Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 8/10 Chico is a must visit for flavor! Each time, I get the green beans and the cumin lamb stir fry, and they are bursting with flavor. Seriously. The dishes have complex flavor profiles, and the dishes come out steaming hot and fresh within 10-15 mins. The price is super reasonable, especially for Capitol Hill area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Though not the nicest/cutest ambiance, I've always found a seat inside Chiko.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a great place to go that doesn't require reservations. Definitely check it out!
Came here for a girl's dinner and had a wonderful time! We did the tasting menu, where we were served multiple different things to try. The pacing of each dish was phenomenal, where I felt like my friend and I were able to try and savor each meal. It's elevated Asian food, so it's delicious while also getting to enjoy the cultural experience of it all. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a casual dining place, so it has a nice relaxed feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Located in a pretty active location so parking can be a bit tricky. Give them a try! I had ordered from CHIKO through uber eats before, but this was my first time dining in and I had a great time.
This place is DEFINITELY worth the hype. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Yes, it's a little pricey for the vibe inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, the food is more than worth the price tag. Each and every dish had me saying "WOW!"after tasting it. The wings were crissssspy! The noodles were spicy and filled with very healthy portions of meat. The dumplings were bursting with savory and fresh flavor. The green beans were potentially the best vegetable dish I've ever had. I could eat 12 orders of the green beans alone. I will absolutely re-order those upon every visit. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable. They gave solid recommendations and made us feel comfortable about one of the diner's food allergies.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]My husband booked their tasting menu with wine pairing which is why I was surprised when I walked in and saw what looks to be a fast casual spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Uniquely, they have a bar next to their kitchen where we got to sit and watch, as our waiter said, a "dinner and a show".[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waiter was fantastic - attentive and explained every dish and wine pairing. He clearly has a passion for their food. We got to try most of their most popular dishes, starting with some "snacks" like their kimchi, sichuan cucumbers and daikon. We got a sampling of their best appetizers and entrees, ending with a great coconut custard. The standouts for my husband and I was the avocado salad, crispy chicken spring roll, garlic shrimp dumpling and double fried chicken. They do an amazing job with textures and seasoning. As our waiter explained, their tasting menu is a marathon not a sprint so to let him know if we wanted anything to go. We left with a good amount of food.
Really great food and a great overall experience at Chiko. I definitely recommend checking out the kitchen counter experience - it's well worth it! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chiko is a cozy space with a few tables up front and a counter that gives you a great view of the kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped by for dinner and did the kitchen counter experience, which is a muli-course tasting menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great way to sample a variety of dishes while watching the chefs work just a few feet away in the open kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were lucky this evening - it was just me and my friend at the countertop, so we basically had a private experience to ourselves with all the attention and great service! The stand out item for me were the pork & kimchi potstickers. I absolutely loved them and will definitely be coming back for more. I also loved the confit duck fried rice, orange-ish chicken and garlic shrimp dumplings. All were tasty and the overall meal was super filling - we ended up taking some food home because we were so full. Also kudos to the chef, who was amazing and provided impeccable service. He personally introduce each dish with great detail and made sure we had a great overall experience. Overall Chiko provided great food and a great kitchen counter experience. I will definitely be returning - especially for those tasty pork & kimchi potstickers.
4.5 Great spot! Ordered the orange-ish chicken, smashed salmon, and potstickers. All were delish! Smashed salmon was different than I expected, but super good. Portions were pretty big! I stopped by because I was getting hangry, and wanted to split a meal with my boyfriend. I am so glad that I stopped by on a whim because I am dreaming about the day that I get to go back. I ordered the soy glazed brisket, and it was the perfect balance of salty and savory. The service was quick given. I literally only had 15 minutes to order and eat. Came in to grab a quick bite to eat in the afternoon. We ordered a dish, we're seated, served, and out the door within 15 minutes. We ordered a soy glazed brisket (over rice). The egg was delicious and the sauce was amazing. I will definitely be back for a more formal meal.
While strolling through Eastern Market, we stumbled upon CHIKO by chance. A quick check of their reviews solidified this as our pick for dinner based on all the praise they've received. On a Sunday at 4:00P, the restaurant was empty when we arrived, but more customers arrived closer to 5:00P. The host immediately handed us a menu which consists of small plates, large plates and sides (like Korean banchan). We placed our order at the counter and then selected a table. I noticed that many customers opt for takeout, so even if you dine in during peak dinner time, you may have a good chance of grabbing one of their few tables. An employee brought over some bowls for us to share the entrées, but they were basically the size of rice bowls, so you could really only put one food item in them at a time. I would have much preferred actual plates. + CUMIN LAMB STIR FRY ($19): So good! Tender shredded lamb, mushrooms and caramelized shallots were mixed with the noodles that had a savory, slightly peppery flavor. There was also a vegetable reminiscent of bok choy, which added nice crunch. While ordering, an employee warned us about the heat, saying it's a 7/10 on the spice scale, so we asked for mild and it turned out barely spicy. If you can tolerate heat, I'd recommend leaving it as is. + ROSE DDUKBOKGI ($17): Now, this was spicy (in the most pleasant way)! Chewy rice cakes were fully covered in a rich Gochujang cream sauce and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. It had a surprising hint of sweetness to it and a generous serving of mushrooms brought some earthy notes. + BLISTERED GREEN BEANS ($10): I love green beans and these had so much flavor from the toasted sesame oil, crispy garlic and smear of ssamjang on the side of the bowl. The beans were salty, crunchy and addicting. + NAPA CABBAGE KIMCHI ($4): I'm picky about kimchi, but this was great. It had an ideal spice level and wasn't too tart. The napa still had a perfect crunch, and I alternated bites of it with the lamb stir fry. + SPIKED PINEAPPLE LIME COOLER ($11): This drink was okay, but I wish the pineapple was more prominent... it was subtle compared to the lime. The drizzle of coconut cream on top gave it a light piña colada flavor. This amount of food was the right amount for three of us, and we enjoyed everything we ordered. I wish we could have tried more off their menu!
This is a longtime standard that I finally made it to. Their online menu shows vegetarian options that weren't clear in-person, which was a bit odd because the two menus actually offered a lot of things that looked different. Eventually, I ended up with a wok-charred green bean dish that I take to be one of their signatures, as well as some cold noodles and a mushroom salad. Everything was covered in chili oil, not the worst thing from my perspective. The noodles had some included vegetables that packed a nice punch. The freshly cooked green beans with just a hint of numbing spices were indeed the highlight. I could have done with a clearer menu and maybe something that wasn't quite so oily for contrast, but this place arose in an era where DC didn't have much in the way of fresh or original Asian cuisine, and it still stands out as having something to offer.
We've eaten at Chico at least seven times. It's an outstanding fusion restaurant. We love to go with a least four people so we can try lots of dishes! The green beans and chilled peanut noodles are outstanding and a must order for us. Orange-ish chicken is really good not too sweet (and I'm not a huge orange chicken fan). We always order the full Monty. We typically get at least one dumpling/pot sticker--they are all good. My husband really likes the cumin lamb stir fry which I think is okay but not a must order for me. We tried two new seasonal corn dishes (August 2025) which were unremarkable.
I brought my out-of-town friend here who was craving Asian food on a Saturday night. Since it is mostly a takeout place, we were able to secure seats for 2 people without difficulty. Orders are placed directly at the cashier before seating. We ordered and shared the brussels sprouts and Lamb cumin stir fry. The brussels sprouts were unexpectedly delicious 5/5! I highly recommend this dish if you want a veggie dish. I expected the lamb cumin stir fry to be succulent based on a rec from an acquaintance and I was not disappointed! Don't be fooled by the white color of the noodles. It just was not mixed properly. So, all the noodles were on top while the lamb was at the bottom. The lamb was so tasty and tender that we almost ordered another plate! By the time we got to the lamb, we wanted more noodles but they were sadly all gone. Definitely order the lamb cumin stir fry!
So glad this place is back open for seated dining! I had gotten their salmon as take out once over a year ago and it was delicious. This was only my second time there and the menu is so intentional and diverse and original. They also have a vegetarian and gluten free menu which is awesome! My part of 4 got way too much food accidentally because thwir portions are large, but they made for great leftovers. The diakon side was a perfect starter. Then got the peanut noodles and wok green beans to share and I couldnt recommend the latter enough. they were perfectly charred and crispy!! I got the brisket for my main and it was creaming and delicious- absolutely no notes. The rest of my table also enjoyed their choices! Got this strawberry custard for dessert and I could've eaten the whole thing by myself. Staff was so kind and attentive and efficient. And gave great recs! Inside seating is limited and they get busy during dinner time, but the space was great!

They are definitely are busy! The menu consists of snack items and most items are $10 and under. There are a few items that are over $10 but still under $15. Food comes out quickly in cute bowls. We had a variety of food to try out. I don't remember all the dishes but I took pictures of them all. We definitely had all their snack items, which is all $3 each - Chilled Marinated Little Neck Clams, Steamed Rice with Furikake Butter, Napa Cabbage Kimchi, Sichuan Spicy Cucumbers, Turmeric Pickled Daikon, Potato and Egg Salad. We also got Half-A-Cado Salad, which is listed as Citrus Soy, Breakfast Radish, Crunchy Almond Slivers and is $9 but I remember cucumbers, avocado, and lotus root in the dish too; Double-Fried Chicken Wings. which is listed as dry spiced, and is $9; and Peel & Eat Shrimp, which is listed as Garlic XO Sauce, Chili Lime, and is $11. My favorite was the Half-A-Cado Salad. The Sichuan Spicy Cumbers were really good too, along with the Turmeric PIckled Daikon. Definitely a great casual eating place to come chill. 3.5 stars. I came here with a friend for her belated birthday celebration. It's a fast-casual restaurant that fuses Chinese and Korean cooking. With a limited number of seating, you order at the counter, take a number, and find a seat. Your food will be delivered on small trays. Chiko was founded by Danny Lee (co-founder of Mandu) Drew Kim (co-founder of Matchbox Food Group), and Scott Drewno (formerly at the Source by Wolfgang Puck). On the menu, there were 8 appetizers, 6 entrees, a fruit bowl, and snacks. Perfect for ordering your own or sharing with friends. The snacks are an idea taken from Korean banchan, small dishes served alongside cooked rice. My friend and I decided to order: +Pork and kimchi potstickers ($9) +Cumin lamb stir fry ($17) +Wagshal's chopped brisket ($18) +Sichuan spicy cucumbers ($3) +Napa cabbage kimchi ($3) We got five potstickers in a sesame dipping sauce. They're extremely tiny and quite average. I probably won't be ordering them again. The Sichuan spicy cucumbers were not the best, very surprising given how simple and easy this dish is. The cumin lamb stir fry and the chopped brisket were the best dishes we got. The shredded lamb had noodles, caramelized shallots, cucumbers, marinated in soy sauce. The chopped brisket came with a soy brined soft egg, furikake butter, and rice. Both of these dishes were very filling and flavorful. I'm not sure if they're $17-18 worthy, but this is D.C. It can get very loud and busy here. Service was friendly and prompt though, which is always appreciated in restaurants that are crowded and overwhelmed with people. Had a great time in this new Chinese Korean spot. We sat in 2 of the 4 seats at the kitchen counter. Incredible tasting menu. You literally get a sample of everything on the menu except 3 things. First the brought out "The Full Monty" tower, then a tray of 5 small bowls of the half-a-cado salad, chilled acorn noodles, dumpling soup, peel and eat XO shrimp and a steamed chicken sui mai. Then we sampled 5 entrees....deep breath....Wagshal's chopped brisket with soy brined soft egg, furikake butter and rice, bulgogi and rice cakes, Sichuan house smoked blue catfish fried rice, orangish chicken and a double fries chicken wing. Just so you know, the white bag has half of our combine food to bring home. Loved the dessert....light and refreshing local blackberries with candied basil seeds in a lemongrass simple syrup, sour orange sorbet and candied almond slivers. Everyone working there was very nice! We got there at 545p for 6p kitchen counter and the place was full, lively and fun by 630p on a Monday! read more

Mrs. Tailgate and I had a great dinner at @chikofrc We sat at the Chef's counter and were treated to a Crab Shell - A - Bration. Each course featured crabs in a new and unique preparation. The Crab Rangoon egg roll has ruined all other versions of this dish for me going forward. Each bite had the crispy texture of a regular Rangoon wonton but filled with crab and cream cheese. It was extremely flavor full and filling The Half-A-Cado Salad was the perfect light and refreshing palate cleanser after the cream cheese in the Rangoon. The Orange-ish chicken was crispy and lightly fried. The preparation allowed you to drizzle the orange sauce on the chicken as you see fit. Allowing you to have the flavor you're accustomed to without sacrificing the texture of the tempura like batter on the chicken. The Crab Dduk Bok Gi (crab with chewy rice cakes) was quite possibly my favorite dish of the night. The house gochujung sauce had the perfect amount of heat while adding a TON of spice and flavor. There are some chefs out there that make stuff hot without providing any flavor. That was definitely not this dish. If you get a chance to visit Chiko I highly recommend it. Located in Eastern Market, Chiko is neighbors to some pretty big heavyweights; Roses, Pineapples & Pearls, Ambar, Cava Mezze, Matchbox and more. Trying to make a name for yourself is going to be tough but Chiko brings something new to the scene and while Korean-Chinese food is not something new their fresh take of it is. Seating in this small establishment is set up like a cafeteria, there are 6 large tables in the front and a bar along the back. You order and get a number and sit down and wait. To be honest the prices of the items on the menu and the set up were a bit confusing. The prices scream "sit down restaurant" but the seats say "eat fast and go", which is probably why 1/2 the patrons we saw that evening ordered out. The most similar spot I can think of that is like this is the Thai by Thai chain but Chiko's does have a better ambiance. Starting with a trio of banchan, the spicy clams and rice w/ furikake butter were stand outs. Now most people will be upset that Chiko's banchan costs extra but for the quality you are getting its worth the money. The next item we tried were the Soy Glazed wings, a very nice crunch and not too spicy, it is listed as a set of 6 but the wings were attached so it was really only 3 double wings. For entrees we had the Orange-ish Chicken and the Rib Eye w/ Rice Noodles. The Orange-ish Chicken was such a refreshing take on a classic Chinese dish, a crispy chicken with some pickled vegetables along side a dipping sauce that wasn't overtly heavy. The Ribeye comes with long rice noodles, it's well seasoned and not too oily so great to eat on its own if you are coming here solo (I had a hard time sharing this one). All in all Chiko is a welcome addition to the plethora of great eats in Eastern Market, I will be coming back for sure to try out the other items on the menu. read more
My new favorite eatery in the area (sorry Lavagna). Chiko is a fast casual, chinese-korean restaurant. Every time I've eaten here, they've exceeded my expectations. From the dumpling soup, and the Cumin Lamb Stir fry, to the savory sides and orange-ish chicken. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They also deliver which is great! read more
I have been wanting to try Chiko out as I have seen it on the "hottest new Asian restaurants" lists in DC and finally found it on a premium delivery service. While I definitely have to go to the restaurant in person for a complete experience I was very happy with my first try of their food. I ordered the Chinese broccoli, kimchi pork dumplings, spicy lamb noodles, and the sesame custard dessert. The kimchi pork dumplings were awesome; the chef's time at the Source has clearly paid off. I have been missing a good fruity Asian dessert with all the fun textures and this sesame custard dessert hit all the right notes. I loved it. I would absolutely order this again. The spicy lamb noodles were excellent- not my favorite spicy lamb noodles in DC metro but was very high quality with fresh noodles and good sized chunks of lamb. It was spicy but not overly so. The Chinese broccoli was the only dish that didn't wow me; it was tasty but average. My one small complaint is that the spicy lamb noodles and Chinese broccoli had tons of mushrooms which I strongly dislike, and they weren't listed in the dish ingredients on the menu (otherwise I would have asked for them to exclude it). I would definitely encourage the restaurant to list all the main ingredients in their dish on their menu, especially with an ingredient as polarizing as mushrooms. But it didn't detract overall from how much I enjoyed my meal from here and I very much look forward to trying other items on their menu! read more

If you didn't know, you wouldn't believe this place was only open yesterday (Friday, July 7th). Of course, the chefs who put this place together all have extensive experiences under their belts. We were not able to get the kitchen counter dining experience as they were sold out, but we thought we'd just go with a la carte since it was our first time and there were a few of us that could share all the dishes. You order at the counter and the food will be brought out to you. Everyone is super friendly here. Love it!! And the interior decor is awesome too. There's a few lighting wall art that was custom made for the restaurant. As for the food, we order about half of the menu: full monty snacks, acorn noodles, steamed siu mai, dumpling soup, pork & kimchi potsticker, lamb stir fry and rib eye rice cake, plus the fruit bowl desserts. The Korean dishes were authentic, according to my Korean friend that dined with us. Every dish was done just right and delicious!! We did feel the lamb stir fry and the rice cake were slightly greasy. For the rib eye rice cake, the rice cake is not the cylinder or oblong shaped rice cake we often see, it is more like thick noodles. What was not mentioned in the menu is that it is very black peppery. It reminds me of the Chinese/Taiwanese dish of black pepper rib eye. I have very high tolerance for black pepper and spice, but for me and a friend of mine, we both thought the black pepper flavor was a little intense, while my husband who's obsessed with black pepper thought it was the right amount. I think it comes down to personal preferences, and if you do get that dish, maybe have it send out a little later, which was what happened to us (though we didn't ask for it. so we really appreciate it coming out last). Or you can always use the steamed rice w/ furikake butter to clean up the palette which was what I did. As for dessert, where do I start? I had my eyes on the dragon fruits the moment I walked in. The dragon fruit was slightly brûlée, a bowl with strawberry and candied basil seeds was next to it (no, it's not chia, we all thought so at first), and the sour orange sorbet (made by Dolcezza and only for Chiko) is tasty!! It's sour, yes, but it's such a great way to end a very flavorful and well executed meal. So, I'll definitely be coming back, as I'm looking at this menu while writing my review and realized there are so many other things I want to try. read more

SO HAPPY to have this addition to the neighborhood. Not only is the food creative and delicious, it's not something that's already been done over and over again in SE. Is it "authentic"? No, but it is seriously delicious. This is the kind of food that second generation Asian Americans make when they get together with their multicultural friends (but better). You know, the concoctions that hit the spot but make your mom raise an eyebrow. Go in with an open mind and curious palate and you'll probably love it. Top picks: The Full Monty sampler apps platter and the Wagshal Brisket over rice. And A++ to the soy sauce eggs. read more

My boo Tom (Sietsema, WaPo) rarely leads me astray, and this restaurant was no exception!! There's not much seating, maybe around 5 tables and some bar space, but my boyfriend and I went on a Wednesday night and easily found a table. We only ordered three items - the pork and kimchi potstickers, orange-ish chicken, and cumin lamb stir fry. All were amazing!! We especially loved the lamb - very tender with the perfect kick of spice. I wouldn't say I was underwhelmed by the orange-ish chicken - it was tender and crispy, flavorful - but I think because I had been hyping up that particular dish in my mind I was looking for more. Like some other Yelpers have mentioned, this place isn't exactly cheap, especially if you're thinking you're going to get fast casual prices. But once you take into account the quality of food, I think you'll find it to be fairly priced. The one thing I wish would've been different during my visit to Chiko was if I could have extra tummy space to eat MORE! Next time :) read more

My rating for this place is somewhat between 4 and 4.5 stars. In a nutshell, several good items with great Asian flavors. My description for this is not Chinese, Korean, Chinese-Korean nor Korean-Chinese food but food inspired by Korean and/or Chinese flavors. Things I liked: Clams small snack had to be my favorite (finished those quickly), potstickers (liked the dipping sauce), brisket (tender and egg was cooked perfectly, didn't like the white rice variety used for this dish but am guessing they won't make difference rice for the different dishes- still good though), Gulf Shrimp (strong tasty flavor but i recommend this for sharing, feels a bit too salty in your palate after eating more than 2 pieces, a friend didn't like the idea of the shell being left there to peel but didnt bother me - I ate the ones in mine) Things I Didn't Like as Much: Fried Wings were decent but maybe not their strong suit, Potato / Egg Salad Dining style is cafeteria-like. You order and itbgets delivered to you in a metal tray. There are numerous people walking around willing to answer your question but maybe that's because they are relatively new. Decor and interior of the restaurant is Asian urban chic - neon lighting and yellowcab palette for "street" wall art. read more
Local restaurant with absolutely delicious food, but too expensive to justify, given the fast food esque atmosphere (extremely noisy, picnic table style seating, and harsh lighting). Wish they had cheaper options because it really was delicious. Also would appreciate outdoor seating because indoor seating is limited. Highly recommend the orange-ish chicken- just the right amount of spicy and the crispy outside was perfectly light, leaving the chicken juicy and tender. Wheelchair accessible but the aisle is very skinny and picnic style seating means a wheelchair has to go at the end of the table, which would overcrowd the aisle and would likely leave a large gap to the table. read more

Well deserving of 5 stars! It was almost a mindless task hitting '5 stars' upon writing this review. Just a caveat: Counter Dining - Chinese New Year Menu Before each course, a member of the Chiko Team explains what discusses what's to be served and flavors to be expected. The staff members were all sweet and loved joking around The overall experience was fantastic and I highly suggest it for any date night. Since we sat at the counter (booked a month ahead) we were front and center of all the action. Upon sitting down, we were greeted by the owner and explained how the tasting menu would he set up. For starters, we received the Tower of Snacks which is also known as, Banchan, a korean staple of fillers containing kimchi, picked daikons, cucumbers, potato salad, chilled little neck oysters and egg rolls under a Chinese mustard blend sauce. All very good but I chose to munch on the banchan during when the main entrees were served. 2nd Set of Food: containing 4 mini bowls of a half a' cado salad, cold soba noodles, chinese soup with marinaded beef, utterly delicious single dumpling and an egg with caviar. Wow, the caviar and egg custard was devine! I jokingly said, "something's wrong with my egg! It's all gone" haha! The sole dumpling was very impressive and quite frankly, I was longing for more! I also enjoyed the fresh salad dressed with soy and sesame. The soba noodles were fine but my boyfriend loved it more than I -he ended up taking mine. 3rd Set of Food: By far my favorite course and sensational! Can we please take a moment of silence because of how outstanding these flavors were! Next, the fried whole fish was delicate, not oily and the veggies under the fish was all nicely seasoned. 2nd the Pork with Furikake Butter; this is was a complete game changer!!! I will come back just for this because was absolutely outstanding. It came with their homemade furikake butter you stir into the steaming rice. The soy glaze on the rice and running egg made the entire dish complete -love, love, love! The Cumin Lamb Noodles were good. Although it was a bit much on the cumin where it felt more indian than asian, I still enjoyed it 4th Set of Food: consiting of Waygu Steak wrap and Orangish whole quail. Both equally delicious and flavor packed. I think next time, I'd order the orangish chicken because the quail was a bit small to be a shareable. Dessert: Orange flavored sherbert over whipped cream with blackberries and some sort of chia-like-seeds. I loved how light it was w/ hints of orange. What a hidden gem! read more

I've now been here three times since it opened and I can vouch for everything I've ordered. Couple of the offerings are pretty spicy so just make sure you know what you're getting into. Nothing insane but sharper than your average fare. The space is plain, simple, small. It occupies the store front right next to 7-Eleven on eighth street that used to be occupied but the bizarre hotdog Emporium. Obviously hotdogs are not a good long-term restaurant strategy so that place is gone, and I could see the spot sticking around. They have a decent selection of beers and make a few other drinks. Ate at the kitchen counter ($50 pp) for the second time. This time for the "shell-a-bration" featuring blue crab specials. Both experiences included attentive service and delicious food. There is plenty of food included and they encourage taking home what you can't eat. We went for our 1 year anniversary and they gave us a few surprises to make it feel special. My wife's favorites were the half-a-cado salad, potato salad, and crab fried rice. My favorites were the crab Rangoon, chicken egg roll, and brisket. read more

What's not to love about a seemingly endless stream of savory awesomeness!! I huddled 3 great friends to enjoy the prix fixe counter meal! 1.5 hour marathon of crispy pickles, spring rolls, DIY tacos, fried rice, duck two ways and ooohhhh so good dumplings!! Everything was made fresh and cooked right in front of you, the counter meal comes with your own Maitre'D walking you through each dish adding jokes, beer and fresh plates to encourage the gorging to continue!! Blending traditional Chinese dishes with variations on Orange Chicken with ChiKo homemade Orange sauce. The classic duck is done two ways, taco'd and in fried rice. We also had some soju to cheers and help with digestion! I threatened to buy all of their dumplings, only to find it ChiKo has a DuPont location AND THEY DELIVER!!!!! Words cannot describe how absolutely delicious everything from this restaurant is. I was able to catch this place during restaurant week so I had the opportunity to taste 5 of their menu items. I got the impossible meat potstickers which were amazing! They tasted like real meat and the base wrapper had a great texture. Next up I got the chicken egg rolls. The chicken in them was definitely marinated and had an interesting texture - almost as though the chicken had gotten minced and then combined to create a stick like object. They were very delicious and filling! I got the potato and egg curry salad which I was a bit hesitant about since I don't typically love egg salad but wow was this a hit. It was a cold dish with a yellow curry sauce covering hard boiled eggs and baked potato halves. The curry sauce had a TON of flavor. For the main meal I got the cumin lamb noodles and they were probably the best things I've ever had. I had never tasted lamb before so I was worried it'd be a bit gamey but that was not that case. The lamb was marinated for a LONG time and just had the most most delectable flavors with the udon noodles. I could eat it every day. Lastly, they gave us a fruit and yogurt dessert which I probably could have done without but I was already too full at that point to mind! read more
You know this is not a real Korean place because you have to pay for the sides... $15 for 3. Kind of expensive. We got the cumin lamb noodles and acorn noodle. I ended up pouring some water in the lamb noodles because it is way too salty and oily. And it is kind of spicy too. The acorn noodles is pretty good though. Especially the egg!!! The best egg I have had in my life. Wish I can order that separately. read more
I've tried CHIKO twice now (walk-in and made reservation for their kitchen counter). I enjoyed both of my experiences and their food reminds me of good comfort food. All the dishes were flavorful and they were accommodating to my dietary needs when I was pregnant. I only wish they have a location closer to me so I don't have to trek to D.C. for their food. I believe they deliver now but not sure which food app service they outsource to. read more

Chinese Korean fusion is everything that's right with the world. Chiko comes off as fast casual, but delivers with restaurant quality dishes that will blow you away! To be upfront, the prices are also restaurant quality, but I think the food is well worth it. We ordered three things: Double fried chicken wings with a sweet soy glaze- Talk about crispy! These wings had the most perfect crackly skin that took perfectly to the sticky glaze. Really great little app! Ribeye and Rice Cakes- This was really well composed, from the tender bulgogi to the veggies and the slightly sweet sauce! The real winner in this dish was the rice cakes. For those of you who don't know, these are not like the Quaker rice cakes you eat on a diet, but like a thick rectangular rice noodle. Their texture is unlike anything else- chewy, almost gummy but in a really pleasant way. Definitely worth a try! Cumin Lamb Stir Fry- This was my favorite dish we tried. I could've eaten bowls of these noodles with perfectly cooked lamb. The sauce was similar to a sweet Thai chili sauce, but with a nice hit of cumin that really took this dish to the next level! I didn't love the huge pieces of caramelized shallots, I would have preferred them smaller and more mixed in. But otherwise, a fantastic noodle dish with a truly addictive sauce! read more
