Spicy chicken special box, fries, and cheeseburger

The food was amazing, had a huge selection of options from bulgoggi, Chinese lunch, subs, and cheesy fries. The portion sizes were good for the prices too. The woman at the front was the nicest person ever. Great experience and the best restaurant in downtown for a quick bite or a meal. 好极了!

Greasy breakfast, honey? Okay, honey. This place is a great dive that serves inexpensive breakfast (I've never spent more than $6). The lady at the counter calls everyone (even herself) "honey." She is very friendly, and her team cranks food out quickly. By the way, there is nowhere to sit, so grab your food, and get out! You have a few different options, between sandwiches and combo plates. The biggest combo, pricing in at about $5.50, includes toast, 2 eggs, home fries or grits, and meat (your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage). They put butter and/or jelly on your toast if you want. They ask if you want onions in your home fries. They let/make you put your own salt, pepper, or ketchup on your food before bagging it up to go for you. Overall, I really enjoy this place for a cheap, quick bite. That said, you get what you pay for. The ingredients are just okay. The bacon is really thin and greasy. The sausage is really greasy. The bread is generic white or wheat.

Bulgogie lunch special. $7.50

Got the bulgogi lunch special for $7.50. Couldn't have been better. Counter lady was cute and friendly. They have cheap sammiches too, but I'm gunna stick with the bulgogi. Also she said they made the bulgogi sauce with fruit instead of sugar. Dank!

"Honey, honey" next day. Back for the burger. I ordered the half pound burger with tomato, onion and mayo. As I ordered, someone was getting a gigomongous (72 oz.) "mix" of lemonade and sweet tea. I ordered a lemonade. My total was $5.70! While sipping on my mongo drink, deja vu-ing about my trip through the South last summer, I glanced at the "Washington Insider: serving more than 50,000 African American readers throughout the Metropolitan Area," listened to the polite orders, glanced at the dapper dude in his fine glory, and listened to more Honey, honey. A regular came in with her fine young son who then said that he'd rather have the food here than at BK (other side of the alley) because he had that ALL the time! The burger was had those nuggety edges that tell you it's handmade. It was a good size. The bread was soggy and pasty. Overall, the burger needed to get some caramelization on the outside and some salt. The meat is not of prime quality. It's not Five Guys. But, that said, this burger was better than McDonalds or BK. Surprising. And it was better than I've had at many a picnic or party (Many, many). Honey Honey has been a surprise, not a revelation. I'll go back and try the rest of the menu (correction: printed but with hand-scribbled amendments). And, where in DC can you get Sweet Tea for under a dollar? I was jacked up on sugar for the rest of the long hot afternoon.

Western omelet w/ a side of bacon. $8-something. Omelet is $3.19 so I guess the bacon is $5. Scammers.

Sure it's "cheap" on the menu but either that menu is from 1939 or they scam their customers. I got a western omelet ($3.19) with a side of bacon and that's IT! Total... $8-something! So I guess the side of bacon is $5.00. What a rip-off/scam. Never again. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/family-dinette-washington#1rITel5yg0c8jN5fGd7Q9Q Unfortunately, I didn't notice until after I left because I was talking to a coworker and got distracted while paying. I'm pretty sure they took advantage of that and charged me 2.5x what it should have cost. People/places like this are pitiful and should be closed down or given huge fines for their behavior.

Home cooked breakfast and lunch! Nice place to pick up some quick breakfast. Lunch box is $6.99 which is a great price for the location.

They also provide complimentary sweet pickles. Enormous thanks to our server, Stephon!! We loved his contagious smile, he treated us with so much respect and kindness.

Have you ever been to a high end place and ordered a burger? You get that look like ordering steak…read moreat a great seafood place. Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.
