Jasmine S.

Disappointing Food Quality, Especially for the Price I visited NORMS Restaurant around 3:00 a.m., hoping to enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing, especially considering the price. I initially wanted a French toast breakfast combination I had seen advertised online, which included French toast, eggs, and a choice of bacon or sausage. However, I was told that option wasn't available in the restaurant. Instead, I ordered everything à la carte: one piece of French toast ($4.49), hash browns ($3.99), bacon ($2.00), and two eggs ($5.99). My total came to $18.06 after tax, before even including a tip. For that price, I expected food that was freshly prepared and cooked according to my requests. Unfortunately, that wasn't what I received. I could see the cook preparing my order, and the eggs appeared to be the only item made fresh. Even those weren't prepared correctly. I specifically requested over-medium eggs, but both yolks were completely runny, more consistent with over-easy. The French toast was pulled from an already-prepared batch rather than being made fresh. One half was noticeably softer than the other, and neither tasted particularly fresh. The bacon was also disappointing. Despite requesting it crispy, it was chewy and appeared to have been sitting for some time. The hash browns were probably the most tolerable part of the meal, but even those were inconsistent. I watched them come out of a small plastic bag before being placed on the griddle, and some portions were still slightly cold when served. I received my food around 3:27 a.m., and by approximately 3:30 a.m., I was finished--not because I enjoyed the meal, but because I simply didn't want to eat most of it. I primarily ate the hash browns and a portion of the eggs, took one bite of the French toast, and left the rest. I understand that it's 3:00 in the morning, but if a restaurant is open 24 hours and charging regular menu prices, customers should still be able to expect properly prepared, fresh, hot food. Spending over $20 with a tip for a breakfast that was largely unappetizing and incorrectly prepared is simply not worth it. Overall, extremely disappointing. The quality of the food did not justify the price, and I left feeling like I had paid for a meal that wasn't worth eating.

Full rack of scrawny ribs with barely any meat :(

I normally don't write reviews, but this was too egregious of a rip-off to ignore. I paid $22 for full rack ribs. What I got was shocking: the smallest, most scrawny "full rack" of ribs I've ever seen. At one end, there's 4 bones protruding, meaning there's no meat on them at all! I tried one, and barely got a tiny bite of meat, before it was gone. Even worse, I asked the manager, and she admitted: "this is normal, our ribs are small." She said the kitchen could remake it, but it would be the same result: ribs won't get any bigger or have more meat. So I had no choice but to take it home. The full rack wasn't even one meal for me - a woman! Most of the bones only had 1-2 bites of meat on them. They were also so charred that all I was tasting was ASH. This was supposed to be Memphis dry rub :( I'm really sad to see how badly Norm's has fallen. When I'd first discovered it last year, they had this wonderful trout that was huge, delicious AND affordable! Now the trout is gone, their gumbo has become jello (soup is full of starch-y filler), and this $22 "ribs" is the worst rip-off I've been victim to from a restaurant for many years. Lesson learned - don't order meats here. Stick to breakfast food.

I always recommend Norms. Much food for lower prices! They have many locations and are open always. Me and wifey hit Norms for breakfast usually and they have decent ice tea and coffee. You can't beat it. Stop by.

A BELOVED TRADITION! Every time I'm passing by the Claremont Norms it's an automatic pitstop. The 24/7 favorite always has good vibes, day or night. I stopped by for some red chilaquiles with steak and black beans. I also ordered a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. I didn't eat breakfast so I was HUNGRY. Service was exceptionally quick and our waitress Estefania was very helpful. Our drinks were refilled consistently, my hazelnut cold brew was the perfect drink for a late brunch. The menu is always evolving! Yes, they have the diner classics and consistent items. However, Norms is never scared to try new limited time options. Currently, they have Korean options, including Korean-fusion breakfast items. If you're Mexican or Korean, you will not go hungry here. Love the diverse menu, they even have boba at all Norms locations! No bad notes, even our host was super friendly! I'd highly recommend stopping by, the portions are bigger than what you'd get at Denny's.

My wife

I was never a big fan of Norms--until I visited the Indian Hill location. I'm not going to lie: my wife and I fell in love with a waitress named Alin. She is the definition of what a great server should be: attentive, caring, compassionate, always on time, and dedicated to bringing out fresh, hot pancakes. She's also incredibly funny! Alin makes my entire family feel like we're the only guests in the restaurant. Even if you have to wait an hour, ask for Alin--she'll take great care of you and your family. Her milkshakes bring families to the restaurant!

Fatima was amazing. Right from the start, her welcoming personality was on point and set a great tone at Norms. We will definitely return to try a few more dishes. Keep up the good work!. Loved the half rack baby ribs trio.

Really great selection for breakfast. So many choices its difficult to choose. I went with the Big Breakfast and it was just like at home when i was a kid! Fluffy pancakes, tasty sausage and bacon with fresh fruit. Service was amazingly fast and my friendly server brought me warm milk with my coffee to make a Cafe con Leche! Very clean seating and this is a popular location based on people inside.

Great value for delicious food and top notch service, every time. We come here once a month to catch up as a family and we always have a blast. Paul, Keren and Carlos are stellar whenever they wait on us. They spoil us and make us feel at home each time.
