    Doctor's Plate

Lots of parking with very spacious seating inside. We got the happy hour margaritas on the rocks and frozen. None of them were great. The one on the rocks tasted like straight lime juice and the frozen one had too much artificial sweetener for me. The portions are HUGE! I have never had carne guisada served with cheese enchiladas so it was a nice surprise. The Doctor's plate was really good and a highlight of the meal. The service was ok. We sometimes had to ask a couple of times for things before they would show up. All in all, it was really good food.

My relatives who live in Kingsland, love Mexican food. They stumbled upon El Bracero while we were visiting them. They suggested that we try El Bracero for dinner. Honestly, we've had MUCH better Mexican food back home! For example, their menu item, The Doctor's Plate, was a major disappointment. First, The Doctor's Plate was under the enchilada selection, that makes no sense whatsoever! It's just ground meat tossed in onions, nopales and white queso. Even when I had it with some tortillas, that didn't improve the taste of the plate at all. The ground meat was under seasoned, and there was no spice. My cousin's enchilada burrito was too greasy and falling apart. The outside and interior of this place needs major renovations. Their prices, and service is fine, but the food was lack luster. I don't believe we should come back to El Bracero the next time we're here.

The inside of this place is pretty awful, I definitely would feel depressed if I did a dine in order. The lunch and dinner options are fine, but this place really excels with their enormous breakfast burritos. They're about five or six dollars apiece, and worth every penny because you could eat it for two meals. Very tasty.

Tortilla soup, second time i got it.

They require a mask when entering, you can remove when you sit, serice is good at times, but mainly when the younger gentleman, Luis, is working, I was here when it wasn't busy, was served quickly, got the chicken tortilla soup, this was the second time getting this, the first picture is the first time i got it, the second picture is the second time, was inconsistent, but the flavor remained absolutely wonderful, they also serve breakfast, but i didn't go to that. Would recommend, they have some good food, sometimes service is slow, bit the food is wonderful.

HORRIBLE DONT EVER GO HERE !!!

Served me food on a dirty dish and still asked me to pay for it. Don't go here unless you want to get sick and disrespected.

Everything is loaded with orange cheese. It's the worst sort of Tex-Mex. If you're in Kingsland, TX you'll get much better food a Mi Pueblo

Very good food. Generous servings! Hot sauce was great! Just the right amount of heat! Lots of filling in the tacos and enchiladas.

Let me begin by saying that I truly believe those of you who say this place is not good either just want free food, or you're tastebuds are not werkin'! The flavor in everything.... We had the menudo, the burrito con steak plate, and the beef enchiladas... to drink we got a pina. The flavor in all of it was superb... I mean it was giving me a food orgasm the entire time! I wish I would have taken pics, but alas, I did not. This is one of the most authentic Mexican spots I've ever had, and we have had a lot. If you aren't the type who likes, or can handle, for that matter, seasoning and flavor, stay away! The service of the guys that work here was also just as good. No doubt we will return!! The green posole was just the right amount of heat with the fixens (cabbage, lime, onion, etc.), was delicious. Ordered the flautas and that was amazing-6 chicken filled flautas with lettuce/cheese on top. 2 types of salsa to pick from-red and green. Service was good. Have no complaints other than why didn't I try them sooner? Very good and authentic food for this area.

Unfortunately, the experience started off a little rough. We waited quite a while to be seated while several staff members walked past us. Eventually, someone asked what we needed, even though the sign clearly said to wait for the hostess. We were told to wait a little longer before finally being seated. Thankfully, our waitress completely turned the experience around. She was friendly, attentive, and efficient. She brought our drinks out quickly, took our order right away, and made us feel welcome. We each ordered two tacos, and they were delicious! They're much bigger than they look, so if you're not very hungry, one taco is probably enough. After our meal, we asked if we could explore the upstairs area, and our server happily said yes and encouraged us to look around the restaurant at all of the unique horror memorabilia and decorations. Overall, I'm glad we made the stop because it was a fun experience and crossed a bucket-list destination off our list. While I'm not sure I'd come back just for the food, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're a horror fan or passing through the area.

There is a food counter where you order sodas and food and a bar counter where you order all your alcoholic bevs. We've been coming here for years and have tried many things on the menu. Recently we were turned on to the shrimp basket...so yummy! The pics of our baskets didn't do the size of the shrimp justice, so had to take one of our take home box. They are HUGE butterflied shrimp with a nice, light batter. Not a fan of their tartar sauce, but other than that, so yummy. I can't remember the name of the burger I ordered but it had grilled jalapeños and a large onion ring on it. Burger was good sized and decent but my only complaint was it was overcooked. Fries had some kind of seasoning and were really good. Nice combination of atmosphere, convenience, and half way decent food. It's worth stopping in.
