The menudo was bland and lacked flavor. The steak was overcooked, and the rice and beans weren't very good either. They also didn't have decaf coffee or provide chips and salsa, as most Mexican restaurants do. I was disappointed with the food and, unfortunately, won't be coming back. Services was good. read more

If you want authentic Mexican food, this is the place! Everything was packed with flavor the tacos were amazing, and the chile relleno was delicious (just needed a quick reheat, which the owner happily took care of). Well I have to leave an honest review and as much as i used to like eating here when I visit the Antelope Valley I probably will not be back. We walked into a completely empty restaurant, sat ourselves down and waited to be greeted. The waitress came to us a few minutes later, she seemed angry (well it was 3pm and yes they close at 4 so we felt like she didn't want us there).. The food was ok but I hate when establishments don't have the prices on the menu. It's a shame the waitress was so cold with us, I'm big on customer service and because of her attitude we will not be back. I found out her name was Bertha. So I say this to Bertha and management, we as customers like to be treated nicely. If someone is not happy with what they are doing then they need not to be working directly with people. This is a hidden Gem that does not get the true attention and credit it deserves. The restaurant offers a variety of traditional plates, catering and specialties. The servers are attentive and caring. The food is delicious and affordable compared to other similar restaurants. You have to try the Molcajete and Menudo. Homemade tortillas on weekends. Really nice staff! I really appreciate the friendly service here. They have a great menu, and the server was helpful in making a few suggestions for me. Also, they were running a two beers for $5 special! One thing I especially like is that they have a mini menu for lighter appetites. I ordered a chicken burrito, which was ready in a remarkably short period of time. It seemed good at first. Then I realized the chicken was cold. But otherwise, it was pretty tasty. Oh, maybe that's why my order was ready so fast. I'm sure they will get the hang of things soon, and they certainly deserve a second try. Just be careful to not serve cold food to the customer. read more

If I could rate lower I would The owner Raquel and her husband Miguel are disgusting individual!! Not only are they rude to customers without shame, but to their employees (in front of customers!) as well. Employees feel terrible when they are told reuse the previous customers "untouched" chips from their chips and salsa appetizer to be used with a new customer. They dont care for expiration dates!!! When we first walked in we were greeted by a very nice woman who asked us to sit wherever we'd like. When she brought menus i had to ask her.. Were you painting your nails?? There was such a strong sent on nail polish. She smiled and explained that the nail salon next door and her business share vents. After a while, the smell of nail polish starting to burn my nose. All of that went out the window when my friend came. I ordered the number five (Mikes Plate) which came with two enchiladas, a taco and rice and beans. These werent ordinary enchiladas and tacos the Durango Tex Mex style of cooking deep fries all the tortillas that they use which made for a fantastic tasting place. They also use a much darker and enchilada sauce that i wanted to smother on everything. The rice and beans were also very good. Kind of sad I let the taco sit in the beans too long and the bottom became soggy. Still a decent tasting taco. Every time I go to a new Mexican restaurant I like to try the michelada. This one definitely isn't anything to brag about. The mix was way too thick and dark and kind of warm so took away the good cold taste taste of the beer. All in all the food and service was great, we will be back! read more

The chips tasted homemade but Mr. Picky wasn't a fan, although he did like the salsa (mild red). The sauce for the taco was dark and smokey. The chili con cueso sauce on the chili relleno was good, but I might have preferred a little more flavor punch on that and the cheese enchilada. He liked the beans and I liked the rice when I mixed it with other sauces on the plate. He rates it "3" but I think I'd bump it higher. I think the food was a "3.5", but the nice waitress and clean environment result in the jump to "4". I'd love to try the Molcajete but I'm not sure I can drag Mr. Picky back again. Pity... read more

If nothing else you should stop by just for this dish alone. The spices are wonderful in the dish, nice heat with a smoky flavor. Be sure you are hungry though before you order! My wife tried the #1 and she gave it two thumbs up, especially the taco. I tried the green sauce and it tasted great. Went here after church and got the green chilaquiles and everything about it was bomb. They weren't spicy to where I couldn't enjoy it. They had enough crunch and softness that it was still a chip but comfortable to eat. The beans taste amazing and I found it weird at first to have bacon on the plate but it complimented the chilaquiles. Found our new go to after church.
