    Chicken and waffles.? What?
    Stephanie F.

The location is nice and there is plenty of parking in the back of the resturant. Walking into the resturant it was open and big but a little dark in the area we sat. The wait staff was pleasant but slow. The food was disappointing and just basic! The country potatoes sounded great and delicious when I ordered them but when they came they were salty and crispy all the way around. The salmon omelette with cream cheese is what I ordered and I was hoping it was going to be screaming by the description but it wasn't! So sad! The chicken and waffles is what my hubs ordered...oh wow that was sadder than mine...the waffles looked like frozen eggo waffles not even a big Belgium waffle literally....the chicken though boneless was meh. So the question is would I come here again...I think I might have to pass. Small college town I guess I'm expecting that mmmmm wow factory but it didnt

dragging the zucchini on the avocado toast breakfast plate

I think they were really trying hard to do a good job today. They weren't ready for the amount of people that were in town for the weekend of special events around the university. This place is really popular for their champagne brunch. But for warned when this place gets busy, it is so loud you can't even hear yourself talk. The weight was about 30 to 45 minutes to get seated. We all thought our food was pretty good. Except I was disappointed that some of my zucchini on my avocado toast order was dragging from my plate. I didn't order extra dark toast either. My friend had to send back his coffee because it was lukewarm also. Again it was super busy so I'd like to say they were doing the best they could. Maybe next time we need to drink more champagne.

OK, first of all let me say this is only the second time that I've been to this place both times are pretty decent. Service was really good. Ambience was decent for that type of restaurant. Food was not bad. I really like the chicken fried chicken. Not a lot of places make it this way. It's usually chicken fried steak so this one was really better!! Potatoes were ok ! I think I'll do Ashly browns next time though!! Over all not bad! When I go back to. Chico I will try again to raise the stars!! If you out here check it out!!! I will put up picks to see what we had!!

We came for Sunday breakfast and had about a 10 minute wait. The interior is cute and clean. The service was great, they were quick and attentive. We ordered the Sausage Scramble and The Hangover and both were delicious. I especially enjoyed the Country Potatoes. We will be back! (Both breakfasts included Cheese which we did without)

First Nash's is a Chico Icon! Their champagne brunch was of legends, everywhere in Chico has scaled back on free-flowing bubbles. Secondly, we were a party of 19 to celebrate my nieces birthday. We made reservations so they knew we were coming. However, it took 45 minutes for them to take our food order. The drink girl was awesome & she pretty much stayed on top of it. Food took about 30 minutes to come out, not unreasonable with a large party. The hostesses brought the food out together when it was ready. One downside is those who ordered eggs benedict mostly had hard centers vs true poached. Only one out of 5 orders was perfect. Overall. 5 for refreshment server 5 beautiful patio 3 food 1 time waited to order 1 parking

Reuben thin sliced meat and small portion

This is a wonderful building and it has a nice spacious, openness and cleanliness. The staff were very efficient, however not overly pleasant. We ordered two dishes. One was the Reuben with the side salad? Both were very unremarkable. The Reuben came with 3 ultra thin deli, sliced pastrami, ther was no real sauerkraut to speak of, and the bread was burnt. It was very obvious the bread was burnt when it was served to me, and there was no effort to fix the burnt crust. The other dish was a special, called angel hair pasta, which came in a very small bowl Was completely dry except for the grease at the bottom of the bowl. I guess that's enough said about all that.

First off, this restaurant is huge. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a Sunday morning and we didn't have to wait. The service was great. Each server that came to our table was very personable. The food was delicious and they served huge portions. The house potato's and hashbrowns are super crispy. I would recommend the chicken and waffles. If you want more veggies, my friend really enjoyed the garden burrito.

The most unique country potatoes I've ever had! I believe they're bartered, crispy in the outside and soft in the inside, I'm a fan of potatoes, so these were my favorite. Everything else was very tasty too, I really liked the Chicken Fried Chicken and the Carnitas Benedicts. I honestly didn't think the Benedicts would be good with carnitas but my son shared and I was wrong, I'm glad I got to try them. The service was pretty fast and friendly. The place seems very popular around the area, there were people waiting in line by the time we were leaving. The inside of the place felt very cozy with those cabin vibes, I had a lovely experience dining here.

First time there and wish I lived closer. Got the chicken fried chicken and it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Almost the best part when I ordered my hash browns burnt they came out a perfect golden brown. The gravy was excellent and house hot sauce had great flavor. Will definitely make an appetizer excuse to come up this way again to try something different

Just ate here today! The food was excellent! We informed our waitress we were ready to order and she didn't take our order for like, another 30 minutes past that. It was getting a little awkward but we just didn't make a big deal about it. The ambiance of this place is literally the BEST!!! Love the vibe!

My 2 slices of bacon( missing the 3rd) cooked less than what I like.

Does anyone know the name of the red sauce that comes in the squirt bottle on the tables? I saw the actual container it comes in once when I was there, but I forgot the name.

The pepper plant, they sell it at s&s or amazon

Our server was prompt, polite, and friendly, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with lots of natural light and a pleasant atmosphere. I'd describe it as "Chico nice" -- casual and trendy, but not fine dining or especially refined service. The food was okay to good, but nothing memorable. We ordered the avocado toast, chicken sandwich, a beer, and a sweet drink, and the total came to about $72. Everything was perfectly fine, just not the kind of food or experience that would make me want to return, especially for a birthday celebration. Overall, it's a decent spot for a casual lunch, but it didn't feel particularly special for the price.

I was fully expecting some but it was perfect meat. Well flavored and perfectly cooked. Not only did our server give us the best advice, she also sent us out the door with a refill of iced tea. In this heat, that is so kind. She probably saved me from dehydration!! We had the nicest drive back to the Bay Area. We talked about coming back with our manly men. They would love this place. Chico is just as nice and less expensive than the Bay Area. I recommend visiting this lovely restaurant and brewery. I would have had the beer but I can't mix alcohol and heat that I'm not used to. The copper accents are beautiful and the seating was comfortable. Unfortunately, it was super busy so I would recommend sitting outside for a more romantic and private ambience. My blackened salmon tacos were delicious and we cleaned off the plate within a handful of minutes. I really loved the pickled onions on the side and the crispy outside layer of the salmon pieces. We had kids with us, so we got there an hour before it became 21+. Everyone was friendly, the food came pretty quick relative to how hopping it was. We ordered: Pho-rench dip (w/fries)--I think this was a DDD sandwich, so it's not some hidden gem, but it was super tasty. You cannot go wrong. The slight lime-iness of the dipping broth really kicked it into turbo. Also, we all likes the steak fries--a note on that later. Chicken Cheese Steak (w/fries)--my wife loved it. I tried a bite, and it was great--a little mushroom-forward, but we like that. Mac and Cheese--do not be fooled by the slightly smaller bowl, it is very filling. My son can eat his birth weight in pasta, and he had to tap out! I tried a bite--it was creamy (not grainy at all), and was just the right amount of salty and cheese-funky. Grilled cheese and tomato soup (w/fries)--perhaps the least successful for my family, but only because my daughter prefers a smoky/spicy tomato soup, and this was more on the sweet side. The griled cheese was of the "crispy cheese on the outside" ilk, which my daughter thought was really good. So, totally would go again. IMPORTANT NOTE (to people traveling through Chico, or who don't want to take leftovers)--the sandwiches are pretty big, and the add-on fry order is also sizeable. If we were going again tomorrow, we would either order 1 fry instead of 3. Or split a sandwich. Very very good pub.
