Had a hell of an experience at the Lancaster, CA location. We went there on the 4th of July before going to a firework show. First, we get a new server, but that's no big deal, dealt with that before. The drinks take forever to come out and they bring out the wrong kind of queso (spinach instead of the regular skillet queso). Tell him it's wrong, he apologizes and takes it back, then it takes FOREVER to get the "right one" out, which he says is because the kitchen is really, really backed up. Finally comes out, and it's brown! Resembles a plate of plain refried beans instead of a queso dip, and tastes old and not cheesy at all. He says he will take the queso off the bill. In the meantime we put our food orders in. Everything EVENTUALLY comes out, and the meat dishes are all dry, my wife's "fiery" chicken crispers don't taste spicy at all, french fries are kind of smashed, and the garlic pickles that come with everyone's food don't taste garlicky at all but instead just like vinegar and cucumber. Very, very disappointing and not at all like what we usually expect from Chili's. We call the manager over and tell him our grievances, and funny enough, he sees my wife's order and thinks they're the honey chipotle crispers. He then poo-poos every grievance we have, saying he was personally in the back helping expedite the food and if anything, they're "under time." We even told him that that's what his server said, that they're very backed up, and he basically said we were lying. On the subject of the queso, we tell him it was very dark, and he's all "yeah, sometimes it's white, sometimes it's yellow." When we said, no it wasn't yellow, it was brown like the color of beans and just tasted like taco seasoning, he still didn't buy it. Everything we said, he just told us it couldn't be, and then gave us a very small discount and didn't even split our bill (it was my wife and I, and then another couple and their two 4 year old twins). The host was really rude and completely ignored my boyfriend when he asked if his name was called. He asked 3 times and she completely ignored him and then skipped his name. Then when we get our food I ordered the Chili at an extra charge and it was terrible I could only eat two bites and I had to stop. The steak my boyfriend ordered a 10oz at an additional charge of $4 and it was almost the same size as mine. Not worth it at all. Ordered on a Tuesday and arrived at the time it was suppose to be ready...45 minutes later we get our food and they tell us nobody usually orders on Tuesday...really? This chain has become one of the worst chains in America, worse than Denny's. Chili's has been around since the 70s and I remember going there when I used to live in Colorado in its good old days. They started with simple burgers and fries and a Mexican Texas twist and they were the best burgers you could get anywhere. Something happened to this chain in the late 90s and they have just been going downhill ever since. You can get a better burger for one third the price at Carl's Jr. now and better fries. Sad to see, used to be a great place to get a good burger now it's just another junk food place with a bar attached, nothing like its early days. So just dont order online to pick up. They don't seem to be staffed to handle the business. I waited for over an hour for food that was just sitting because they couldn't have an organized line of who came first. If your super pushy and don't want to be cordial and wait in a customary line you may get your food in time. After 40 minutes trying to get through the massive line I couldn't get anyone to help me, I found a manager who said sorry we're understaffed and your food was ready a long time ago, sorry. She was kind enough to offer 50% off but do I really want cold ribs? And she also did try to offer to remake them in another 30 minutes so im not blaming the staff for situations that are beyond their control. This was just a hot mess and as another manager in customer service I hope that there's more support on a corporate level to perfect the pick up situation better. read more

The food is good like in most Chili's restaurants. However , The service is horrid . We have had 2 or 3 bad experiences ...we kept going back because we wanted to really think it was isolated incidents. One time we Left because out orders we're taken but never given to the cooks and we waited 45 mins for our food! Service takes forever , the waiters and waitresses don't seem to care about the customer. We even tried take out and the take out seficer is just as bad !! I am writing this review regarding the poor service at this establishment. We had a party of 9 for Sunday night dinner and I completely understand the wait for our party. We arrived around 7pm and were seated fairly quickly at 7:35pm. We were off to a great start. Unfortunately, once we were seated no one greeted us and just dropped off our menus. We needed kids menus, but we were not given any at all. The two hosts in FOH were having a conversation amongst themselves and not being entirely helpful. I got up from our table, which was right next to the hosts, and asked for a kids menu. One of the hosts said he would give us one and never did. We waited for 20 minutes and still no kids menu or drink orders. Others were seated after us and their drink orders were taken. It seemed that they confused their servers, so when I got up a second time to ask who was our server was the hosts were confused as to who was assigned to our table. They mic'd someone to get our drink orders since they acknowledged that we have been sitting for a while. After this, we expected some service right away but still another 15 minutes of no service. We just had to get up and leave due to the poor service we received. It was irritating. We spoke to the manager as well and it just seemed that they did not care for us as guests. We are definitely fans of Chili's and a big fan of Keith's (no, we don't know him). Keith made us feel so at home and was a genuinely lovely person - Kevin was great too, as well as all the staff there - but Keith stood out. Our band stopped by there after a gig on Sunday early evening - the only reason I took away a start is because it seemed to take AGES to get our food. Our server was very apologetic though - didn't seem like there were many people when we got there. Still, Kevin kept us entertained and smiling and we'll definitely be back! read more

I love my local chilis and go there often. The service is great and so is the food!

This was the worst encounter with the restaurant ever. My first concern is there was no booths available for us even though I could see an empty booth. It took a long time for The waitstaff to come and take our drink order, it took even longer for the drinks appear. The chili came in a cup even though a bowl was ordered and had to be returned and when The correct size came it was cold and had very little flavor the request for extra onions and cilantro was never fulfilled. The fish came with sauce on it even with a specific request of no sauce and took 25 minutes to reappear with no sauce. (Half of the vegetables were missing from the second dish) My order came to the table incomplete and my corn on the cob never appeared. The refilling of drinks took a long time and someway my mango tea turned into a Arnold Palmer with strawberry. I will not return. ~ read more

Horrible service today. I have been before and the service was very good. A party of 4 at 12:30 (restaurant was not busy) we ordered very simple food (salads etc...) At 1:10 pm our order was not out and we asked the waiter (who had spent the last 10 minutes seated at the table behind us flirting with 3 girls) what was up...He responded snottily "Well it has to be prepared" salad for real? Another 20 minutes passed before our food was ready (by that time we had to have it boxed up to go). He didn't get a tip needless to say. He had a very flippant attitude. Very slow with serving food, not sure if there is only one chef in the kitchen. It took so long we decided to take our order to go. I ordered the bacon avocado chicken sandwich, but there was no bacon. Also asked for no cheese in the salad but there bits of cheese in it. Time to clear up on this negetivety on this spot, I go here quite a bit, lately for bdays. Maybe because we sat in the bar section (if you've got kids you can be in the bar as long as you don't sit "at" the bar, get it?) and had a great time. Our waitress, wish I could remember her name, was cool as hell. She brought us her recommendation drink ("Surfer on Acid", fruity, tasty, does the job, especially after a few "serbasus", that's beer for all you non-Spanish speaking people out there) to sauce our bday recipient. I have gotten pretty good service and food here in the past, however, our visit there tonight was awful. There was a 30 minute wait for seating, so we sat at the bar. Bar seating tends to not have as good of service, but it should not take over an hour to get your food, and the food should not taste like its been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was dry, tough, and tasted old. No one else had complaints about their food, and amazingly, they tipped. The only thing that was done right in my eyes was the drinks were kept filled at all times. I love this place when they do it right, but tonight, there's just no long for them in me. read more

Well after being a faithful customer here for about 3 years. I finally have had a very horrible experience. The waitress I had got my order wrong then brought appitizers for a table of 6 with NO plates. The waitress didnt stay on top on the drinks and for 35 min I had no drink. It was horrible customer service for a resturant that I normally love. I will NEVER come to this location again. I am extremly disappointed with this experience here and sad that this is chilis. read more

Horrible service! First off we weren't greeted when we walked through the door. We order our appetizer and a few minutes later our meal. Half hour later they bring out our meal. Never got the appetizer. Our "server" spoke to the "manager" and he took off the appetizer ( did you really have to talk to your manager about that. ) appetizers are supposed to come before your meal. Not after. I honestly love Chili's normally but my fiance and I have been coming here more frequently as it is close to home. We ALWAYS do the 2 for $22.... we start with the Texas Cheese fries and we ask for a side of buffalo ( We NEVER get the buffalo).... I get the Honey Chipotle Chicken strips... and my fiance the Margarita grilled chicken. Food is a hit and miss.... some times its amazing and some times it sucks. The service is my real problem... I feel as though they may give the servers too many tables. The ONLY time you actually see the server is when they take your order.... you have a drink runner who never seems to get the drinks to the table before the meal..... and you have a food runner who never sticks around long enough to see if you need anything else. I can see the servers running around so its not like they are being lazy just have too many tables to keep up. Also who am I tipping here, the server who takes my order, the drink runner who doesn't check up on refills ( And neither does anyone else), the food runner who throws your food at you and could care less if you need anything to go with your meal. Which if you ask for before hand you wont get anyways. I feel like there are so many people running around but yet the service still sucks. My thoughts are quality rather than quantity. read more
