This restaurant is an extension of the horseshoe Bay resort. It has a very nice bar with televisions playing different shows. They have a decent wine list and they make good signature cocktails. We started with two Aperol spritz's. They were good, but I've had better, no prosecco was used and bubbles were no where present. The restaurant itself is not well lit for ambient effect. One observation that other yelpers have made, is the fact that the food menu is quite limited, which is true. That means we'll probably visit here again, but would not make it a regular stop due to the limited menu. You may see the words "the impossible" on the menu which refers basically to a vegan choice instead of meat. If it wasn't for the service being on point and the burger and fries worth every penny of $20, this would be a three and a halfstar review. Kudos to our server Nonku who was perfect. The next morning we had the breakfast buffet which was far better than anything you'll find at a Comfort Inn. There were very many options and everything was very fresh and of high quality which you would expect for $29 per person. And once again, the service was on point.

Amazing food, I love how they have a new delicious soup every day. Service is good and fast and the ambiance is beautiful and classy.

J's restaurant isn't just convenient for hotel guests, it's also a delicious, upscale, but friendly place to enjoy any meal. Our first meal at J's was dinner. Our server was Larkin. She was wonderful! So helpful and sweet! We started with the Mexican street corn chips appetizer. I wished they had a little more corn on them, but they were yummy. I had the salmon for my entree. It was cooked to perfection! The crispy potatoes are to die for! My husband had the Bad donkey sausage with potato salad, corn bread, baked beans, and side of brisket. He couldn't finish it all. It was a huge, and delicious meal. He loved every bite! I enjoyed a lemon Moscow mule with dinner. Everything was perfect!

If you live or are around the HorseShoe Bay area, J's Restaurant should be one of your go-to places. We had the rainbow trout with a tomato compote and the sausage and corn appetizer which was delicious. Also ordered the cornbread (not pictured) and had to order another one to-go for a late night snack. The place is nice, service is very attentive and always greet you with a smile. The manager also made us feel welcomed and experience the true texas warmth. Coming from Seattle it felt very strange to be around so many warm people ...

Everything we ordered including kid's meals (not pictured) was tasty. Very good service as well.

The buffet opens usually around 7 AM till 11 AM. It is open daily during the height of the tourist season, but I don't think it is open during the winter months. You do not have to be a member to enjoy this great buffet, come hungry.

My catfish, unfortunately, tasted strong of ammonia and was inedible. The server took it back and said they'd "figure it out". I wasn't asking for anything just letting them know. The chef told the server it was not bad but being from Louisiana I've eaten ten times my weight in fried catfish i know what I know. The server, Louie, was excellent. He was super gracious and we will come back because of him and his exemplary customer service. He took it off the bill and was very concerned I would be going home hungry. What a caring heart. Was going to give 2 stars but Louie's attitude bumped the experience to three stars. I'll review again next time but no catfish for me here. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful evening air and view.

Hooper's is one of the most unique restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more It's inside the restored Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) house from the movie, and walking up to it feels so unreal. Once you're inside, you can explore a lot of the house and it blew me away how much you're able to walk around and see. There's art everywhere, tons of movie memorabilia, and it kinda feels like a Texas Chainsaw museum that just happens to serve food, which is pretty awesome. The theme isn't subtle either (in the best way). One area had a bar with a severed head behind it! There are so many little details, displays and photo moments that other horror fans are going to be obsessed with too! Even the menu is fun, with stuff like the Chicken Slaughter sandwich and the Hitchhiker's grilled chicken. I know it's cheesy, but I love it, especially when the whole place is packed with memorabilia. Food was pretty good too. The experience is definitely the main event, but the food held its own as a bar and grill, and mixing that with how cool the place is made it feel like a full stop, not just a novelty visit. Service was fine but not super standout. There were only a couple staff members actively helping people while others were cleaning up, and everyone was nice enough, just not really "above and beyond." Our food also took a while for a burger and a turkey sandwich, but honestly those are my only real complaints, and I'm only even mentioning it because I'm also here to talk about the food. It was great regardless of the wait. Upstairs has a few more Leatherface items plus some gory/spooky decor, and there's a cool little location map where you can stick a pin in to indicate how far you've visited from! They also have a creepy skin looking guest book to sign, which is such a perfect touch. One real warning though: it's an old house. In Texas, Prepare for the heat, and I mean that seriously. If you want to explore outside too, come ready. I had a UV-blocking umbrella and a face mister and I was still feeling it. Sunglasses for the grounds are a must too. Also, there's a kitty living on the porch named Tuxie, and he's a precious little buddy who loves attention. Make sure you say hi. If you're a horror movie fan or you just love weird, memorable places you'll be talking about after, this one is absolutely worth it.

All the shirts are hanging in the hall when you first come in. A bunch of cool designs. Only issue was my friend is a small and they don't sell smalls. I guess it's the whole everything is bigger in Texas. He was able to get a poster though. There was a 30 minute wait but it flew by. You can walk all around the property and also go upstairs to see some life size mannequins of family members. It was such a cool experience. Staff is super nice and accommodating. So finally we get to the food. Delicious. I got the chicken slaughter sandwich. It was huge. We also got the artichoke dip that was kinda thick like cream cheese. We got fried zucchini that was delicious. You get tons of food. This place is an absolute must see if you're in the area.

There's enough room for live music, which they had on Halloween. Low lighting throughout for an intimate feel. We were greeted and seated immediately, but we were a little disappointed in the lack of attendance at 8:30 PM. We had a couple of drinks and a couple of items off of the appetizer menu, and then ultimately decided to head to Johnson City to see what festivities were going on there. The appetizer pricing seemed a little high to me ($20 each plate) but the dishes tasted good. The croquettes are really rich and cheesy. I didn't get a lot of lamb flavor from the flautas, but they were good. They also had free chicken wings and chips & salsa for their Halloween event. The wings & salsa were excellent!
