We've been to Norms twice for breakfast and had great food and service both times, so this experience was really disappointing. Our host, Juliet, seated us right away, but after that, the service went downhill. We sat without water or anyone checking on us for a while until our waiter finally came to take our order and bring waters. My husband ordered a patty melt with fries, and I ordered the Fuel Up Chicken Alfredo deal. After that, I think our waiter left because we never saw him again. After waiting another 10 minutes, my salad arrived drenched in ranch dressing. We were hungry, so I ate it. Juliet later checked in and asked if we needed anything, and we let her know we were just waiting for our food. We waited another 15 minutes before finally deciding to leave because our entrees still hadn't even been started. To make matters worse, we were still charged $4 for the salad. It was frustrating to pay for such a disappointing experience, especially when our actual meals never came. We've enjoyed our previous breakfast visits, but this experience really changed our impression of this spot. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but this was too egregious of a rip-off to ignore. I paid $22 for full rack ribs. What I got was shocking: the smallest, most scrawny "full rack" of ribs I've ever seen. At one end, there's 4 bones protruding, meaning there's no meat on them at all! I tried one, and barely got a tiny bite of meat, before it was gone. Even worse, I asked the manager, and she admitted: "this is normal, our ribs are small." She said the kitchen could remake it, but it would be the same result: ribs won't get any bigger or have more meat. So I had no choice but to take it home. The full rack wasn't even one meal for me - a woman! Most of the bones only had 1-2 bites of meat on them. They were also so charred that all I was tasting was ASH. This was supposed to be Memphis dry rub :( I'm really sad to see how badly Norm's has fallen. When I'd first discovered it last year, they had this wonderful trout that was huge, delicious AND affordable! Now the trout is gone, their gumbo has become jello (soup is full of starch-y filler), and this $22 "ribs" is the worst rip-off I've been victim to from a restaurant for many years. Lesson learned - don't order meats here. Stick to breakfast food. read more

I order the porterhouse steak medium rare, got medium WELL. Green beans were tough to chew. I didn't eat 80% of those. Norms has steadily gotten worse over the years. I only stopped to eat because I needed to take some medication with a full meal. McDonald's across the street would've been better tasting!! I stopped by for some red chilaquiles with steak and black beans. I also ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. I didn't eat breakfast so I was HUNGRY. Service was exceptionally quick and our waitress Estefania was very helpful. Our drinks were refilled consistently, my hazelnut cold brew was the perfect drink for a late brunch. The menu is always evolving! Yes, they have the diner classics and consistent items. However, Norms is never scared to try new limited time options. Currently, they have Korean options, including Korean-fusion breakfast items. If you're Mexican or Korean, you will not go hungry here. Love the diverse menu, they even have boba at all Norms locations! No bad notes, even our host was super friendly! 10/9/26 Apparently Friday night @6pm when it's empty is not the time to go. After flagging someone down to order waters and our food, all we received was our side salad. A clump of lettuce smothered in ranch. No cheese, no carrots, no croutons. Unfortunately our appetizer and meals were never even fired, and we waited 30 minutes just sitting there. She is the definition of what a great server should be: attentive, caring, compassionate, always on time, and dedicated to bringing out fresh, hot pancakes. She's also incredibly funny! I love that the booths in the center of the dining room had colored themed glass running in between so that it gives you a little privacy. Came in Saturday after my bike race and was soooo hungry ! Paul was our server and he was amazing .! We were greeted by Juliet and she advised us of the approximate wait time . We were then seated and everything just kept coming so fast . We got our delicious brewed coffee and the Paul took our order . All the side conversations were perfect and respectful. I had some questions about the deals on the Norms app and he was so quick to help and assist. We ordered the steak and eggs and everything was amazing . From the deliciously crunchy hash browns to the buttermilk fluffy warm pancakes everything was a hit . The kiddos ordered milk and juice and everything came to the table so quickly. I went to the restroom and it was very well kept and clean. No spills on the floor or overcrowded trash cans, everything was very clean for the big morning rush they had. Parking was ample and easy to get in and out of. It's so conveniently located right off the freeway . Will keep coming back for sure read more

I have been here couple of times and couple of times, same crap, served cold food and they offered no apology even after I told the waitress that food was up there for 5 mins or more getting cold...She just said she was busy and no apology at all or make it right offer... I tried this time and same crap....serve cold food...I decided this time was the last...I mainly go here for breakfast only....long before I used to go here and it was way better, service and food was better....these days it sucks. it seems like some old timer waitress tries to hog all the tables areas so she wants lots of tip tables...And she could care less if food served was cold... I left her nothing....and I have complained before about food being cold but they didn't care much.... There was a short 15 minutes wait. There were a few of us waiting for seats. They were full. Our waitress was hustling. She managed to run around and wait on all her tables. I sense they are short staffed. Our waitress was great, but I can tell she's overworked. Plus we had some communication issues. She was not understanding what we were saying . My family loves Norms, I don't get it. The food is basic and the prices are moderate. I ordered the Cali-cado Benedict. The eggs were cooked just right, not overdone. The Benedict sauce was OK. recently visited with my husband and two business colleagues for breakfast. Our server, Alejandro, provided excellent service. However, while he was away retrieving our drinks, the manager or supervisor (Angel) publicly demeaned and spoke down to him in front of our table and nearby guests. This behavior was highly unprofessional and created an uncomfortable atmosphere. My colleagues felt so uneasy that they left the restaurant unexpectedly. As the host, I was embarrassed by the incident, particularly in a business setting. Alejandro handled the situation with professionalism and apologized to us. The apology should have come from management. Angel needs to understand that effective leadership--especially when training or supervising staff--requires professionalism, respect, and kindness, not public criticism. I am shocked that this occurred and expect better from management. DO BETTER! Have this employee take accountability for his behavior and provide a less toxic environment for their employees. No wonder they look unhappy with management- but with customers EXCELLENT SERVICE. Take action- before this location goes downhill. TRUST. read more

A last minute choice of waffles for dinner. This is normal, right? We thought to try this Norms since we were in this neighborhood not too long ago. Restaurant vibe is modern retro and great design details. Welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. It wasn't terribly busy. Ordered a Belgian waffle and added the blueberry compote with whipped cream. Love the light crunch of the waffle, but I think the compote makes the waffle soggy. I immediately scraped off the berries compote to the side and ate it separately. Whipped cream was not enough to cover the waffle. But it tastes good just not enough whipped cream.
