The only reason this isn't a one star rating is because our waiter tried very hard to provide us great service. This was the dirtiest restaurant I have been to in a very long time. It was 10:30pm on a Friday night. The place was dead, maybe 6 tables occupied inside. Every open table was covered in dishes except the one where we were seated. Almost the entire bar was covered in dirty glasses. The floors had visible food and napkin litter on them. We had to wipe the table with wet-naps to get it clean. Our waiter was great. He apologized for the mess, said they were doing the best they could and handled himself professionally. Our order was correct, the waiter was attentive to refills, and our food was hot. The meal was typical Chili's, not awesome but ok for the choices we had there in Marble Falls. I would give 0 stars if I could. Usually chili's is pretty consistent no matter what city you're in but not this one. The sign on the door that they had reduced hours due to staffing issues should've been my first red flag. Ordered a burger and what I got was raw bloody hamburger meat slopped on a bun. This picture doesn't do it justice. The other side of the burger was even worse, falling apart pink hamburger meat dripping blood. I can't believe she even served this. I have been eating at Chili's all over the country. My kids and I eat at the Cedar Park location at least once a week. The Marble Falls location needs new management. First, upon entry we waited to be seated and were met by a waitress with her hands full of dirty dishes. Another waitress ended up seating us. The waitress struggled taking our simple lunch order and somehow managed to mess up our drink orders. We ordered Mango iced teas, like we do every time we go to Chili's and these were horrible. My son's was really just sweet tea, so I drank it. They are out of ketchup and blue cheese dressing. We ordered without onions, and finally arrived with onions. I had to send my son's salad back because the lettuce was so brown. Our chips were never refilled, we are still waiting now more than an hour for our food to arrive. Another table, who arrived much later than us, just received their food. We ordered a burger, soup and an appetizer. Waitresses are not in uniform and have messy hair. I venture out to Marble Falls every couple of months to see my best friend. Once a sleepy retirement community, MF is a bustling Hill Country mecca with an improving dining scene as they continue to evolve. I saw a few new places I'd like to visit in my jaunt thru downtown on my way to an antique store I've frequented in the past. So, why oh why did we go to Chili's? The answer is a gift card my BFF Kim got as a Christmas gift. Free meal, right? I'll give the Chili's a 5 star nod on the view; but from there the stars start disappearing rather quickly. I ordered the new lunch bottomless chips and salsa, salad, and soup combo. I've never been a fan of the salsa at any Chili's. A former employee told me they take bottled PACE (or another national brand) and mix in extra ingredients to create their vinegar based rojo. The chips were quite nice with the right amount of salt. My Caesar salad I think was the highlight of the meal. The romaine was fresh and tossed in just the right amount of dressing. Good marks followed with the Enchilada Soup with tortilla strips and pico. I should have stuck to the good stuff because the Baked Potato "Loaded" soup was out of date. It had the distinct flavor of curdled cream or milk. Kim enjoyed her Classic Nachos and the kids shared a cheese pizza with fries. The pizza was fit for a kid and the fries were almost cold when the arrived at the table. I have always liked the look of Chili's nachos as they are individual bites rather than what I call "The Pile" served at most restaurants. So, at this point I'm leaning towards two-three stars....Until I factor in the service. Our server needed a refresher in the finer points of EVERYTHING. We had to ask for drink refills continuously thru our hourish sitting. He never offered to clear plates and we ended up just piling stuff on top of the barrier between the next set of booths. He never offered to replenish any of my "Bottomless" options until I asked. Dude, find some job that challenges your mind instead of walking around like a zombie in a Chili's Rooster's Ruling : Go for drinks on the patio and enjoy the view. We took my nieces here and were sat right away. We were there for 20 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. At least 10 employees and 2 managers walked right passed us, seeing we had no drinks or silverware and never once stopped. We left and on my way out, I asked for a manager. While I was standing there waiting, the waiter who's name is John, went to the table we sat at and collected the menus (but couldn't acknowledge us for the 20 minutes we sat there. On our way home from a basketball game in Lago Vista, we stopped here for dinner. My son and his grammy got chicken strips. My honey and I shared the trio of fajitas. Food wise, I would say 3 stars. The guac was brown and the chips were salty. The fajitas were okay. Both my son and Grammy liked their chicken strips. Why 5 stars? Because our waiter was amazing. Absolute Bottom rung service. Management and Staff just doesn't seem to care to be at work, completely oblivious and ignorant to guests needs. Waited 20 mins for first refill, Waiter brings the family it's order except my daughters order and tells us my daughter's order is unavailable and we all end up waiting for her to get her order (which wasn't worth the wait) while we wait to eat our food and staff and management just didn't care at all. Waiter was quick to walk by provide as little service as possible and saw no problem with a table full of empty plates and cups taking up table space. Seen far superior customer service at fast food restaurants so you're better off with that option if you're in marble falls, save your money and time. Not worth it. Met the absolutely rudest staffer that I have encountered in 4 years. Had to track down the hostess to tell us we had to wait 30 minutes to get a drink because the bar was closed for seating. Went here for lunch- the service was AMAZING! Our waitress and other staff checked in with us and refilled our drinks. When I was waiting for our waitress to come around again to ask for to-go containers a different staff member offered to get it for us. One of the worst experiences in a restaurant. First it took 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge that we were seated at a table. Our waitress repeatedly told us she was new... which is fine... but she didnt know the menu at all. Asked for a blended margaritta and my boyfriend asked for a shot on rocks. She came back and said my drink couldn't be blended... okay which of the margaritas can be blended? She has no idea. Order a coke. Order the smokehouse combo with brisket and ribs. Waitress didnt know what it came with... I pointed to the menu and said its pre-determined.... I want it as on menu. My boyfriend ordered chicken fajitas. We made bets on if order would be right because our waitress seemed like she had NO idea what she was doing. Food came out. Boyfriends fajitas came out steak instead of chicken. I pointed it out and she said okay I will get remade then proceeded to linger at our table... so take the fajitas and get them remade? Oh yeah she says. My steakhouse combo the corn was very overcooked. Brisket was good. Ribs were dry and tough. Fries were fine. Once the correct fajitas came out. They were hot and decent. But boyfriend stated that by the time they came out he had lost his appetite. I was done with my meal by the time they came out. Our tabletop computer was not working.... waitress stood at the table while I was still earing talking at us for too long. I finally said can we address this after we eat? This is one of the most disorganized and poorly run Chili's I've ever been to! And it wasn't particularly clean. People were sat with out wiping tables in between, the bathroom was disgusting with only one wirking stall and it had no supplies. We waited and waited for someone to take our drink order after having to ask for menus. My steak was well done even though I asked for medium, Teo others in our party had their orders wrong. We had to send out a search party to get utensils and napkins! Literally there wasn't anything positive to say about our experience. Food is good however every time I come to this Chilis I end up waiting forever after receiving my food. They brought the entree out with the appetizer. Yes I saw that there were a lot of complaints about this Chili's mostly slow service reports and maybe food issues but I went tonight for the first time at this location and I had excellent service and fantastic food. However I did sit at the bar so maybe that helped with the service. Lol. But in any case my waitress and bar tender were both very nice and personable. I got a beer about 30 seconds after my butt hit the stool and had my order in within 5 mins. Food came out in around 10 minutes. I got the Triple Dipper. Gosh, this place should not be even open, we walked out after being sitting at the outside balcony, we did try to give the restaurant chilli's another try as this is located in another town from where we live at. But as soon as we walked in and smell the inside restaurant and he how an attended their employees are starting from the person whom I think was the manager taking Mamés to sit customers to sitting us next to a wonderful view right!!!! It's a dirty stinky old broken down we don't what kinda construction outside the balcony and the lake wow it immediately gave us a atmosphere of discomfort and even to repeal eating at there. We ordered 2 drinks but had to canceled them 3 minutes later and resided to go and spend our Saturday afternoon some please else more enjoyable instead of been in a dirty and nasty restaurant and location. No stars because it's the gross place you will ever eat at. The back is coved I'm nasty crap and the floors are unclean. It smells like sewer. They don't take care of the things including the managers. I get dishes served and the plates and the cups are gross. My cup had some kind of oil around the part my mouth goes on. One of the worst services I've ever experienced! Top 5 on my list! Our waitress was awful! After seating, she took 15 minutes to come by and take our drink order. Then another 30 minutes after that to come and take our food order. It took over 30 mins to get our food. By that time our food was lukewarm and the fries were limp. There were at least 2 tables around us that sat down, ordered, ate their meal, and then left BEFORE our food even got to our table. My goodness.... never going there again! We noticed a new policy that the gratuity 18% tip is suggested and that we were able to change the tip. Chili's is the poster child for chain restaurants...kitsch décor, predictable menu, and staff that just want to get to the end of their shift and go home. Most of the time when I go to a restaurant like this is because I'm dragged here by someone else who doesn't know any better...even after you suggest going to some family run place...they insist that this place is really good. I love Chili's but not at this location. We sat on the balcony the view was gorgeous. It seems like they're understaffed. Our waiter never checked in on us through out our time there. No refills on drinks, my husband ran out of his drink so I had to share whatever water I had left with him. Our bartender/waiter was pretty good. One issue; I didn't want broccoli so he offered a substitute and mentioned the onion petals which I chose. When I got my meal I got broccoli. I mentioned the screw up and when I finished my steak the onion petals arrived. Then on my bill I got charged extra for the substitute. It wasn't much but if the waiter suggest the substitute he should disclose the surge charge and why in heaven would you charge for an item that didn't arrive till after you finished your meal? My wife and I stayed away from Chili's for about a year because of screw ups! I guess management just doesn't care because we never saw one! read more
