of seating, but it does start to fill up around 9 PM. They had four entertainers that rotated on the two dueling pianos, a set of drums and a guitar. It was pretty cool to see the performers, each playing the different instruments throughout the night. They knew all the traditional piano bar songs as well as all of today's hits. They are a talented group of guys. We tried the peach tea fishbowl, which was a very delicious drink. It wasn't too sugary and had just the right amount of peach. I could drink several of them. The white guy playing piano has got to be replaced. My sister paid $20 to karaoke sing an ABBA song, which was the only thing she wanted to do tonight. He replied "No more ABBA" and after asking why he then said "Because it's late and I said so". She paid $20 to be allowed to sit on the piano bench and sing five lines while he belted the rest of the track she chose. If I had a dollar for every time I made a comment about how awful the white dude playing the piano sang, I'd able to pay off all of my absolutely nuked Long Island ice tea fishbowls. Definitely a spot to hit on mill, either to just hang out before going elsewhere or a chilled night to end the evening. Clean bathrooms with minimal line, which is nice. Staff is friendly. Went here on New Years when it was crazy busy and still had a great time! The Photo Booth is nice to have and the music is great. What's even better--the staff is very friendly and helpful, I left my phone New years Eve and it was turned in and still there when I came back for it three days later. That was a Wednesday night. Low key piano bar had the sneakiest staff I have ever dealt with. Walked in the door and they were all saying "5$ well drinks all night" so I order a tequila soda only for them to charge me for a higher shelf tequila without asking. When seeing my $100 check I asked to see an itemized receipt before I paid and they said they can't show me until after I finalize payment with tip. After I paid, they brought out the itemized receipt with drink charges of $13-$18 per drink. I told them that I didn't order any of that and they said "there's nothing we can do, drinks were already on the table so I can't take it off." We asked if we could do anything about it and the server said that she was the manager and the owner doesn't care to read reviews or emails about problems. The piano player also came up to our table and tried to guilt us into tipping more so he could play our songs. Overall, not the best establishment. read more

My only complaint is with the staff. The bar tenders are flat out rude. Not sure why they have waitress style table service, this is a bar I should be able to order at the bar. Came here after a day at Tempe Town Lake. Great vibe. I would just say it is a notch or two louder than it needs to be. There is a difference between high energy and high volume. One should be able to have some table talk without needing to yell to the person seated a foot away. The crowd was enthusiastic and sang along to many of the songs. I noticed when leaving around midnight, that this bar no longer had a short line like when I first arrived around 8pm. We went there on a Saturday after having a dinner at somewhere else. I am kinda new in the neighborhood, and Low Key is located in the basement, therefore, I didn't notice this place until I saw some people were going down and up from it. I got curious and told my partner to check it out. I am glad we did. Low Key is a nice Piano Bar, the energy, music, and vibe were great. Lots of tables of different sizes, and it was open seating. It was crowded when we went there so we had to stand for a while until a table got emptied. Fortunately, the table turns were fast; we didn't wait a long time. I liked some pianists more than the others. The good thing is they take turns to play every hour or so. I got a fishbowl; Mill Ave Mai Thai. Very affordable compared to the size you got. However, I found the Mai Thai to be super, extremely, sweet. I won't order the same flavor when I go back there. I also got a jelly shot from the server who was walking between the tables to sell it. I think it was $7, and again, It is a quite large size. idk, maybe I am coming from San Diego and we usually get a smaller size for the price, I found this a larger size lol Anyway, I've enjoyed the night while spending time at Low Key Piano Bar. I used to love this bar - it was my go to always - but lately it's gone downhill. It used to be fun music all night, but now it seems like everyone is trying too hard to be crude and funny and half the time the full song doesn't get played because they turn it into an unnecessarily vulgar joke or they change the words to be "funny." Also, you have to pay such an unnecessary amount of money for your song to get played and half the time they call out your song and say they don't like it and don't play it anyway. Sad that this bar has become one of my least favorite places. :( read more

My friends and I were walking by and had definitely had a few drinks. We started talking to Jose one of the security guards and he was on his game. We were asking him some questions about mill and some guy who looks to be in his late 30's shows him an ID (which I feel like most security guards just take a quick pass at) and told the guy he can't let him in because it's not a valid ID. He was kind and firm and not mean at all. Just a super lovable guy and you could tell he was keeping the place super safe! He said that I was too inebriated to go down the stairs to get into the building which I totally respect and he's 100% right. My friends and I called it a night right after. read more

This is my favorite place on Mill without a dance floor. The age range is very wide compared to most other places and everyone seems comfortable with that. I would take my mom here- it's just fun. The musicians are good, and it's not just one person on a piano. I've heard them do a variety of types of music well. It's so fun to sing along with everyone there- people really get into it! Plus, there's no cover. When the place is busy, the service gets slower, but I've been impressed by the quality. They're very nice with splitting a table's bill, even on a busy night with a big group. The drink menu is more limited than some other places nearby, and all their signature cocktails seem to incorporate Red Bull for some reason. I wish requesting songs actually worked without providing a cash tip, but I don't mind trusting other people to pick good music. It usually works. read more

I am new to AZ, and I am here for school. Got overwhelmed with studying, so I went to this spot for good vibes and a drink, and they definitely passed the vibe check. It was so much fun! Saving this spot as one of them ones to go to for a good time. The only thing is that when it gets packed, you have to stand, which is the norm for bars. Also, when my friend and I did finally end up getting a table we saw that they had a menu with food on it and waiters walking around but no one came to ask if we wanted to order anything until about 40 minutes of sitting down.
