On quest to discover Tex-Mex gems in the Kingsland area after a day of boating. The place looks like hole in the wall from the front and parking is tight and right on 1431. Interior looks okay with new chairs. Ordered chicken verde enchiladas, queso, guacamole, and burrito. The verde sauce was minimal and not so tasty. Burrito is okay. Guac was outstanding. House salsa is excellent while the chips on the greasy side. Service great. I'll have to try other dishes to complete this review. This place really needs a remodel especially given a prime location for what it is worth across from Sonic. read more

February 2026- We ordered trip fajitas for two. Had shrimp, chicken and beef. It was delicious with sides of the usual guac, sour cream and cheese. All of I was delicious and hit the spot! People are doing it a disservice to complain. It's the best Mexican in Kingsland. Ignore the haters. read more

Lots of parking with very spacious seating inside. We got the happy hour margaritas on the rocks and frozen. None of them were great. The one on the rocks tasted like straight lime juice and the frozen one had too much artificial sweetener for me. The portions are HUGE! I have never had carne guisada served with cheese enchiladas so it was a nice surprise. The Doctor's plate was really good and a highlight of the meal. The service was ok. We sometimes had to ask a couple of times for things before they would show up. All in all, it was really good food. read more

This place is incredible! The food is fantastic and very affordable. We've been eating here for years and all the idiots complaining about the service are fools. Seat yourself, and if you need something either holler, or get your lazy ass up and ask, it's not that hard, have a good time. Food was delicious. First thing first, what gives a bad experience was the service for sure. Had to wave down a different server for a refill on salsa and another beer; all the while my server was sitting in a booth talking to a friend. Never got checked on once. The service at this place has always stunk but it's hit an all time low. We have been going here for years and i said last time i went would be my last time, but, my niece wanted to go, so i did. this place infuriates me with the service and the attitude of the servers. we went today, 12-4-25, at around 11am. they were not busy so we got our drinks and chips fairly quickly and ordered our food. my niece got the 3 breakfast tacos and the potatoes were cold in the middle of the taco. after our food was delivered we never saw the girl again. she didnt bring out the hot sauces with the meal so i had to go ask myself, never refilled my tea, and i had to go ask for a togo box. all the while, we could see her in the kitchen area on her stupid phone. you think i'm the only one complaining? look at some of the google reviews. i have asked more than once if there is a manager or one of the owners and they either say "no," or they dont have a manager. i know a family owns this and im sure some of them work there but they sure dont want to hear how bad they are doing. another review noticed the same thing i have, if you are of a certain race, you definitely get better service. i frickin hate this place and their attitudes. oh, i forgot, take your own chips if you go because theirs are cold and stale. also, if you like to look at dirty tables while you eat, your in luck because the one behind us stayed dirty the entire time we were there. this gas to be the LAZIEST wait staff i have ever seen. and the new furniture they got, you may as well be sitting on a board with no padding. they should have replaced the nasty ceiling tiles before they got new crappy tables and chairs read more

This is the worst dining experience of my life. How is this place even open? The food was hardly edible but the service was the worst part. We had to beg for waters and plates. We never got 3 items we ordered, even after reminding the staff. The restaurant was run by teens on their phone. The only adult we saw was standing around, coughing into his hand and wiping his nose, also with his hand. Another patron was not wearing shoes. My relatives who live in Kingsland, love Mexican food. They stumbled upon El Bracero while we were visiting them. They suggested that we try El Bracero for dinner. Honestly, we've had MUCH better Mexican food back home! For example, their menu item, The Doctor's Plate, was a major disappointment. First, The Doctor's Plate was under the enchilada selection, that makes no sense whatsoever! It's just ground meat tossed in onions, nopales and white queso. Even when I had it with some tortillas, that didn't improve the taste of the plate at all. The ground meat was under seasoned, and there was no spice. My cousin's enchilada burrito was too greasy and falling apart. The outside and interior of this place needs major renovations. Their prices, and service is fine, but the food was lack luster. I don't believe we should come back to El Bracero the next time we're here. read more

The inside of this place is pretty awful, I definitely would feel depressed if I did a dine in order. The lunch and dinner options are fine, but this place really excels with their enormous breakfast burritos. They're about five or six dollars apiece, and worth every penny because you could eat it for two meals. Very tasty. read more

It's our first time eating there! I had fajitas and it was Very dry, could tell it had been cooked this morning! The chicken wasn't bad because it's always dry but the beef was dry and tough. My boyfriend s enchiladas had some kind of cheese he didn't care for and a lot of it! I gave it a 1 because their margaritas were pretty good!!! Service wasn't great. Sit forever waiting for our waitress to come back but I had to go ask if we could get our ticket and was told you pay at the back. She didn't check on us except to bring us our food. We ran out of sauca which is a Nono in a Mexican restaurant! I've had so much better food it smaller mom and pop places! Also they only take cash, no cards! We will never go back! They require a mask when entering, you can remove when you sit, serice is good at times, but mainly when the younger gentleman, Luis, is working, I was here when it wasn't busy, was served quickly, got the chicken tortilla soup, this was the second time getting this, the first picture is the first time i got it, the second picture is the second time, was inconsistent, but the flavor remained absolutely wonderful, they also serve breakfast, but i didn't go to that. They have good enchiladas. I got the supreme ones with one chicken, one beef, and one cheese. I also tried the queso. It has some kind of green Chile and it's white not yellow. It was pretty good. Called waitress over to o get a refill and we're told they were out. A group of 5 people came into restaurant and had to clean off their own table. The waitresses were standing around talking. Fabulous bean, egg, and cheese tacos. They also cook a remarkable chile relleno! I highly recommend it. Great for breakfast, lunch, OR dinner. My husband and I love eating here and not just because we live right here in Bonny Cove. Update June 2017: They are still fabulous. Cash only now, just FYI. Excellent food today and the prices are great. The service however, horrible. Tables that came in much later, served first. Tea glasses left sitting empty. Chips empty (which wouldn't be a problem if it had not been for the half hour wait for the food) tables around you getting refills but you have to finally chase someone down. My wife and I love this place! Try the carne asada and pierna de puerco - SO GOOD! The sangria is also great, highly recommend. Their more traditional tex-mex dishes are ok, but their street tacos and charro beans are definitely my area favorites. Service can be spotty when they're swamped, but we've always been taken care of, and never once had a rude waitstaff experience. Usual service for us has been above average. I've been eating at El Bracero for over 5 yrs. The food has always been good. Most of the time the chips are crisp and the salsa is fresh. The shrimp, chicken, and beef fajitas are my favorite. The shrimp cocktail is fabulous. That red sauce with pico is to die for. The chili rellenos are very tasty as well. Also the migas and breakfast tacos are very filling and taste great!! Overall I can expect a great meal when I eat here and I do enjoy the servers although some of the newbies could do better. read more

We stopped to eat as we were driving through town. The other places we were wanting to eat either weren't open or were gone! We were pleasantly surprised. We were able to order breakfast even though it was 11:00. There were not many people working, but the service was good and the food was really good!
