Chow mein (top) and orange chicken (bottom).
    Leonardo N.

The food here was great. We ordered the sweet and sour pork, beef and pork fried rice, chow mein, and orange chicken. They give you complimentary tea before ordering, which is quality. The service is polite, accurate, and extremely fast. I cannot stress how fast they are at giving your order. The ambiance is an elegant Chinese restaurant that has multiple style tables and booths for whatever amount of party of guests. I highly recommend coming here, especially if you're in a hurry or want to admire the aesthetics of the restaurant.

We loved China village in Dublin and were incredibly excited to find out that they had a sister location in Livermore. Sadly, it's just not the same. We got our usual hong kong style combo chow mein but it lacked enough seafood and the flavor. The Peking style pork was just ok. Not sure if they have different cooks, but don't come expecting things to be the same.

    Garlic Chicken lunch special

I ate at this place twice, once as a lunch special, and once for a la carte. I used their online service for ordering food and when I was either on my lunch break or heading home, my food was ready when I got there. I ordered about 10 minutes prior to leaving, so it worked out perfectly. The staff had masks on. But I rarely interacted since I just picked up my food and left. For the lunch entree, it was alright at best. The fried rice they offered was very bare and just had egg and rice. The fried wonton didn't come with sweet and sour sauce, so I was a little sad. The garlic chicken was just ok. It didn't have much flavor behind it. Would I order it again, probably not. The BBQ pork fried rice was pretty good. It is what fried rice should be. I have no issues with this dish. The Mongolian Chicken was also pretty good. It wasn't too spicy, but had enough. I love onions, so I had no issue with there being a surplus of it. Presentation wise, I don't want to see a bed of the fried noodle strings when I open the box. But at least I enjoyed it once I actually got to the food. Overall, an alright place. I can see that they are hurting due to Covid, so I'm happy to send business my way if I can.

Honey walnut prawns, no walnuts, add broccoli

This is one of our go to places for lunch at work. Restaurant is conveniently located off of 580 on Vasco and is within a couple miles of work. Place looks like it's been there forever and is part of the community with plenty of regulars. You have the male serving room staff in uniform with booths and round tables with lazy Susan's. Service is quick, efficient and orders are always correct which is a BIG plus! Food is predictably good, not amazingly great and never bad. You get plenty too, if I'm really hungry I can finish my lunch but usually I have enough for leftovers. Since I've only been here for lunch, this review is based only on lunch platters. We usually get a special order of honey walnut prawns, substitute walnuts for cashews and add broccoli with brown rice. Lunch includes soup, salad and a fried wonton. The batter is the right amount, crunchy and not doughy. Price is good too, most lunches are about $12.

Disgusting PARASITES LARVA in China Pavilion's kitchen!!!! Sick to our stomachs!!!

Always good, quick and friendly. They almost closed this location because of a lease dispute, glad it was resolved and are still here.

The three of us shared the House Special Dinner, which was a fantastic spread. It included fried prawns, egg rolls, barbecued spare ribs, Mandarin orange beef, prawns with snow peas, honey walnut prawns, and house fried rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The honey walnut prawns were especially memorable, and every dish had great balance and taste. The variety made it perfect for sharing, and we left very satisfied. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the overall dining experience was excellent. It's not exactly light on the wallet--the price is $32.95 per person as of March 2026--but considering the amount and quality of food you receive, it felt like a very good value. I would absolutely recommend Canton Village to anyone looking for delicious Chinese food in Livermore.

I think the combo i choose was $26/pp. In the combo it comes with two entrees, i got mongolian beef and replaced the kung pao chicken with sweet and sour pork, it also came with the soup of the day, fried rice or chow mien, and fried prawns & pot stickers. Yummy and perfect for 2 people! They also have extra add ons if you have 3 or more. Everything was delicious, i enjoyed all the onions and peppers in the beef and the sweet and sour pork was also notable in this meal. The fried prawns i wish the batter was a bit seasoned but the sauce helps. The service was great, we came a little before closing so we were like 2 out of maybe 10 people in the restaurant. The ambience was bright like traditional canton restaurants as well as booths and regular seating. I revisted this place for a lunch special later down the week and it was still great! Definitely returning, I suggest you stop by and visit :)

It's kind of pricey, especially compared to the original location in Oakland, but the food is authentic Hong Kong/Cantonese style cuisine. This will definitely satisfy your carb/MSG cravings, lol! We got takeout for a weekday lunch. This is our usual order now: Fresh sliced fish porridge, $14.95 - they always do a great job with this. This is the Cantonese equivalent of chicken noodle soup. The texture is just right, there are plenty of fish pieces, and the flavor is classic, right down to the ginger slivers. Shrimp rice noodle roll $9.50 - DH's favorite dim sum item. It is tender, and the shrimp are large and crispy. Comes with the classic soy-based sauce. Crab meat braised E - fu noodle $24.95 - DH's favorite noodle. This type of noodle is very soft and absorbs all of the flavors from the crab pieces and sauce. Great choice for seafood lovers! Shrimp silky egg chow fun $24.95 - little one's favorite. This one just has such a great combination of flavors. The velvety "gravy" really ties everything together and makes it go down smoothly. This one has flat noodles (cheung fun), like the classic beef chow fun. Comfort food for sure! Sautéed Chinese green $22.95 - this looks to be pan seared choy sum. Seems kind of expensive, but they actually pack a lot of greens into the box. They don't have the veggie clay pot anymore, Barbecue pork $15.95 - they do a pretty good job with this one too. The flavors are really good and interestingly enough it comes with these little beans on the bottom. Pork tends to be a little bit on the lean side. Portion size seems okay. We didn't get the beef chow fun because we didn't need that much food. But that one is a classic here and they usually do a great job with it too. Food is usually ready very quickly and everything was steaming hot. Staff are efficient and friendly. Give it a try; this place is consistently good and I highly recommend it!

We love that they have Szechuan cuisine as well as American Chinese, and it's not too salty, too oily, or too bland. The spicy dishes we've been getting our excellent. The man who answers the phone is always really nice and helpful when I call in an order, and has helpful advice and suggestions, like when I accidentally order all spicy dishes (and I'm feeding kids always) or if I just ask (do you have something with this and this?). I love how friendly and helpful they are here! They have a dedicated easy to access parking lot which I love over downtown places, and the interior looks nice and comfy although I've only ever done takeout. Everything is always hot and fresh, we've never had anything taste stale or old like Peking did in the end on Las Positas. The wonton soup also was delicious on last visit! Plenty of flavor but not too much oil, and my kids loved the broth. I was excited to learn you can swap in almost any entrees you want for the family meal, making it a good deal! I especially love the whiteboard menu of specials at the door. This is how our old favorite restaurant back home always did it, and I'm now taking it to mean the mark of a good restaurant. Try something off that menu, it's got the best dishes!

Every dish we ordered was bland, lacked flavor, and wasn't consistent at all. To make matters worse, I noticed something concerning near the cashier.
