I have not been here in years but stopped by today and it was as good as I remembered it to be! Our server was friendly and quick!

I ordered through Doordash right when they opened and food was ready within 30 minutes. We got their 3 roll lunch special and it comes with a salad and a soup. The ingredients are fresh and the rolls are good! Its a great place for lunch! The place has many tables available for dine in as well! The staff aren't very attentive in my opinion. I came in and wasn't greeted for some time. The lady who gave me my order was friendly though! I'd recommend this place if you're looking to satisfy your sushi cravings!

Not my favorite sushi spot, but not that bad. Shrimps tempura were good though. The service is good, sushi could be better. Regular place with regular prices

I used to love Chikurin, so I ordered some tonight via Ubereat. The food delivered way after the estimate arrive time (more than half hr delay), called the restaurant couple times no one pick up. Finally after the 4th tried, the staff said the delivery was out, then 15 mins later I called again, same answer, it is on the way. Finally after 45 mins after the estimate arrival time, my food is here. Order at 8pm, didn't arrive until 9:45pm. While I am eating, a big bone hide at the yellowtail roll, glad that I didn't swallow it and kids didn't eat that! Then a big raw fish skin on my chirashi.... Hm... never again. There's a lot of different sushi places around the area, Chikurin isn't the only one but definitely one of the worse one.

My favorite go to for sushi! Indoor or takeout. I've been coming to Chikurin for like a decade now I think. Since I was in high school. A friend of mine lives near here so we always ate here for the lunch special. Anyway, I haven't been back for maybe a year or two, and recently visited this year. The location moved! It is now on a corner instead. Very green decor. Same waiter! Food is delicious as always. Fresh and hot, with great flavor and presentation. Portions are great. The bento dinner is massive and I couldn't finish it all in one sitting. Really good value so I highly recommend. Overall, the restaurant has a fresh new aesthetic, new location, but same great taste and service. Show them some love and support by either dining in or taking out. They offer indoor dining as well as outdoor seating!! This is my go to sushi place, my one and only gripe is the parking situation! (Not their fault though-- I'm just warning my fellow drivers out there) Bath Beach is terrible for drivers. You've got to have eyes like a hawk to catch parking spots as they get taken up rather quick. Try the side streets or deal with the meters.

We came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 8pm. The restaurant is pretty small, but the waiters are attentive. The special rolls were delicious, big, and so fresh! We also LOVED the spicy salmon sushi pizza. Definitely recommend coming here for fres

I had the scallop, naruto, sweet potato, ocean and bagel rolls. Sweet potato regular roll is excellent- total surprise & def order again in the future. Ocean roll that was tuna salmon avo mix n dusted w pistachio? Was really good. Bagel roll is deep fried so can't really go wrong w cream cheese salmon encrusted. The scallop roll was jus a bit of scallop w cucumber strips. Chikurin is a great surprise in quality food albeit the phone service leaves much to be desired.

Ordered kani but got crab roll
    Mark A.

We ordered Kani roll but they gave us crab roll instead. The sushi rice had zero vinegar smell/seasoning. Everything we asked to substitute they try to charge a dollar more. For example: i want salmon avocado to change cooked salmon avocado; and substitute salad with soup during lunch special. They weren't that stingy about it before but now they look for every opportunity to make money. I used to go there all the time when they were at the old location but since Covid and since they moved to this corner, things went down the hill. One good thing actually, the side salad was pretty fresh with plenty of ginger dressing.

    Crystale Y.

An oldie but a goodie! Been coming here for years and the quality is still the same. Always fresh and never disappoints. Highly recommend the spicy salmon pizza! It's one if my favorite items on their menu. The angel roll is also very good and they're extremely generous with the tobiko. You can't really go wrong with anything you order from here and especially at this price point!

    Sakedon
    Jessica K.

I have been coming to chikurin religiously these past few months to get my fix of sushi. My absolute favorite go-to order is the Sakedon, which is an order of 12 piece salmon sashimi with rice and your choice of soup or salad. Every time I order, the fish is fresh and so tasty! I can't get enough! and the price is just right, around $20 or so. If I can make it for the lunch special, the lunch bento is an amazing deal! It comes with your choice of meat, tempura, and sides. This is also the only place I know that offers both soup and salad with their lunch specials. And you can never go wrong with a two/three roll lunch special. Orders always come out timely and is always ready for me when I call for pickup. Highly recommend this solid sushi restaurant!

Reasonable pricing with good number of options to choose from. Would recommend for casual dinner or takeout when you feel like eating a lot and not worried about plating/aesthetics.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

The amount of noodles is decent and the toppings are pretty good the egg actually come with both half's rather than one like some places so that's good, my only gripe is that the cha siu isn't heated through after being served which tells me that they didn't torch it for long enough before serving. That usually also makes it less tender as the middle is still a little coagulated from being chilled prior. I would also assume that chicken broth is less calorie dense than pork so I also felt less guilty drinking it all. The staff is friendly and quick enough with the service and they also have rotation test menu items which is nice but there's a few items on their regular menu they are always out of like their oyster pancake

Tables are abit small especially when meals are always serve in large platters. The table barely fit all the dishes so they had to remove the condiment tray to make space but it's not ideal with the squirming kids. I suggest changing some of the plate sizing to better fit the tables. The condiment tray have 4 sauces available: ketchup, sweet & sour sauce or is it sweet chili sauce?, hot sauce and low sodium soy sauce. They also do not provide the claypot sweetened soy sauce. The only soy sauce available (is low sodium) but that makes the dish saltier. Great service and good food. The baked rice dish- do not recommend. My friend said HK Tea is better. The sizzling platters are soo goood. Of the claypot rice, the classic pork ribs is the best. Chicken one was too dry for hubby's taste. The HK milk tea taste malty which one of us enjoy and another did not. Their regular rice plate portion size is abit small. The noodles are abit bland if you order that instead of rice to go with the sizzling plate. Veggies are just steamed and healthy but wish they were seasoned. Dipping their toes in so many different arenas might actually be their detriment because they're going for everything while not excelling in most. I would rather they cut down on some dishes and make sure all are great instead. I absolutely love their Thai fried chicken, which is so affordable (8 pieces for $12), and tastes so crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful on the inside. It comes with a tangy fish sauce, but you can add different green curry and/or red curry for 50 cents each. I like it best with the fish sauce. However, that's the Thai fried chicken is the only dish I absolutely love from this place. Everything else is very mediocre, which is unfortunate. 6 rolls bento - $15; comes with california roll, spicy tuna roll, lobster salad roll, salmon avocado roll, eel cucumber roll, shrimp tempura, kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken. It's a lot of food for $15, and the sushi actually tastes decent. The kani salad, seaweed salad, and fried chicken are just tiny portions, but the fried chicken are like nuggets and taste really bad. 4/5 Mushroom noodles - $10; It's so rare to find such affordable e-fu noodles but sadly, it tastes nothing like what e-fu noodles should taste like. I wouldn't even know that they're supposed to be e-fu noodles if I just blindly tasted. I would not get this again here. 3/5 Pad see ew beef - $13; Again, like the mushroom noodles, it didn't taste like pad see ew. It's missing that sweetness and charred factor that's usually present in pad see ew. 3/5 Pad Kra Pao (??) - I can't remember if it's this dish that I got, but it was some type of Thai rice dish with a meat sauce. It was so terrible, I only ate 10% of it and didn't take it to go. 1/5 Pad thai - I didn't try it but my friend got it and the color looked really off. Aside from the food, there are other improvements to be made here. It seems like a family-run restaurant, with only two workers facing the customers. It's really hard to get their attention when the restaurant is busy. The space is very tight and looks like it could be more well-maintained. They also need more menus.
