FUN TIME! I really enjoyed this bar, you can have a fun bar experience with just a +1! They played some pretty good music, mostly remixes of popular songs from the late 90s to current day. There were plenty of pool tables to choose from, just go up to the bar to get some balls! They do hold onto your ID while you have the balls out. I didn't have any alcohol since I was the DD, but my Shirley Temple was excellent, although it's not a hard drink to mess up haha. Nice spot on Mill Avenue to get away from the noise. I met my husband here on a first date, six years ago. It also was a Sunday night. Sundays are great because only $5 an hour. Also they have long islands for $4 a pop. Tab at the end of the night with tip 27 bucks. Not bad. Pools tables are nice. Bathroom was clean. Over the years it appears less and less staff working but still dope place. We did have to go get our own drinks but price makes it worth it. read more

If you're looking for somewhere lit on Friday night, this place has some great features. The DJ was good and dancing was happening, bathrooms were clean, and the wait for a pool table wasn't long at all. Service at the bar was fast despite the place being busy. With $6 Long Island Teas of various flavors on Fridays and Saturdays, I love it. I had a cherry sprite one that tasted like a Shirley Temple and a cherry coke one, because the first was so good I didn't want to change it up too much. I suck at pool, but I might be back enough to possible change that. The floor is sticky and the place gets packed with mostly college students, but if that's your scene, hit it up! read more

Went there last night. Service was sub par at best. To get in they have a child working security who makes everyone lift their shirt to check for weapons, no big deal, as long as we're doing it to everyone. I was inside I noticed a large group of males "fist bump" the kid watching the door and walk on in unsearched. I went outside and asked the kid working the door about and he got a uppity attitude with me and said "they're my friends, I don't need to check them". I politely let him know how unprofessional that was as well as potentially being unsafe and kept the attitude up telling me to "get out of his bar" I had a good laugh at that one and had to remind the child that I was already outside and his "authority" ended at the door. He was very rude throughout the whole experience and used profanity towards me and my companions and said he "doesn't give a f$"@k" if we reported this to his management after asking him to refrain from the offensive language. I will most certainly never patronize this business again and it's very disappointing and unfortunate that they let such and immature child represent their business. Tried and true lounge that's been around seemingly forever and shows no signs of slowing down. The music is hella loud, but it's never the most lit because this is for shooting pool and yelling to your friends so they can hear you through the blaring trap. Service is great, and they've perfected the art of the cheap long island. I would come back again. read more

I've been coming to Cue Club for the last ten years and I am glad they're still in business amidst the expansion and property value increase on Mill Ave. This has become a gem to Tempe and an awesome spot for Sun Devils, old and new, to come hang out, catch up with friends, play pool, and watch sports... or even the awards show. This place is super verse. The staff here are superb. The drinks are legit and they even have a ski shot that you could do with your friends.... just makes sure you're all close to the same height or someone is getting wet. Lol. Discriminated against me for my service dog. I have a disability my service dog was wearing her vest and I can only assume that the employee who told me to get out was the "manager" (who was drinking at the bar). He said:" there's no pets allowed", I replied: "she isn't a pet she's my service dog". To which he replied: "we have the right to refuse service to anyone" and I said "not based on disability that's illegal." The kind of rude discrimination that he displayed was absolutely disgusting. I loved this place but that was such an awful experience it's taken me 2 months to write a review. I will be contacting my ADA rep and the Better Business Bureau. She gave me one water then basically kicked me out for not ordering beer. So I left and went to another local bar. Came to Cue Club Saturday night for a fun night with my boyfriend. I previously came here times before and had GREAT experiences-- HOWEVER, not this time. I was waiting near the bar trying to wave the bartender (the dude with the big afro) down, and he got mad and seemed very prissy. All I did was try to wave him down and even to mention the music was loud. I did not yell or do anything aggressive but simply try to wave him down because he seemed to not acknowledge/see me. But homeboy gave MAJOR ATTITUDE. If you can't handle the pressure of being a bartender you should not work there. He was very unprofessional! He messed with the wrong gal. Apparently they do not accept STATE ISSUED electronic drivers license. All the other bars on Mill do... but they don't. Two out of the three times that I've been there I've encountered some BS with the same rude ass bartender. read more

I'm not sure how I've checked in 6 times here but never reviewed this place. Oh yeah... this place is a BAR. And generally the next day I am hungover and don't want to review someplace. So why am I always hung over after this place? Well, their drinks are strong - namely their Long Islands and AMFs. Almost every night I've went here I've blacked out or nearly blacked out - especially if I get ahold of 2 or more of those drinks. Even in my drinking prime I couldn't handle them - and LIs and AMFs were *my* drinks! I actually have an ongoing challenge with my friends that go out with us that if they can drink 5 or more LIs or AMFs from Cue in the course of the night of Mill bar hopping that they win a prize. Nobody has taken me up on that offer. I'm now thirsty. read more

One of my favorite places to go for nightlife when I visit Arizona! The crowd is awesome, the staff is great and the atmosphere is lovely! The crowd is full of college students from neighboring Arizona State University (ASU) and they definitely know how to party! The place is always packed! Try yourself a Trash Can! It'll get you going and tastes great! Play some pool with friends and enjoy the gorgeous waitresses and bartenders on site! My favorite was Brittini! I'll be back for sure! Quick tip... it gets quite busy on some nights and the line gets very long but for only $5 you can bypass the line and also get a free shooter so when ya see the line pull out a Lincoln and walk right in! read more

This was the first bar I went to on Mill Ave. A sort of ritual for my circle of friends. Tonight it was sort of packed, nothing too crazy, but I'm sure in two weeks it would be out of control packed. I got a long island and an AMF, both of which were almost pure alcohol, they did the job to say the least. It was a nice atmosphere, I'm not sure if I would come here on the weekends when class is in session, but definitely a cool places. read more

I was told by a friend of mine that this is THE place to get your drink on for a night on Mill. After touring a bunch of other bars along the street, I can say he was definitely spot on. You're going to want to hit this place up first for sure. It may not look like anything special from the outside but don't judge the book by its cover (of which it has none, no pun intended LOL). Specialty cocktails are $6-7 when other bars will be selling the same drinks for double. The DJ was awesome and had the place popping with great music. It was a little cramped inside and the line was pretty long (about 30 min to get in) but that's to be expected on a Saturday night after a football game. Overall a great crowd, great music, great drinks and great experience. Next time I will definitely be playing pool (it was too crowded/full last night). read more

So let me tell you. I live in Scottsdale and I came out to Tempe for Octoberfest. Had a great time with my friends and travelled onto Mill to see what the hype was about. We love pool but needed a snack, and was so appalled by the service at Cue Club I, I'm not even there I am now at a DIFFERENT place to write a review. The bouncer outside was so rude. I realize I'm in a college town, but god damn. I asked "hello, any chance you have food?" . Tall white guy with spiked blonde hair in red shirt didn't even turn around but said "fuck no." I go "....okay well could you refer to me a place that does? " he vaguely pointed over his shoulder to no specific place. Couldn't tell you what he looked like, he never turned around to answer 1 of my 2 questions. Get it together bro. I hope the manager reads this. But in my day they were only $5 and you could literally get 'sloppy' off of one. We're talkin 10 + years ago. There are indeed many pool tables here as the name alludes. It's a 'watering hole' and it's on Mill but it's not outrageously expensive. I think the food is decent?? I don't remember getting food poisoning here, so that's good. I want to write this in the right way and ask for an apology for reasonably poor English, but enough, that I will use. I moved from chicago with my wife a couple of months ago, we are used to visiting new places and having a nice time on our weekends, I'm a coffee lover and a pool addict, so that's why we decided visit this place. I never had problems with my tourist visa (officially issued by THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES) to enter in the most fancys places of Chicago, and here I was denied SERVICE, ENTRY in an overwhelming way, They first checked my wife's ID for more than 1 minute and when they saw mine they just said: We have very strict rules about border passes. First, isn't a "border pass" i have visa, passport, ID student from my University. I work hard to have the opportunity to know this great country. Second, I work for bars in the city of Mexico and the least you want to do is lose a customer, Mexican, Chinese or from anywhere in the world, IT'S A CUSTOMER! The reason of your business. I urge you to review the internal regulations of the place and notify the reason for the discrimination committed or place an announcement at the door stating that only American citizens will be admitted. Horrible service tonight. The female bar manager kept forgetting our order and opted to socialize with her friends in lieu of helping customers. Then became overly rude, perhaps offended, when it was mentioned that the previous owners Rudy and staff were more customer oriented. Scott needs to work on his staff's customer service, being the MGM of Tempe/Mill Ave does have perks but it's not reflected properly when you allow your staff to slack. Visited here late Friday night, it was so hot inside this place I was sweating! They had a DJ which was cool and the fog machine and strobe lights, we didn't get a chance to play pool but we hung out in the back and had some AMFs. The drinks were decent. Nothing to rave about. I want to hate on this place because ASU is covered in docuhe-nip, but that isn't the Cue Club's Fault and for business sakes, they are making a killing. The place has really nice tables, good cues, which is a commodity in the pool scene, and a pretty good bar/tap. During "on" nights, the table renting fee can be pretty steep, but it attracts so many coed drones that they may as well charge a lot cause mommy and daddy are footing the bill. If I could rate the place separately from the crowd I would give it 5 stars, because it is one of the best kept pool halls I've been too... The problem is mix the -10 star crowd rating and 3 stars is generous. Come here on a weekend night if you are looking for a 3 hour wait for a pool table, the lowest iq to head count ratio known to god, an undeserved fist fight, and an std. I don't think there is anything wrong with this place if you are into getting drunk for cheap, playing pool, watching sports and hanging with the bro-ha's... which evidently by my 3-star rating I am not, or on this night I was not, interested in. The drinks were really good. I ended up putting back at least 1.5 Long Islands. It would have been more if my friend Rose wasn't alternating sips with me. Hopefully she doesn't have mono ha ha The bathrooms were clean and let me know about the myriad of "ladies nights" they have, but unfortunately both the women's and the men's bathrooms are in plain view of the bartender and other patrons, so I was unable to sneak in one of them and give Dallas the business. Maybe that is why I was so disgruntled? The only reason we came here was because we were in a large group and some of the members thought it would be fun. In a group setting, sure. But I wouldn't hit this bar up alone. Not that I go to bars alone. Usually. At least no more than once a week, anyway. read more
