Service is terrible and no options for vegetarians. Their beans have pork. The men working in this restaurant are lazy. I feel for the woman in the front who is hustling and trying her best. We looked at the Yelp reviews for El Rancho restaurant, and decided to give it a try.​ We were not disappointed.​ The ​complimentary​ chips and salsa were good, the chips hot, and the salsa spicy, but not too hot. We asked to try some of the salsa ​v​erde, which was very good, a jalapeño-based salsa that had a little heat, but was delicious. Next, we ​ordered guacamole and the hous​e queso, which came out ​quickly. ​ ​The ​queso was hot, and the guacamole was fresh. Both were good. Not spicy hot, but very fresh!​ We ordered the beef soup and chicken tortilla soup next, as well as shrimp fajitas. The soup came out in bowls! Had one of the best meals here our entire trip visiting Texas for two weeks in early May 2022. Great value and flavors in the dishes we ordered for a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Will definitely be back again next time we're in town. We ordered their Chicken Taquitos plate, beef soup, and their Super Molcajete which was simply fajitas steak and chicken and shrimp which made it super vs regular. I planned to share this with as it looked like a lot of food, especially for $13.99 but sounded real good. The Taquitos were good, came with rice and beans, and so was the beef soup, but my molcajete was outstanding. The beef and chicken was cut up into smaller pieces and along with green bell peppers and onions it had nopales or prickly pear (cactus) all cut up the same size. Not sure if it was done to make it easy to eat or easy to cook. Either way it had plenty of flavor and was a generous serving. I made six good sized flour tacos and wife made two small tacos out of corn. Got the super version with shrimp for $2.00 more mostly for her. Place came highly recommended by sister-in-law and it exceeded my expectations. Lots of locals and they spoke Spanish as a preferred language. My modelo was also inexpensive like $3.50. Only downside is their service, while good, is a little slow. Had to ask for more flour tortillas twice as they only gave me two at a time. Did like their embroidered seat backs with their name. That was kind of cool and not something I've seen before. read more

Tiny parking lot, BIG menu. Camping over at Inks Lake and it's Cinco de Mayo weekend, so, naturally we're here to visit the local Mexican food joint. Olé! Mid afternoon, so we practically have the place to ourselves. Be careful, the six pages of a menu with 86 dishes on it is certainly overworking- but I guess it just means if you're craving it, they can make it. #14 for me (cheese smothered enchiladas) and #30 for hubby (chicken salad). An order of guacamole to share and we're on our way. Giant glasses of water, but a small frustration here: the standard straw is about a half inch too short, so I have to keep fishing it up from the cup to get a sip. Maybe you've noticed this in your lunch travels, too: you order an appetizer that requires chips after you've already eaten half the basket, so now you sit here with half your dip and no chips. Oy. The quac is just straight avocado purée (I asked) and so we asked for an addition of pico de Gallo and fresh jalapeños. THAT makes it worth the while in my book. Just wish we had some chips. And our entrees showed up, hot and tasty. Followed by another basket of chips (yea!) I'm content with my enchiladas- one beef (great spice, good flavor, first bite made me say Yum!) and two chicken (shredded, flavored, good). The plate is SMOTHERED with queso (happy me!) and though the beans are a strange shade of orange, it's all rather tasty. Hubby's salad was, for lack of a better word, scrimpy. Looks great in the picture, and had an ok amount of chicken, but the actual salad amounted to no more than a layer of cut iceberg on the plate. Overall, it was ok. Not a place that will have me coming back for another round tomorrow, but tasty and filling. read more

Delicious! Had the enchiladas verde; the tomatillo sauce is definitely one of the better ones I've had! Ambience is also cool, lots of hand carving, painting, and leatherwork. I appreciated all the craftsmanship poured into the custom furniture. Courteous staff to boot, and served pretty quick. read more

the burnet location has to many tables in such a tiny building. in the booths you can feel the springs in several of the cousins. it's often stuffy in there. the food is very good especially the breakfast, not as great as their bertrum location but still good, but the second rate servers, stuffy temps, and over crowded / not ADA compliant dining room makes me not go in there. I occasionally get takeout but not often it's also got not enough parking, the small wheelchair ramp they were forced to put in is usually blocked by people ignoring and the no parking signs and not being ticketed or towed. read more

The street tacos were the best I had ever had. The pork was perfectly crispy and had a sweet and savory taste to them. Street tacos are my favorite Mexican food and good ones are hard to find. The boracho beens and sales were good but not great. We got a bacon bean and cheese, and a bacon egg and cheese taco for breakfast. The tacos were great but they were tiny. This is a nice and clean place with friendly staff. The service is excellent. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. They have a TV and the bathrooms were very clean. Now, the food was excellent. Everything is fresh and yummy. My husband had the alambre dinner plate with a can of Coke and he gives it a 4 out of 5. I had the carne Asada burrito and a taco de carnitas. Delicious! The carnitas were cooked to perfection as was the Asada. I should have ordered some guacamole for the burrito because I just love it more with that but it was very good. They give nice portions of food, the limonada was so good (very rare for me to say that) and I'm sure it was homemade. And last but definitely shouldn't have been least is that the prices are good.
