Ordered the chefs choice Sashimi and was sorely disappointed. The edamame, soup, and seaweed salad was good. The sushi wasn't as good as HEB sushi but it was decent. The sashimi on the other hand? It tasted the way it looks in the picture; questionable. I was really hungry but we ended up leaving the plate on the table along with everything else. I just didn't feel good about eating anything else after seeing and tasting the poor quality of the sashimi. I don't know if it was frozen and thawed or smashed but The texture was awful and it didn't taste right. I was surprised because this place was well rated. Marble Falls has a Thai restaurant? I had to repeat that thought in my head before actually grasping the concept. In an area of the Hill Country that is known for fried this and that and average Tex-Mex; it definitely stands by itself. There was some initial confusion about what it really was. My friend Kim kept telling me about the cream cheese rolls. Philadelphia roll? Pastry? Kolache? Turns out it was an egg roll wrapper with a mixture of cream cheese, spices, and mushrooms. That was the first bites I had off the appetizer bar and they were delicious. The app bar is included when you order one of the lunch options and on this day had two soup options, California rolls, crab rolls, and salad fixins. The Tom Kha was on par with what you could order in Austin. The rolls were good quality as was the dipping sauce that came with the cream cheese egg rolls. Is this really happening? I'm eating Thai dishes in Marble Falls! I ordered Phad Thai with some extra spice and it was really tasty. I selected the medium hot spice level though next time I probably could handle the hottest. The dish was artfully presented with the peanuts and the sprouts on the side with perfectly cooked noodles. Kim ended up sharing her fried rice with Little Rooster. I don't think she was prepared for him to eat that much rice; next time I'll order him a kid size edition so he won't be eying her plate. Service was above average with various staff members keeping our drinks in order. Our waiter seemed to have a basic knowledge of the cuisine and its finer points. The sushi that I saw come out of the kitchen destined for other tables looked fresh and appealing. I think Ginger and Spice has pulled off the first real restaurant in Marble Falls that I would actually get in the car and drive an hour. My favorite Asian food in town! Come during lunch, it's the best time of day. There's a buffet bar with two kinds of soups (Tom Yum,Chicken) and fried bananas/tempura with egg rolls or cheese rolls. Lots of sauces like Tiger Cry. Sushi is beautifully displayed along with a salad Bar. I enjoy the hot green tea here. My husband loves the Chicken Pad Thai and I love the Crab Salad. The boyfriend and I were sharing a fun weekend of golf out at Horseshoe bay and were drawn to Ginger & Spice because of their yelp reviews. The place is down a pretty dark road, on the corner of a pretty dark street. But hey, we found it and the inside was quite cozy and nice. We were having some trouble deciding what we wanted, so our waiter helped us out. I forget his name, but he was hard working, helpful, oh so sweet, and just plain awesome. The place was busy and he was always there for us when we needed him. He recommended the Tom Yum Chicken Soup and the Tempura Shrimp Roll. And we also ordered the Pad Prik King with Shrimp and Cashew Chicken Dish. Tom Yum Chicken Soup- snazzzzy flavor! It was oh so good! I love it when the broth is really bold and not just something to fill you up, the chicken was good too. Tempura Shrimp Roll- yes, I know tempura shrimp rolls aren't much out of the ordinary, but this was fresh, satisfying, and delicious. Kudos on the recommendations waiter! Pad Prik King with Shrimp- This dish was lovingly mixed with a red curry sauce. The sauce was mild and very nice, and the shrimp were fantastic. I wasn't a fan of the green beans. Personally, I like mine cooked a while so they're soft, these were pretty hard, but that's just me. Cashew Chicken Dish- The meat was fantastic. I'm definitely a fan of the crispy sweet amazingness. All in all, the visit was great. The service was the best, along with the recommended soup and sushi. The entrees were fine. I'd come back again. :D read more

I could not wait to try this place. I love Thai food. LOVE it!!! So as it was listed as the Marble Falls top rated restaurant on Yelp- no way could I not go. So I did- and took my mom and dad. Did it live up? Yes & no. Ambiance- Nice enough- small and quaint- cool part of town. Inviting atmosphere and clean bathrooms. As we were at the top of the dinner crowd we got to pick our own seat- awesome- love it when they say that ^,~ Food- Ok. So I'm a curry freak. Love. Me. Some. Curry. Especially yellow- my favorite! But I wanted to be able to try more than one- so since the waiter suggested that the panang curry was sweet (which I like) - my dad and I decided he'd order the yellow and I'd order the panang (with brown rice). Mom ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice. We also had a few appetizers. Here's the verdict. Edamame- pretty standard but I like that it was a lil on the saltier side. "Cheese Rolls"- not like the wontons you're used to- but rolled up like an egg roll or spring roll would be. These are pretty tasty folks!!! Thom Yum Soup- very flavorful! Liked it!!!! Pineapple fried rice (with chicken) - big portion- very good!! Panang Curry- I found this to be totally FLAVORLESS! In fact I sent it back and asked for the yellow instead. Because I took one taste of my dad's and..... Yellow Curry- AAAAHHHHMMMAAAAZZZIINNNGGG!!!!! So so so so so good! One of the best I've had- and that's saying something. Get. This. Stuff. The walls are splattered with dried on food, broken cabinets, open utility closets inside the ladies restroom, the buffet bar appears to be on its last wheel. Throw away the DEAD plant in the corner. Come on! How hard is it to toss a twig? Now onto the food. Since food isn't typically described as filthy, I'll do my best to equate the sense of nasty. The Tom Kai soup was watered milk with grisly chicken. No egg rolls rather pre pkg' d cheese rolls. Pathetic attempt at sushi in that the Cal roll had the most bitter cucumber rendering it inedible. My boyfriend ate sushi, which he said was good.. BUT, I got the yellow chicken curry and it was AMAZING! The flavor was phenomenal with each bite. Found this place via Yelp while driving through and looking for vittles. We were skeptical, but had to give it a try. It was actually very good. The honey had the green curry, which was marked 3-pepper spicy on the menu... which is why I did not order it. I instead ordered peanut chicken. I like a little spicy but not super spicy. When the food came, my honey said his wasn't too spicy but was very good, and I should try it. So I had a spoonful and it was delicious and really only one-pepper spicy, if that. So I decided they must mean "super spicy for pansy ass white people who never saw a pepper in their life" as opposed to spicy by normal Thai food standards. Honestly, his food wasn't much spicier than my zero-pepper peanut chicken (which was also quite delicious) so I don't know how they can tell the difference between a 1 pepper, 2 pepper and 3 pepper dish. We were there for lunch, and the menu said that if you ordered a meal $9 or more, you could use the appetizer bar. On the thai side of the menu there were only two items $9 or more -- and both were 2+ pepper spicy (which of course at the beginning of our visit, we didn't realize was a superb exaggeration). So, honey who ordered the $9.50 green curry was able to go to the bar and I was not. He brought back some soup and some fried broccoli and some deep fried cream cheese spring/egg rolls. Personally - I think that there should have been an option for me to upgrade my $8.00 meal to $9.00 to visit the bar, which also had california rolls and fresh fruits and veggies on it. My meal, though delicious, was not large and was overpriced for lunch at $8.00. For $9.00 with the buffet though would have been a real bargain. There were lots of diverse folks in the restaurant, which was nice to see as well. Service was just fine. I probably would have given them 5 stars if there was a way I could have "bought into" the appetizer bar. Overall though, the food was as good as Thai here in "the city"... though much less spicy. read more
