Met an old friend of mine here for dinner. We made a reservation online with no issues. It surprisingly was not very busy which was good - we sat outside in the porch area with one other set of guests. There were more people inside, which had a nice fun vibe. The outside seating area was very nice and cozy. They had cute stringed lights set up, some fans for when it is hot, and heat flames - not sure if the flames were heaters or decor only, but my guess would be they actually work (we sat on the side closer to the building so not next to them, thankfully as I actually got a little hot). We had a nice young woman for our server who was very attentive and sweet. She answered our questions, specifically the difference between the "Tacos" and "Grilled Tacos" - for the record, it has nothing to do with the meat (like grilled chicken vs fried) and everything to do with the taco style - meaning corn or flour, and grilled like a panini or regular style. We had some drinks - margarita, sangria, and a moscow mule; all great! We ordered the cornbread for the table. It was a little different from your typical cornbread - it had jalapeños in it but wasn't too spicy and was more like grilled pieces than baked. And they were cut up into triangular shapes. Not as sweet as some other cornbreads and had like a chipotle dipping sauce. For our meals, we had the Trippy Taco bowl, mix and match regular tacos chicken and steak, and a burger. The entrees came out quickly, great presentation, and as expected. The tacos and burger came with fries (shoe-string) and they were quite delicious - and the salad had a nice amount of tortilla chip strips on top. We really enjoyed our meal at Chow Daddy's. Our party of three had the guacamole to start, which was great, nice and fresh. I had the rice bowl with fish, which was great, blackened mahi mahi with rice, black beans, slaw, and corn relish, and really, it was delicious. The slaw of the day was cabbage and kale with a little mint, and it was great, a real treat. My husband had a burger that was perfectly cooked, exactly what he asked for (medium rare). Our friend had a shrimp taco and sweet potato fries, and she said it was good - she ate it all, so it must have been pretty decent :). We all agreed we'd come back sometime! It was an excellent meal. I made a review a year ago, and have returned to update! We got the chips and queso again and it was still delicious. This time I got the avocado bowl and added pulled chicken. So for quite a few years I've passed this place while driving down 278 and a couple of weeks ago Kat & I went there for church lunch. It wasn't bad! The staff were friendly and helpful, and our orders came out quite quickly. I heard mixed reviews on their tacos, so we both opted for bowls, as we are kinda trying to eat a little better these days. This was an amazing find on our way home from Hilton head. We ordered the corn dip as an appetizer and it was some of the best that we've had. But it's just a very small portion not much to share for a table of three. I also had the fried chicken bun, which was delicious, but there really was a lot going on with it, pimento cheese, slaw, pickles, etc. I ended up taking most of it off the bun. Food is good. Service is good too. The menu is unique they have bowls, and you can make these bows anyway you like. I had the avacodo bowl. This came with arugula, avocados, with mango and corn salsa. It was very refreshing light and healthy. I would order this again. The ranch dressing was OK. Next time I'll order it with Italian dressing or something less viscous. They have a nice outdoor patio and a full bar. read more

They have an amazing burger that's juicy and worth trying but don't upgrade to the sweet potato fries, they are an extra charge and the restaurant doesn't have any special cinnamon butter to complement them. One in our party had the chicken sandwich which looked amazing and they said it tasted really good. Stopped here on our way into HHI from out of town after a long drive with lots of traffic. Kids were starving, and this place had great reviews. Had a good meal, good experience overall. However, on our way out we noticed the American flag with the thin blue line flying on the side of the restaurant. Now some people might not notice this, or know what it means. But this flag has ties to white nationalism and racism. It was popularized as a retort to the Black Lives Matter movement, basically excusing police violence against black people. So while their food was quite good, flying this flag outside their establishment sends a symbol to patrons that black people or people of color *may* not be as welcome. And in my opinion, no meal is so good that I'm willing to patronize a place that doesn't welcome "all." read more

Place is awesome!! Greeted first minute we came in. Then the general manager walked us to our table outside on the patio. Very friendly and happy man. We had two dogs, had a great waitress Sam and everything was perfect. Being here for Christmas week is a bonus. Having a dog friendly, extra friendly staff is fabulous!! Manager hooked up the heater for my cold teen boys, we had chips and guacamole which was yummy. Service was fast, place was clean and every person who worked there had a smile on their face!! On 8/18/25 my wife and I went to Chow Daddy's at about 4 PM. We were greeted by the receptionist as she opened the door for us. We were quickly seated and served drinks very fast. The music was a bit high and they turned it down on our request. The waiter was very nice and kept our drinks full all the time. Service was amazing and the whole experience wonderful. Food was terrific and timing between appetizers and the meal was perfect. We went here two yews ago and everything was horrible. The service did not exist and the food was bad. I was reluctant to go again, but my wife said give them another chance. It was Monday and places open were limited. Glad we took the chance we will be back soon. read more

We have passed this place many times without stopping. We tried it today and will definitely be back! We had grilled chicken tacos and the BBQ mushroom tacos. Both were phenomenal! The chicken tacos were in grilled tortillas which were nicely crisp. The mushroom tacos had a sweet heat - not too spicy but just the right amount of heat. Both tacos had delicious slaw. The french fries were hot and seasoned well. The service were really good - Jordan k was our server. She was sweet, attentive, and made good recommendations. The iced tea tasted good and was very refreshing. The general manager was there helping to train a new employee. He was continually checking on the patrons ensuring everyone had what they needed. Went to Chow Daddy's for a late lunch around 4 pm yesterday. First time trying it out. I had a smoked chicken and spicy shrimp taco with fries and sweet tea. My wife had an avocado salad. Salad was quite large with lots of different veggies. Tacos came with some great sauces and cole slaw on them. Refills on sweet tea came without asking. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. We ate outside because we had our little dog with us on a leash. He even brought a bowl of water for the dog. Only downside was traffic noise from Route 278 and patio is pretty basic. Went in for a drink at the bar. Kat was there behind the counter and she was great. Got me a drink she saw online and i wasn't disappointed. Also will add I am celiac and they had gluten free buns for their burgers and it was delicious. The bread however would fall apart due to it being gluten free and flimsy as all gluten free bread is. We just moved to Bluffton last week and wanted to try Chow Daddy's out. Upon arriving we were greeted cheerfully by the manager Remington. We told him we just moved here and he was more than happy to fill us in on all the restaurant has to offer and some recommendations. He then left us with our server London. She was as nice as can be and so cheerful! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back to try more delicious meals. Drinks were spot on from the bar as well.
