Bulgogi Kimbap, Honey Garlic K-BBQ Wings. Korean Rice Cakes - A wooden table holds Korean food items: a bowl of meatballs, a tray of kimbap, a bowl of tteokbokki, and a takeout container with chopsticks.

Simple original tasting Korean food! Finally they have rescued DC. Welcoming owners and easy to order with a elegant modern inside ambiance. 떡볶이 Korean Rice Cakes, 양념치킨 Boneless Fried Chicken, and 김밥. They have wine and Sapporo Beer and will have 소주 (Soju) and Korean Beer shortly. We will be back often. Prices are good but most importantly food tastes great! 감사합니다! Life Savers

Rainbow bibimbop - A bowl of bibimbap containing kale, cucumber, corn, shredded carrots, purple cabbage, and a dark sauce, with a white plastic fork.

My first carryout order from here! I tried the rainbow bibimbop and it was very fresh and delicious. The bulgogi was warm and flavorful and the brown rice at the bottom of the dish and the fresh vegetables (red cabbage, kale, carrots) & steamed vegs (corn, zucchini) that decorated on top were fabulous. This place satisfies my Korean craving here in Brookland while at work and I am excited to come back and try their other dishes. Now I don't have to run to Arlington or Centreville Virginia for a weekday Korean craving at work!

Inside Spicy Pork Banh Mi - lots of pork

I used uber eats so can't speak to service but flavor was a GO! I got the spicy pork banh mi which came loaded with pork and a nice balance of fresh toppings to offset the spice and YES! There was spice!! The bread was a bit hard on the outside (think french bread presentation without french bread flavor or chew) and i requested extra mayo which must've been missed in the notes. Still satisfying.

Pork Belly Bossam Special Set - A tray containing sliced pork belly, fresh lettuce leaves, and small containers of dipping sauces and seasonings, typical for Korean BBQ.
    Taj M.

I ordered takeaway and got the Special Pork Belly Bossam set (for two), which came with sides of rice, japchae, and kimchi banchan. The tray was neat and could have easily served as an immediate centerpiece the way that it was packaged. The lettuce was crisp, the pork was tender and good cuts of meat that weren't overly fatty. The japchae was light and a little sweet and savory--addictive. The kimchi had great flavor, and this was more than enough food for the two us. This was my first time having bossam where it was accompanied by lettuce instead of pickled cabbage leaves for wrapping, but the lettuce added a nice texture, and I just piled on kimchi from the banchan, along with the sauces, jalapeños and garlic, and it was delicious. We'll definitely get this again, and I'm planning to try the Traditional Bibimbap next. I'm so excited to find this nearby!

Korean Fire Chicken Pizza -- ITS HUGE
    Rafia R.

OMGGGG ASGDJFGHKLLJAJSJA I've ordered from here just once through Grubhub, got two things their Korean fire chicken pizza and their gyopo (chicken) bibimbap. I literally just only had maybe 1/3 of their pizza and I had to write this review right away!!! THE PIZZA IS SOOOO GOOD. It has Korean seasoned chicken with kimchi and cheese. The taste is so authentic and so flavorful. It is truly a fusion pizza. The size is huge (definitely two meals worth). And the price??? Just $13 for this pizza?? My dudes PLEASE CHECK THIS PLACE OUT FOR THE PIZZA!! I will report back when I've had the bibimbap but I have a high expectations! This is definitely a spot to check out.

Vegan Brownie - A dessert or baked good, possibly cake or pastry, wrapped in plastic wrap with a crumb topping, placed on a wooden table.

I saw this place on Yelp's Instagram page and since I was working in the city decided to go here for lunch. I thought it was a place I can order my food and sit down to eat. I was wrong. Once you enter the building there's a kiosk with the bangbop sign. You place your order and wait for it to come out. There are two other establishments in the building as well. The food I order was good. I wished my brownie came in one of those plastic trays, it probably would've tasted fresher. Also, I didn't get the correct drink I ordered, instead of the Korean lemon-lime drink, they gave my American Sprite. I probably wouldn't come back to this establishment.

And when dining in, they have the option to add on one beer for $1 (at time of writing in March 2026)! My wife and I were starving and craving a good South Korean style bowl. We ended up settling on Bibimix since we hadn't had it before and it was a great decision. I ordered the chicken wings, half honey soy and half sweet & spicy. I really liked the sweet and spicy wings and would likely get just those next time instead of the mix. My wife ordered the hot stone bowl with spicy chicken. The hot stone bowl definitely lives up to the name. The food stays HOT the whole time. It's important to note that you can only get the hot stone bowl on dine in. I also really liked that dine in had an offer of an optional $1 beer with purchase of an entree when we went. The service was fairly quick considering they only had 3 staff members and it was a busy Saturday night. The wait for food was only like 10-12 mins and it was all made fresh. The dining area isn't huge so if you want to dine in, there may or may not be seating. But we will definitely be back due to how good this was.

Ordered the spicy chicken bibimbap to go, and was upset to find at home that the marinade on the chicken was buffalo sauce. Buffalo sauce! Buffalo sauce has an unmistakable smell and orange-y look. Don't know if they're trying to cut corners, ran out of gochujang or what, but buffalo sauce IMO is gross in a dak galbi bibimbap bowl. Confusingly, Ive looked through others reviews that had chicken bowls, no one's seems to be this orange so seems to be a recent thing. For $47, I expect restaurant quality food as opposed to fast casual and this does not meet the bar. Ive been here multiple times but am sadly crossing from the list.

Dumplings: I love all the options they have, but weirdly the impossible meat one is probably my favorite (which is insane!) Broccolini: Really good tempura veggies. Dont forget the sauce at the bottom for dipping! Panchan: The kimchi is one of the best I've ever had. Cucumbers are quite good and the lotus root is exceptional. Dessert - Doughnuts: I wish the donuts were just the tad bit sweet, but the jelly on the bottom makes it all worthwhile. The pistachio gelato really brings it all together. Coffee cheesecake: Excellent! Lots of fresh fruits and I enjoyed more it with every bite. The service is always excellent and Anju is one of my favorite restaurants in DC!

I made RSVP for this Korean restaurant on a Sunday evening...and it was bustling!…read more Despite RSVP for the main room, we got seated in an extended part of the room (more like an indoor patio?)...so frankly, the ambiance was a bit off for me. So was the overhead music. Guess I expected a more authentic Korean experience, but the place was more or less an Americanized Korean bistro. Still, the foods seemed authentic! We ordered a few things to share... Mandu, Dolsot Bibimbap, and this Ssam Board. For drinks, my husband got some beer (?), and I got this fruity cocktail (??). First, the positives! The Mandu was really, really good...and quite meaty! The Dolsot Bibimbap was good in that it came with a generous load of fresh veggies. Now the problems. The Bulgogi in the Dolsot Bibimbap was problematic. It was a bit too fatty...and too chunky...and just hard to eat. It was also a bit bland! They should have cut it up a bit...or provided us with proper cutlery, like a fork and a knife! This is a pet peeve of mine...but nowadays, hardly any restaurant gives you the full set of cutlery. Just fork, or just chopsticks!! Then the Ssam Board. While it looked luscious, I personally had a problem with the meat. While I love Galbi, cuts of Galbi was all-out rare. The waiter didn't even ask for our preference, by the way. If I knew it'd be prepared that red, I would have ordered something else. If it was medium-rare, for instance, I might have liked this dish. My husband prefers a much more rare cut of meat than me, yet even he thought this was too red. Also, I expected something more than raddish for sides. Not sure if this "Board" was worth $42. We also tried this Black Sesame Ice Cream dessert. I loved the flavor...but nothing too special. Service was a bit off as well. While friendly at our table, our waiter wasn't too attentive...especially in the beginning. If he stopped by our table earlier, I might have gotten them to bring back the Ssam Board to cook the meat a bit more. Frankly, I was underwhelmed with the foods, the presentation, even the service. Overall, there were just too many things amiss (or just underwhelming??)...so much so that I doubt I'll pick this place again.

Overall, I really enjoyed the bowl, and I appreciated that the sauce came separately this time. My only gripe is that I wish they would just place the sauce container separately in the bag instead of tucking it into the bowl. It gets messy having to dig through everything to pull it out. Just don't expect to linger for the ambiance. I ordered the Herbivore Bowl (8.5/10) - The carrot-ginger sauce is the star! My husband and I dined in for the first time today, and we were both very impressed with the atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. Hayden was our server, and he showed exemplary hospitality skills. He made us feel welcome, checked in on us frequently without feeling overbearing, and made sure we knew the AYCE menu is double-sided. Speaking of, the AYCE is such a great deal! I used to live in Vegas, where AYCE sushi is very common. Unfortunately, for most of them, since the focus is on quantity, the quality suffers. This is not the case for Toryumon! Maybe it's because it isn't strictly an AYCE place. You can absolutely order items a-la-carte from their regular menu (as I had done previously for take-out). The items are exactly the same whether you order from the regular menu or the AYCE. Same quality, and, this is important, same size! Yes, you will receive a FULL-SIZED bowl of ramen if you order it from the AYCE menu. Not all of the menu items have descriptions, and I was surprised by some of them (not in a bad way, just wasn't what I was expecting), such as: The avocado salad. I was expecting it to be cubes/chunks of avocado tossed with a dressing. What came out was a lettuce salad with sliced avocado on top. The dressing was good, slightly sweet. It was a good salad, just not at all what I was expecting. The sweet potato sushi roll is served warm, the sweet potato is deep fried, and there is eel sauce on top. The sweet potato rolls I had other places were not fried, and served cold. I really enjoyed this one! Everything seemed very fresh, not a hint of wilting greens or brown avocado to be seen! I am so grateful to live right down the road from this amazing establishment. If you enjoy ramen, sushi, and other Japanese items, def give them a try! There are bathrooms available for guests. What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. The rice quantity is on the bigger side as well as the portions so be careful when ordering. The ramen was also a hit along with the aged tofu! Those were my top favorites!! Service was decent! Nothing over the top, our server checked in a few times, and the overall service wasn't too slow given the crowd. There is no dedicated parking lot so street parking is it for this area. However, we parked in a garage and it was about a 5-7 min walk so not bad if that's the route you want to go.
