The hubby had bookmarked "Chomp" a while ago. And since deep down inside, we are truly Rhode Islanders, we never took the leap to drive over the bridge. Until..... the hubby couldn't decide on a place for his birthday dinner. He searched Yelp and all of our bookmarks and remembered how badly he wanted to go to "Chomp", and if his lovely wife was going to drive since it was his birthday, why not?! I didn't really know what to expect because I glanced at the Yelp page, but didn't really care since it was his birthday. We started off with a beer and punch drink. The beer was a double IPA, which the hubby really really liked. I was not crazy about the punch, maybe it was the raspberry vodka that threw me off. For an appetizer we had the Kim chi pork belly bao. I had never tried bao before and was surprised at how delicious this was! The dough was so soft, and although the flavor of the actual dough is very plain, I really enjoyed the texture. Now let's talk about the pork belly inside. It was crunchy but juicy, and the sauce was perfect! This was a great choice. I give all credit to my other half, as I would have never ordered this. The birthday boy got the French onion burger and I got the bacon burger. The burgers were delicious! That's the good part about going somewhere that specializes in one main dish! The hubby loved his all beef burger. He said the meat was perfectly cooked and high in quality. My burger was also very good, but it was a pork and beef burger. I was a little hesitant to order this, but just went with it. It was very flavorful and a bit spicy, which I liked. It tasted like an Italian sausage. The texture of the meat was a little different than an all beef patty and it was very juicy. Although it was very good and tasty, I'm not sure if I'd get the same patty next time. It was just a little different than what I had expected. We didn't get dessert because it was a Wednesday and we were so full!!!! read more

It's been a while, so it's time for a review update. We still love Chomp. They have been extremely successful and will be opening another restaurant in Bristol this year. The success tends to mean long waits, so we try to go either really early or really late to get a table. We don't go often because I am a perpetual dieter and the food isn't the healthiest for you. Sure, they have salads and you have the option to get salad greens as your side instead of fries, but I can't go there and not get the fries with their homemade ketchup. They do offer traditional ketchup now if you do not like the homemade one. The menu changes fairly often to keep up with the seasons and the beer and cocktail list do as well. My husband enjoys the various beer options and really enjoy the cocktails. On our most recent visit I had the Ginger snap Manhattan and it was delicious! I highly recommend it. Get the frickles. These are the best frickles I've ever had. The Nashville Hot chicken sandwich was a thumbs up for me as well. If you haven't been, its really worth the visit. read more

Chomp is top notch! Friends had recommended Chomp to me in passing over a year ago and I'd been meaning to try it, but after over hearing my coworkers talk about a new burger they had, a Truffle Burger (holy...yes please!!) I HAD to go. It's a brand new item on their menu and may be the best thing I've ever eaten. Perfectly cooked, juicy beef patty with a truffle cream sauce and hen of the woods mushrooms (love!)...Pair that with a nice cold craft brew and I was a happy girl! The place is quite small with the whole "gourmet pub" feel with paintings of beer taps on the wall, a hand written draft list, and a short menu of well thought out house made menu items. Even their fries were fabulous! (Though I didn't care for their house made ketchup. Not a fan of fennel). The waitress was also amazing. I didn't catch her name but she defiantly added to the experience. I stuck to my beer with dinner but their cocktail menu also had some interesting options. Quite a few included house infused vodka or gin...I'm impressed. I highly recommend Chomp to foodies, beer lovers, burger fanatics and anyone who just really appreciates a delicious "simple" meal. Went here last night with my fiancé and I'd say it's pretty great. I got the chomp hot chicken sandwich (get the sauce on the side.... It was really spicy) and she got the smash burger. We were both very pleased with our choices. The fried chicken on my sandwich was amazing! Nice crunch on the outside. But so moist on the inside. The burger was super tasty and juicy as well. The sauce on it paired perfectly. Also, my fiancé never eats pickles but she ate the pickles on her sandwich! The are very mild and not to vinegary. Fries were great. We paid 3 bucks extra to sub one of the sides for Mac and cheese but found the Mac and cheese to be pretty underwhelming. Not bad tho. Tasty, just not BAM! The waitress, Avery, was super nice and gave me that tip about the sauce on the side of the sandwich which saved me from not being able to feel my mouth at the end of the night. I do suggest making a reservation on a weekend bc they were pretty busy! read more

They have been great in terms of delivering quality service and food throughout the pandemic, sometimes we would have to wait a little extra for an order but they're a popular business and we're glad to support their success. Chomp is a Warren icon. The food is incredibly good, all of it. We get takeout from here regularly and I've never been disappointed! Some of our favorite items include chicken tenders, cacio e pepe balls, caesar salad (the crispy Brussels sprouts on top are genius), French onion burger, crab Rangoon burger, smash burger, and the list goes on. We were excited to try chomp, especially since they have a lot of awards under their name. However, our experience was not ideal. We had a reservation and arrived on time. When we got there our table was not ready and in fact that table had yet to receive their check. No big deal, this happen. There is really nowhere to wait inside without feeling like you are in the way. Luckily we both had jackets so we waited outside (this was in January). Once we were seated our table was right next to the door to go out to their outside dining area, which they still had open with propane heaters. Every time someone opened the door you would get a chilly breeze. I would highly bringing a sweatshirt if you are coming in the colder months! I noticed throughout the evening that even the wait staff had their jackets on. We ordered our food, and we ordered more than we usually would, so we could try a lot of different options. For the food -- we started with appetizers of the wings. We ordered both the Korean and house bbq, unfortunately we only received the house bbq. When we asked our waitress about it she did go back and check the order on the pos system and returned to tell us that she entered it right then we pretty much got just an "sorry, it's not my fault it's the kitchen's fault" we also ordered the Mac and cheese balls, they were just okay. We then ordered our dinners. One hot honey chicken sandwich, which was delicious and their original burger, which was fine, I wouldn't say it was anything special. Overall our experience was just okay. It could have just been an off night. We won't be rushing back anytime soon but maybe we will try it when we have warmer weather again. read more

Normally one of my favorite spots but disappointed with my last visit. I ordered the crispy quinoa salad with a burger added. In total it came to $21 which was a bit surprising but having always been amazed by Chomp in the past, I was ok with it. What I got was a salad smaller than the one that came on the side with my friends' burgers and an oddly square shaped patty that was dry as a bone. When I had the plate put in front of me I had one friend ask in all seriousness "I didn't know they had steaks here" based off the appearance and another ask if I had ordered just a side salad rather than an entree portion. I have never had a bad burger at chomp and consider them my favorite spot in Rhody. This was just a let down especially considering it was on a Wednesday and not busy. The burger was both visually and texture wise a hockey puck. I'll definitely be back and will update the review to the five stars I know Chomp is worthy of if they get back on track. read more

I'm giving two stars because my boyfriend had a decent burger but mine was not as expected. I ordered a vegetarian burger and was told I could make it anything I wanted. After specifying no mushrooms and asking for cheddar cheese I received a burger with mushrooms on it. After sending it back I received the same burger with the mushrooms scraped off and the thinnest slice of cheese on it. Now I have a cold burger with some mushrooms left on my tray. The burger wasn't tasty, barely any cheese or aioli sauce on it. Also, the bun was toasted on the same grill as a regular burger so after being a vegetarian for 22 years, I got to eat hamburger grease. The waitress also neglected to offer us more drinks until we were done eating. Their 'ketchup' was just okay. I didn't get many fries making my $15 meal sparse. My boyfriend's burger was cooked medium, as he ordered. He said it was good but not $14 worth of good. He didn't have many fries either. The restaurant is small and I felt like we were sitting half in a closet. We waited a while before the waitress took our payment. We arrived 15 minutes after they opened and were promptly seated. With not so great service, one okay meal and one awful meal I see no reason to go back. Good thing warren is full of other great restaurants. read more

This place is outrageously good. The menu has a great variety from classic to otherworldly(the stack!). I love eating in the outdoor seating area aptly names the Beer Garden. Speaking of which, they have an impressive beer list and creative cocktails! At first glance the burgers can be intimidating as they are on the large side but ten minutes later when you've scoffed it down you'll be planning your next visit to sample more of the menu! The house made ketchup has seemed to be divided, at least in my group of friends, I personally love it. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the Bao. They switch it up sometimes but always have a Bao appetizer on the menu. When they had the duck confit Bao my life was basically complete. Hopefully they will reintroduce that at some point but until then I will continue going back and getting some Bao, a burger and a few beers! read more

Originality is the key, and with something so tried and true in the United States, it's hard to be original when you make a burger. Chomp Kitchen and Drinks did just that. I tried the Bourbon Bacon Burger and it was to die for. I could have never imaged how well the smoky aioli would complement the peppered bacon and half pork half beef burger. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Chomp yet! This is the restaurant that brought me to the Warren restaurant scene and the place that prevents me from ever ordering a burger elsewhere (except for Harry, but they're so different). This last visit we decided to order a couple apps and share a monster of a cheeseburger. Our go to starter is the Korean style wings, which are fantastic. Remind me to get my own order next time, my husband polished off about 4 before I finished my first! We also tried the Falafel bites for the first time. Shockingly good. Even my toddler ate them! They came with two sauces that we saved to dip our fries. We shared the Cheeeeeeese burger (did I get the amount of E's right?!). And it was ridiculous, In the best way. It was basically a burger in between two pieces of grilled cheese with some amazing aioli on it. Albeit quit tricky to cut, it was very shareable. They had a new cocktail menu and I tried the bourbon mule. It was delicious and I'd love to see it on the permanent menu. My husb ordered a couple of beers off their vast beer menu. They also have chicken fingers and fries for kids, you just have to ask as it's not on the menu. Super kid friendly in my opinion, if you go early enough. I wouldn't dare bring my toddler on a Saturday at 8 when people are trying to enjoy a date night. The staff was extra friendly to my daughter and we always appreciate that when we go nicer places. They do have high chairs too. Speaking of date night, I did overhear some people complaining to each other about the price. And I do understand some people are not comfortable paying $15-20 for a burger. However this place is very high quality, almost artistry burgers. So always great for a special occasion. Stopped in on a Friday night and the place was very lively and busy (what I expect from a good place on a Friday night). The casual atmosphere is filled with a friendly and attentive staff. Started off with the "frickles", which were amazing. The food quality and presentation were on point . For an order of medium well and well done burgers - both came out medium rare. This was a big disappointment for an establishment that specializes in burgers. Even with the food not cooked to order it was delicious. Make sure to ask for "regular" ketchup along with your order. They make their own ketchup, which is great to try but it had an overpowering "sweet licorice" taste that can take away their amazing French fries. read more

I have followed the pictures of delicious burgers on instagram for some time but it took me a while to make it to warren to try their burgers! I had the Bandit burger which did not disappoint. They're a little way off the bike path off a pretty busy road but the outdoor seating was still enjoyable. Also tried their providence location and was just as delicious. read more

Oh. My. Goodness. Hellloooo Warren. Guess you are finally on the official food map. Well its about time! My uncle lives in Warren and he is my foodie partner. He told me I had to try this place. Well he actually told me about all the tasty food he was eating and made me jealous about going to this place. So we did. It was strange to have almost all the employees know his name and say, "Hey Don how ya doin!?" Nice vibe, right off the bat. I like it. I was introduced around and met the owners Dad and the bartender and some of the wait staff, very nice group! We did have a wait a few minuets, but hey that's just enough time to grab a beer or a glass of wine and chill outside for a few. We sat down and ordered the chicharones. If you like bacon, this is bacon's sexy cousin. I tried The Local, which is perfectly named because it is exactly how I would have made it at home. Again, I stress that I am Portuguese and love chorizo! It belongs on or in everything, seriously. Be real. It was a chorizo burger with sautéed kale and yellow mustard on top. I also asked for some of the sweet chili caramel goodness sauce. I don't know who came up with it but it is a spicy sticky sweet sauce that I would put on everything from chicken wings and pizza to a chorizo burger and fries! I did opt out of the fries and got a salad instead, got to be honest I didn't like the dressing of the salad, but who cares it came with a chorizo burger! It wasn't over done or tough or chewy it was perfect. And it came on a nice hearty bun not those wimpy McDonald buns. My uncle had the special. It was a Mediterranean sandwich with grilled chicken, pesto, and some other stuff. I was kinda focused on my burger, haha. I sadly didn't take any pictures either because I was too busy eating! Another rookie mistake. I am all about the 'food porn' if you will. Take photos of the untouched beauty, then dig in. A night of Dudek Lanes duckpin bowling and Chomp across the street -- this is what Warren dreams are made of. What an unexpected delight! As much as it all feels a bit out of place way out Child St. and close to the Swansea line, it is a most welcome Warren addition! Love the casual/contemporary atmosphere - feels good to hang out here. Warning: given this is really THE only game in town quite like this, this place is JUMPIN' with all hype deserved. Best get there super-early or super-late if at all possible. No reservations! Chomp's appetizers couldn't have started stronger. The cinnamon and sugar wings was a conversion experience. Sounded wacky to me when recommended by the server, but it wasn't a coating like on pastries, more like a dusting before the frying process so nice and crispy. You must try these. The chicharrones (fried pork belly bites): flavor explosion. So many creative burgers to choose from, but I started simple and went with the house burger topped with smoked gouda and bacon. TASTY burger but I asked for "medium" and got "well done". Quality beers to choose from on their list of 8 but prices are steep; even the more mainstream craft beers on draft are $6.50 and up. Can't wait to go back and Chomp my way through this entire menu. read more

Chomp is well worth the drive to Warren. Don't let the exterior fool you...the food and drinks are incredible, and so long as you come with a small group (preferably two or less) you will be very pleased with this restaurant. Their menu always has fun, seasonal items. I ordered the Pork Belly sandwich when I visited, and it was absolutely incredible. Sadly, it has since been removed from the menu. I was, however, very glad to get a response to my email when I asked whether or not the sandwich would make a reappearance. The fact that they took the time to respond made me like them all the more. This place is my favorite. It always hits the spot and never fails to surprise me with how fresh and flavorful the food tastes! I literally left Boston to come here for my birthday. I have had the Hot and Smoky, Mac n' Cheeseburger, Sloppy Joe burger and of course their fried pickles. Everything is amazing. Sam and Jeremy have created a perfect menu (that they continuously update) and Jeremy is so thoughtful with his homemade EVERYTHING-even the ketchup. Their beer menu is insane and they always have a good rotation on tap. Mixed drinks are no joke. They aren't the traditional fruity-tuity and go well with pretty much everything on the menu. The atmosphere in their is also great. Warm and friendly mixed with ultra-cool and modern. You can sit at the bar and enjoy whatever game is on or have a nice sit-down dinner. Outdoor seating is a plus and the bathroom is gorgeous :) read more
