Corporate should close this location down based upon the litany of negative reviews. The staff are loud, rude, and condescending. In particular, the female staffer working the sauces and the female staffer operating the register, purporting to both be "managers." That makes their illegal conduct even more egregious. They refuse to honor promotions (false advertising) and also discriminate based on their bigoted perceptions of race and religion. For such a cosmopolitan area this conduct is especially concerning. Corporate is now involved and others should reach out regarding the documented history of such experiences. I advise going to another Chipotle in Chinatown or better yet Qdoba where they don't nickel and dime on toppings-- and most of all honor their promotions without bigotry. read more

I stopped by this Chipotle on random afternoon, and I had a decent experience. Note, the doors are super heavy, so you'll have a nice little workout trying to get into the restaurant. I thought this Chipotle was comparable to the other Chipotles that I have visited in this area. It was not the best Chipotle, but it definitely was not the worst. Service and the quality of the food (relative to other Chipotle restaurants) were fine. For my meal, I went with three honey chicken tacos with a side of chips. I will say that sometimes I blame some customers about the condition of the restaurant. While dining, I noticed three people literally could not have been bother to dispose of their OWN trash. The ate their food (in a messy manner) and left all their crap. I do admit that the restaurant could have cleaned the waste faster, but the staff eventually got to cleaning up the mess. But, at the end of the day, some customers need to do better. read more

The female cashier told me I couldn't directly fill up my water bottle at the machine because it "spreads germs", they then insist I use a free water cup to fill my water bottle. Keep in mind my water bottle has a removable lid, so there would be little to no difference if I used the water cup instead of my water bottle. I really believe this location should be closed or at the very least they should hire a new manager. The employees close the store HOURS before the actual closing time. Worst Chipotle we've ever been in (twice)! So totally my fault for trying them again, but everything else in the area was closed. First time, we were all shocked at how INCREDIBLY rude the employees were. Couldn't be bothered to listen to what we actually wanted with an annoyed look on their face. Food was fine, the place was filthy. Second time around, there were different employees, we were starved so thought "why not?" I remember when they used to pack Chipotle burritos so heavy that you needed three employees to help close it (and often they needed to bring in a second tortilla to do the job). Chipotle has declined so far in quality since then, and it's mostly because the locations are SO STINGY with the portions. I kid you not, the "burrito" that I paid $14 for last night was shaped more like a round ball than a cylindrical burrito. I'm pretty sure it had almost as much tortilla as filling. Absolutely pathetic. All Chipotle locations are stingy with their portions but this one in particular wins the award for stingiest. I would like to also call out the employee working on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 8 PM with a long brown beard and glasses who audibly GROANED and looked like he was going to SNAP when the customer in front of me asked for a little more corn in his burrito. I'm sorry, sir, but did you grow this corn in the ground yourself? Did you slave away under the hot sun sowing the seeds and picking the corn? No? On two separate occasions visiting this restaurant, I experienced terrible customer service from the same rep who was working here. The first experience was on a Friday evening around 8:30pm. After placing my order this rep took his time cleaning and making other orders before ringing me up, despite having 3 other coworkers there doing the same thing. As the lobby filled with more guests, he abruptly announced the lobby is closed and everyone's order has to be "to go," even though the restaurant doesn't close till 11pm. I figured, maybe he had a bad day, so I left and went over to RASA (similar concept) instead. I came back a different day thinking maybe things would be different. Unfortunately the same guy was working the evening shift again. 30 minutes before closing, he says he can't serve my to go order because they are short staffed. Mind you there were only 2 orders in front of me with plenty of food left, yet he refused to accept mine. I left upset and decided to let the store manger know about this the next morning. However, she couldn't care less and blamed his bad service on lack of staff. The problem is not the staff shortage, but rather the attitude of the staff working there. Quality employees make a big difference in business. I can't support this Chipotle due to their lack of quality customer service. Do not order from this location1045 Fifth St NW, Washington DC. We were in from out of state, decided to order thru Grubhub, first mistake. We place a order at 10:02pm, Promised by 10:30pm, we got our food at 10:50pm, half of our food was missing, no chips/Guac, no napkins/Utensils, my Chicken Quesa only received half, no chicken all cheese, all containers crushed, we called right at 10:52pm to talk to a manager, they close at 11:00pm. Nobody picked up the phone. I sent a message to Grubhub on all of this when we got back to our town, with pictures of food and they said I was 48 hours to late, I told them we answered the survey right after we got our food, told them everything, so how is that 48 hours to late? They gave us 5.00 back on delivery. So they knew about this problem within a hour of getting our food. I also asked for a refund of 63.05 which they keep saying to late. Both Grubhub & Chipotle very poor customer services and poor businesses. So I was sent a message to get ahold of Chipotle to talk about these problems and had to talk to a bot named pepper, which I got disconnected twice from, I asked for a phone number to call for a human person, mistake. I came in 45 minutes before closing and was immediately shouted at by an employee and told that what was out was all they had left - they didn't have any rice, steak, lettuce, beans, etc. The to-go ordering bar was fully stocked with everything but they refused to use any of that stuff or allow me to place a to go order, saying that they weren't taking any more online orders. Compared with other locations in the DMV, this place wasn't half bad in my opinion. I came in right around lunchtime and there was only a small line of people who were waiting to place their order. They had their system in sync today, and I saw at least four employees preparing orders from behind the counter. I was able to place my order in a matter of two minutes. I went for what I usually do, which is the steak bowl. The employee asked all of the right questions about the ingredients that I wanted to include with the bowl. I always get brown rice, shredded cheese, tomatoes, sour cream, and a little bit of lettuce in that exact order. I did need to request the second worker to please spread out the cheese, as this time and several times in the past they simply plop all of the ingredients directly in the middle. The steak scoop was plentiful as we're every thing else that they added. I found a seat at the community dining table, and commenced to eating without issue. The food at the location is fine; it's your basic Chipotle. But, the customer service here is poor. The managers here need to get their staff back in customer service school--perhaps take a few lessons from Chic Filet-a. I've witnessed line staff get major attitude when they misheard or somehow miscommunicated with a customer over what to put on top of their food and start arguing with them in font of everyone (raised CPI eta) instead of just re-making the food. Forget about ordering on the app--that has no benefit; it's faster to just do an in-store order. And if you order in advance online, be prepared for the staff to ignore you while you stand there attempting to get their attention because your order isn't on the grab and go shelf. Just generally unfriendly children with major attitudes working here. I try to avoid this store unless I'm desperate for food. read more

I don't feel particularly compelled to review chains, but I walked by this Chipotle today, on Easter Sunday, and I saw that they had tragically misspelled a sign informing customers of their unscheduled shut-down for the day. If there's one thing that kills my chubby it's when people don't know basic grammar. Please see uploaded picture in reference to deadly sin. I'm allergic to avocado so imagine my orgasmic hysteria when I found out that others LESS fortunate than myself actually have to pay for avocado if they want it at Chipotle. It's Mexican food; shouldn't it be free? Also--the service at this particular branch is terrible.
