    Seoul Train bowl

Quick and friendly service with reasonable prices for the amount of food you get. The bulgogi beef, sauces, kimchi, kale slaw and veggies all worked well together. The menu labeled it as spicy with one flame but I found it pretty mild. The restaurant was very quiet for dinner but the neighborhood is vey active and there are many outdoor seating options.

These are large bowls full of Rice and vegetables with very little meat. If you need protein, go somewhere else. I am disappointed with the disproportionate amount of carbs, protein and vegetables. The chicken bowl is slightly better than the beef but not by much. The employees were polite and the location has good seating and seems clean. The only issue I had was with the portions.

It's probably a good thing I discovered SeoulSpice on my last day in DC; otherwise I may never have eaten at another restaurant! Ordering was super easy - pick your rice, protein, toppings, sauces. The price was appropriate or less than expected for the amount and quality food. The space had lots of seating and some IG-worthy decor.

Was in the mood for some Korean so decides to try this resturant out. Most definately does not compare to tradition Korean resturant when items are separate. Overall the build your bowl was good with lots of items to choose from, and staff was friendly. A bit on the pricey side but you do get a good portion of food.

Proof that I was charged a tip after a pending transaction that I DID NOT approve of at 1:56 AM

PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING THIS LOCATION!! Yesterday I decided to visit Soulspice to try some new food in Washington DC the Noma location. When a friend and I arrived we had a hard time choosing off of the menu. I expected to be serviced and helped but unfortunately didn't get any. There were 2 younger women and one older woman working and they all seem to have attitudes and didn't enjoy their jobs. I didn't want to annoy them any further so I just quickly ordered along with my friend. The order was rushed I feel like and the food was all placed in the middle and not around the bowl like the pictures presented. My friend was making her sauce selection and had to get it on the side instead of inside the bowl because employee sealed the bowl before confirming if that was all. I'm not sure what we did to make them upset but I guarantee you that WE gave them respect. Lastly the biggest problem of them all I was charged $26.29 for the 2 bowls I received which is correct. The problem is that at 1:56 AM the amount charged was updated to $31.55 stating they I had given the merchant a $5.26 TIP!! Which is outrageous because why was it changed during the transaction pending after such careless service!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING THIS LOCATION!!

Solid Korean rice bowl option in town. Extra meat was also very reasonable in terms of price. Pleased with the meal.

I had the purple rice bowl with essentially all the ingredients (too numerous to mention), added Tofu, creamy siracha, and ginger carrot sauce. Wow, this was absolutely delish, I was thinking about rating it a five and depending on how I feel on certain days, it just might be. The purple rice is somewhat sweet, al dente and a grain I'll be incorporating into my diet more often! All the veggies were fresh and absolutely delicious. I get that my pictures aren't the most visually appealing and that's mainly because I love lots and lots of sauce on my food, but please trust me that this spot is worth a try. I'll be coming here more often...oh, almost forgot - THE TOFU!! I don't know how they make it, but it is hands down the best Tofu I've ever had. The texture is comparable to meat, compliments all the ingredients and had a nice char to it (maybe it was grilled?!?). Anyways, try it ASAP!!! -ODL Follow my IG: @AOEAT

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

I visited on a Friday around 6:30 PM and sat at the bar to catch the end of happy hour (Mon-Sun 5-7 PM). The bar was empty at the time, but a few other people showed up later. The dining room had a handful of tables occupied. In short, easy to get a seat. Drinks were good. I like the Somaek ($6) which is a small beer and a shot of soju. Beer ($7) was beer. We got some beef and pork mandu (dumplings) that were pretty good. 6 pieces for $10 on HH. We got two entrees, the Ddukbokgi ($28) and Yukgaejang ($29), which came with four banchan. Ddukbokgi is chewy rice cakes, gochujang, onion, and bulgogi. We thought it was only ok -- we've had better, including at Mandu in the past. Yukgaejang was a new dish for me. The menu described it as a "spicy beef stew, brisket, noodles, shiitake, bean sprouts, and egg." I expected the brisket to be sliced and recognizably brisket, but it was pulled -- it looked and tasted more like pulled pork. The dish also didn't have any noodles in it. I didn't like it. The banchan was seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. It was okay. Service at the bar was fine.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty.
