I wanted to love it, but I found the food to be decent/serviceable. The apps and dessert were strong but the entrees while appealing fell flat for me. I did enjoy the cornbread, some of the best I can remember ever having. The dessert I recall was very rich but good. The recommended Pork Chop dish fell flat for me, I found it very tough and did not finish it. Forgive me if there are regional differences in the prepartion (like with BBQ). I've been spending my summers in Bluffton for 65 years, and I can honestly say this was one of the…read morebest dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The hostess graciously worked us in, even though they were not expecting us. When I asked if we could move outside because we had an infant with us and didn't want to disturb other diners, the manager couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. He moved our table without hesitation and made us feel like it was a pleasure--not an inconvenience. Our server, Andreas, was absolutely exceptional. His attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care elevated an already wonderful meal. By the time we left, we felt like family. The food was incredible from start to finish, but the baked ricotta appetizer deserves a special mention--I would come back just for that! Thank you to Andreas and the entire team at Joelle for your outstanding hospitality! Experiences like this are rare, and you have earned customers for life.

We reserved a table inside but it was very noisy so we asked our server if we could move outside instead. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. For an appetizer we got the burrata - nothing special but good. I wish there had been a couple more pieces of bread with it. For my main I got the orecchiette tre porcellini and was warned beforehand that it had a slight spice to it. It definitely did have a little kick but nothing I couldn't handle. Very tasty. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was great. I enjoyed my first time here and would definitely consider coming back. Someone near us got a pizza that looked amazing so I'd like to try one of those next. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 doesn't even have anything to do with the restaurant itself. Once before entering the building and multiple times while we were inside, we received stares from numerous different customers. They were all admittedly uppity-looking. It felt like we had eyes on us the whole time. One woman even did a full 180 turn at the bar to glance at us (I could see the bar area from outside when the sun started going down). I'm not sure if this restaurant is frequented more by locals who aren't used to seeing outside people; I live an hour outside Bluffton. But that just kind of dampened the entire experience and made it a bit uncomfortable. We weren't doing or wearing anything to draw attention. And that may very well have been a one-off situation but still something to note.

The shrimp were perfectly cooked and they were quite generous with the number. I loved the toasted seasoned croutons so much that I made some today myself . My FiL loved the meatloaf and ate every

We arrived early, but…read morethere was some confusion with our table because another party was seated at the table we had reserved. We were initially told there wasn't any room upstairs, but after explaining that we had specifically reserved upstairs, we were eventually seated where we had requested. There was actually plenty of seating upstairs, so that was a little frustrating. Once we were seated, things went pretty well. Our waiter let us know they were out of crab dip and catfish. We started with the Greens & Cream appetizer, and it was DELICIOUS! The homemade tortilla chips were so good. My husband had the fish and grits with mac and cheese, and he enjoyed everything. I had the fried scallops with green beans and grits, and my meal was good as well. I also had a bar drink that was really good. There were a few service issues. We had to ask for silverware, and my side substitutions were rung up incorrectly. I also received fries even though I had substituted them, and I didn't receive the hush puppies that were supposed to come with the meal. I ordered a second bar drink that never came, so I eventually asked for it to be removed from the bill. Our waiter was young and overall did a good job, but I think he could benefit from a little more training and attention to detail when taking orders. Overall, the food was good and we enjoyed our dinner. I would recommend giving Ma Daisy's a try, but definitely check your bill and make sure your substitutions are entered correctly. There's room for improvement with the service, but the food was worth the visit!
