Wow, was that good. And unexpected. I just sampled a variety of lunch specials delivered from the Chopsticks on Spring Street. You just don't expect quality at this price. First, the meal was delivered in the blink of an eye. I'm not kidding. After giving the credit card details over the phone. I went to the garage door to wait; and the meals were delivered that instant (2.02 miles). The way it works with online ordering through Chopsticks. You don't have the option of inputting straight credit card data online. They call you back and you give them the cc details. The fried donuts and the Lo mein came in styrofoam containers. The spring rolls in a separate bag. Everything else came in reheatable plastic containers. Perfect for the office! You can reheat what's left later in the day. You can take it home and reheat it. I have one of the containers standing on its side in a large styrofoam thermos behind me. No runs, no drips, no errors. The whole shebang came in a large hard cardboard container. I'm used to the plastic bags with all the contents moving around. I got napkins, plastic forks, a styrofoam dish. The shrimp, the meat, the celery, the broccoli, the peppers and onions were first rate. The beef was soft. They put the rice in a separate plastic compartment. The rice doesn't intermingle with the main dish. At all. The fried donuts were a real surprise. The donuts came hot. They tasted just as good as the sugared donuts from the donut shop. The white rice, fried rice and spring roll filling are plain - no meat, egg, etc . The celery and broccoli may or may not come well marinated. The Pork Lo mein, Pepper Steak, General Tso's/Kung Po Beef, and Triple Delight were fine. The sesame chicken was only so-so. They didn't use white meat. The Kung Pao and General Tso's chicken came mild. Like I asked for. The soda came cold. Something you don't think about. Till it comes warm :) Frankly, for the last several years I've received spotty quality from a number of area delivery services. Usually the first meal would come near perfect:) Then not so :( Lately, food delivery in Herndon/Reston/Oak Hill has really picked up its game. I hope the next order from Chopsticks holds up. read more

Many bad experiences. This is one of the few places that delivers to my work and we often order from here when working late. I can honestly say I hate it every time. The sushi is HUGE... Like need a knife a fork to even think about it. The Asian entrees are very average and nothing strikes me about them for flavor or quality. This place isn't too bad. It's not awesome, but not terrible either. It's become our go to place for take out. The Chinese is decent but just your typical Chinese place. I was excited that they serve sushi. We ordered some basic sushi rolls the last couple of times and they weren't too bad. Passable. One bonus is that you can order online. none of the at talking to someone who probably doesn't speak English very well. Overall and ok experience. I've ordered delivery from chopsticks 3 times now. The first 2 times were Singapore noodles and hot and sour soup, which were good but also seem to be items that are relatively hard to mess up. Let me state that their delivery time has been good on all orders. I got the chicken with cashew nut most recently and it was a BUST to say the least. At least half the dish was water chestnuts (literally), and the rest celery, chicken, and cashew (so one can imagine how much actual chicken was included amongst all that. *sigh*). Furthermore, there were bone shards that I bit down on (but luckily caught and pulled out of my mouth) in the dish as well. Seems like it may be time to find a better Chinese (etc) spot in the Nova area. read more

It's average NoVA Chinese food. They have a good lunch special deal, they're fast and the people who work there are always pleasant and accommodating. I wouldn't say that the food is excellent but it also isn't bad. I do think that they skimp on the seafood dishes, there is a lot of filler and not a lot of seafood. I'd rather pay more and get a full dish instead of a dish full of celery and carrots. If you're looking for something fast and close enough, chopsticks isn't bad. They get bonus points because you can order online and pay with PayPal although the distance for delivery is sometimes off and doesn't always include their entire delivery radius. read more

I've been picking up from Chopsticks for many years now. All the different things I get I would consider very good for the price range. I quite like their green and red Thai curries. Worst experience ever. We was told we had a 15 min. wait was more like 45 minutes. After going and asking how much longer it would be, turns out we were skipped and forgotten about. Finally we were seated and then after waiting 10 minutes for waitresses I had to go ask the front were was our waitress. It was Mothers day and we were there with my mom and really wanted this to be a great experience. But boy it was anything but. We never actually seen our waitresses but once as I was told she was busy with a big party in the back. As we were seated in the front. After we finished eating I had to go get my own to go boxes and fortune cookies. You would think after all of this I would have been offered a discount or something but no. This is the go to place for Chinese take out for my boyfriend and I. This review is just for take out I've never actually been to the restaurant. The price is fairly decent and the quality of food is good but not amazing. We usually order general Tso chicken and it has always been good. (The salt and pepper chicken has too much onions and green peppers in it and also the wonton soup was disappointing). The reason why I order here is because they give me free California rolls with purchase over $25 . I would rate this place 3 stars but the extra star is for the delivery guy...he's always fast and he comes right to our door in a high security apartment complex that you need to buzz in and out. We met up at Chopsticks, and I have been here a few times since then. It's not swanky in it's decor - it's very plain and simple. It's not even that nice, but i'm guessing the majority of their business is carryout. The lunch specials are generous and the food is of good quality and flavor. I was surprised by the generous portions, and it's really enough for 2 meals almost. I don't expect great service in a place like this, but it was adequate. I haven't tried their sushi - but based on their chinese food, I would be back to try different things on their menu. read more

I've ordered Chinese delivery from several places and have been relatively disappointed until I found this place. Quick delivery and the food has always been better than expected. Maybe that's because the other places have been horrible the few times I have ordered from Chopsticks the food has been very delicious, portions are very generous, and the veggies seem to be really fresh. I have been happy with everything my husband and I have ordered and we are picky about our Chinese food! I moved here about a year ago and was sad to leave my old-standby Chinese place. Fortunately, someone at work mentioned Chopsticks - and I think I've ordered from here every Friday night since! The crab rangoons are always fresh and hot when they are delivered and their dishes are saucy and use good meat instead of the normal "grey" sort of chicken/beef that you get with delivery. First experience here. Used the online ordering system to place an order for delivery. It took a little longer than the estimated 35 minutes, but not too bad. The food was good, but nothing special. Here's what I ordered and what I thought of it: Egg Drop Soup- had corn in it. I'm guessing this was just a kitchen accident that went unnoticed. Needless to say, it was odd. Fried Wontons- Mostly pastry with very little filling. Probably would not order these again. Spring Rolls- Excellent. No complaint here. Triple Delight- This dish was good. The sauce was flavorful. Veggies were crisp. Chicken was tender. Beef was a little tough, as was the shrimp. Fried Rice- As others have noted, the fried rice is just white rice with soy sauce. No peas, carrots, egg, etc. It is well cooked, though, and went well with the Triple Delight. Makimono Combo G- This consists of California maki, shrimp tempura maki, and salmon skin maki (my favorite of the three, though all were good). Fried Donuts- Delicious! Overall, they don't earn rave reviews but I would try them out again. read more

Used to order from here weekly when I moved to Herndon in 2007 because it was one of the only places that delivered sushi. Then I began to notice a downward slope of quality in their sushi and a steep one at that (probably trying to save a buck). I swore this place off for good after I found Khumo Sushi and tasted what real sushi tasted like again. Well, after years of not even thinking of Chopsticks, me and my friend didn't feel like leaving the house and I broke down and ordered again....terrible. Salmon tasted extremely fishy and was pale orange. General Tso's was overlooked and stiff and Singapore noodles very dry. Extremely disappointed and back to boycotting them. read more

I have been enjoying Chopsticks for several years and have never had one complaint. My last experience is just one example of why I will continue to frequent their establishment. Tonight the pancakes were left off my carry out for one of my entres. Before I even arrived home there was a call to my cell phone letting me know they had been left off and that they would arrive at my house in time to eat. THAT TO ME IS SERVICE. The food was flavorful and yummy and the portions were really big! I had the Crab Rangoon (not the best I have had but still yummy), spring roll, veggie lo mien, and a chicken dish (can't remember which one). My boyfriend and I shared the food for dinner and there was enough left over for us both to take it for lunch the next day! I think I ordered the wrong thing here and would've loved what I almost ordered. I got Orange Chicken and should've gotten Kung Pao Chicken. I say that because the orange sauce was great - spicy dark and with a really nice zip to it. The chicken on the other hand was so heavily breaded that some pieces felt like they were all breading. So I suspect the Kung Pao - which isn't breaded would've been much better. The manager and server were both friendly and helpful. So three stars. Great taste but need to limit the cook from overdoing the cornstarch. read more

I go to Chopsticks about twice a month have never had a complaint! I usually go in for their sushi which is decently priced and freshly made. I recently tried a spicy noodle dish and will definitely be ordering it again! If you're wanting a mix between Chinese food and sushi for a fair price then I highly recommend Chopsticks! read more

They have a great selection for Vegans. Their General Tso's Bean Curd is excellent, we also love their Veggie sushi combo and the Moo Shoo Veggie. They are well prepared and we have never felt like we were getting something they just threw together. read more

I've tried every single Chinese restaurant in Reston, Fairfax, and even one in New York City. This place beats them all. My favorite dish (and what I use as the barometer for gauging the quality of a Chinese restaurant) is beef lo mein. Almost every other place simply uses noodles, beef, and a spectacular amount of onion. Chopsticks actually uses other ingredients, including 2 of my all-time favorites: celery and carrots. It's what makes the dish. (The veggie fried rice is also amazing.) My favorite thing about the place is their liberal use of tasty vegetables. Every other place was either too oily, tasted too generic, smelled like cigarette smoke, or put way too many onions and mushrooms in their stuff. Anytime I order from somewhere else just to try something different, I have regretted it. I already know where to find the best Chinese food.
