so happy I happened upon this place! I wanted something more personal than a chain restaurant or franchise for lunch. I saw the sign for this place and took a beeline towards it. There's construction going on on the building above the cafe but it's still open and a great vibe, it's little alcove makes it cozy. The atmosphere was so friendly!! They have SO many menu options, from hot/cold sandwiches, steak and cheese, paninis, bagels, Korean food (!!!), smoothies, bubble tea, desserts, and I'm still probably missing half the menu. I absolutely loved the variety on the menu, especially the touch of asian influence. I got the P11 panini, it was delicious. I will definitely be back!

I had the bulgogi bibimbap which I really enjoyed. The people working there are very friendly and for the area, the prices are reasonable. I wish they had lunch specials though!

Cobbie sandwhich is really good! The workers are very friendly and the taro tea was great!

Super-nice folks run this place and they make the most delicious food! I am a huge fan of the sausage, egg & cheese tortillas in the morning. Yum! They make them to order for you. A great little addition to downtown DC.

Just a heads up. ;) Service: I received an incorrect order by an accident, and when I went back, they fixed the mistake quickly. Staff were friendly even though I arrived there after their closing hour. Ambiance: there is a bar area, left side when entered the restaurant, and a dining area on the right. Both parts are well spaced out to have a meal comfortably.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Washington, DC and decided to give Mandu a try. The restaurant…read moreitself is modern, clean, and nicely decorated, making a great first impression. However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

I decided to get a noodle bowl with steak and a bunch of veggies. I do like they had a sauce bar so I was able to get multiple sauces to go! I also grabbed some of their free miso soup to go as well. When I got home I ate my foods. There was barely any meat and mostly the extra ingredients. Def. Needed more sauce (I did a mix of yum yum and teriyaki) but luckily I grabbed more! Overall meal was good but wasn't mind blowing. Might have been when I went and the food was sitting out for a couple of hours. Who knows. The miso soup was terrible and tasteless. Couldn't eat it and threw it away (would not recommend). Maybe if I ate there during lunch or dinner time it would have been better other than that it's just average :/

It doesn't seem to be anything different from its competitors--but that's where I was wrong. The random bowl of food I ordered was quite delicious. The purple rice, sesame kale, kimche, savory potatoes, seasoned steak and other goodies I selected without much thought turned out to be a terrific meal. There are several sauces available for topping/dipping. The cucumber-wasabi, teriyaki and Korean red are noteworthy. Plus the free, hot miso soup is a nice touch. For $10, this is a good value for lunch or dinner.
