We were so pleased when this place reopened. The food was always good, but the service was hit and miss. We have been there twice in the past three weeks, once for drive-thru lunch tacos and, most recently, for Sunday breakfast. I needed a migas fix, and theirs are worth the 30- minute drive. The lunch taco order from the drive-thru was a disaster. We waited 28 minutes after placing and paying for our order. No one ever updated us on the status, so we finally just drove off. My wife looked back at the restaurant and noticed someone waving at us from the pick-up window. I reluctantly drove back, grabbed the food, and we headed down 281 to San Antonio. The picadillo was delicious but the tacos were very small. The small carne guisada tacos were inedible. Very tough meat. Unacceptable. I think we ordered eight tacos and by the time we were looking for the remaining picadillo tacos, the bottom of the paper bag disintegrated from the grease and completely trashed my center console, adding insult to injury. The tacos had been placed into the bag vertically. Not a good thing. We had to stop again to clean up the mess and get something else to eat. Their green salsa is excellent though. The breakfast experience was even worse. I ordered migas with no cheese, extra jalapeños, crispy hash browns and a side of bacon. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and crispy hash browns. The wait was pretty long. The food arrived. My wife's bacon and hash browns were both undercooked. My migas had no jalapeños and my hash browns were undercooked, and no side of bacon. I requested a side of chopped jalapeños and a bottle of green salsa. It took a while for our server to return. She did finally bring crispy bacon. I asked her again for salsa and jalapeños. We never saw her again. My good was cold. My wife finished her food. We just gave up and headed to the cash register to pay. Our server was the cashier. I told her my breakfast was still uneaten and waiting for jalapeños and salsa. She didn't have much of a reaction and handed me a bill for both plates of good. I complained; she adjusted the bill. We were on a busy schedule so there wasn't time to get anything else to eat. Thanks for ruining my morning. These people are clueless. Scratch yet another restaurant off the very short list of Mexican restaurants in Marble Falls. read more

We wanted to dine in for lunch today, but it was so blazing hot in Marble Falls, We opted for the drive-through. It took quite a while for the order to be made, but it was the height of lunch hour, so I understood. We ordered the number 10 a crispy taco, cheese enchilada and rice & beans. Also the number 19 "Enchiladas Supreme". A plate with four enchiladas, beef, chicken, cheese and beans. Served with cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. We thought both dishes were fairly typical Tex-Mex and nothing special. The only disappointment was lots of restaurants are giving chips and salsa "to go" along with plate lunches, but apparently not at El Rancho. They do have a large menu and we might be interested in checking it again when in Marble Falls. read more

Just ate here! Has always been a favorite of our until tonight! 3 stars for our main meal!! It was very good but the queso tasted more like milk, was very thin and had no taste! We sent it back and what they brought back wasn't any better! Their salsa is also thin and very tomato-ie! Would not recommend it at all unless they change it! Also had Ice tea with no ice! Had to ask for ice! Will go again and hope they do a better job! read more

the service was great being that we were the only ones in there. the menu was really small. like 3 items. mini tacos, a quesadilla and a fajita potato. we saw people walk in, see the menu and walk out. we are always game for a food challenge so we stayed and ate. let me tell you... the food was FRESH! and delicious! we tried two of their 3 dishes. a person could sample the menu for about 30 dollars, but it was so good, my husband ordered a second round of mini tacos on top of his first plus quesadilla. the brisket and pastor were excellent. down side was no chips or regular salsa on the table. so, long story short, it looks like they just reopened from a big remodel. probably on limited menu due to lack of customers. I, and my husband will be returning, and hopefully will have more of a menu soon. but we will keep supporting this place. happy fooding! read more

We were on a road trip and were stopping for lunch. We were actually headed to another Mexican place just down the road, but that place's parking lot was empty while El Rancho's was packed. So we followed the crowd. And we were not wrong. We both had the #68 Tacos Al Pastore plate, and it was excellent. Only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is because there was almost no salt in anything. Once I dumped about half a salt shaker's worth on my food, everything was fantastic. Good hole in the wall Mexican food. It is located off the main drag in Marble falls. I had the Alambres plate, it was delicious. It was beef fajita, chicken fajita, and bacon cooked together with onions, bell peppers and cheese. I would eat here again. We are new to the area; have eaten here twice and plan to return many more times! The food is delicious and the wait staff were very polite! I returned to this restaurant on Friday, October 30, 2020 after bragging about it to a close friend - IT WAS TERRIBLE. We tried to eat inside the restaurant but it was full of flies! We were constantly waving our arms across our plates trying to keep the flies from landing on our food. We alerted the staff to the situation & they were very nonchalant about it - not caring AT ALL. They told us it couldn't be helped because the flies came in the front door. Then they lied to me - I asked to speak to the manager and was told the person would be right over to our table. After waiting for about 15 minutes, I asked again to speak to someone in charge. At this point the staff told me it'd be another 20 minutes before the manager was available. I told the staff I couldn't wait that long and then they told me the manager was in Mexico and not available AT ALL. The dishonesty and lack of concern of the staff in addition to the abundance of flies make me change the rating I gave - I'd give them a ZERO and they don't deserve that. I asked that the manager call me whenever they had time - more than 3 days later I haven't heard from anyone. HORRIBLE Customer Service. read more

Seriously, I'm not sure I've ever seen a Texmex place in Texas that charges for chips at the table - come on! That's just a given at these places! Very loud and very small. Anglo's not welcome. Our regular favorite Mexican restaurant was closed for Christmas Eve, so we found this place open. I walked in to get a table while my wife, daughter and son-in-law were getting the baby out of the car. I stood patiently waiting at the entrance by the sign that said wait to be seated. A few employees looked at me but they were bringing out food or ringing up customers which I understand and waited. A few minutes later a group of young hispanic men came in behind me and then my family walked in behind the young men. I was still standing in front. Within a minute of the Hispanic young men walking in one of the employees that ignored me because he was busy, walked by and acknowledged the young men and asked them in Spanish how many and proceeded to seat them. I immediately told my family "let's go" and we left. We had eaten there once before and it was just okay but we figured they were open ,so let's try again. So apparently they will serve us non Hispanic people as long as there aren't others around who they prefer. As we left my wife let them know we had been there first so they knew why we were leaving. This is the new location for the well known Burnet restaurant. They are in the old Janie's building, but they have renovated the interior and it is warm and friendly with lots of great room. Their food is fantastic, better than I remember the Burnet location having. Starting with the fresh chip salsa they bring to the table in a small carafe, they also have two additional salsas that are steps above in taste and potency. But all great. Chips are fresh, crunchy and not oily - tastes like they just came from the oven...probably did. We have not had all their dishes, but the chili relleno with chicken is wonderful, smothered in a rich green sauce and lots of pulled chicken. Their Carnitas are wonderful, again sitting on top of a nice verde sauce and a small guacamole salad on the side. They have a sort of braised top that makes them a treat for the taste buds. I had just recently heard about this place opening after the last resturaunt closed up..I decided to try them out and was the worst mistake I made for ordering breakfast tacos..I work at a very big box store and we order roughly 75 or so tacos throughout the week from Super Taco but since they were not open at that time I thought I would give El Rancho a shot..Lets just say these Breakfast Tacos had to be the worst I have ever had..Very easy & basic tacos..4- Egg, ham, potato & cheese.. Absolutely the worst mistake ever.. The potatoes were actually chopped up French fries of some sort , eggs were so over cooked & dry, ham was some sort of thin lunch meat & not even sure what kind of generic cheese was used..Absolutely disgusting and will never eat there again.. Yet alone they will never have our business & lost out on lots of breakfast tacos on a weekly business from our place of work..Never again..Never make this mistake people..Always Super Taco from this point on.. I have always been a Super Taco fan as our entire company is but chose El Rancho since Super Taco was not open at 6am & I had to get them early..Never will I order from there again..SUPER TACO always and forever..Never El Rancho again...Oh, and I ordered a sweet tea also..It was nasty as if it was stale and left in the pitcher overnight..And this was at 6am when it should have been freshly made as they had just opened..Needless to say I threw it out as well as the tacos after 1 bite.. read more
