This was my first time trying SeoulSpice. The person that I went with said the portions we got at this location were much smaller compared to other ones she has been at. I still enjoyed the food though but I'm not sure it was anything AMAZING. Restaurant was relatively clean.

This was a wonderful quick dinner option after a long day. A quick yelp searcher showed that this place had healthy options, so I walked over and caught them about an hour before close. I got a kid meal, and it was a surprisingly substantial portion of food. The glass noodles were calling me, so I picked those as my base, spicy pork as my protein, and cucumber and kale as my veggies. The service was excellent, and I was in and out within five minutes. I was impressed with the noodles, and the pork had good flavor though it was a bit tough. I'd definitely get a BYOB next time to load up on toppings!

I LOVE Seoul Spice. As a person who travels with Celiac, I am always excited to see a Seoul Spice near me. Everything is 100% gluten free. My husband and son (who can eat gluten) were excited to try this when we went to a Capitals game. Everyone loved their bowls and the incredibly generous portions. This location was super convenient and the staff were friendly. The bathrooms were not in working order which is the only reason for the 4 stars.

It's a small, cute little place. It's the Asian version of Chipotle . You can build your own Korean bowl or order a Signature bowl. It's fast. The food was tasty and flavorful. The price is a bit more than the online menu that you see from Yelp. But it was the bang for my bucks! I will definitely come again.

It was very good. A nice option after some sightseeing. My son and I had the noodle option and my other son had the rice option. I wish I could have seen everything before I filled out the order slip. It was crazy busy at lunch time. But we were able to place our order, watched as it was made and the pay. We were lucky enough to find room to sit and eat. It was a much healthier option than all the food truck options outside. It was about $20 per person with a drink. Service was good (order and payment). Super packed inside and very tight seating if you are hiding from any bad weather, good luck finding a seat. Just want a few minutes and be ready. lol I would try this place again.

So delicious! The waitress was extremely helpful and patient while we figured out what to get. Definitely will be going back next time I'm in DC. It was a tasty and quick option.

Really enjoyed this spot, and definitely a better spot than the Rice Bar. More options and a lot more flavor. Good amount of food and helpful staff. Loved it.

The five star reviews are spot on! First time here. Got a japchae bowl with chicken and they loaded it up with all the fixings. They do not skimp on anything (ahem Chipotle). The sauces I got were so good together and recommended by the employee (sesamiso and creamy sriracha). If I'm here again I need to try a rice bowl. With all the Asian restaurants we have in SoCal we don't have one like this. Special shout out to Tyrus (so sorry if I spelled that wrong) but he made my first meal in DC really special with his great hospitality and customer service. What a wonderful start to my trip and it was all thanks to him.

Food was good. Service and ambiance knocked this place down, music was waay too loud. Employee behind the counter was just plain rude and obviously didn't want to be there. This is a place where you give customers a lot of options so don't be annoyed at them or rush them through the process. I liked here the only extras were the egg or avocado. You could also spilt your meats but I couldn't do crispy chicken for some reason. The bowl was really filling and I couldn't even finish it. Nice to have a bowl place that does noodles.

We combined a Saturday visit to the Martin Luther King Memorial Library in DC and the National Portrait Gallery with a visit to Seoulspice for lunch. It's very close to the Capital One Arena on 7th Street. We parked on a paid garage (there aren't any free garages in DC) on 11th Ave G st. We were recommended this place by friends. Seating place is very less, probably 4 tables that seat 6. It wasn't busy this windy and cold Saturday. My Kimchi Crunch Bowl was a good portion. It was spicy and so many flavors. I don't think I have ever had purple rice. The Southwest bowl is another one we thought was awesome. We also got a custom bowl. Well worth it and prices reasonable for the Washington DC city center.

While in Washington DC in June 2024, I stopped by Seoul Spice, a 100% gluten-free Korean version of Chipotle. This isn't fine dining. There are no waiters. It's quick service. As a Celiac, this is one spot I always visit while in DC and there are locations throughout the East Coast and Illinois.  I personally like the beef bulgogi, a thin, marinated beef for my protein choice.  I also like the japchae, a sweet potato glass noodle dish as my base, only because japchae usually contains gluten at other Korean restaurants because it contains soy sauce, which contains wheat, which contains gluten.  There are also prepackaged desserts, like cookies, available. Service is quick and I always get my food to go. The food is in compostable containers. Last visit: June 2024

I liked this one the most for all my meals this trip in DC. They are generous with portions and the flavors are spot on. I had a ginger carrot salad dressing but didn't need it because the bulgogi bowl had enough seasoning to skip it. I kept eating but the food didn't seem to diminish and though I should have made easily another portion my mouth told me to keep going! Ah! This food satisfies me, no wonder it is called Seoul Spice! It really did satisfy my soul! I didn't get to comment on the place because my food was to go!

I wish we had more locations in Northern Virginia as this place was such a good place to get a quick bite in. If you like Bibambap, this is definitely a great option as everything is customizable. If you have ever eaten at chipotle before, then you know how this works. Pick your bowl whether it's with rice, noodle, salad, or even a " korrito " (kimbap). From there, you can pick up your protein, veggies, sauces, and toppings. I really like how generous they are with the portions here and you can really do no wrong with any combination. Everything here is just good. For the price, I think if it's under 15 bucks it's a good deal for it being right in the middle of DC. Affordable would be best described this place as you get your moneys worth for sure. I will admit, I don't remember what I ordered but my experience was very pleasant, the bowl I made was a delight after walking around in the hot sun the whole day and I just feel like it doesn't make you feel bloated either. Check this place out if you're around Penn Quarter!

So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

What an unexpected gem! My friends were looking for something quick for lunch and we would not have…read morefound this spot had we not been staying in a neighborhood nearby. This is definitely a hole in the wall-type restaurant. The exterior isn't great, and honestly the inside isn't much either. There's no place to sit, you come to order your food and go- but the service and quality of the food more than make up for it. We ordered an XL order of soy garlic wings (20 pieces) and a M order of honey spicy (10 pieces) and it was more than enough for 6 people. The crunch and flavor were TOP. I heard great things about the honey lemon pepper wings only after we placed our order, but unfortunately we didn't get to order any. I also have to shout out the employee that took our order. He was so friendly to us and also threw in extra sauces and Oreos when he saw we were celebrating my bachelorette. That extra touch of customer service made our visit here memorable. I'll be back to try the honey lemon pepper soon! - Ambiance: 3/5 - Food: 5+/5 - Service: 5++/5

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! This place is UNBEATABLE in the category of wings. Whether you…read morelike Korean inspired wings or not it will be difficult to deny the GREATNESS here. Don't take it from me...if you're on social media you'll see that food influencers have travelled from afar to rate these wings. And even they were in disbelief how amazing these wings were. The honey lemon pepper is not just a unique sounding flavor but the taste execution is something else. If you haven't tried KoChix don't walk...RUN! Service is always nice and they get orders ready fairly quickly for a fried wing joint. Ambiance isn't much to write about. Kind of your standard takeout place. We got the wings and stood outside and enjoyed them. The weather was nice. Bring plenty of paper towels and water to rinse your hands off.
