Just finished at the Beloved Art Gallery so I remembered I bookmarked this as a place to go after looking at Marble Falls Holiday events for the day. I saw it was "A Very Merry Tamale Day" and thought of trying some tamales. I had called on the way up and asked if they sold the Tamales just hot or also frozen and they said both. The price was $24 for a dozen. We looked at the menu and asked some questions from the waitress so she gave us a few minutes as we looked over the Tamale Day menu. She told us the only item not available was the Pork w/Habanero Tamale. We decided on the Solo Tamales which are a 4-Tamale entree and the Veracruz Tamale which I wanted a la carte w/o the beans and rice. The waitress said that would be $8 vs. the entree which was $12. She said it was a big tamale as I asked what the difference was between a regular tamale and this one wrapped in a Banana Leaf? I was intrigued! For the Solo Tamales, we chose 2 Chicken Tamales, Pork & the Chicken & Cream Cheese. I wasn't interested in the Spinach and Mushroom. After a few minutes, we were served the Tamales. We split the 4-Tamales so we could try each flavor. The Chicken & Cream Cheese Tamale was surprisingly tasty since it had the Cream Cheese inside. The Pork and Chicken had a red seasoning so you couldn't distinguish between Pork and Chicken. I'd say the ratio of meat to Masa on the chicken was more Masa. It wasn't something to write home about. The huge Veracruz Tamale was moist, very flavorful, had lots of tender meat and so tasty that I finished the whole thing!! It was nice to have the sour cream dollop, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. I would've ordered a few to take home if we weren't planning on window shopping. The decor is rustic with lots of wood in the booths & on the ceiling. The place was pretty quiet as there wasn't any music playing and only one other booth had folks until we left where another set of customers sat in the front table by the entrance. It would've been nice if they had napkin dispensers on the tables. The tabletop seemed kinda sticky. Bathrooms are ample but the middle bathroom is very short in depth between the door and toilet. It was a beautiful day...granted... had a good time driving in to do a little preso at the resort...noted. But let's be honest--the highlight was this exceptional combination that I happened on just by driving around and some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. You can tell a lot about the restaurant by their salsa and chips. No exception here. I believe this was called shrimp Diablo enchiladas or something like that but no matter the name...the devil was in the details and the details mattered. I look forward to coming back. Parking hasn't changed, in fact, since there was some kind of street fair (?) going it was worse. Oh well, can't blame them for that. We were greeted and seated promptly, our server was pleasant. Our drink orders arrived quickly, and after placing our order, our food arrived not long after. Ordered the same thing I had previously, the Richys Fajita Burrito. Unfortunately, it has changed. It was good, but no longer the amazing dish it was. I wouldn't say it was bland, but no longer had the kick it used to. Atmosphere is still the same, mostly consisting of some low volume background music. Otherwise, it's mostly just the normal sounds of a restaurant. So overall a good experience, but nothing special anymore. We drove from over an hour away to come here, because it was that good the first time. Now, not so much. I would maybe eat here again, but certainly wouldn't make the trip just to eat here. read more

We were in Marble Falls for the night, found Oli's on Yelp and decided to try it. We had the chips/queso/salsa - ended up mixing some of the salsa in the queso and it was really good. We also shared the chicken fajitas. Chicken had a good flavor, rice was great and the tortillas were fresh. My husband and I went for lunch, everyone raves about this place so we figured we'd give it a try. We get seated, our waiter comes and brings menus, takes our drink order, (sweet tea) he returns with colored water, okay fine...($3.49 each) No chips no salsa, you have to purchase them separately $4.00 for a small $6.00 for large. I thought this was strange for a Mexican food place. when asked about it our waiter tell us it's because it was made on sight..Humm.. most of places we frequent make their own salsa and I've never had to purchase it separately. Again.. okay fine. We skipped the salsa. Both of us ordered chicken fajita taco salad. it was okay, ($20.00 each) $15.00+$5.00 extra for fajita chicken I've had better. instead of guacamole it had three small avocado slices, bummer, and worth noting, but I'll survive. and the added orange slice was odd. the salad in general was lackluster no discerning favor, (too many black beans, but I'm not one that likes beans in a salad, so maybe I'm biased on that.) It comes with two little containers of salsa, one green one red. wasn't really a fan of either one, and was glad we didn't pay $6.00 for it. Our total bill was over $50.00 after tip. This is one of our favs! Their fried tamales are the best and a must have. Then we usually share the mini tacos and it it always perfect. AND if you like spice, grab one of the jars of the green creamy salsa. It is so good and we will eat it the whole next week on everything! Great food. read more

Walked over to Oli's after seeing that Jardín had a 40 minute wait. We were seating immediately in a much quieter dining area and our food came out fast. My shrimp tacos were delicious, as were my son's pastor tacos. The Mexican martini was also well crafted (though I would love to see three olives next time ;) ) Our server was attentive and good. The food was great. But after the meal the server dropped her entire tray of food right next to our table covering my husband in salsa from head to toe. He had salsa in his hair and covering his expensive work pants. The worse part was the staff laughed and offered him nothing to help clean himself up with. The food was good with a authentic taste. We both liked the street tacos and Charo beans. However we had to pay for salsa even though we ordered guacamole and chips, and two meals. The guacamole was in a tiny bowl with an even tinier scoop of guacamole on top of lettuce obviously to make it look like more in the bowl. We had to pay $4.00 For a small bowl of salsa and it was a strange flavor, very lemon and tomato forward. The dining room was dark. The AC plus fan blowing down on us. We asked to move to the patio since it was a beautiful day, that worked out until a group with two couples one adult and 10 kids came out there. Not the restaurants fault but it did make it loud. The service was fine. It's just that I've never been charged for a small side of salsa. And BTW you don't get the free chips and salsa, also the meal came with a TINY bit of green salsa. Maybe one ounce. No red salsa. I would have given a 4 star if they hadn't charged for the salsa or given a reasonable amount on your plate. Today we went in for lunch and we met Richard our host who was friendly and welcoming. He made great recommendations and knew so much about the menu. Richard told us he had worked in the kitchen so he knew a lot about the menu items and ingredients. My husband had a mixed street taco plate (one of each type) and I had Delicious Portobello Enchiladas. The food was very flavorful and I had plenty left over to bring home. My husband and I visited this week on Saturday night. Food was excellent. I had slow roasted carnita quesadilla and chipotle chicken enchiladas. It was so good. Service was excellent and friendly with helpful staff. I wanted dessert and my waiter suggested the coconut (cocheta ?) dessert. Oh my was it good and I don't like coconut! This place is AMAZING. We came for a weekend in Marble Falls and walked around Main street. Oil's was in our tourist guide so we decided to give it a try with not very high expectations but we were blown away. Our waitress gave us good service and good recommendations. The drinks were ok but they had interesting beers. I tried Friday Fried Catfish special and it was the crispiest, crunchiest catfish I ever had. It came with a fresh salad with delicious cilantro dressing. Hubby tried Chipotle Enchiladas which were very flavorful and son tried street tacos which were also delicious. My daughter had Burrito Loco with Carnitas and she saw d it was good but not Amazing. Overall a good gem in Marble Falls. Must try!! read more

The tortilla soup was a deep red color, very greasy, very salty, and packed with shredded chicken. I couldn't eat it. The cheese enchilada was just ok. Expensive prices for Mexican food. The beer wasn't brought to the table until right before our food. We were given one napkin a piece. I needed more than one and the server never came back until time to pay. So I had to improvise. I wasn't sure what to expect. The inside of the restaurant looks like it used to be a BBQ or American style restaurant based on decor. Pictures fill the walls with varied food options that definitely peak your interest in a positive way. We ordered the Happy Plate and it was delicious. I only wish it came with tortillas, but we ordered a side of tortillas. We also ordered the pork carnitas mini tacos and they had great flavor. No chips and salsa before meal for a "Mexican food" establishment. Food was pretty good but very expensive for the food

I am giving a 3 because we didn't actually get to eat the food. 35 minutes before the restaurant closed we walked in. I have worked the food industry and understand the inconvenience but for a customer in a small town looking for food,especially in a tourist town, This should be a norm. The hostess had to ask permission to seat us and once she did she had to keep checking on us because the waiter was too busy, although there were only 4 active customers. Credit to the hostess because she maintained an awesome attitude, but the rest of the restaurant, who were trying to close by sweeping and rolling silverware, and making faces at how annoyed they were at our presence was overwhelming.
