I'm headed up to Garland TX from San Antonio. I came up Hwy 281 to avoid Austin and so I could eat at the Bluebonnet Cafe in Marble Falls. When I got to the restaurant, the line was out the door (it was 10:55 and I had left home about 30 minutes later than planned.....so not surprised). Nope. Not going to wait. Searched online for top restaurants near Bluebonnet Cafe and this one (Rae's) was the first one listed. Only about a mile away. Drove here and got seated right away. Menu is mainly burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc. Their Friday Special is Fried Catfish. Great choice. Two thumbs up. Chef's kiss. read more

Of all the times we passed through Marble Falls we have never visited their Main St downtown. Friends suggested that we meet at Rae's for lunch and cocktails. Spoiler alert Rae's connects all the dots for us: great cocktails, a good craft beer selection, excellent pub grub, and friendly service. We had a party of 6 and they were able to accommodate us on a busy Saturday afternoon when they were short-staffed. Our hosts apologized several times and said to please be patient. Our response not a problem as we had cocktails and were catching up with our friends. Our burgers were cooked perfectly others had nachos. When asked if they could bring additional tortilla chips they brought us a pile of em! There are other dining options besides pub grub and daily specials. Check out their website. I seriously don't get out much... I own a business down the street and had placed an order to go for 2 hamburgers and fries...rarely get to eat out..it was the most amazing food ever! The fries were so hot and crispy and the buns were super fresh as well as the toppings on the burgers..but the beef was incredibly delicious!! Went on a Tuesday and had the special of 2 pork tacos which were street taco size. Had double tortilla shells on each taco and after eating the first one, decided to split filling and used extra shell and made another taco. They were good but I'm not a fan of corn tortillas. Had a side order of fried okra and they were cooked perfectly. Also had the $5 margarita special and it was excellent so I had 2. Grandkids got the chicken tenders and they were a good size. Got the chips and salsa ranchero and the salsa was really good. Not your typical salsa. Was served warm. Husband had chicken wings and enjoyed them. Serving sizes were good. read more

Some of the best chicken wings in town!! Crispy, juicy and the right amount sauce. Shiner is always ice cold and the staff is always friendly. Love hanging on the deck in the evening with friends and having a good time. We've had other things in the menu and nothing has disappointed! read more

Found this place by chance and I'm so glad that I did! My mom and I were passing through Marble Falls today and chose this spot after seeing pictures from other reviews. The staff was friendly and greeted us as soon as we walked in bringing us menus. We both Ordered the chief burger and it was probably one of the best burgers I think I've ever had, the patty was thick, juicy and full of flavor, the bread was crispy and soft at the same time with a hint of sweetness. The fries were also very delicious with a seasoning on them. I will definitely be back with my family to let them check it out as well. read more

On a rough road trip to Horseshoe Bay resort this week (be forewarned: stay away from there), the R Bar was a smiling, welcoming respite. My wife's mac 'n cheese burger was reportedly great, although the mac 'n cheese would be a stress test for any bun...the supplied bun was not up to the challenge. My chicken fried steak was flavorful with great pepper gravy. Sadly, the meat was 75% inedible and a new provisioner should probably be sourced, but we all know that's the devil's bargain on CFS! But the smiles, promptness etc..., so welcome. (Also find ANY excuse to order the mashed potatoes!) read more

Even though I went on a busy day and got server who was just helping out, it was very nice. He made sure to turn the fans on to make sure we all stayed cool outside on a hot day, help me with booster seats and high chairs as soon as he saw us. The food was on point. My wife and I dined in on the patio. It was a little loud inside as they were busy. The outside setting was nice, shaded and had more space. They had fans going on the patio which helped keep air flowing as it was a pretty hot evening. The server was pretty fast and attentive. The wait for the food was not long either. We came to visit Marble Falls from San Antonio for a little spring break getaway. We found the R Bar & Grill on Yelp and decided to try it out. It isn't a big restaurant but has a good small town feel on the historic Third Street. We were greeted nicely and sat ourselves. The menu isn't extensive but has good options. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The food was great. We had the the Tejas Pulled Pork burger, Blazin Saddle Bowl and the Dylan's Tacos. All were very flavorful and plenty of food. I will say the Blazin Saddle Bowl was more like a soup which isn't what I expected but it was still very good. BONUS: They have green chili! All in all the vibe was nice and the service and food were great. We will eat there again. read more

We came here for a great lunch on New Year's eve. Not sure if it is a normal lunch, but I would definitely recommend based on this visit. The place is a bit small and the parking can be tough, but worth it. Plenty of seating outside relaxes things if you don't mind dogs and the weather works for you. The inside is pretty full with the bar, but they can definitely stand on their own in the restaurant biz. Whoever made the menu did great and the cooks keep up the charge. The service was the main miss of the event. I hope it was because of the holiday. They were very slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Being a holiday, slow and small - there were a lot of people looking for seats during the meal so once we got the food it felt like a speed eating contest. The minus star comes from a waitress who didn't write down the order but definitely should have. I'm never impressed when they don't write it down and am not amazed when it's blown. Items ordered never showed up and some in the party had some scrambled items added/subtracted from lunch items. Just write it down! We started with chips & salsa. No idea what those tasted like, so don't order it if they don't write it down. I had the pork tacos which were very good. Great pulled pork. I wanted to try the pork enchilladas as well, but I would thumb up these. They came with the BEST Charro beans I had this year. And the rice had some love, care and spices in it. This wasn't a canned mess from the a standard Tex-Mex wholesaler. This was unique and well enjoyed. Kitchen staff definitely deserved a 5-star. One of my friends had a fajita taco and gave me some of his fajita and onions. I may have taken a piece of his fingers in my enthusiasm! I really wish I had gone beef fajita tacos. I would suspect anything with beef fajita in it would be just as well cooked & seasoned. Finished off with a slice of pecan pie. It was good, but not the best I've had. Then again, I don't think I've ever had one I didn't like! I'd do it again if I could split it with someone. Pro tip: There are two doors. The one by the outdoor seating looks like the main entrance. Nope, it's the closest one to the stairs (you'll understand when you see it). Play local and go in the first door and just grab a seat. It's seat yourself. read more

Mama certainly knows how to cook chicken! Excellent food, efficient & most amiable server, and great location. There was indoor & outdoor seating & we chose the quiet inside area. The menu was varied & since the Wednesday special was Mama's chicken, we had to try it. The salad & homemade dressing was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection--moist & perfectly seasoned. We stumbled onto R Bar while visiting Marble Falls for the Soap Box Races (now in it's 10th year). We had brought folding chairs from home; then peered up from street level at a magnificent patio overlooking the start line. This review is more about the venue, service level, and ambiance rather than food. We only ordered some chili cheese fries which were quite tasty. Even with the event going, service was amazing. Various staffers checking on us constantly making sure our mimosas never went empty. We were actually sitting at the table reserved for the mayor; the mayor of Driftwood took over until he arrived. We spent about 4 hours watching the fun. I'll come back to try more food! Yall go ahead and accept my reservation for next years derby and I'll save some time packing the trunk! read more

Well, you can tell a business on how they take care of issues and mishaps. The owner and Robin, the manager, promptly take care of problems with a friendly and professionally attitude. And what I admire the most is, they take an issue and make it a learning event. Which is the best way to make your business great. I recommend this restaurant for several reasons but the number one reason is great food. Awesome place to sit and enjoy the food, you can sit inside where the AC is cold or outside. This has been a local favorite for the past 11 years. There isn't a bad thing on the menu and service is always good. There are times when it's slow or the kitchen gets backed up because of a large rush, but staff is friendly and drinks are cold and that more than makes up for that.
