Food comes out very quickly and tastes great. I've now gotten the Beef Pad See Ew, Shrimp Pad Thai, and Gra Prow Kai Dow, which were all delicious. The food is delicious! The yellow and green curry are excellent, as are the drunken noodles, Pad Thai and papaya salad. The papaya salad is very spicy so beware! After I ordered the Tom Kha Gai soup, I forgot that years ago I didn't like it at this location because it tasted heavy on chicken broth. However it seems they have improved the broth on the soup and I enjoyed it this time around. Years ago we did eat inside, and service was good, but the inside ambiance felt more like a coffee shop instead of a restaurant. Our order was takeout, which I did place the order over the phone. I love that the food is quality fresh and really good! I love that the rice in my yellow chicken curry came in a tower so it doesn't get saturated by the sauce until I want it to be. Came here for a quick caffeine break and snacks before school pick up. The Thai tea was nicely chilled, bold and super flavorful. Not too sweet and definitely NOT watered down like you may find in other places. The curry puffs were so tasty and flavorful. Time was close to 3p I ordered to go of the coconut soup and dumplings, I asked for water while we wait but she said they sell bottle. I said no and didn't add a tip. The lady that took our order, took a pitcher of water and poured water for the 2 guests that were already seated. They have a lot of signs that say if they want to refuse service they can. In my opinion, one of the best Thai places in Livermore. Read on for more details. I have ordered shrimp pad Thai and it was really yummy. First of all, the quantity is huge. The noodles itself drenched with Thai sauce and taste good by itself. I got around 4 large shrimps, well cooked and flavorful. Additionally, there were egg bits, tofu and green onions. There were crushed peanuts on the side like a traditional pad Thai. Overall, a very tasty dish. The place is very crowded and the service was fast. I have been going here for about 3 years and the food is always consistently good, however the service leaves much to be desired. They use to automatically charge an 18% "service charge" which they dropped about a year ago. The lady who is always at the front taking orders (who I assume is the owner) would always make it point to say "we don't charge the tip anymore" and made sure I saw the buttons to add an additional tip if I wanted. Today she told me the same thing, I selected no tip, tapped my card to pay and it said "transaction canceled" on the screen. She then pulled up the order again and told me you can select the tip here. Once again, I put no tip and the transaction was canceled and she said the same thing. 3rd time it finally processed and she said I could leave a tip on the table. Incredibly pushy and annoying. This is a great way to lose customers, I certainly will not be returning after this experience. The idea of expecting a tip from someone that walks in and has to order at a counter without being served or even seeing their food first is crazy to me. read more

Best Thai food I have had in the Bay Area by far. I have had many thai places and this one is by far my most favorite!!! I am always a big fan on their chicken drunken noodles and Panang Beef Curry with rice. They have so much flavor in them!!! However this time I only got the chicken drunken noodles and the total came out to 16 bucks with tax (togo). I did come around 3pm to pick up the food and it took about 15 mins after I called to be ready. They did have a sign that said togo only untill 4pm. I think after lunch time, they are only open for togo orders and open up for a bit after for dinner time. I also wish they were open on the weekends and open later than 7pm. I would definetley come for dinner time on the weekends. I will say this place is pretty small and is not a super huge resturant. They do have outdoor seating if preffered. The place is located in a small plaza next to a gas station and is close to the freeway exit. Overall, I highly recommend this place. My husband and I usually love Tin Thai. It's located near his office so we would sneak in quick dates during the lunch hour, but now the quality is not the best from what we've experienced the past couple times we've visited. I went in with a very positive outlook for today's dinner and the service was alright at best. We were seated outside but sometimes the waitress would forget about us. We knew right away what we wanted to eat but she never came back to take our order. My husband had to go inside to place our order, which wasn't too big of a deal itself. Our waitress brought out our Thai iced teas first and didn't bring straws (which was difficult because they were in to go plastic cups w/ lids and can't mix well without it). I had to go inside and ask for straws myself. I ordered a chicken pad Thai as usual and it was nothing special honestly. I didn't like the thin noodles that were used and the meal lacked flavor. Also there were no carrots, lime, and barely any peanuts or bean sprouts given. My husband ordered basil fried rice and he said it was spicy but alright. He couldn't taste much flavor besides the spice. When we needed the check, again we had to go inside and pay and ask for a to go box for our food. We were so surprised to see that a "service fee" of 18% was already added to our bill! We love leaving tips for great service, but they need to be more transparent about that. 18% tip and we barely received any service during our visit. Handing us our food and drinks is not service. This is all about the signature dishes and this place has two amazing dishes; Chicken Drunken Noodles and Gra Prow Kai Dow. Both are spicy, very flavorful with a nice blend of protein, veggie and carbs. Depending if I'm wanting noodles or rice, I'll pick between the two. The owner, I'm assuming because she's always there is very accommodating with special requests and the food is cooked fresh and quickly. With Social Distancing the dinning area is closed but is nicely decorated with wooden tables. At the condiment area are displayed canned curries which are cute but because of them, I don't order their "Curry in a Hurry" options. Why dine out for something I can throw together at home?! I did take a pic of the canned curries and ordered a small variety pack from Amazon! It's Chicken Drunken Noodles but the owner allows me to modify the dish and change the protein to beef and add Chinese broccoli in addition to the basil, bok choy and roasted tomatoes that come in the dish . This is cooked in a sweet, spicy oil sauce I find addicting. The noodles are large flat rice noodles that appear to be hand cut. With add ons the dish comes to $15 The Gra Prow Kai Dow is chopped chicken, string beans, basil and lots of chili served over rice and topped with a crispy fried egg. Warning this dish is very spicy! I do like their curry puffs which is ground chicken and potatoes and baked in puff pastry, but for $6 for two that are the size of a potstickers, it's too expensive. Likewise, you get 3 small lumpia sized Veggie Spring Rolls for $7. If the servings were 3 Curry Puffs and 5 veggie rolls, they would probably sell more of these appetizers. read more

Tin Thai is a hidden gem in Livermore that never disappoints! I used to work in that area and it was always packed at lunch time. I went recently for dinner and there were still plenty of people considering it's not downtown or out in the open. Their panang curry is so flavorful. The curry puffs are dynamic. Their pad see ew is rich and comforting. The restaurant itself is decorated nicely and there is plenty of seating; they made great use of a small space. Pad Thai is not their strongest suit, but the Chicken Drunken Noodle (Pad Kee Mao) - spicy stir-fried wide rice noodle with bok choi, basil, chili, and tomato - and Beef Pad See Ew - sweet stir-fried wide rice noodle with Chinese broccoli and egg - have always been on point. Flavors are well balanced and portions are just about right. Another favorite rice dish of ours is the Gra Prow Kai Dow. It carries enough heat and the egg is fried Thai-style, making it crispy around the edges but still keeping a runny yolk. They used to offer table service but have moved to a counter-service model the past couple of years or so.
