If you're new to dancing and looking to learn a choreo routine in a non competitive environment,…read morethis is the place for you. Check out their Instagram page for photos. What I love: the friendly environment, the community aspect, and meeting new people wanting to learn to dance and also encouraging you when you need it. What I don't love: the space is a bit small, lacking air circulation, class times, learning the routines can be challenging for someone with no dance experience. Read below for full review I found Diva Dance on Instagram as a sponsored post and joined as a founding member last year when they opened. I have never taken any dance classes before and thought this was the perfect time to learn something new. Shannon, the owner, is super nice and friendly and the dance instructors are welcoming as well. The studio space is not owned by Diva Dance, but each location will have the name of the dance studio they will be at and they will have a Diva Dance CE up front to check you in. The space is a bit small and does not have mirrors at the end of the room, so arrive about 5 minutes before class so you can find a spot in the studio that you're comfortable. Some prefer the side with no mirrors or a specific area of the room. Since studio does not provide efficient fans and is not an open space, it can also get pretty warm due. Wear what you would feel comfortable working out in and bring some water and small towel. The classes are an hour long and include a community question, warmup, time to learn the routine, split into groups to perform, and a cool down. Although the class time is an hour long, you get about 40 minutes to learn the routine. Each instructor has their own style of dance and how they teach a routine, so you may find it easier learning from one instructor over another, like if you easily pick up pop moves, but find it harder learning lyrical. The dance moves will be repeated in other routines, so if you don't pick it up on the first time, you'll see it again in another routine. They do record the performances on a phone or iPad and post on social, if you're shy, you can hang out on the side or ask them to skip over you during filming. Each month a calendar is released showing what songs you can learn a routine to, so you're learning a fresh routine each time. Some of the routines will have a theme, like lyrical, heels, or poms. They also have workshops and monthly community events to get to know each other outside of class. Most of the classes start at 8:15pm and Saturdays are 12:15pm. Each location has a different schedule though. Nikki is my favorite instructor, her energy lights up the room! As the room is small and depending on where you standing, it can be hard to see the instructors. In her classes, she moves around the room when teaching and can see when dancers are struggling to pick up the choreo. You can feel the joy and passion she has for dance! Please note, her classes are also the most challenging.

The entire dance studio is run down and has a lot of cosmetic and functional problems. Floors are peeling up, transitions in doorways are missing or sticking up, and paint is chipped everywhere. There is even a spot in the floor in one of the dance rooms that looks like it is sinking and moldy. The windows to see in the dance rooms are high and standing at them is difficult because the hallways are very small. The owner also teaches classes and taught my daughters class. She ALWAYS started late and ended early. I actually started keeping track because I felt like we were being jipped in time. The class was supposed to be an hour long and every single time it was only about 30 minutes which is frustrating because I am paying for an hour. Every class was the exact same routine and if that meant it ended early because there were not a lot of kids, then that is what happened. My daughter was by herself once and there was no 1 on 1 teaching, it was the same routine of play this song and do this song. The teacher also liked to do a choreographed dance and read her notes in her book and dance to the song, but not actually teach it to the kids. So she watched herself in the mirror and did the dance while these poor little kids tried to follow along. My daughter loves dancing and wanted to do gymnastics too so we found this dance studio that did tumbling as part of the class. She loved that part of the class so we decided to leave and pursue gymnastics. It was a good out to leave and I didn't care that we had some makeup classes still. I do know they have a groupon and that's how a lot of people found out about this place. I was not aware of the groupon which would have saved me $30 a month. There are a lot of dance studios for kids out there, but this one is not worth the charged price per month and would look elsewhere, even thought the reviews state otherwise.

She has made some great friends and the instructors are not only the best cheerleaders but incredible instructors. I would highly recommend Just Dance and have recommended to coworkers. Great environment, friendship, and teamwork!

My daughter came to PDC after just three years experience at another studio. I didn't understand…read morehow important it would be that this studio is a cooperative. What that means is that instead of becoming profit their money is spent hiring the BEST instructors! My daughter's technique has improved by leaps and bounds - no pun intended. They focus on safety, which is important since she is on pointe now. She continually improves and strives to be the best dancer she can be. The choreographers are so fabulous, expecting a lot from them while still setting attainable goals for the students. Perfect mix of high expectations and supportive feedback. One thing I didn't expect was that she would fall so much in love with this studio that she asked to go from 3 classes to 11 classes. I wasn't sure she would be able to keep up with school work since she is in advanced classes so I told her sure but if your grades slip you are going to have to drop some classes. She has maintained a 95% or better in all classes despite dancing from 4 - 8:30 four nights per week. She loves the studio and the kids are like family. Any studio that can make you strong, healthy, keep phones out of her hands and inspire her to keep her grades as high as possible is the type of studio I want to be part of. You get plenty of time at the award podium too but it is about so much more for these nationally recognized choreographers!

Is it possible to rate this school less than 1 star? Having read the previous 2 reviews, I can say…read morewith assurity that the authors were NOT exaggerating! I would like to start by saying that I never expected my child to become a prima ballerina in 1 year. But I certainly didn't expect this! My child was routinely ignored, not just upon entering the school, but also during class. The owner, Miss Allison was also my child's *teacher*, a title I use loosely, as she did not actually teach. She demonstrated steps, but never actually showed/corrected my daughter on how to execute these steps. My daughter was also in the younger class and if left to herself, would just stand still. Simply calling her name would have helped her to pay attention, but even this was to much for Miss Allison to do. So my daughter spent most of the class time just standing on her 'X'..and Miss. Allison didn't seem to care. Please note that when I pointed this out to the owner/ teacher, she became very defensive immediately saying that she was sick of parents saying that to her. (If other parents approached her to discuss the same issue, shouldn't that have been a clue? ) I finally thought that she'd just given up on my daughter and asked if that was the case. Yeah, I knew that would make her go on the defensive, but I couldn't think of any other way to force her to teach or at the very least acknowledge my kid. When I asked her, she left the building and went to her car, leaving my child and me alone in the building! I would have pulled my daughter from the school after that but I'd already paid up front for tuition, costumes, recital fees, etc. I should also mention that the teacher spent a lot of time checking and typing on her cell phone, especially during the gymnastics portion of class. Let me address costs. The school website advertizes that they are more affordable and keep costs down as compared to other schools. First, their tuition is about the same as most, but a little more than some. They also say the recital fee includes 2 tickets and a souvenir t-shirt. Yes, the tickets are included but they are for the nosebleed seats. The t-shirt is NOT included as advertised. Also, midway through the year, I received an email informing me that the owner didn't realize that her school was subject to Chandlers entertainment tax, so she took it upon herself to retroactively charge all credit cards on file for this additional fee. While my child was only taking 1 class a week, the fee was small. What concerned me is 1: after being in business for 3 years, shouldn't she have known about that tax? 2: As previously mentioned, I paid all the fees in advance. She not only kept my card on file although there was no need, but then took it upon herself to make this additional charge first and tell us about it later. 3: Although I was never impacted by this, mid year she changed her late payment fee from $10 to $25 , almost half the cost of tuition itself! Another violation of the contract we signed. There's much more I could add, but I'll summarize by saying if you're looking for a facilitator not teacher who will only recognize you and your child when you're handing over your credit card (unless you're her 'pet' and she does have pets! ), then this is the school for you! However, if you're expecting to have your child actually learn something. .anything. .I suggest you run, tap or plie' (ple ay) somewhere else!
