Just ordered takeout from Chopsticks, our go-to Chinese/Japanese/Thai takeout place that have been consistent and super friendly. Their consistent quality and reliable service is something that we want to give them kudos for. Food - Great All the Japanese rolls are delicious with great varieties. The pad Thai is flavorful and the Singaporean fried noodles, Shrimp and walnuts, eggplants are our favorites. I particularly like the scallion pancake and fried chicken wings on the appetizer menu. Service - Great Great friendly staff who always know your order. We order delivery as much as takeout with reasonable wait time - they always bring you water or tea while you wait, and we chat about what's on the news. They make a point to know your likes and preferences, and always makes sure any particular dish is not too spicy (or vis versa). I wish I could give this place no stars because it certainly doesn't deserve any . We ordered sesame chicken and fried rice . The rice tasted stale , it wasn't even Chinese fried rice .It had lumps of white rice with too much soy sauce ,no onions , no eggs , no peas . Seasme chicken was really not edible . It was chewy and the chicken didn't taste like good quality meat at all . It was dry and didn't come with any veggies .This was such a bad experience .I think for the price , you can get good quality Chinese food with flavorful ingredients some where else in the area . Tried Chopsticks for the first time and it was excellent all around. Online order was easy and when I arrived and called from outside they brought the food right to my car. I haven't had Chinese food for a long time and it all was excellent. We got a bunch of different items for the family to try many items and I particularly liked the chicken with mixed vegetables, Mongolian beef, and Singapore rice noodles. I really like this place! They are close to my office so I come here often. The service is great, and they are quick with getting orders out. I always order the hot and sour soup and the hunan shrimp. Their hot and sour soup is delicious. It has the right color, consistency, ingredients, and taste, compared to other places that will serve water down soup with mostly tofu. They use real large sized shrimps in their hunan. It's Saturday night, my mom doesn't feel like cooking, and my boyfriend wants Chinese. We debated for a really long time on where to go before we found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is pretty small, and it became apparent as we ate that the majority of their business comes from people ordering take out. We each started off with spring rolls and egg rolls. These were good. However, they were small and only one came per order (again, our usual place gives us two bigger ones for the same price). But they were good, nonetheless. For dinner, I stuck by my Chicken Lo Mein (much to my mother's amusement) and was actually struck by how good it was. The chicken was tender and cooked exactly how I like it. There also was a very good meat to noodles to vegetables ratio. A lot of places go cheap and give you way too many vegetables, or not enough noodles. Or just not enough. I somehow finished my entire plate. It was shameful, but it was that good. The boyfriend got General Tso's and it was good. But it's much different from anywhere else we've been because of how spicy it is. A lot of places advertise the dish as being spicy, but I have come across very few that have actually been so. We think it's because most places give you the hot peppers separately and this place looks like they cook it right into the sauce. Overall, this place was very good. Im not sure this place is even legit. First strike was a phone order. I was told 20 min. I arrived about 25 min after placing the order and my food was not ready. Not one person was in the "restaurant" (bunch of Wal-Mart tables filled with employees children and bags of food from grocery store). Took about an hour in total. When I got the food, it was mediocre at best. Second occasion was a walk in order. Again, took close to 40 min for General Tso and some soup. I also dared to try the "sushi". WORSE taste ever. Old, gummy nasty fish. Hami Sushi in Herndon is 100 times better. The people taking orders dont speak English well and get angry at the CUSTOMER when you order Hot and Sour Soup and get Won-Ton. I ordered a lunch online. Sesame Chicken and an order of rice. The staff are efficient and courteous, and the wait is not long for your online food order to be prepared. The restaurant's Website did not state that steamed rice is included with the order so I thought that I should purchase it separately which I did. In fact, rice is included with the lunch so the extra rice that I purchased was not eaten ... a waste. That's minor compared to the real problem. The Website allows you to check off "NO SUGAR" which I did. This was apparently ignored or not noticed by the cooks. The sesame chicken is overwhelmingly sweet plus including a sauce that is nothing but sweet. This is mid-west Chinese food, the kind that every small town in the hinterlands has. Plenty of sugar for what is perceived as American taste for sweets. There are REAL Chinese restaurants in the greater DC area. I recommend that you order your food from one of those. This is the best place for Chinese in the Herndon area. I love the quality of the food and the service is excellent. They have a very robust menu selection of many Asian dishes ( even sushi !!) If I were to have any cons against this place, it would have to be the lack of originality in their menu. If you like Asian cuisine then you have probably had all the dishes on the menu. I went to this place tonite. we called ahead and still had to wait about 20-30 minutes which was fine since the business was busy at that time. I and people (total 7) were seated but we got the corner seat which only had one fire plate. Each long table had two fire plates approximately five people could fit in for one plate. We asked whether we can occupy the whole table and use two fire plates since we were 7. The manager came and asked ' I didn't think seven people would need two fire plates. That did not sound friendly and what really made us pissed off is that prior to our (7 people) group, a party of five people was seated on one fire plate and the server asked us to wait since you guys are seven people which would need two fire plates. The attitude of the server and manger was just awful and we just came out. I do not know how their food tastes like but their customer service just sucks. We ordered: 1) Walnut Shrimp - Fried JUMBO SHRIMP covered in creamy brown sauce and walnut on the side. My first impression of this dish was wow! They actually have JUMBO SHRIMP hahha... I love the sweet caramelized sauce, but still, I wish they had the traditional one with creamy white sauce. 2) Hunan Chicken - Stir fry white chicken meat, mix veggies in brown sauce. The brown sauce was okay, I wish it was a little spicier. 3) General Tsao's chicken - Sweet and Spicy sauce deep fried chicken, it was good. 4) FREE Chicken fried rice (if you order over $25, you can get FREE fried rice. YOU MUST ASK FOR IT.) I have no complaint about this dish since it was free. Hahha..... (But my fried rice is better =P.) Ugh! My office treated employees to lunch today and we ordered from Chopsticks. My Singapore noodles were bone dry and lacked of taste. Some of the noodles were not even coated with seasoning. Shiu Mai appetizer had a mystery sea-food like flavor that reminds me of frozen sea-food dumpling from a ethnic grocery store. My co-workers had dishes that were super bland. They were lemon-grass chicken and chicken brocoli, I believe. The sushi/California rolls were OK. The only edibly decent food was fried chicken wings appetizer. Needless to say, we threw away the menu and most of our food. Seriously. Asian Fusion here seems to mean Asian Confusion, as the cook didn't seem to know what the hell he/she was making. This is one of my favorite Asian carryout places. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. The Chinese/Japanese fusion works great for me. Sushi alone does not fill me up. I prefer to order a small entree and roll or two of sushi. The problem is - most sushi restaurants do not offer many alternatives. Many times, the only alternative is beef teriyaki or chicken teriyaki. It usually costs $15-$20 and tastes like card board. We ordered Hunan chicken, but called them to make sure they could substitute the chicken for shrimp. They reassured us that this will not be a problem. Once, we received our delivery, we received Hunan chicken instead of shrimp. We called them immediately to notify them, but they would not replace the order and told us they would provide us a credit for next time.
