This is a great place for karaoke! They have so many different styles and songs and genres, which is amazing. Literally, they have everything from show tunes to K-pop demon hunters to niche music. This was a nice karaoke bar. They charge $10 cover at the door. However, you then get a $10 credit to spend at the bar which I think is a fair use of a cover fee. The staff was friendly. Came here in the middle of the week on a wednesday. In the middle of tempe on a fun road with a bunch of other restaurants. Parking was paid and being the building. We didn't do karaoke but people were having a lot of fun there! We ordered mozzarella sticks, garlic parm wings, and bbq chicken pizza. Wings and mozz sticks were pretty good, not my favorite!! the pizza got burnt and they had to make another and it took about 30+ mins and when it came out it was minimal on bbq sauce which I would've liked a like more sauce since it was a bit dry but the manager apologized and was very kind about it. read more

He scowled at our group saying we sung too loud, when not a single other person in the bar had a problem with us. We've gone several times and 414 has never disappointed. It's a small place but a huge atmosphere of that makes sense? If not, just visit them and you'll see what I mean. We're a little older than the college crowd and we thought it would make a difference, but not here. Everyone from the guests to the staff interact with each other and everyone has a great time. I'm ashamed to say it took us several times before trying the pizza. Oh man please don't wait as long as we did. I don't eat crust... There was nothing left by the time we finished. I consider spending my night here a fully five star experience. The Michelin guide isn't about to make a visit anytime soon, but the food is pretty good, especially the carb-y classics like cheesy bread and garlic knots. Prices on drinks are reasonable, but more importantly, I consider this a place where it's super easy to have fun sober. The staff is all-around great, too. Obviously their big draw is the karaoke. The place gets a great mix of people and a decent amount of good singers. The vibe inside is the best - it's bustling on weekends but well-organized and always tons of fun. They have screens all around the pub so you can perform from anywhere and see what's going on and who's coming up next. I also love the song lyrics scrawled on the walls. I love going out and exploring new things, so the fact that I spent my birthday here out of anywhere in the valley is a big compliment. I would do it again, too! I had the best time being serenaded and given a free calzone. My friends and I also came here on Halloween for crazy good deals. I came here yesterday with my friends and was sitting by myself and one of the people that is in charge of the music came up to me and asked me if I wanted to play a song to sing to. I recommended him one... after 45 minutes, he didn't play it, so I just kindly went up to him and said hey, is my song coming up soon? He screamed back to me "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU, IVE NEVER SEEN YOU IN MY LIFE. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY FACE" then flipped me off and told me to leave. I left in shock. I've never been treated like that before. I can't believe you'd hire someone with such anger towards women. When you come to a place like this you expect some sort of customer service and at least acknowledgment when trying to conversation with the staff. I go for the atmosphere ,food and vibes . Having a wait with literally 10 people or less over 30 minutes is a little insane and not letting your patrons know it might be a moment due to whatever instance is happening would be nice, instead your left sitting twaddling your thumbs . Any coupons or deals they advertise have random requirements they only state once you try to redeem in store, and even if you mis understood they correct you with attitude . My wife and I went in around 7pm on a Wednesday hoping to have a few drinks and some wings and pizza for dinner then stick around for a little karaoke. The bartender, who was very polite, but was new and not familiar with much, had to check with the kitchen to find out that it was Wing Wednesday. The wing "discount" was 25% off of an already inflated price, and the wings were small, and the sauces were bland. I ordered the "hot" wings and they were simply doused in Franks Red Hot. My wife's wings were supposed to be Honey Garlic Parmesan. Tasted no garlic, only honey. We then ordered a pizza and it was if the kitchen ran out of sauce and pizza cheese, but decided to try to make a pizza with just the toppings we ordered. One of the worst tasting pizzas I've ever had, and that's not hyperbole. The pizza was so tasteless that I didn't even want the slices I didn't eat (yes I still ate it because it was expensive and I don't like to waste food). We were so dissatisfied with the food that we didn't stay for karaoke. I really thought the concept of the place was cool, so if they can up the quality of the food, this place could be a home run. I've been coming to 414 Pub for the safe atmosphere and great ambiance. Security guard on duty makes me feel safe from creeps. It is hard to go out and have wholesome fun sometimes. I love to get on the mic and sing my heart out! Favorite song to sing is "Wild Thing". Boy this is the place!!!! I am able to get on the mic at least twice when I go sometimes up to 3 times. I use my entry ticket towards my bar purchase which redeems a $10 off my tab. The food is not why I come but is why I stay if I get hungry I grab some tasty mozzarella sticks and a hot pepperoni slice and quench my thirst with a fruity cocktail. I wish I could give 3.5 stars! I genuinely love this place and was a regular my senior year of college and in my post grad years! The bar is so small and the karaoke is great. The service is phenomenal as well and they are very quick with orders. I will say the service staff (such as a few waiters and the DJ) have very eccentric personalities but you can't take them too seriously. The DJ loves to flip people off but just flip him off right back. He is hilarious and it's great to see someone not take themselves or anyone else too seriously. I have nothing bad to say about the staff, drinks, food, or karaoke. We genuinely had a fun night and I'm glad we went! I love that bar/restaurant through and through! However, just be warned that on some nights there is a $10 minimum that you have to pay in cash to get in. We went last Friday night (3/22). You give the "bouncer" $10, and he gives you a ticket. Do not walk away without a ticket, otherwise he will not give you one (even if it's his responsibility to make sure you got your ticket). He apparently is the manager and was rather rude to my friends and I. I have half a mind to blame the color of my skin, but I digress. I went for my birthday and my friend didn't get her ticket but was too nervous to ask him for one, so I went and asked. He barely let me speak, kept interrupting me (he kept saying "can I speak??" which REALLY pissed me off) and threatened to kick us out if we kept asking for a ticket. Just the rudest person I've ever met. I understand he works on Mill Ave and comes across many intoxicated patrons, but my friends and I were NOT intoxicated and it was very condescending to be spoken to like a child and not being able to have a civil discussion with him. All we wanted were some good drinks and karaoke, and he really put a sour taste in the evening. Very much an a**hole and I hope he sees this! Do better! And I do understand the policy of walking away without a ticket, because if you give one person a ticket, then anyone could lie and say they didn't get theirs. But YOU need to take accountability for YOUR mistake and understand that YOU were overwhelmed and did not do a great job at multitasking (as you were talking to a coworker when taking our $10 and looking at our ID's) and failed to give YOUR customer the ticket she paid for. Do NOT be dense, and own up to YOUR mistakes. Anyway... great place!! Highly recommend! Just know their policies before you go in to protect yourself. I come here every now ans then with friends and fam and even send people this way to enjoy pizza and karaoke but, tonight, I am disappointed with the DJ for having us wait 2 rounds and even add people that came after us jist because she knows them. It took us more than an hour to sing our first song while she and the bouncer sang 2 rounds. Customers should be given priority and first in. And then she cut our song in the middle when we finally got to sing. We did a medley since there's two of us instead of singing one song each. That was the most disappointing of all when there were other people singing longer songs. So, today 414 only gets 2 star from us qbecause of that. Food is ok. read more
