We went for a Latin music night on Friday night June 5. The bar has a terrific venue and the music was great as was the table service. Our complaint was that we went to order appetizers and they were out of eggrolls and mozzarella sticks at 6:30 PM! Food manager fail. My friend ordered a pizza that never came. Kitchen fail. So we would highly recommend it for a place to dance and drink, but not to eat. read more

I've been to Cactus Jack's twice now and was invited by a friend of mine to join her for country line dancing that happens on Wednesday nights starting at 6:30pm with a $5 cover. The gal teaching country line dancing has a lot of energy and while the steps aren't the easiest, I like that she repeats the lessons, so my second week here felt a lot better than the first. I have been to Scootin' Boots in Mesa for country line dancing too and found the other place easier, but it was a bit more, $10. Country line dancing is hard for me and I have to really pay attention and focus. Its a great work out and you feel like you have accomplished something! There is a bar here and beers cost $7 for a 12 oz. pour. Bartender was prompt and helpful. Food is available here, your usual bar food, which I have ordered none. I do love that they have these red horseshoe booths, which are super fun. I dont know what this place is like on other nights but I did enjoy this place for the country line dancing lessons. This is the second time visiting this establishment, and also the second time we have had been ignored by the server/waitress! Almost invisible to service! Was so bad the server walked past our table countless times and never acknowledged any of us, then proceeded to walk by and grab the empty glass off our table with still no sign of service! Samantha is the absolute best, I come here just to visit with her mostly on Tuesdays during the day she's here until 6 and sometimes I come at nite when she serves tables, great service, happy hour is food is also a plus can't go wrong with the wings or catfish. So, I bought a VIP ticket for a show at Cactus Jacks, not realizing this place was a venue and not just a spot with a catchy name. Learned that the hard way. First off, communication was a little... freestyle. I called ahead and was told VIP doors opened at 7:30. My gut and knowing said "nah," and sure enough, the very next day I got the official email: doors at 6 p.m., VIP cutoff 6:45. Good thing I showed up early, because by 5:48 I was in line with just a couple of folks ahead of me. Then came the line Olympics. We stood there until 6:30 with no updates, watching people who apparently don't believe in lines attempt to stroll right to the front, (it was, in fact, a line. Wild concept, I know.) Once inside, VIPs got pictures and posters... but here's the kicker... the place had a strict no re-entry policy. So the big debate became, are we really expected to carry this thing like a giant neon "rob me" sign for the next five hours? Staff said yes. Luckily, I made friends in line, got the inside scoop, and managed to stash mine away. (Thank you, Paige hero of the poster rebellion.) Now, to be fair, the staff themselves were genuinely kind and friendly, even if it felt like nobody actually knew what the heck was going on. That balance of warmth and chaos gave the whole night a sort of "we're all figuring this out together" vibe. The show itself? Solid. Didn't eat or drink, though I will say the food smelled good enough that I briefly considered gnawing on someone's wings? Can't vouch for vegan options, bathrooms, or anything beyond the music, but the vibe in the room was nice once everything finally got rolling. By the time it wrapped at 11 p.m., I'd been there since before 6.... Cactus Jacks definitely had quirks this eve, but overall, I liked the space, the sound, and the energy. Four stars because the show delivered, even if the poster policy and pre-show chaos nearly tested my Zen. Would I go again? Yeah... but next time, I'm bringing a backpack and maybe a lawn chair for that line. read more

Four times in a row we have been "over charged or double charged" it seems like the staff is up to something. I caught the $25 overcharge and got my refund, but I hope the owner is on the watch! Offers so many fun activities to partake in from country line dancing lessons , poker nights, open mic nights and Karaoke.. went during karaoke and it was so much fun and had some impressive singers that night my goodness ..am I at the auditions for American idol .. I wish I could post negative stars. We have been wanting to visit and support the new owners for quite some time. I have heard some negative stuff but I didn't want to go based on others. My mistake! Saw they were having a comedy event and thought- why not?! Show said 9:30. Got there at 8 to eat before the show. There was a a MJ tribute prior show so we were not allowed entry, ok. We went and ate elsewhere. Returned at 9 1st show still going on. We were allowed in at 9:30 to the patio. We waited 2.5 hours for the show with a no refund policy and people who did not pay were allowed to stay after and take up most of the seating for the comedy show. There was absolutely no organization - also was never able to order drinks so we sure didn't have to adhere to the 2 drink minimum since we had no service. This eating and drinking establishment tags a tip on all bills regardless of food or drinks. It presents you check without the detailed receipt. So most patrons are tipping on top of precharged tip. So instead of 20% they are tipping 40%. Very deceptive. read more

This place is very suspect when it comes to transactions. My experience i was charged over 40% tip without my approval. I was then charged again almost 7 days later 45$ for items i didnt order purchase or present my card to pay for. They charged my card randomly and fraudulently. I tried calling the establishment and even had to show up in person because they were ducking and diving the situation. The manger told me there was nothing he could do cause the charge was pending and that this was a known issues that had happened to others as well. Mike also told me that he had told owners and that they advised him to blame it on the POS system. Mike advised me he would research the charges and call me back or have the owner call me back. I haven't heard from anyone more than 48 hours later and the charges have posted. Be careful keep your receipts don't trust the waitresses especially the one who is the thief. If you have an event here be careful they are going to tax all your people and potentially you could be in the same situation i was left in. Update!!!!!!!!!!! the owner called me back and made things right. We had a great conversation he was empathetic apologetic and respectful in how he took ownership of the issue. This is a great place to see live music! I love their set up. It's always a chill crowd and a good time. They skew towards classic rock and related genres. My favorite group I've seen there is Twice Baked. It's not exactly a fine dining restaurant, but they have some pretty good bar food. They serve a couple sandwiches in addition to shareable snacks. I was surprised by how yummy their fried mushrooms were - I'd definitely order them again. Of course, the bar does all the classics. It's worth a visit. read more

I play in one of the bands that perform at Cactus Jack's. We all love playing there, always so fun and they have one of the best sound engineers in the valley. The food is always good and our family, friends and fans who come out to see us perform always have a great time as well. They are always having beverage specials and food specials. The service is great and you can run a tab for the night so you are not pulling the wallet out each time a drink or meal shows up at your table. Very convenient. The atmosphere is always friendly and I neve worry about my wife sitting out in the crowd. I have not seen anything but friendliness and comradery in the seven years I have played there. He prompt and seamlessly service didn't interrupted the show. A friendly nod for another drink please. The food was what to expect for bar food also impressed with the salad. I was here on 9/29/24 to watch football this is the first time I have been to this establishment. The food was burnt, my friend ordered (tots and chicken wings) I was asked if I would keep the tab open I said only for my items only and was charged $33.18 for 1 drink. While there I was wearing a NFL shirt (not a raiders shirt). To my surprise it is a raiders fan bar and this is where they go to watch the games. I was hissed at, yelled at, Booed and more. I was told by a customer who was wearing raiders clothing to get up out of my seat and to leave all due to not wearing Raiders shirt, the remarks I received by not only women but many men as well "get out of my bar, you don't belong here", and also cursed at in Spanish) . It went on and on. I feel it is a safety at this point when a woman came to where I was sitting looked at me and actually told me to leave (did not work there). I did but I was surprised that I was not followed out, and attacked by one of them in some way. I will never come to this place again. I was told that its a Raiders club and they rent out the entire Place, However no notices were posted about it being a private party. I did call to discuss and the women on the phone apologized to me for how badly I was treated. I will never be back and you should not come here as this is the behaviors of the customers. We went to Cactus Jack's to see a couple of bands Saturday night. The atmosphere was super energetic. There were two bands. It was a little crowded but we were able to sit at a high top table. The air conditioner was on "puff". That's my only complaint. It was hot where we sat. This was a casual atmosphere, literally! I saw a few people on the dance floor with no shoes on. Our server was OUTSTANDING. Her name is Leslie and she was very quick, pleasant and thorough. The food was good , pretty much your average bar food. The bands were really good and no lack of people dancing on the dance floor. Leslie is the main reason for 5 stars because she went above and beyond and made us feel very welcome. The fried green beans she recommended were super tasty. I LOVED the Cajun fries also. This is a great place for Live music and a group of friends. read more

I rarely drink at bars. Is $5.75 normal for a pint of beer? I was expecting like $3.50 or $4. But like I said, it's been a bit. Maybe that isn't an absolute rip off. I thought placing a coaster in a drink was pretty universal for don't touch. I did that and when I came back from bathroom, beer had been dumped.
