My new fave local place in Bluffton area. I'm on town for business and I've been here twice this week. Once I ordered blackened fish tacos which were superb and the last time I ordered their bbq pulled pork that is served with arugula on jalapeno cornbread. Toss roasted sweet potatoes on the side and you have quite the meal for under $20. The best part is the food is not heavy at all so you can eat your whole meal and because it's all locally fresh you don't hate yourself afterward. The place itself inside is well done wood decor with kickass light fixtures. Good sized bar and the staff is extremely friendly. Both times I got exemplary customer service at lunch time from all who were there not just my waiters. I will be coming back to Chow Daddys every visit from now on. Bravo! read more

Super bummed. Based on how great the reviews and menu looked decided to get takeout while passing through the area. Ordered the nachos, cornbread, shrimp taco and pulled pork bowl. The cornbread was good with the sauce but the shrimp taco, nachos and bowl I would not recommend. Unfortunately the portion size of pork was very small in both orders and the tortilla was very stale. Didn't end up finishing any of the food which says a lot for my family lol. Maybe just a bad takeout experience and may have had a different one if we were able to dine in. read more

I was looking for a local establishment that offered veggies and something a bit different with outdoor dining. luckily found Chow Daddy's a few miles from our hote. Husband had the Trippy Taco salad with smoked chicken and was impressed by the freshness of all the ingredients. I just want to start off by saying that this place has always had amazing burgers, but the service is exceptional. My fiancé and I have had the absolute worst day that we could've had with him finding out one of his buddies passed away just a couple of hours before we came to the restaurant. The manager Brandon was phenomenal and let me just say that he made a grown man cry by proving above and beyond service by just going off of us having a bad day. I know I get emotional over deaths but the customer service that Brandon provided, not just to us, but to everyone that was at the restaurant was more than amazing. Had a nice lunch at this cute restaurant with an urban country decor. I felt cool just sitting there. LoL We had a large breakfast so we kept it light. I ordered one fried chicken taco with avocado and garlic aioli. I skipped the Sriracha and jalapeños. It was delicious and since I was not that hungry, one was just enough. They aren't very big so on a normal day I'd order 2. They had several other tacos to choose from: Pork; Roasted Mushroom; Grilled Chicken; Shrimp; Kale & Quinoa; and Steak. TIP- From 11 - 2 pm they sell individual tacos for $4.00 each. After 2pm they are $10 with 2 in an order. The kale and white bean soup was delicious too. In fact, everything coming out of the kitchen looked good. The large menu includes appetizers ("snacks"), soups, salads, sandwiches, sliders, burgers and full plates. Service was excellent. A fine place to eat. The service is quick, and our server, Mia, was completely on he game. Good selection of beer, none local though. The food was tasty, I got the smoked fried chicken that was absolutely delicious! I had never even considered combining the two, but the outcome was absolutely tender and delicious with copious amounts of the chicken. The only drawback was the portion size for he buns. While the food was delicious, the amount was not quite enough to fill a grown man's stomach. Overall, the experience was great. My partner and I enjoyed eating here. The staff are very accommodating. The restaurant decor is fun and eccentric. I had the pulled pork tacos and they were phenomenal. My partner and I shared fries and they were equally delicious. The best part of the trip was the homemade ice cream sandwich. We split it between two people and it was still a lot of food. We were on the way to Savannah, but decided to make a little detour to find a decent place for a quick lunch. It was mostly empty when we arrived, so we were seated immediately. I ordered the spicy shrimp plate, which came with rice and seasonal greens, added a side of fries, and an unsweet tea. My sister ordered the Chow Daddy burger and an unsweet tea. The tea was fresh and not weak, so that was pleasant. However, it did take over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Even if being cooked to order, that is an unusually long time to have to wait. Upon arrival, my food was all cold, but by then I was too hungry to wait any longer. My sister said her burger was cold too but her fries were not. So apparently it takes 30 minutes to cook fries? The shrimp were well seasoned, but overly salty and the rice was both over and undercooked, and I'm really not sure how they accomplished that. Some bites were crunchy and some were so mushy. The seasonal greens were okay, but I would prefer the option of having the sauce on the side as well as knowing what it was since some people can have allergies. The server said it was some sort of light dressing, but it was a bit overpowering for my tastes. The fries were crispy and thin, so that was a plus. My sister enjoyed her burger (even cold) and said it was more than enough for two meals. Overall, it was okay, and definitely better than just going with fast food. Does not deserve the title daddy. To start with the establishment it's self doesn't seem clean. The windowsills are covered in dust and there are dead bugs on the ledges. The portion sizes are incredibly small compared to the pricing. Not a single refill was brought to the table except a single beer. The food was really good. But the lighting was horrendous and the staff didn't seem to give a darn that guests were struggling to read the menu. Above us were two burned out lights. Great takeout meal tonight for the family! I ordered the roasted veggie bowl with fish and enjoyed how the bowl ingredients were portioned out in the to go container, so I could either mix or eat the ingredients individually. This is gonna be a bit controversial to other locals, but honestly Chow Daddy's has some of the best burgers in the area. That is if you are looking for a quality, slightly more expensive burgers. I've tried most of the local burger specific places in Bluffton and on the island, and although Chow Daddy's doesn't have the largest selection, it remains the most consistent. I've been here many times and the burger is always exactly the same, in the best way. Serving size is great, fries are great, and it's always packed with flavor. If your looking to get super custom, there are better options...but if you just want a solid burger, give them a try! Additionally, their pulled chicken bowl is another solid pick (pro-tip, ask for some BBQ sauce to go with it). Some great drink options round out this place nicely and it's never packed, which might have thrown me off the first time, but I certainly don't mind eating sooner! One minor note, they can get expensive, my wife and I can easily drop close to $50 for two meals and a couple non-alcoholic drinks with tip. read more

First time ever in a Chow Daddy's restaurant and I was impressed the moment we walked in. I took my mom to the 15 Towne Dr location and we were immediately greeted by Dan at the door. He was so welcoming and all smiles. Dan sat us at a clean, comfy table and asked us if we would like any drinks. I ordered coffee and my mother unsweet tea. Dan let me know he was brewing me fresh coffee for me which was much appreciated. Cody took our order at the table when we were ready - and we had some special requests. Remington brought over the food piping hot, exactly as we ordered with Cody, and he was also super friendly with a smile ear to ear. Throughout our meal, we were offered coffee and tea refills, and whatever else we needed. The 3 of them - Remington, Dan and Cody were handling the entire restaurant --- flawlessly.
