    Chicken fried steak.

Stayed at inks lake state park over the weekend and this place is 4 miles from the entrance. Went at the end of the trip with a hearty appetite and thought this spot was a 10/10. Chicken fried steak was well battered and the perfect portion. Mashed potatoes had just a bit of skin left and a bit of chunk here and there and were perfect. Fried okra had great balance of fried batter to okra. Cream gravy on everything was amazing and even the roll was good. A sweet lady even gave me some complimentary pinto beans to eat while I was waiting. Was so happy with the meal that we bought a pie to go and 2 of their pot roast specials to take back home to the rest of my family. Besides the food greatness the price was affordable and the staff was great. The operation runs well and I'm looking forward to bringing my wife to it. It would be worth the pretty drive out there from Austin just for this spot, at least to me. It's a classic home cooked meal kind of place.

Stopped by while enjoying Park Road 4. Had the chicken fried steak lunch special with coleslaw and tea along with a bowl of chicken & sausage gumbo. The coleslaw was ok. The gumbo was hot and delicious! The chicken fried steak was fresh and hand battered, NOT something that came frozen in a box. I would have it again. The service was friendly. I must have had four employees say howdy, thank me for visiting, and ask how my food was. This is a nice cafe with good food and friendly people. Next time I head down to Marble Falls or Burnet, I'm likely to stop here again.

Haven't been in a while as they are a little of a drive. They are a little of an out of the way place (not hard to find, though), but I think worth the trip. A definite go to place for those nearby, and a great stop for those out for a drive in the Texas Hill Country. The food isn't exceptional. But the combination of consistently good small town diner cooking, atmosphere, and friendly staff (with reasonable prices) combine to make just a nice overall lunch experience. Do be sure and check their hours before making a trip. Today we are having their Pot Roast Special. Some items are better than others. Sweet Potato Fries were really good. I guess in general, expect good but not amazing food.

Terrible ... saw great reviews and looked forward to home style cafe fare !!! The chicken fried steak was not even edible. The batter was pre frozen as was the meat ! Gravy straight out of a packet. I asked if onion rings were battered in house and told yes !!!NOT ! They were straight out of a freezer bag ! And not even cooked. Just so disappointed ! I i have attached pictures. Mashed potatoes had no cream or butter taste like they were made with water alone. Wait staff was clueless. Don't waste your Saturday lunch outing or your time here !

The short is the sourdough bread was just okay. I find almost all sourdough bread in TX seems to be undercooked and I'm not sure why. And all the sourdough I have experienced in TX has a different flavor than traditional sourdough bread. It also seems quite heavier than a traditional sourdough. I did ask for it be sliced but the slices were incredibly thick. Easily twice the width of a normal slice of bread. Given the heaviness of this bread and seemingly undercooked that thickness is not ideal. I have certainly had thick sourdough slices before, but those were traditional, cooked and lighter. Maybe the person could have changed the thickness but it wasn't offered. Lastly, when checking out... I was charged 3% for using a credit card. I was informed beforehand and it is displayed... but this doesn't make it okay. As a business owner myself, I know I can deduct bank charges for using a credit card. So, you are charging me 3% and you are taking a deduction from taxes. But to top it off... after charging me 3% more... the server wanted me to provide a tip! Oh, sorry... she just said "the screen is going to ask you a question". What question? Why don't you just come right out and say "I want a tip"? But tip for what? And it's $11 for a loaf of bread.

Their mission is to provide employment for adults with special needs and their profits support a vocational program to empower local citizens. When you first enter the building, you see a shop with lots of beautifully crafted and interesting products. Lots to shop here, although prices are high which then again, part of the proceeds go into a good cause and the products are well made. The cafe is located at the back of the shop. We spent a little time browsing the shop before going to the cafe. The cafe itself is so welcoming and spacious! Not a great ton of seating available but there's outdoor seating area with turf, which I can see is a huge plus when cooler weather arrives. I love the signs on the wall, very motivating sayings and quotes. For food, I had the avocado toast with bacon and fried egg and an espresso. It was delicious! Price point was good and food came out hot and fresh. I noticed when we were there, the lady at the counter (presumably the manager) was addressing the patrons by name, which was such a nice touch to see. It feels like this place really cares for their customers and is an established place in the local community. Parking is free and ample spaces available when we went there on a Friday morning. I like this place so much I ended up bringing my family there the following week. Support a good cause and eat a nutritious meal at the same time. Go visit!

Wowza!! First time & I am in love!!…read more To think I have been living in Texas for 15 years and missed out on this! Makes me wonder what else I missed on! The decoration & decor was very in my element as you can see in photos. The restaurant was super clean, all chairs pushed in, trash empty, floors clean, all drinks working in the machine & it was also clean. So clean that I dined in. The chicken was hot temp which I love! If I am going for fried, I want smoking hot out the grease hot! Cane's delivered that and the flavors, yes, the flavor is unmatched when dipped in the famous Cane's sauce. I now get all the talk on Sauce TOK. It's really that good. The Service was so friendly. Quick order & they were happy to provide my request for crispy fries. One thing about me, the crispier the fries, the better and if I am going to go fast food & with a non-complex carb, I want them HOT & Crispy. Not only did Cane's deliver the crispy fries, they surprised me with extra fries & BREAD (toasted on both sides as recommended). No way I could eat all those fries & bread but I did take that bread home. The go put on a show with calling out my name for my food. The employees were so happy & seemed to actually like each other which is rare to see these days. Raising Canes HIT in all the right ways!!! This Raising Canes was all the right & none of the wrong. YUMMY!! I will be BACK....I said that in my head with a Terminator voice. hahaha. If you not making yourself laugh, you're not living. It was actually kind of funny because I thought she was just messing with me, but then she continued to just glare at me.
