This is the only Thai place we could find so, it's great in that sense. Servers are friendly, food takes a while and it decently priced. If you're a frequent diner of thai food, I wouldn't expect too much. Their chicken satay was dry even with the peanut sauce and hard to eat. The green curry was so so, lacked flavor, was a bit grainy almost but with sriracha it was better. Place is cute though, but don't go if you're craving good Thai food per see. read more

I was driving through town and decided to stop off and eat this place looked and sounded great. I was in a large vehicle so parking was not ideal but it's a cute area so a block walk was kind of nice. The place is super cute and the staff Was very friendly and prompt. The food... Everything was so flipping delicious! I had a courier of the day and pad Thai and can't decide which one I love tomorrow. Their portions are fair if not on the large side and their prices are unbelievable. It's like Covid never happened here! Thank you for such a pleasant experience! Very nice lunch at Ginger & Spice and loved how management made sure my daughter's meal was gluten free! We ordered the Spring Rolls, Taste of Ginger, and Basil Fried Rice (gluten free). Just bc they're not serving sushi this month doesn't mean you should pass up Ginger & Spice. It's a cozy with an inviting environment. The waitress was on top of everything, was incredibly kind and had perfect timing anytime anything was needed. We ordered the spring rolls and the royal dumplings for appetizers. The dumplings had a fantastic rich flavor. The spring rolls were the perfect size. Our entrees included yum nur, yellow curry and tiger cry. The curry alone is 5 stars. Rich and just the right amount of heat to it. The yum nur, the taste was fantastic and my only downside was the meat was pretty thick and took a bit to chew. The tiger cry was an absolute joy. Food here was spot on. We knew it would be good when we came in after 8 on Sunday and every table was full. Pad Thai was saucy and the perfect tenderness. Overall, the food was average. Good, not great and not bad. Service was extremely slow and the waitress was confused and had to ask several times for clarification on what we had ordered. After taking our order, she had to return again to ask another time for another clarification. She was unable to enter the order into the computer, however, luckily, the young waitress was able to enter if for her. It took more than 30 minutes for our order of 6 sushi rolls. It was not busy when we ordered, only 1 other couple. If I really needed to get sushi and no other place was open and I didn't care if it was good, I would go back. Other than that, it was not very impressive. I am confident if we had gotten the other waitress, it would have been a better experience, but the food would still be mid level at best. read more

Came here for the Sushi and the short answer is it is okay. It's a small little restaurant and you would definitely miss if you weren't looking for it. But easy parking and we didn't need to make reservations. We were seated right away and our server took our drink order. Instead of a traditional sushi restaurant, their focus seems to be more on Thai food. To just try the basics, we ordered a seaweed salad, some nigiri sushi and a roll. The timing wasn't the best. The seaweed salad didn't come out until well after the sushi was brought to the table. Pretty standard for a seaweed salad although could have used some sesame seeds. I think they might have, but so sparse you can barely tell. We ordered Tuna, Yellowtail and Salmon for the nigiri; unfortunately, they were out of Yellowtail. The tuna was just average and nothing special. The salmon seemed almost partially frozen. It wasn't... but was super cold/chilled as if it had just thawed out. It was fair salmon. For the roll, we got the Philadelphia Roll; they put tuna along with salmon in theirs and we asked to hold the tuna which they did. The rolls seemed to be overwhelmed with cream cheese so it was hard to taste the quality of the salmon but it seemed to be the same quality of the salmon nigiri we ate. For sushi, it's pretty average. There are some incredible sushi restaurants in Austin and even a few above average in Bee Cave so we were hoping we were going to get lucky but this sushi was just average. We will of course go back to try the Thai food at some point but not sure about going back here for the sushi. read more

Service was prompt and complete. My food came so piping hot I had to let it cool a bit. My server who may be the owner, Kylie, was so responsive she filled my tea four times. I had the red ginger with chicken. It was absolutely perfect. The chicken and peppers were cut in bites, sized for the chopsticks I love to use. Enough heat to make me enjoy it but not too much to make it uncomfortably spicey. Everything was just ok. One of our dishes was way overcooked and the server never came to check on us and my mother is too polite to speak up. So when we mentioned it closer to leaving they tried to tell us that we should have said something before taking a bite. First of all, there is no way to tell if it tastes bad unless you try the food. Additionally, as mentioned before, the server never checked on us. We then got glared at on the way out. Good food choices for both Japanese and Thai cuisine. Place is small and filled in less than 30 min right after opening on a Sunday midday. Place is clean and tidy. Terrible restaurant. I was checking out after a meal that was clearly bad it terms of quality possibly because of the holiday they may have their chef missing. A guy walks in and asks for a Thai ice tea. 10 min were left for the restaurant to close but the girl working there clearly didn't want to serve. Told the guy they are closing. He asked if he could use the restroom. She said "no public restroom". The guy asked, "what can I buy so I'm a guest". No answer and pointed him to the sign. Very enjoyable dinner on Sunday early evening. Service was quick and efficient and the food was quick, hot, fresh and flavorful. Just what we wanted on cold day. Must stop spot if you are in the area. My husband and I swung by this restaurant after craving Thai food and found Ginger and Spice was on our way to our destination to Kingsland. I am so glad we stopped by here not only because the food was amazing but the location is great to take a stroll around after a nice lunch of dinner. We ordered spring rolls to start and tried 2 of the soups and shared the Pad Thai which I recommend to everyone! They got our order wrong, we called back and they wanted to charge us for the correct item claiming it was our fault because they repeated back the order. Very impressed by this small restaurant. We showed up at 8 (they close at 9), the staff was so nice and served us, even though I know they were ready to go home. I appreciate the service! Not child-friendly. We came at exactly the time they opened so there were only less than 10 customers at the time. We were 4 adults and 2 toddlers (6 total). We went to a table spacious enough for us with 6 chairs so that the 2 chairs could be substituted with high chairs. but the waitress told us to move to a pretty small singular table with 4 chairs only instead. Like literally, where is she going to seat our children? And with a very small table how do they expect us to fit all our orders considering there should be 6 plates. We were too upset we left the place. I've been eating here quite a few times, food's great. But a nasty service is a huge turn off. We moved to Olli's very near to their location. You cannot tell from the pic but it's extremely red for the tomato sauce they used nice been eating pad Thai for over 20 years and never have I once gotten it like this. It was literally thai spaghetti. Now the customer service is as 5 stars. They are extremely nice people and very attentive. 5 stars for the fried ice cream too! It was absolutely amazing. Full of flavor and quite big for 3.50 The soda prices were inflated 2.50 for a small can of Coke. Again the service and fried ice cream was amazing. Pad Thai was horrible! So much tomato sauce.
