Went here for happy hour before we went to a movie. We were in a rush so we weren't expecting much. We ordered a bacon ranch quesadilla, but one of the food runners brought out chicken nachos to us. Our bartender caught it right as it got to us and grabbed our correct order. We immediately had to ask for a box and our check because of the rush we were in which is 100% on us. We gave the bartender our card before he brought out the check and that was clearly a big mistake. We got our receipt which isn't itemized and was way higher than we expected. We flagged someone down and before she could even check our bill, our bartender suddenly reappeared and was like "oh I messed up your bill let me fix it". He brought back a new receipt and at this point we're past the start time of our movie so we just grab the receipt and leave. After checking our bill, I see that he had originally left the chicken nachos that he knew we didn't order on our bill which only got taken off because I questioned the high amount of our receipt. Then I also see that even though we ordered the presidente margaritas, he charged us for patron margaritas which are more expensive. That part wasn't fixed on our new bill so we called and spoke to a manager who said that it would be fixed. Our card charge has updated to the amount without the nachos but still with the patron margaritas. I don't know if that will be updated again, but this has been such a hassle. When you go somewhere specifically for happy hour, it's really irritating to get over charged on multiple items on your bill. I also understand if you accidentally put a food item under the wrong customer number but he also rang us up for more expensive drinks right after he made them for us. They weren't busy at all and it was such a short time from when we ordered our food/drinks to when we asked for our bill. Specifically that there was less than a couple of minutes between the time he corrected the food order brought to our table to when he ran our card knowing we didn't order the chicken nachos. Hit or miss here. We have sat in the bar and at the regular side & it's really questionable as to what kind of service you will get. It's never extremely poor, it's just never exceptional either. I'll be honest the main reason we go is for their chips and salsa! They are endless and so good. We went to eat here this week, it was not a good experience at all. I ordered my steak rare, and it was cooked rare, but it was obviously freezer burnt and had no juice or flavour, it was also very chewy. Not what I would ever want in a steak. Service was also very slow, we sat for about 20 minutes after we finished before someone came for our empty plates, no offer of another drink or dessert nor did they bring the bill, I had to get up and ask for it. The place also had a fly problem. Went into Montclair location with a party of 10 on a Friday night and was seated within 5 min , the drinks and food order was immediately taken and food came out perfect and fast . Terrible service and very unhappy employees. I went in with my family waited over 15min after being seated not one single person came over to our table to even offer us drinks. I asked an employee and she gave me a look and kept walking away. After that experience I decided to get up and leave. I work in customer service and would never treat a customer that way without acknowledging them. Specially during these times, you should be grateful people are still willing to support businesses. After getting up and most of the staff seeing our reaction of us getting up and leaving not one came o we to apologize. If your a leader in this building you definitely need to reassess your staff and team. Clearly the guest is not your number 1 priority. In addition the "hostess" has no sense of urgency in doing anything. You might want to relook at who is the first face representing your building. I stopped in with my wife and son to have lunch before grabbing a movie and walked in to service that was not the standard I usually encounter at a Chili's. The hostess seemed in a bad mood and didn't even look up to acknowledge us. A young man came over and started off by calling me man and talking to me like we were drinking buddies. The place was a mess with a lot of tables not cleared but the place wasn't that busy. The waiter told me it would be a 15-20 minute wait and his tone sounded as if it was an annoyance for us to be there. All the while the hostess seemed pissed off with some issue at the register. It felt like I walked in on the middle of a domestic argument of sorts. After surveying the scene and noticing there were employees lulling about, no sense of urgency and certainly no sense of respect I elected to take my business elsewhere today. I get that young people today are fare less formal and maybe at 46 I'm a little old fashioned but if I am going to spend my hard earned money, and even more important, as a busy executive if I'm going to spend my precious time off at a restaurant I don't expect to be talked to like we are friends on Facebook. I will never choose this location again. If I were the management at that location I would take a hard look at how they were run. I was a manager at a food restaurant in my teens and know enough to know this is not what the franchise or corporation expects of their employees. It actually fit the size of a salsa cup if that, there was hardly any queso and more shredded cheese and cilantro than anything else on top of that they put a scoop of guac which should have been on the side so this could at least be heated up. As a restaurant u add the guac AFTER it comes out the oven and cheese is melted not before. Im tired of spending so much money for simple items and literally being given half of what i am paying for. Came here with a buddy for a snack just hours before closing on a Friday night. It was surely empty so we expected service to be pretty quick. Although, we did have to wait quite awhile for someone to service us (two hungry people waiting more than 5 min for service, given the empty conditions = not good). Anyway, the waitresses were really cool about it and apologized for the inconvenience. They seemed really genuine and nice about it too which was a plus. I was debating on the Philly Cheese steak sandwich and the Chocolate Paradise Pie.. But after reading the description of the paradise pie. it quickly won me over with no regrets. My friend opted for the shrimp alfredo pasta and the fried onion straws with jalapenos. Our food came out in a decent amount of time and looked very fresh and appetizing. My eyes were quickly drawn to the dessert I ordered. I took my first bight and it was a spot hit from there on (although, a little more chocolate and caramel sauce would've been much appreciated). I was disappointed in the pasta dish my friend ordered because it was seriously skimped. The fried onion straws looked ok.. At the end of our meal, we were both left satisfied and very full. Upon coming into this restaurant there was no wait time. I was really happy about that. This restaurant by far has an amazing waiter by the name Michael! VERY FRIENDLY and very sweet. I'm picky about my food and usually waiters at other restaurants give me an attitude. But Michael on the other hand was very nice about me ordering the Cajun chicken pasta .. no spicy on my food extra Alfredo sauce. He took my order with a smile. Waiting for our food, my husband and I wanted to change his order of loaded mashed potatoes to regular fries. I saw I think the busboy (mark) and ask if he can change my order. Now instead of him Just getting our waiter and having him do it. He goes ahead and let's our waiter know for me. He was very nice!! Extra points towards my great night! Our food took only 15 minutes. It's been a while since i've been to Chili's, but I remember REALLY loving them. I was excited when the Red Lobster wait time was 50 hours so the boyfriend caved and agreed to Chilis.....WOOOT! Seated in under 10 minutes on a busy Friday night, waitress at our table ready for drink orders 5 minutes later, took our order quickly and efficiently, food brought out on time for each course (we did the 2-for-$20), attentive service, good food, would go again. That was a mouthful. Ok, the details. First, our server, Bryanna, was amazing. Seriously, this girl rocks. I raved about her so much I think the boyfriend thought I was crushin' on her *blush* But really, she was super friendly and genuine the whole time and one of the most attentive servers i've had in a while. When I asked for a Quesadilla Explosion salad with no chicken, she offered to give me avocado slices instead. Why, yes, I LOVE avocado thanx! Then, I started to tell her that I had a check-in offer from Foursquare, and before I could even finish, she smiled and said "free chips and salsa?" AMAZING! She already knew! She's like a superhero! The rest of the night, she was super stealth...coming and going undetected, leaving full glasses of mango iced tea and extra napkins in her wake. It was awesome. The food was also pretty good - although I kinda remember it being better a couple years ago. Boyfriend kept comparing his ribs to Famous Daves (not a good idea), so of course he was a tad bit disappointed. But he said they were decent and he loved the Texas Cheese Fries that we had for our appetizer. My Quesadilla Explosion salad was.....(wait for it)......bomb (ha!) - delicious dressing and crisp lettuce was nice. AND I got a full avocado sliced on top! So good. My only complaints: Our menus and table were sticky. That's pretty gross. And, mango iced tea really needs more ice in it. 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 drinks = $27. Not a bad deal. We skipped dessert, but know from past experiences that their Chocolate Molten Lava cake and the Chocolate Chip Cookie Paradise Pie thing will change your life. Okay so I'm eating with the boy and we immediately knew we wanted the 3 course meal for $20. Duh, why wouldn't you? Haha save money ftw! For appetizers, for us it was either the bottomless tostada chips and salsa or the Half order of Texas cheese fries. Other options were the kickin Jack nachos and skillet queso but the Texas cheese fries sounded good and similar to BJ potatoe skins. When it came out, it wasn't hot it was warm. Wtffff ): The cheese was melted but bc it was warm it WASNT attached to the fries like I would have likes. It was okay tasting but is better with the ranch, forsure. I then got the only pasta option available for entered and it was the Cajun chicken pasta! It was also warm, sadness. I don't know bout you but I like my food hot and sizzling! Ssssssssssssizzle! It's been over 5 years since I was at any Chili's. I was in the neighborhood, saw their online happy hour, $3 small domestic drafts and $4 large domestic drafts. I asked the "bartender" Jax, if it was happy hour and she replied yes. So I initially ordered a Bud light, but quickly reversed my order to a Michelob ultra, since it's "healthy"and on draft(domestic) Ordered two, the bill came, $10.90 with tax. I was confused, asked the bartender the obvious question and she quickly replied that only Bud Light and Coors light were domestic happy hour, not the Ultra. I would have appreciated her letting me know this. It's not about the monies, it's about the lack of communication when I changed my order. She should of let me know that the ultra was not on the happy hour menu. The beers were cold though, that's why I'm giving it a 2 star review.
