Fire bowl cafe was one of my FAVORITE spots to stop at while my mom/fam was shopping around sunset valley. I would go and make my own bowl with thick noodles and then add whatever vegetables/stir fried that was needed and it ALWAYS hit so good. I'd beg my parents to take me here anytime we were around there. You go up to their little food bar and tell them what noodles u want and protein, then all the vegetables, and whichever sauce u want. Then they put it in a large wok and start mixing it all together and u can see ur creation start to form! The people are so nice and the food is actually delicious. They work incredibly fast as well! Overall, a good casual spot to get lunch while having a shopping day. Definitely recommend!!!! read more

Update: as I was leaving the review, the manager approached my table with extra sautéed mushrooms and said she would like to offer those to me. I told her I appreciate it. Additionally as I left the restaurant, the manager did come out to the car and offer me an apology and a free meal card. I have to admit that level of service was not required, but she did it anyway. Food is expensive for fast food stirfry. $16 if you want steak, $7 foe kids bowl. I paid extra for mushrooms and got two little mushrooms in my bowl. When I went up to ask about it, the manager argued with me that I got 2 ounces of mushrooms. The young lady at the register, however, was extremely nice. read more

A $20 rice bowl was mostly just rice. A pasta bowl for $25 had a poor assortment of vegies and no sauce to improve the taste. This place was good when we could choose our own ingredients. My last two visits there were disapointing and expensive. read more

I tried Fire Bowl Cafe while out shopping today, and it was good! I had the crispy orange chicken with fried rice - as advertised, the chicken was very crispy which I really liked! The fried rice was okay, they added a lot of edamame and carrots to the fried rice, which I think would have been better if they took some of that out, my bowl had a ton of these, and they weren't great. The egg roll was also okay, not the best I've tried but still pretty good! The service I received was amazing! They are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating available. Overall I had a good experience here, the food was good just not the best I've had here in Austin! read more

The chicken is always crispy, the sauce sweet and flavorful, the broccoli fresh and crunchy, and the rice perfectly cooked. This place is wonderful for take out or for a quick meal. Place an order by phone requested extra protein on my bowl as I got to the location on Brodie ln was given the order with a very unreasonable portion of protein in the bowl. Talk to a Hispanic younger lady and asked why the portion was very small when I pay for extra protein she responded let me make sure they put a little more as she takes it to her manager a tall skinny lady I think her name is Jennifer she's respond in Spanish he's crazy as if I didn't hear and took the order back to me without any modifications. I ordered spring rolls and hot and sour soup, to-go. I ate them 10 minutes later. Spring rolls had good ingredients but fell apart in the container and I had to eat everything individually. No sauce was provided despite the menu saying "served with sauce." I had to make some with resources at my office. Hot and sour soup had good flavor but seemed watered down. So Fire Bowl Cafe is a really solid place to build your own noodle bowl or take advantage of their prefixed bowls....me and my ladies were on our way home from a visit to San Antonio and decided to stop off to charge our car at the Brodie Lane location. While we walked around I thought hey.. that place looks good plus, it was so damn hot I thought I saw the devil drinking water lol...had to get somewhere with air conditioning and a cold beer!....ok..I digress...we landed at Fire Bowl...the wait wasn't bad at all...maybe 2-3 people ahead of us. The ordering style is very much like Chipotle. You can decide to get exactly what you want choose your protein,vegetables, sauce and carb and cap it off with how spicy you would like to experience. They also offer a decent selection of appetizers What we had: Apps - we had the edamame and fried potstickers, both were tasty and fresh Mains I had the drunken noodle bowl with beef and shrimp. Gotta double up on the protein every chance I get. The bowl cane out HOT AF...took me a good 10min before I could actually dig in...but when I was able to..everything tasted really good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any chili crisp or other condiments. My wife had the stir fry with beef and Thai veggie mix and the teriyaki sauce over rice. She said that it was also very hot when it arrived...but the flavor was very good and the beef was tender..not chewy or over done...so good job there! Our daughter had the sweet and sour chicken over rice...she said it tasted good...not overly breaded and not overly sweet. I love this place! The food is always delicious and everybody is always so nice, but Miguel is my favorite. He is aways so friendly and is a great mood. You can tell he really cares about his job and his customers. I also really like that they do curbside pickup since I have a little one and it's a lot easier to do that than to get him out of the car and go inside. I typically always get the same thing but I have tried a lot of stuff on the menu and everything is great. My favorite part of the week is getting food from here. read more

Be ware of unwashed lettuce. I ordered the lettuce wrap with shrimps. The lettuce is not fresh and there is a lot of dirt. I can tell its never been washed by looking at it. I need to use water from my bottled water to wash all of them before eating. I order food from a restaurant, its supposed to be well prepared. What happened if I didn't have water to wash it??? Too disappointed. I should have expected this to not be too great. This is a fast food asian food spot. Maybe I ordered wrong, but the food was not good at all. It tasted like a frozen dinner meal that I could purchase at the grocery store and heat up at home. The chicken was crispy but the sauce was super sweet and very generic. The sesame chicken had huge chunks of what seemed like canned pineapple in it. The rice tasted like instant rice and was a little over cooked. We used to love this place. If you want hot and sour soup this is still your place. It's very good. The stir fry dishes are very bad. Mostly noodle or what ever you want to pair it with. Very little vegetables or meat even if you order more. The meat is tough and over cooked. Sorry to have to say this but when you put tiny shreds of carrots in your stir fry and think that works for a vegetable you need to reconsider. read more

Ordered the general tsos chicken with tofu instead of chicken. There was no sauce in the dish, except for the very minimal sauce that the tofu and broccoli was originally cooked in. The dish was basically just a block of stuck together dry rice noodles with no sauce to flavor or separate them. The fried tofu had a thick layer of flour on it so it just tasted like I was eating tofu coated in flour. I called to ask if I could get some sauce on the side delivered and she said no, those dishes don't come with sauce, even though it clearly stated on Uber eats it comes with the vegetarian sauce.
