I will no longer eat here. Every other time I received ridiculously small portions of protein. It's as if the cook took a tablespoon, scooped 1 scoop and called it a day, not even a full scoop. A few weeks ago I ordered wings with the sauce on the side because it's just too messy and the Gangnam sauce is too spicy for my 7 year old. It was a pick up order. There was no sauce. Called in and Bethany(I think was her name) was very sweet. She comped my next order. Today we order again, letting the person who answered the phone of our past experience. Placed the same order. Requested sauce on side, ticket said "naked wings". This time the wings were sauced. Whatever, I like the sauce. It's my birthday and I'm not sharing. 30min to an hour later, we are all fighting for the bathroom with bubblegut. I'm sticking to the S.Lamar location. Never an issue. Pro tip: order a salad base, double protein (my favorite is the soy and spicy chicken), loaded with all the veggies and the carrot ginger sauce and omg!!! Thank me after. So this place is cool, hip and fun. The interior is nice, they have a nice patio, and employees were super friendly. I have to give it three stars, however, because it just wasn't very good. I have had kimchi fries from multiple different places and they were always beyond belief. Here, they were just so so. So, as you can tell from my photo, they didn't go easy on anything. Except the Kim chi. I found myself hunting it out because it was the best tasting thing. The spicy chicken was okay, but I recommend you try another protein. I was also a little concerned about the fries being a main course. I asked the rep if it was big enough to make a meal out of, and she assured me it was. I tell you, I could only eat half of the serving. They are large portions and only $8, so a great bang for your buck. My other ho-hum was the hipster cokes. God, I hate those off brand cokes. This used to be a really cool spot, but it's such a disappointment now. Every time I go there, the employees are forgottetting one thing or another. They'll forget to ring something up, and tell you it's your fault, or they'll ring it up and forget to actually make it and you gotta go stand in line and remind them again . So come in the guy what the massive amount of facial hair (beard) is just "wow"... ordered guacamole and chips, wings and fries to eat. The guy with no kind of cover to keep his beard from flaking into food! Gross!!!! I watch this guy give out 2 big scoops of guacamole to bowls; we order the chips and guacamole doesn't even fill the scoop and gives us 4 and the cup it comes in is half full. We have orders before and it's never come out 1/2 full. We asked him to fill up the cup it comes in he insisted it's standard to give only 4 and we can pay extra to have the cup that the guacamole comes in filled up. Why not charge $7 to get the full instead of $6-something. And someone tell this dude to not clean his face with his arms and hands if he is not going to change his gloves. Just nasty! It was our first time so we took awhile to order but the employees were very helpful and when it came to sauces they were helpful with recommendations. I ended up ordering the sesame one which was a soy sauce based one and was delicious! UPDATE: It took me a few months to return but I did, mainly because it is insanely close to my office. But also because I love the noodle bowl. I do however place my order online and the rush over to pick it up because I honestly don't know what it has (expect the protein and I always pick tofu). But since the horrible experience, I haven't had the same issue again. Which makes me super happy. Friday lunch from Chi'lantro indefinitely : ) This particular location was HORRIBLE. It was nothing like the Lamar and Burnet location, the customer service was exceptionally bad. When my husband and I walked in we were confused with the "Chipotle-esque" setup and instead of the staff understanding our confusion we were kind of ignored and given attitude. The restaurant itself was DEAD (at 5 pm on a Saturday) like we were literally the only two people in there beside the staff and so there was no reason for the dismissal and treatment we were given like they were too busy to assist us. Whatever the case was, I am making sure that everyone knows the horrible service they will receive at Riverside. No need to spend my money at a location that clearly doesn't care. read more

I've been supporting this establishment since it was a mere food truck via random spots around town. I was excited that this location offered the glass noodles bowls & use to come 3-4 times a week, since it was fast & I could load up on veggies. However, after last year getting food poisoning at this location, I hadn't come back. Being that I'm an optimist, heard it won funding at Shark tank & an an avid local supporter. I thought I'd give it another try... The glass shield in between the made to order food & the customer is great for health but not so much for hearing the correct order. Again, the employee gave me veggies I didn't ask for, but I took it anyway, so they wouldn't have to start over & waste food (prior S Lamar location)... The tofu was way too salty, oversaturated & tasted old & overwhelming... then $2 up charge for a scoop of guacamole?!? Seriously? For that I should have been given a side cup to go, especially for a less than a $7 bowl. Since it's 'success' Chilantro has gone downhill on most counts. Also, please pay your employees more of hire better knowledgeable help. Not to mention I feel compelled to tip every time so someone doing their job... yet still I do thinking it would improve the food, service & consciousness.
