Great place for a beer, good meal and some sports TV. I always enjoy sitting in the bar area and watch some games while I have some beer (or cocktails) and eat great appetizers or meals. I like their steak fajitas as well as their southwest eggrolls. Sometimes to bartender service is a little slow, but always friendly. read more

This place deserves NO stars. This place and their service SUCKS. Even McDonalds and Burger King's service is 10 times better, or they are straight out racist because we were the only minority in that I saw. Anyhow, yesterday, I took my two daughters and niece to eat after a day of shopping. We ordered a total of three dishes only. We waited and waited. The people that came after us got their food. We waited an hour (if not more). I flagged the waiter down told him we're just going to go so just give me the tab for the one appetizer and one drink that we had. He said he'd check with his manager first. He left and came back with the tab. No apologies from the waiter and/or manager. The WORST service ever. Never in my whole life have I ever had to get up and leave because service was awful and the food took way TOO long to be served. NEVER would I recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy. They should really replace this place with Weiner Schnitzel or something. read more

3 stars for the service. It was prompt and attentive, people were doing their jobs. The prices are great too. I didn't expect that my $25.00 gift card was going to pay for almost all of my dinner and drink as well as my friends and some chips and salsa. I almost wanted to rate them 2 stars for my meal, but I'm sure they have some good things on the menu. "Meh, I've experienced better" pretty much sums up my food. I had the jalepeno burger and it was really just not at all exciting. It lacked adequate sauce or condiment to make up for the large amount of meat, running on the dryer side. Kinda left me wishing I had gone to Carl's Jr. for a jalepeno burger, or just ordered something else completely. The fries are good though, I like the seasoning/saltiness. Side of chips was very huge for two people as well. I also noted that they have black bean burger patties to sub in for any of the burger items on the menu so that looks like something good to try, I appreciate more vegetarian options. read more

horrible! went there and got dirty dishes,plates and rude staff. we had the kids and just thought they might be busy so we gave it another shot. just went there and again RUDE staff. the place was not even busy and it took 15 mins to get drinks. the food was okay but not grand. and we ordered dessert but our person forgot to put it in so they played it off like we didnt order it. took they 20 mins to check on us too. that place is the most unorganized restaurant in chico. i will never go back there! read more

took 15 mins to get even someone to ask us if we wanted water.. then ordered chips and salsa with guacamole..No guacamole came just chips....and it came with the food not before, had to ask the food server for the guacamole for chips...took a bite of my burger and swallowed it was completely Raw and cold..DISGUSTING..IM SICKened..manager came to the table said sorry but in the same breath said its actually ok to serve it that way you won't be get sick..i was like uh, well I asked for a cooked burger Not a completly Raw one.we asked for more of our endless Chips n salsa from our waitress since everyone now have to wait for my meal to be recooked.and they never even brought more.Unbelievable..When our waitress finally showed up and asked did we need anything else..I said well forget the chips and salsa you never brought, I'll take the check and Your Manager!!...Worst service Ever. .WILL NEVER BE BACK...Never once filled our drinks up so we have empty glasses during the whole meal.Manager apologized cut our Bill in half, but honestly just can't bring myself to experience something like that again when I was taking my family out to dinner and just wanted to enjoy a nice meal and good times.. read more

Excellent service tonight. Our server Whitney was amazing. She was wonderful with our children; keeping them entertained all night so my wife and I could enjoy our meals. She even gave them some Swedish fish candy when they started crying and they loved it. Our drinks came out before she even left the table. We love the atmosphere of this chili's! I usually get to go food from them but I decided to dine in with some friends and the burger was over cooked and the bun was old and the grilled cheese sandwich was cold and the cheese was cold and solid when I came to the table and the garlic bread I got was burnt on one side so the cook flipped it to the side that wasn't burnt and gave it to me. The waiter made our experience very uncomfortable every time I went to ask him something when he came out he would keep his head straight so I had to raise my hand and wave tiger his attention but I have the feeling he was ignoring me. He was about in his late forties I don't know if that is why he had a poor attitude but he was being very inattentive. I wanted and appetizer after I order and he was a hassle to get him back to my table again and when he brought it out he slide it in the table around a drink really fast and kept walking. We live in Redding and went to Chico to take our daughter to pick out her birthday presents at Toys-R-Us. Decided to go to a chain restaurant we don't have in Redding being Chili's. It was Valentine's day on a Saturday. The restaurant didn't seem busy and plenty of parking. We were told the wait would be 10 minutes. We were seated and noticed each table has a "tablet" that you can order from and pay your bill. This thing was disgusting! It looked like somebody's kid was allowed to play on this thing with greasy hands. All I could think about was transfer of coodies from patron to patron. Asked the waitress if we could get it cleaned off and she told us they were really busy and she would when she had a chance. Gross. The kids were hungry so we ordered some chips and salsa for $3.95 good thing they were bottomless. Our order took an hour to get to the table. The food was meh at best and by the time we left, we spent two hours at the restaurant. Had a problem with our son's order and the management was on it and removed the item from our bill without asking. The manager was awesome, very personal and understanding. Sadly, I would have given this review 1 star if it weren't for her. And for the tablet cleanliness situation, I gave up, went to the bathroom and got a wet paper towel and cleaned it myself. We left wishing we could have a lunch do-over. read more

I went and grabbed some lunch with a few friends over the weekend. There were multiple problems....which was actually our waiters fault. His name was Damien, and he was absolutely horrible. When we ordered our food, my sister added a cheeseburger TO GO, to be brought out when we were finished. Our waiter immediately brought it out before we even got our appetizer. Maybe he has never made a to-go order before, because it was very strange. Next, when our food was brought out, part of a quesadilla fell off of one of our plates onto the ground. The server did not care. We had to ask for a replacement of what had fallen, and he acted absolutely shocked when we did. Lastly, my sister noticed that he never brought her change back for the to-go order. When she asked for her change and receipt, he shockingly replied, "oh...you want your change back, too? Or just the receipt?" She replied, "Both. Why wouldn't you give me my change back?" And our lovely waiter, DAMIEN replied," well we usually don't give change back when it's under a dollar." WHAT?! Why wouldn't you offer a customers change back just because it's under a dollar? What kind of policy is that?! I have worked in customer service my whole life, and I have never heard of such a thing. Our server made our entire dining experience completely horrible, and he caused 4 people to leave very upset. None of us will return. This man should not be a server, anywhere. read more

After coming here for the last 10 years I've witnessed this Chilis and it's employees go down hill! My food here tonight was nasty! How do you mess up the chicken crispers that used to be so good? The waitress Bree was SO rude! You can tell she hates it there! No refills, food took forever, wouldn't honor our coupon and seemed like she got some enjoyment from saying no. Seems she's taking it out on people, was very condescending and pretty much ignored us the whole time. The food took a really long time and was disgusting and chicken was dry and inedible! Bummer Chilis sucks so bad now! Waitress Laurie is also extremely rude and said inappropriate things.. takes a really long time and never remembers to bring anything you ask for. read more

Restaurant seemed clean at first but the floor under our table was filthy with scraps of leftover food. Once we ate, I understood why it was under there! Food was mediocre.. Their chips are paper thin & salsa is very tomato-y, but I guess some ppl might like that depending on personal preference. Cheese fries would've been good if they were hot & fresh but they came out with cold, hard cheese.. they had clearly been sitting for a while. Pickle fries were awful, I do not recommend! They tasted EXACTLY like McDonald's pickles with a thin, tasteless, crispy batter. We ordered 1 sprite & 2 skinny patron margaritas- we got 3 sprites & 2 extremely sweet margaritas that you could hardly taste any tequila.. We took a few sips & left them alone. However the southwest egg rolls & their guacamole were both good! Service was pretty slow, waitresses were nice enough. Overall a waste of money, lesson learned! Never going back read more

-Rude waitress - Honestly like almost every time im here, I leave annoyed from their attitude or lack of personality. They just don't seem helpful or happy (the girls at least). Last time i went here the girl was trying to take our order so fast she couldn't understand my question about a coupon i had and refused to use it. Then someone at the table asked for his shrimp to be cooked separately and her response was rudely "why is there a reason or something?!" Who cares why, you're not eating it. Then i asked politely to speak to her manager and she was like uhhh why and wouldnt go get her for a few second so we just stared at each other lol. -She even messed up and put someones order in twice, and forgot to put in his girlfriends order. -The manager i didn't get her name but shes a short thicker lady, VERY NICE! She took care of the situation so great! She was nice, attentive, and listened to what i was saying. Food is great, service sucks. I seriously love this place. I've had a couple ups & downs, but overall the food has never disappointed me. If you're looking for a good margarita try the "El Niño". Three of us went to Chili's after a tiring shopping outing in Chico. It was very, very, bad. The food was so bad my hubby would not eat it and he will just about eat anything. The service was slow and awful and we could not figure out who our waitress was and had to hunt somebody down. The water was so chlorinated I could not drink it and when I left and was asked if everything was OK I commented on the water and was told it was filtered, a total lie. I should have said something about all the uneaten food but my family hates conflict so I just left after being shocked by the big bill. You can risk it if you want but there are decent Mexi restaruants in Chico. I will NEVER go there again for any reason. read more

We tried it again, and so very disappointed. Three times and you're OUT! Twenty minute wait, would not normally be irked by this but there were at least 8 empty/dirty tables and multiple places at the bar. Another 20 minutes sitting at the table with no server and/or drinks (two iced teas and a root beer), Ordered soup and salad and it took another 30 minutes!!! Soup was luke warm and the cheese lifted off like a toupe'. My little boys meal was cool and the crispers were soggy...The manager was nice enough to take it off the bill but the lettuce in the salad was less than fresh, slimy. Other patrons were also complaining about their meals and service. We used to love Chili's but won't be going back...They have been consistently INCONSISTENT every time!! :-( read more

Went to Chili's in Chico with my family tonight. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and asked for grilled chicken instead of the fried chicken. I had to take the "grilled" chicken off of my plate because it had a boiled texture, horrible. I then noticed there were no grill marks on the grilled chicken. I asked the manager about it, and told him about the texture of the chicken and he told me it is put through an oven with a conveyor belt. I have a lot of restaurant experience, and I can tell from the boiled consistency and texture that the chicken was put in there oven while the chicken was still frozen. I will say that the staff did offer to replace my chicken or cook it longer, but I was not going to wait for another sub-par piece of chicken because people that should barely be called cooks and the management staff are not smart enough or versed in cooking techniques enough to know how to cook appropriately.
