    121. Black Bean Sauce Chicken = Yum!!

Thank you for being open for takeout during this pandemic! This place is solid for their food! Large portions and full of flavor. The guy at the counter is always nice and they are so quick to making the food! Also when we get home the food is still nice and hot. Our favorite go to dishes are: Black bean chicken Mongolian beef (spicy) General Tso's chicken Hong Kong style crispy noodles with vegetables The Hong Kong style crispy noodles come with the sauce in a separate container so that you can pour it over your noodles at home so that your noodles are not soggy. They also give your order in a box so that it is easier to hold and the sauce is in a tight sealed container so that you don't have to go Larry David on them ;) (Curb Your Enthusiasm with Larry David and the owner at the sushi restaurant lol) In the past if you dine in and order the mushu pork, the waiter will make your first mushu roll! It's fun to watch. Also if you order soup they will serve your first bowl. This keeps with tradition as the service usually received at Chinese restaurants.

    Deluxe Combination Fun

I've been to this restaurant location several times in the past few years but had never reviewed it. The food has always been okay. Looking over the comments of other yelpers, it's interesting to see how the stars are distributed. People seem to either love this restaurant or hate it. I left work early because I wasn't feeling well. Thought I'd pick up some Chinese food for lunch while waiting for my car pool partner. I stopped into China Villa and was greeted immediately by an older male waiter. I told him that I would be placing an order to go and he continued on his way to serve a table. When he was done, he came over to take my order. I ordered Potstickers and Deluxe Chow Fun. On the take-out menu that I was looking at, all of the prices had been blacked out with a marker. The front of menu is printed with the name Spicy House. Handwritten beneath the name is China Villa, which is also the name on the in-house menu and on the signs outside the restaurant. The waiter told me that my total was $19.65. While I was looking at in-house menu, I saw that Potstickers were $6.50 and Deluxe Chow Fun was $9.45. A younger gentlemen came to the counter and I asked about the menu changes. He stated that the printer had made numerous errors on pricing as well as the name of the restaurant. When I asked why I had been charged so much when the two items came to $15.95, he stated that sales tax had to be added in. He then used a calculator and told me the price should have been $18.65. He asked if I had paid yet and I said yes. I told him just give me a dollar bill and we would be square. I made the comment that I hoped it was an honest mistake and not a case of creative pricing. He said that it was an honest mistake. The sales tax rate in Livermore, CA is 9.25%. $15.95 x 9.25% = $1.48. $15.95 + $1.48 = $17.43 or $1.22 less than what I paid. Giving the benefit of the doubt and going with the pricing error being an honest mistake, how do I rationalize the sales tax error? I can't and I won't. I am reporting this incident to the State Board of Equalization. When my order came, I was called to the counter. I asked if there was a napkin & fork and could I get some hot oil. The younger man asked me if I would like vinegar as well. He told me there was soy sauce in the bag which I gave back to him. He offered hot mustard which I accepted. We had a quick conversation where he stated that he couldn't eat Chow Fun without soy sauce. When I got to where I was going to have my lunch, I discovered that I didn't receive either a napkin nor a fork despite the fact that I had asked for them. Fortunately, I had a fork in the car. The Potstickers were decent in size and flavor. The presentation was six postickers placed on end into a standard white Chinese take-out box. Despite one flap being left open to vent the steam, the bottoms were no longer crunchy. The Chow Fun was okay but nothing to write home about. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

    8. Sweet and Sour Chicken Luncheon Special

The lunch menu is extensive. Food was excellent. Service was good. Ambiance was okay but not great. The place is clean but not fancy. The lunch menu is priced at $11.95 (as of 12/14/2023) for each lunch on the menu. Portions are very generous and we are taking half of each plate home.

Crab cream puffs with no Crab.

Ordered fried rice, crab cream puffs, pot stickers and orange chicken. And asked for sweet and sour sauce. I was given 1 sweet and sour sauce for my entire order. Crab cream puffs have no crab to be found and fried rice isn't even fried. Also half cooked pot stickers. See pics attached. Definitely not going back here

    Combination Chow Fun

This is a little neighborhood feel restaurant off East Ave. The inside is definitely dated, but the staff is friendly and the food has been consistently good through the years. I normally order to go from them, but they are open for inside dining now as well. Some of my favorite dishes are Singapore noodles, Salt and Pepper Fish, Chef Special Tofu, combination Chow Fun. There are too many dishes I like to list them all lol. Give them a try if you're craving some Chinese comfort food...one of my go-to's.

    Sichuan Boiled Chicken!

Amazing food! The Chonq Quing Chicken and Double Cooked Chicken Hotpot is out of this world - absolute must try. Authentic spicy Sichuan cuisine!!

The three of us shared the House Special Dinner, which was a fantastic spread. It included fried prawns, egg rolls, barbecued spare ribs, Mandarin orange beef, prawns with snow peas, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The honey walnut prawns were especially memorable, and every dish had great balance and taste. The variety made it perfect for sharing, and we left very satisfied. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall dining experience was excellent. It's not exactly light on the wallet--the price is $32.95 per person as of March 2026--but considering the amount and quality of food you receive, it felt like a very good value. I would absolutely recommend Canton Village to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food in Livermore.

I think the combo i choose was $26/pp. In the combo it comes with two entrees, i got mongolian beef and replaced the kung pao chicken with sweet and sour pork, it also came with the soup of the day, fried rice or chow mien, and fried prawns & pot stickers. Yummy and perfect for 2 people! They also have extra add ons if you have 3 or more. Everything was delicious, i enjoyed all the onions and peppers in the beef and the sweet and sour pork was also notable in this meal. The fried prawns i wish the batter was a bit seasoned but the sauce helps. The service was great, we came a little before closing so we were like 2 out of maybe 10 people in the restaurant. The ambience was bright like traditional canton restaurants as well as booths and regular seating. I revisted this place for a lunch special later down the week and it was still great! Definitely returning, I suggest you stop by and visit :)

It's kind of pricey, especially compared to the original location in Oakland, but the food is authentic Hong Kong/Cantonese style cuisine. This will definitely satisfy your carb/MSG cravings, lol! We got takeout for a weekday lunch. This is our usual order now: Fresh sliced fish porridge, $14.95 - they always do a great job with this. This is the Cantonese equivalent of chicken noodle soup. The texture is just right, there are plenty of fish pieces, and the flavor is classic, right down to the ginger slivers. Shrimp rice noodle roll $9.50 - DH's favorite dim sum item. It is tender, and the shrimp are large and crispy. Comes with the classic soy-based sauce. Crab meat braised E - fu noodle $24.95 - DH's favorite noodle. This type of noodle is very soft and absorbs all of the flavors from the crab pieces and sauce. Great choice for seafood lovers! Shrimp silky egg chow fun $24.95 - little one's favorite. This one just has such a great combination of flavors. The velvety "gravy" really ties everything together and makes it go down smoothly. This one has flat noodles (cheung fun), like the classic beef chow fun. Comfort food for sure! Sautéed Chinese green $22.95 - this looks to be pan seared choy sum. Seems kind of expensive, but they actually pack a lot of greens into the box. They don't have the veggie clay pot anymore, Barbecue pork $15.95 - they do a pretty good job with this one too. The flavors are really good and interestingly enough it comes with these little beans on the bottom. Pork tends to be a little bit on the lean side. Portion size seems okay. We didn't get the beef chow fun because we didn't need that much food. But that one is a classic here and they usually do a great job with it too. Food is usually ready very quickly and everything was steaming hot. Staff are efficient and friendly. Give it a try; this place is consistently good and I highly recommend it!

When I brought it up and even pointed out the worker, the staff claimed they had no idea what I was talking about. At that point, I just let it go but honestly, it didn't get any better from there. Every dish we ordered was bland, lacked flavor, and wasn't consistent at all. To make matters worse, I noticed something concerning near the cashier. They were refilling the water jug using what looked like a used plastic container that didn't appear clean or sanitary, which was really off-putting. Overall, this experience was disappointing from start to finish, both in terms of service and food quality.
